Ugh, I'm so sorry to see the update @sparklingdiamond. All the thoughts and prayers for you guys as you move forward. I hope a genetic specialist will be better able to discuss what all this means and provide a recommended course of action for you

@sparklingdiamond I'm so sorry to hear this news and for all the uncertainty it brings you and your family. We're all here to listen and support you in any way we can.
@sparklingdiamond I am so sorry you and your family have to face so much uncertainty. I am crossing everything I can cross that the effects are minimal, and don't effect anything vital.
@sparklingdiamond I'm sorry to hear you received this difficult news. Hoping you can find a genetic counselor that is knowledgeable about Jasmine's conditions and can get some more answers for clarity. Thinking of you and your family during this time.
Ok so I just spoke with the genetic counselor over the phone and she said there was actually some confusion with the lab and that the test they are running will not actually give us a percentage. That isn't a test they typically run. And really at this point, it doesn't matter. My plan is still the same. The test they are doing right now is to see if there is a translocation or something like that would maybe tell us about chances of reoccurance, but wouldn't really give us info about her condition.

The uncertainty and back and forth has got to be so frustrating. I’m sorry honey!
@sparklingdiamond i’m sorry you aren’t able to get more information from the test but i’m glad it sounds like you’re decided on a plan of action. Trying to make a difficult decision like that one really weighs on you, and I hope you’re feeling some peace if a decision has in fact been made.

Honestly, I don't want to know a percentage. It's just a number I would worry about and wouldn't really tell us anything. It wouldn't tell us anything about her condition or what might/might not be affected. They said most trisomy 15 pregnancies end in miscarriage. So I am choosing to believe that this won't affect her much if she has made it this far. Maybe the CDH is caused by this and that is the worst we have to deal with.
@sparklingdiamond I hope this is the last of the concerning news you get, and that you can just move onward with your plans for labor and delivery. Have you got any more feedback form Dr. Kays? I hope he can work with this new information and develop a plan with you!
@irenejean Not yet. His nurse knows I want to speak with him, but I haven't heard from him yet. I know he had a CDH delivery yesterday, so hopefully will hear next week.
At least since she was born via surrogate we don’t have to try not to wonder if they TMI’d us all and named her after the city where she was conceived.

I found the CUTEST dress today that I wanted to buy for maternity pictures but the large wouldn't even come close to zipping lmao. It wasn't a maternity dress so I'm not surprised but the store didn't even carry things in size XL... before pregnancy I was always a medium so it was a totally demoralizing experience. I also just really wanted that dress! Whomp, whomp.
Sorry @sparklingdiamond . And I agree with you on the miscarriage rates, especially once you are out of 2nd trimester. Hoping for the best. I liked that you stated that all you know is that she has mosaic but not how it's going to affect her. Keep that mindset, dd has t21 and based on what the genetic counselors told me about her development, she hasn't really followed but followed more along with her typical developing peers. I looked up a little bit and what they recommended was early interventions ( which has been great for us).
@sparklingdiamond I hope you hear from Dr. Kays sooner than later, if not for anything but a plan and some peace.
@kmalls they want to call her "Chi" pronounced shy. So cray!
TB wouldn't let me log in last night, getting ready for the move to FB.
YAS... I have been so annoyed with TB lately. All the little glitches seem to be getting worse and worse. I think the initial decision was sometime in February so I think starting another convo about the best way to do that soon would be reasonable!

Agree - I was just thinking about it again this week and TB was also giving me issues today.

Me too. Bring on Facebook. Half the time i write a comment and the ap crashes. When I get back to write it later on it's not even worth typing again lol
TB randomly kicks me out of the app and then I have to log back in. It’s a pain when I am trying to comment on the posts. I am ready whenever everyone else is
Hahaha @mikkimikey that's what I said to my husband last night about everytime I wake up to try to roll over. I was like...I might as well just go to the bathroom while I'm up so I don't have to try to get up again, lol.
@mikkimikey This is perfect! @psuxray07 I am totally in the same boat.. so I'm pretty much getting up every 2-3 hours due to my need to switch sides and take a bathroom break.. Just too much, haha.

Oh, you too? My dogs think it’s awesome until they realize I’m NOT getting up for the day and I am NOT letting them out! Lol
@mikkimikey mine does the same thing! So confused that I’m constantly getting up and then just going back to bed lol. That meme is 100% life right now.
@g_amoss I am not a huge football fan, but I just feel so bad for the Vikings. Such a stark change from last week's game, but I guess it's probably better they lost this week than at the Super Bowl. My parents were devastated!
@g_amoss yes! She was super excited and couldn't believe she got a doll that looks "Just Like Her". She immediately investigated her arm and was thrilled that her doll has a "nub" under her prosthetic. It was very much a “I’m not crying you are” moment.
