Re: WTO Monday 1/15

  • Happy Monday ladies!

    Month/Cycle: 14/12

    CD: 10

    WAYDTGKU: BBT/cm, diet

R/R: my BBT has been the same for four days in a row?! Maybe that isn't weird, but it seems off to me. I have been trying to be very consistent in the time I take it though..

C/S: nothing exciting yet, besides the aboce

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without? I am a bit skin care obsessed. I am a big retinol believer and won't skip that. And I also love Skin Ceuticals C E Ferulic. Expensive, but 100% worth it in my opinion.
  • Loading the player...
  • @krissy2241 I'm going to have to look up the Skin Ceuticals you speak of. Is there a certain brand of retinol you like?

    Month/Cycle: 7/7

    CD: 14

    WAYDTGKU: Lots

R/R: I was forced to get out bed last night around 2 am so I'm suspicious of my temp I took at 5:30. I have the day off today and plan to do absolutely nothing except read.

    C/S:

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without? Probably my cetaphil face lotion and Benefit mascara.

  • @krissy2241 I've had that happen a couple of times with my BBT, so I'm guessing it's normal?

@eleven_ Yay for a day of nothing but reading! I'm vegging on the couch with Netflix and my laptop in between loads of laundry.

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 15

    WAYDTGKU: The usual.

R/R: DH has his SA on Wednesday afternoon, so he doesn't get to have any fun until then. Thankfully, we're spending most of the next two days with my family, so we don't really have to worry about it.

C/S: None. My chart sucks this month.

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without? Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion. My skin is kind of insane, and this is one of the only lotions I can use without feeling itchy. I also don't really do makeup beyond just mascara and lip gloss (which is rare in and of itself).

  • @krissy2241 Is your thermometer old or could the batteries be dying? Definitely odd to have the exact same temp so many days in a row but it does happen.
@eleven_ A day off full of reading sounds amazing - enjoy!!

    Month/Cycle: 10/10

    CD: 5

WAYDTGKU: Right now just PNVs and Pom juice - will start HIO once AF leaves and hopefully my FW will cooperate and not be entirely while I'm away. No temping this month.

R/R: I made the decision to start looking into my options with my doctor so I have an appointment tomorrow to start the process of testing and looking at REs. I am a bit nervous to see how helpful my doctor will be after reading so many stories of awful doctors on here but up until now she's always been amazing so hopefully that trend continues!

C/S: No chart this month which has been so freeing! I usually wake up in the middle of the night to temp because I often don't sleep through - since the second day of not temping I have slept entirely through the night which I am now wondering if I wake up because of the stress around temping! Either way - this month feels way more relaxed already.

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without?  Concealer. I am awful at caring for my skin because I've always been lucky enough to have pretty good skin - I do exfoliate and do masks, etc. when I remember but I wouldn't say I have a daily routine. And I also use very little make-up, I have lash extensions so the only thing I do on a daily basis is attempt to lessen my dark circles with concealer. And I switch brands every time I need a new one - still haven't found the ultimate one.

  • Month/Cycle: 7/5 (1 loss 1 benched)

    CD: 16

    WAYDTGKU: CM OPKS

R/R: My cold disappeared really quickly, so that's amazing! I diffused some Thieves oil as I slept the other night and woke up feeling normal. I'm not a huge believer in oils, but I have to wonder if it's connected.

    C/S: Nope

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without? I have been using Bare Minerals for years now and I love it. I can either wear a really light layer or if I'm having a bad acne day I can pile it on. I've tried other foundations and I just keep coming back to this one. It's expensive, but I use so little of it that one thing of it usually lasts me more than a year.

    not yet

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without?
I'm not big into make-up/beauty products because I'm lazy and cheap, so probably just my plain old Cetaphil body lotion; I have the driest skin, even in summer.

@elothair How do you like your lash extensions? I am considering doing it.
@acciocoffee Thats awesome to have a short cold. They always seem to drag on forever for me so a short one is great!

  • @krissy2241 - I think I would think it's weird to have the exact same temp 4 days in a row, too. I've had it the same twice in a row, though, so I suppose it could be "normal"...
@eleven_ - How are the fish doing? How did your Keurig hunt go? I hadn't thought about height when pickng our new one out. Luckily, I had space on the counter where there were no upper cabinets!
@dreamscapes_ - I'm very jealous of your vegging out day!

C/S: Nothing to see yet. Wondering when to start OPKs since I'm not sure if things are "regular" yet after stopping BCP.

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without? About a year ago I started using GNC's A, E, C face cream. It goes on so light. I looooove it!

@krissy2241 - i keep hearing about retinol, but i have crazy sensitive skin and am so nervous!
@eleven_ - i usually don't temp for this reason.  I know they say 5 hours of sleep or its inaccurate, and that is just not how i live my life. Enjoy your day off!!
@dreamscapes_ - good luck on the SA!
@elothair - glad you were able to start the process for an RE
@acciocoffee - glad you are feeling better!  I keep hearing about thieves, and i'm thinking i should look into it with how sick i've been this winter!
@coco2787 - cetaphil is the only product i usually bring with me when i travel!

WAYDTGKU: All the things, and preseed, and crossing fingers since we only have one shot this month, lol.

R/R: Work is stressing me out.  A lot of people are leaving because of lack of flexibility, especially towards working mothers.  I am in tiny, technically separate group, and have lots of flexibility, but it's sad to see that it's not a sentiment shared across the company  :(

    C/S:

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without? The obvious is sunblock - wear it everyday people!!  But lately i am just as committed to my glossier boy brow. My brows look fabulous, you guys, and i do so little.  Why aren't more things like that?

  • @dreamscapes_ FX for good results on your DH's SA. Yay for laundry and Netflix! I might give in and do a couple of loads.
@elothair I hope so much that you find an RE that you love! I totally get what you mean about temping. I have found that since I started temping, my sleep has gone to hell. I wake up and wonder what time it is and the whole thing just gives me major anxiety. I'm glad that you have been able to relax this month. I am also really bad with skin routines. I have pretty good skin too so it just makes me super lazy.
@acciocoffee Hmm.. I've never heard of Thieves oil. I might have to check it out.
@coco2787 FX you are in the clear for being sick. Isn't Cetaphil lotion the best? I couldn't live without mine. I also have the DRIEST skin. I hate it.
@kobrien827 Sorry for CD1 and the cramps. FX for you this cycle! I love when my boss is gone too.
@kimberbeep Awesome you guys painted! What color did you pick? I need to do some painting too.
@jengibre_zorro I'm sorry work is stressing you out! Everything crossed for you this month for timing. Did you decide if you are going to meet your DH at the airport?

  • @kobrien827 - Sorry for CD1, but hopefully it's a slow easy day for you!
@jengibre_zorro - It's a shame your company isn't flexible across the board, but luckily you are on the flexible side.
@eleven_ - Our kitchen was a hideous baby blue color. Our cabinets are light wood with white doors, the floor is grey/white linoleum, the counter is also grey/white. We went with a light tan/sand color and we'll be painting the hallway the same soon.
  • @krissy2241 good job being super consistent with temping!
@eleven_ I would be so mad if I had to get up 2am. And I'm jealous of your day off! Enjoy readying!
@dreamscapes_ Also jealous of your netflix and laundry! I had to jam all my laundry into one day yesterday - but I did wash my sheets so I call that a success!
@elothair hope you're enjoying the month not temping - sounds like its taking some stress off. I haven't been temping because I'm concerned about the stress it might put on us.
@acciocoffee yay for short flus! I'm not sure how I feel about oils. I have a peppermint one for migraines. But I've also read that running them are actually super bad for animals!
@kobrien827 sorry about CD1 (and on a Monday - boo). Glad your day will be a little more relaxed at work though.
@kimberbeep what color did you go with? I am also still regulating and planned to start OPKs around CD 10.
@jengibre_zorro Sorry about the work stress. It can be hard when your employer isn't accommodating. Mine isn't either. Hope your timing works out!

    WAYDTGKU: PNV's. Charting. HIO. OPKs

R/R: Gave up on OPKs yesterday since I couldn't see another barely there line. Will start again today post work. Starting HIO at CD 11 so hopefully timing works out. Last month O was CD15/16 but lines were strong leading up to then.

    C/S:

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without?
Probably my highlighter (I use Urban Decay Naked Illuminated). I feel like when I wear it, it brightens me up!
  • @eleven_ - Luckily everything shifted by a day giving us shot this month.  But, if things shift back, it looks like airport quickie it is!  :D:D

@kobrien827 - i love my boss, but sometimes it's soooo nice when they aren't in the office!

@kimberbeep - I would start the OPK's on day 10, unless you have a history of short cycles
  • Those of you that use digital OPKs, when do you test?  The directions say to use FMU but I always thought testing midday was better for detecting LH surge.

@kobrien827 Me too! The last cold I had lasted about 3 weeks and I just got over it. I was fully prepared for another 3 weeks of being sick and I was pretty sure it was going to knock us out of the running this month.
@jengibre_zorro @eleven_ I normally use it as a cleaner. It's safer than the chemical cleaners so I spray down all the surfaces and even toys and books and just let it dry overnight. I use it as a floor cleaner too. It smells great. It's pretty expensive to buy, but it lasts a long time.
@kristah2 I use them pretty sparingly. When I use my diffuser I only put in 1-2 drops of oil because I'm paranoid I will poison my entire family.

    *Edited to fix tags
  • CD10 seems like a reasonable place to start.

I was looking at the Easy@home OPKs on Amazon and where it has the "frequently purchased with" section it showed a pack of small disposable cups. Um... do I need those too??
  • @kimberbeep You will want some cups for sure. You have to pee in the cup and dip the stick in. It's super fun.
  • @eleven_ yep, it says "first urine after longest sleep".  It's the advanced digital if that makes any difference.  My LH strips say test in the afternoon, and that's what I've always thought, I just wasn't sure if the digital was different somehow.  I'll probably just do morning and afternoon around CD 12/13.

@kimberbeep you definitely don't need to buy a pack of cups.  I just have one plastic cup I use and rinse out.  Seems wasteful to use a new cup every time.

@kimberbeep You can also pee in the wrapper in a pinch, if you need to take the test while you're at work or out of the house. :) The cheapie OPKs are dip strips, so unfortunately you can't just pee on them!
@eleven_ I've been reading most of the day too. What are you reading?
@dreamscapes_ Watching anything good on Netflix today?
@coco2787 So I don't have any experience with the digital OPKs, but I seem to remember a conversation on TTGP a while ago where people said it was best to follow the manufacturer's instructions and use FMU, even though most OPKs are supposed to be taken with afternoon urine. Maybe try the search feature to see if you can find a similar conversation? I tried searching just now but couldn't find anything. :(

  • @elothair what kind of lash extensions do you have?? I’ve had them before and loved them but they were on the cheaper side and never lasted longer than 2 weeks. Still do them for special occasions sometimes.

@dreamscapes_ that sounds like my kind of day.

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

    WAYDTGKU: charting

R/R: my kitten and my husbands dog have been playing together all morning and it’s hilarious/ adorable.

C/S: I’m using the FF app to chart, and it says today is a fertile day even though I’m only cd8 and the projected ovulation day isn’t until next Monday. What gives? I’m confused (and new to charting).

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without? I love makeup and don’t like to go out in public without my ‘face.’ I love my stila black liquid eyeliner but also can’t live without undereye concealer. I have like 5 different kinds depending on how much I want to try for the day.

  • @elothair FX that you find an excellent doctor to help you with everything!

@acciocoffee I'm glad you feel better! I must've caught your cold, though, lol.

@coco2787 My mom used to buy me Cetaphil when I was a kid, but it never helped with my dry skin. It just kind of sat on my skin and made me feel greasy for some reason. As far as the digital OPKs, I do what the box says. I'm using the CBD, but will be switching to the CBDA when I run out of strips.

@kobrien827 Hoping that your cramps subside soon! That's no fun, especially when you're stuck at work.

@kimberbeep Well, it's only vegging out for another hour or so. My parents are coming into town and will be here until Wednesday morning. As far as starting OPKs, I'd probably just start them this cycle, especially if you're using cheapies. And some cups. I know you can reuse one cup, but I find that icky, so I just bought a sleeve of like 40 cups at the dollar store.

@jengibre_zorro Thanks! We'll see how it goes. I'm sorry work is stressful for you right now!

@eleven_ I'm mainly doing the laundry so I don't have to rush to get it all done on Wednesday night before work on Thursday. My parents are going to be in town for the next couple of days, so I won't really have the time. Plus my hoodie is in the dryer and I kind of want that, lol. Also, I have to say that your siggy gif always cracks me up!

@kristah2 That's definitely a success! I'm nearly done with ours, so whatever hasn't been washed yet might wait until Wednesday. FX that you have good timing, even with the weird OPKs!

@offtoneverland Eh, just Friends again. I put it on for background noise while I'm doing other things.

@flyingmombula FF seems to be kinda goofy sometimes, epecially if you've only just recently started charting. It may not have enough data to go on just yet.

  • @flyingmombula - kitten and pupply playing together?!?! So cute! Our cat and dog keep stalking each other - NOT CUTE!

RE: Pee Cups - I think I'll start with disposable cups and see how I feel later. Our bathroom sink is very shallow, so we get a lot of splashing on the counter - Very annoying. Not sure I want to be rinsing/cleaning out a pee cup there, but I also don't like to be too wasteful!

  • @kimberbeep the kitten has almost killed me several times. He hides in the bookshelf and squirts out whenever anyone walks by and trips us up  :D

maybe an UO but I don’t think pee is that gross. Urine is sterile right? Maybe I’m just gross :D

  • @kobrien827 I am addicted to my lash extensions! I have been wearing them for about 3 years (with a break every 6 months or so for about a month to give my lashes a rest) and they make my life so much easier. You just have to go into it knowing you are going to lose lashes between appointments - you don't realize how many lashes you lose on a regular basis until they are super long and dark!

@kristah2 I liked temping in the beginning and it was super helpful to know what my body was doing and pinpoint O - but I know pretty much now what my body is doing because I've been doing it so long, so not temping isn't going to change a lot from that perspective but is super relaxing to not have in my life!

@flyingmombula I believe right now I have the mink volume ones on - I remove the whole set and re-do them about every 3 months to get rid of any glue build up, etc. and my lash girl changes them based on anything new she has in and wants to try - I've been going to her for a long time so I trust her to do something new. You do have to be gentle with them for them to last but I also get mine filled every 2 weeks because I like a fuller look and you naturally lose 2-3 lashes per day and it's way more noticeable with extensions.

I will try and get back for the rest of my tags a bit later!

@elothair FX your FW cooperates.  Good luck with the RE process, I hope you get lucky and end up not needing it.
    Glad you're feeling better @acciocoffee
@kobrien827 sorry about CD 1 and cramps  :(
@kimberbeep I hate painting, but the finished product is always so satisfying.
@jengibre_zorro I hope your one shot does the trick!
@kristah2 FX for a postitive OPK!
@flyingmombula that's weird it's saying today is a fertile day.  Is it saying fertile from now until O day?  I get 4 fertile days on FF.

@flyingmombula that's weird, I've never seen non-fertile days sandwiched between fertile days like that

edit: missed your comment about CM.  That would make sense.

  • @flyingmombula I agree with @eleven_ -- it's giving you fertile days because of your fertile CM. Watery is considered fertile, so FF thinks your O is near. If it's not really watery, maybe change it to sticky or something else that might fit to remove the fertile days prediction. And I don't think there's anything that's really considered TMI here, lol.
@eleven_ I just added The Nest to my Goodreads list! I'm reading The Rosie Project for my book club this coming weekend. I didn't think I'd like it very much, but it's excellent! I'm really enjoying it.
@AccioCoffee So glad you're feeling better!
@elothair I'm glad you decided to take a month off temping and it's not stressing you out too much. I feel the same way -- I've been temping for a while so I know what's normal for my body, so taking a month off here and there isn't so bad. Hopefully it'll give you some stress relief.

  • Another negative opk for me. These lines just don’t want to show at all! Hopefully it just means a later then usual O. Eek!
  • @kristah2 do you have any other signs of impending ovulation?  Lines don't always get gradually darker and sometimes the window for catching the surge on a test can be really short.

    CD: 1 (womp womp)

WAYDTGKU: PNV, OPK, charting, temping, B complex

R/R: temp tanked a couple days ago and AF started in full force this afternoon. Posted in TWW this morning, but posting here for accountability.

C/S: nothing to see here, folks.

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without? IT cosmetics confidence in a cream. wonderful (if a little thick) moisturizer.

  • @catlady2015 - Hi there... sorry you're here!
  • Month/Cycle: 5/3 (1 loss followed by 1 benched)

    CD:17 -

    WAYDTGKU: everything

R/R: *blank stare* can I just go straight to WFAF uuuuugh I hate ttc sometimes. I already feel out. I swear I felt twitches on my left side so I don't even think I'm ovulating on the correct side this month. I had perfect timing,  what a waste.
Me with this cycle and ttc in general:

I better get used to it,  this is life now.

    C/S:

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without?
    Eye liner and blush.
  • @flyingmombula Yeah, so I routinely get fertile CM waaay before O. It has been even more so since my HSG in September and I have noticed I get EWCM on my 4th or 5th day of clomid, even though I won’t O for a while. This cycle I had EWCM on CD7. I will probably O between CD12-CD15. My calendar always looks kind of like yours.

  • @eleven_ I'm jealous you got to stay home and read all day! Today would have definitely been a good day here for that since we already have about 3 inches of new snow.
@dreamscapes_ Good luck to you and YH on the SA...FX for good results!
@elothair Good luck with a new RE! It is always hard finding a doctor, fx you are able to find one who you are comfortable with!
    @catlady2015 Sorry about CD1 :(
@galactickates Sorry you are feeling down about this cycle and ttc in general. Hopefully your perfect timing wasn't a waste!
@acciocoffee I have never heard of Thieves oil, but my MIL swears by all essential oils. I'm glad it helped with your cold (or that you are at least feeling better even if the oil had nothing to do with it)! This cold/flu season has been so bad, its worth trying just about anything at this point to stay healthy.
@flyingmombula I haven't tried temping yet, so I can't answer your question, but I do appreciate reading through all of the responses. It is definitely good information to have if/when I do start temping in future cycles.
@kimberbeep Congrats on the freshly painted room! I love the look and feeling of a newly painted and decorated room in the house. It always makes me excited.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 6

    WAYDTGKU: HIO, charting, pnvs

R/R: My rant for today is that it is cold and snowing again, but my rave is my first amazon Prime package came today (nothing exciting...just a paper towel holder) but my new pots and pans, and my new blender should be here tomorrow! Really hoping I don't make MH regret signing us up ;)

    C/S:

GTKY: What is the one make up / skin care item you couldn't live without? Definitely my Smashbox BB Cream tinted foundation. It has SPF in it and I have really fair skin so I like wearing that as opposed to a sticky spf lotion.
