  • @elizabethrn87 I can totally get behind this. And might be adopting on a daily basis. They make those Edwards frozen pies in single servings. Yum.

Oh I love those! The chocolate one is my favorite. Aaaaand now I want one.
  • Re high chairs...we ditched ours months ago because it took up too much space in our tiny house, so the kiddo eats at the table (which is located in our living room...again, tiny house) in a booster seat with straps to keep him secure. Well apparently tonight before I got home he was eating dinner and my husband stepped away to do something in the kitchen and my son (15 mos) somehow pushed off from the table with such force that the chair fell forward while he was still strapped into his seat, and he somehow managed to land standing up while still strapped in. He was scared but totally fine. So now I'm completely re thinking our eating arrangements...
  • Oh I thought of a confession! Was just posting my wedding photos to the GTKY thread and remembered. We got married over 2 years ago, and to this day, I have completely failed to make a wedding album, hang any wedding photos, or give any photos to parents/family members. I suck. We paid over 3K for photos and all I have to show for it is a few social media posts and one 5X6 framed photo in our bedroom.
  • @zande2016 so scary! glad he is okay!

  • @zande2016 that gives me anxiety. We ditch high chairs as soon as possible. My kids eat better when they have some freedom to move their bodies when they eat. We eat out a lot, (city life) and a lot of places don’t have high chairs so it’s nice for my kids to feel normal there.

  • It just occurred to me reading the high chair posts that my LO is totally ready for the transition...
my confession is that I keep forgetting to feed my dog
  • @lindsayleigh1989 either coconut cream or snickers blitz
  • My FFFC: My Christmas tree (fake) is still up. And decorated. And lit. When you leave it up this long, you really have to commit to it.

Ours is real.. and still hasn't been touched. Haven't had the energy to take anything down. Food, sleep and laundry take precedence (in that order).
  • @lindsayleigh1989 yeah I’ve done no maintenance either. Not looking forward to when DH needs to help.
  • @zombiehoohaa we didn’t either! I mean after the honeymoon who could remember who gave us what! I totally forgot to do with DSs 1st bday. I do appreciate it and i will at least give a phon call or text to say thank you.

@amylu914 Vampirina is a great choice for tv shows. I watch it everyday it’s my daughters new fav.

@zombiehoohaa ugh wedding thank you’s are the worse! I didn’t do my godmothers and a few others but I’ll pretend they got lost in the mail!?

Edited to to reply to @zombiehoohaa

  • @zombiehoohaa yeah I never sent out thank you’s for my wedding. It’s been 7 years...I was super guilty about it for a long time but decided to let go of it and just be extra particular about getting them out now lol
  • I never got around to sending thank you's for my son's first birthday and I feel awful about it, but after nearly 4 months I feel like it's too late now and I think I lost the list of gifts. I also never sent thank yous for my work shower from my son and always felt guilty about it, but honestly it's amazing I got them out from my regular shower and I think pregnant ladies should be given a pass. I had to have my husband write them all because my hands had such bad swelling and carpal tunnel I couldn't really write.
  • Count me in for forgetting thank you cards. Granted, we got married in Sept- I kept telling myself “technically we have a year.” But let’s be honest, it’s not happening now.
DS is 2.5 and I haven’t sent out thank you cards since he was in utero... I’m the worst.
  • Ugh. The thank yous. I sent most of mine out but there are about 4 or 5  that were filled out with nice hand written personal sentiments, stamped, sealed, just not delivered because they needed address updates. They are sitting on my desk. We were married 16 months ago.  :#
  • I always do thank you cards and send them no later than 2 weeks after the event. However, to this day I have NEVER received one from anyone else. Same with christmas cards. I have been having an internal debate on whether to stop because obviously no one else in my circle does it, or to keep going since it's the right thing to do

Also didn't so thank you cards. I wrote most of them, then lost them and couldn't bring myself to rewrite them. I found them when we moved 3 years later. I had guilt over it for a while mainly because my mom is a major traditionalist in that area and I knew it was causing her heartburn. Meh, over it now.
  • I never sent out thank yous either... i wrote them. Just didn’t send them out. Ha!
  • @cseley321 awww don't stop!!! I'd send u one right now if I could! Lol. Thank yous and paper cards in the mail are a lost art form so I think they are really appreciated when sent. Your friends and family may not be as good sending back but I bet they think it great of you.
  • We had 70 people at the wedding and minus 3-4 distant relatives of DH we are super close to everyone who attended. We snapped a photo of us at the end of the night by the band looking completely exhausted and I printed that on the cards with the caption "planning a wedding is exhausting, thanks for being there on our special day ". Used Vista print, basic stamps, and knocked those out 2 months after the wedding for less than $50. Most people bought items from the registry and the website logged their names and addresses, so this is one of the rare occasions when I was on top of it! We also sent some Polaroid pictures that guests had taken along with the thank you cards.
  • Thanks ladies! I definitely don't feel as guilty anymore. I have them, wrote some of them, even sealed some. Just never got to the actual send part. Getting back to reality after planning a wedding then going on a honeymoon...eeesssshhh! The struggle is real. I did thank many of the guests in person (we had 80 people, most family). So it wasn't that big of a deal. I just felt SUPER guilty. Now you ladies made me feel better!

@celainev I send out Christmas cards most years with an updated picture of my family/ kids. I don’t write anything about us because I update pretty regularly on social media. I DO like getting updates from some of our close friends and family who don’t over share. I think it would be self centered if you’re an over sharer and everyone already know so everything.
  • My aunt does this. The only section I ever read is the part about her cat because that part is hilarious. @celainev
  • @amylu914 that is hilarious. If we ever get our shit together to do Christmas cards, I might do that.
  • @amylu914 the prints can be horrendous and awesome but man the comfort!!

another confession: I have done like zero maintenance down there for far longer than I should admit too and I finally got too annoyed lol but definitely feeling a little embarrassed haha
I am guilty here too! Between toddler and preggo fatigue self-care is out the window.  I finally shaved my legs but it was only because they started hurting in leggings if a hair got stuck in the wrong direction... sorry not sorry...  i've also apparently given up on my eyebrows and those random stray neck and chin hairs that showed up last pregnancy

my confession is i've given up on normal clothes at work - last week i broke out the maternity dress pants and started wearing my black converse.  Haven't told anyone i'm pregnant so I'm just kind of staring people down daring them to ask lol.  I'm comfortable, my bulging disc hurts just a little less, and I don't care!
