How old are your other kids? DS is going to be 4 in May.
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Rant- DS has been hard to wake up and get out the door this week, which has been stressing me out. Rave- We have a three day weekend this weekend! Question- Those with two or more in school/daycare- how do you handle drop off/pick up with your spouse? I am starting to get some anxiety about dropping two kids off at two different places and getting to work on time. Is it better to divide and conquer with one of us being responsible for each or to have one person handle drop off of both kids and one person handle pick up of both kids?
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again? Eat haggis. I tried it in Scotland and I have never tasted anything so gross in my life.
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- DS is recovering from the flu and he's reverted a bit with the potty training as a result. We are working to get him back on track.
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again? Ride the big rollercoaster in town. But... I always say that and somehow I get talked into doing it every now and then. Other than that... Probably never jump off the Olympic height high dive at one of the local facilities. That was terrifying. I think I'm developing a fear of heights. @mileswithmyles I've never tried that. What did it taste like? Also I have the opposite problem with DS... He wakes up too damn early all the time lol Mom needs more sleep kid!
How old are your other kids? 5yo daughter and 21mo twin boys
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- they're all super fun right now. The boys personalities are in full bloom. They're really getting silly, talking more, they are wild as ever and a bit ornery, but like most can go from being rotten to giving super sweet grins. Our daughter is becoming more and more of a little mama. She loves to surpise me by picking up messes and changing her brothers diapers, even though we've never asked her to do it. She lives to help cook and do dishes. I think it's safe to say we're all going to miss her like crazy when she goes to kindergarten.
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again? I honestly can't pinpoint one thing, or maybe it's pregnancy brain!? Ha.
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Rave: ILs offered to watch the girls while we go hunting at the ranch this weekend (closest thing we’ll get to a baby moon this time, I think) RANT: I’m currently holding a feverish toddler instead of packing to leave town tomorrow. And we live in one of the top flu-stricken counties in the US right now so I’m praying it’s not that.
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again? 1st trimester Also, bangs.
@mileswithmyles I actually didn’t hate haggis, but I can totally see why people are averse.
@onesmallcoconut I’m sorry you’re dealing with pt regression after having a bout with flu... DD2 has been regressing- like she gets to the toilet but pees while she is pulling her pants down- but she doesn’t have the flu excuse.
@SaVy_05 My oldest just turned 5 and I’m hoping she’ll become that helpful soon!
@onesmallcoconut, thank you! It is a lot of fun! We all definitely have our tough moments, but of course we absolutely love it! I'm sure #4 will bring a whole new level of chaos, but again we keep thinking "what's one more?" Ha
@onesmallcoconut, I've definitely developed a fear of heights as I got older, especially now with having kids. I think that's normal. The older you get the more you realize your own mortality.
How far along are you? 21w3d
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Don't Know Yet? Team green (for now!!! A/s this afternoon so hopefully I can stick with it.
How old are your other kids? 2 year old twins (25 months)
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Rants- Really sick of this 2 year sleep regression. We've been in it for months and I'm so over them staying up until almost 9. It's testing our patience and keeps us from having adult time, aka conversation and tv, haha. DS has had a fever the last 2 days. He's normally super independent and nice. Right now he's super clingy, really whiney, and throwing a lot of tantrums. It's exhausting. And DD is seeing him get more attention so she is acting out because of it. So even more exhausting.
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again? Hmmm... I don't know. Probably a big wedding, haha. I'd love to do a vow renewal with DH once our kids are older and can participate, but it'd be small. I guess I would never skydive again. It was fun, but for a few major reasons, I'll never do it ever again.
@suchaglencoco good point!! And wait... there's a 2year sleep regression? Oh man that explains a lot about DS lately. Also +1 for not throwing another big wedding. That shit was stressful and I can think of better ways to spend the money. Not that I plan on getting married again that is. This one is for keeps.
I am pretty sure there's a regression, haha. A lot of my d15 moms have been having sleep issues on and off the last couple of months so I'm assuming there is!
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Yesterday, DD told me in a very calm tone that she was "very mad at (me)" after I didn't have time to finish reading her a story that DH started before leaving midway to go to work. It was hilarious and also really amazing as it did not involve crying or any other tantrum-y things. I hope she does it again!
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again? Try to visit relatives in another country that don't speak English! DH and I tried this several years ago and basically we wasted almost a whole day sitting in a restaurant (not even meeting the relatives) when we could have been exploring an amazing city.
@MissusTexas OMG! I had bangs until I was 19 years old! And not the cool, side-swept kind. :-)
@MissusTexas@maplemom18 I get these urges every.... 6 months or so... to get bangs. I actually have someone at work who has agreed to not let me get them and talks me off the edge whenever I'm close lol.
@suchaglencoco I wouldn't be able to hold out, lol! DS has been procrastinating bed time lately and it has cut into our adult time as well and it is really frustrating. I have such a small window in between when he goes to bed and before I crash and I love having that time to unwind with DH and watch TV or talk.
@maplemom18 I love when they say phrases like that. DS told us recently "I need space" when he was mad at something we said or did. It was hilarious.
@mileswithmyles, yes. We need that time to unwind ourselves!
A/s looked great from the techs perspective. We're waiting to confirm with ob. I was also told I have an anterior placenta so I may not be feeling much yet. She laughed when I said I've been feeling them for weeks and have even seen and felt movement on the outside. She didn't fully believe me until she saw how much lo kept bouncing around during the scan. And we held out on team green!!! We didn't look and didn't even attempt to look!!! DH couldn't believe I did it.
@onesmallcoconut bummer on the PT regression and flu! Sick babes are the worst! mileswithmyles The pick up/drop off thing terrifies me too! But DH works out of town so most of the time I won’t have a choice but to do both with both kids. FX we can all figure out a routine during MAT leave! @SaVy_05 my DS is in the same stage as your twins, it’s so frustratingly adorable! @MissusTexas +1 for baby moon! Take it while you can! So sorry for sick babe though! Hopefully it passes soon! @suchaglencoco congrats on staying team green! I couldn’t do it this morning but am always in awe of you mommas that can! @maplemom18 LOVE those random comments that comeback out of no where!

Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Rants: so ready for tax season to start, I HATE being bored all day Raves: Finding our LO was a girl this morning pretty much shocked me, I’d convinced myself I was getting all boys! Question: Daycare drop off tantrums! How do you handle the complete meltdowns when you hand them off and walk away!? It breaks my heart!
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again?
Get a puppy during tax season...so much potty training disasters!
@mamaimmoos I hand him off and walk away. It sucks and feels so counterintuitive, but I think it’s what best. Staying reinforces the behavior. At DS’s school, they tell us that if we say goodbye, we need to actually leave. If a child is having a hard time, they walk over and say, “Let me help you.” They will hold them and get them engaged in some activity.
@suchaglencoco way to stay strong! I think it would be the most amazing surprise but I don’t know if I could hold out.
How far along are you? 19 weeks
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Don't Know Yet? We find out next week!
How old are your other kids? 16 months
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- i asked DS today if he is going to be a good big brother and he shook his head and said no, but then he kissed my belly so there’s hope lol Is anyone else still nursing? I planned to start weaning after he turned 1 but he really wasn't interested. It didn’t matter to me until I got pregnant. Now I really don’t like it. It’s uncomfortable and sometimes I even feel like I am having a panic attack or something like that while nursing and then I feel like a bad mom because I feel that way. We’ve cut it down to just nap time, bed time and if/when he gets up in the middle of the night. But it hasn’t been easy.
GTKY- I’d say cosleeping because it’s been a rough habit to break but I’m sure exhaustion will kick in with this one and we will do it again
@onesmallcoconut , I'm so sorry DS got the flu! It's so tough when they're sick! Hopefully he feels better soon and potty training will go back to normal. @suchaglencoco, I'm sorry your DS isn't feeling well and that DD is acting out. There's so much sickness going around! Here's hoping whatever he has passes quickly! @mamaimmoos, dropping off a little one throwing a tantrum makes me feel like the worst mommy! A friend of mine who used to own a daycare told me to set up a goodbye routine. Give hugs, kisses, say bye and go. She said most of the time they're completely fine a couple minutes later but the routine will just signal to them that mommy is leaving. DS went through this when he switched daycares. It's terrible to leave when your child is crying hysterically and yelling "Don't leave me, mommy!"
How far along are you? 20 weeks Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Don't Know Yet? Girl! How old are your other kids? I'm thinking about taking a half day off at work to come home and rest. I don't think I'm running a fever so I don't think I need to see a doctor. Just sucks being pregnant and sick.
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again?
I'm not sure. I've never been super daring so I haven't done anything crazy. Add me to the fear of heights list though!
@JNCPro3130 hope you feel better soon! Pregnancy and sickness is rough, especially with kids to take care of.
@mileswithmyles it changes from moment to moment. They are all a ton of fun, but they are into everything! I feel like our house is Fort Knox with all the gates and locks. They're wild ones!
Ugh... Y'all I thought we were almost finished recovering from the flu... But now DS's symptoms have changed from the front end to the back end. And DH is out of town for work until tomorrow evening. Its been almost a week straight of taking care of my flu-addled boys (DS + DH) and the household while struggling with a cold myself that has been lingering since Boxing Day and being crazy busy at work. I thought we were close to being in the clear with the tummy flu! Just gonna whine here because I gotta be strong irl
Edited to add I have to stay home from work now and its so busy and my boss is away so I'm reporting to my director and he's probably gonna be pissed that I can't come in. Ahhhhh
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- My daughter is such a good eater but lately she's been throwing a fit any time she finishes all of her food or her milk. I'm pretty sure she's getting enough but I don't think she'd ever stop eating if we didn't cut her off. I'm really hoping this is just a phase because it can turn into a full blown meltdown sometimes.
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again?
This is a good question! I'll probably never shotgun/funnel/chug a beer again. I used to be a champ when I was in my prime but I don't think I'd physically be able to anymore.
@clee5711 I had to cut back on nursing starting when I was about 8 weeks pregnant because my milk supply was dwindling. I nursed my daughter before bed and during the night up until her 1st birthday so it's now been about two weeks since we've fully weaned. The hardest part was cutting out the MOTN feeding. My husband had to be the one to go in her room or else she'd be really mad at me for not feeding her. But it's all good now and she's been sleeping 11 hours straight at night.
@fraufarbissina funneling a beer is definitely something I will not be doing again. Same with taking shots. Yes, the middle of the night one is proving to be the most difficult. So far when my husband tries to get him DS losses his mind crying, screaming and pointing to the door for me.
@mileswithmyles yes love the belly kisses and sometimes he will wave and say hi baby.
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Hitting... Please tell me this is an actual PHASE and not just a new part of his reign of terror?
GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again? Umm... Be pregnant? I really don’t like it
@ivyvines6 I don't really like being pregnant either! And I haven't even had a tough time. I have a couple of friends who profess to just love it (they've both had 2 kids), and I cannot for the life of me understand why they think it's so great.
I don't know. It's been a long week and if I wasn't pregnant, I would totally funnel and beer tonight while my mom has the twins overnight. DH and I are going out to a basketball game with some of his family and he said he may have a beer or 2, but doesn't really want to. I said he has to drink a beer because I really want one right now and cannot partake, ha.

Girl twins will be 4 in May Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Rant-Oh, so much this week. I can't wait for it to be over. Rave- Three day weekend! No questions. They've been pretty cranky and whiny this week which isn't helping my temperament either after a shitty week at work. GTKY: What is something you will NEVER do again? I'm with everyone saying being pregnant or first tri. We have no intentions of having another child. Although my first instinct was to say "Go to Las Vegas." It was cool to be there and to be able to experience it, but I have no desire to ever go back.
@fraufarbissina As long as what she's eating is healthy, I really wouldn't worry about her eating too much. She may just be having a growth spurt and need the extra calories. @suchaglencoco sorry you're having such a tough week. Maybe it's the weather changes!! @onesmallcoconut I hope the plague leaves your house soon, and everyone starts to feel better! @JNCPro3130 Hope you feel better soon, too! @ivyvines6 Thankfully my kids haven't been big hitters (yet, anyway....fingers crossed) but from what I've heard it's usually a phase. Good luck!

@sandbar517 that's a good point, maybe it's a growth spurt. I swear she eats as much as me sometimes and I'm grown, pregnant woman! Sorry you've had such a hard week but now you have a 3 day weekend to look forward to!!
@fraufarbissina Thanks! Yeah, I've definitely noticed there are times when my girls will go weeks with hardly eating anything, and then there are days (like this past weekend) when they almost finish a box of cereal by themselves.

Good luck!
Too many other people to tag. Sorry for anyone I missed!
