@Firemanswife11 I've been having tons of discharge. I had so much today that I thought I was bleeding, but nope, thankfully it was just discharge (snot-looking, as you described it). My doctor said it's perfectly normal as long as it's a normal color.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@hardlyhannah the earliest that I was able to get it was around 8w (8 & 2 I believe with my little guy. We used someone else's last time, so DH wanted to buy our own this time). Even the dr told me realistically it could be 12 weeks, in office, before they can find it. But added that 9-10 weeks was typical.
@Firemanswife11 Could it be the mucus plug? I had to look up wtf it was, and what it looked like, after reading about it, and yeah it's a looks like a large gooey snot booger.
@Firemanswife11 I would say probably a piece of mucus plug. It regenerates your entire pregnancy. And any excess irritation (like the pap, sex or later if they check for dilation) can cause you to lose small chunks.
Has anyone been experiencing cramping? I've had some on and off throughout the pregnancy, but tonight is a little more uncomfortable. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and have seen a heartbeat. Cramping is always unsettling!

^ it's funny you say that because o was having cramping around weeks 4&5 and then it stopped yesterday I had some cramping and I turned 8 weeks today. Maybe there's a growth surge? I'm nervous too, but there's no spotting so I hope it's normal.
@Funnygirl34 - cramping can be totally normal but it's never a bad idea to put in a call to your OB / midwife. They can tell you what to look out for and what to do for the cramps.
FWIW I have had cramping with both my pregnancies, the first didn't stop until about 12 weeks. They felt just like period cramps. I hope yours stop soon!
Thanks ladies for your feedback. I haven't really noticed anything else, so I am sure all is fine. Sorry I am having to post and run so I can't tag you all.
This may seem like a stupid question. But for those of you that have thrown up from morning sickness... Do you feel better after throwing up? My mom insists this is true. I feel like I’m physically incapable of throwing up, I just feel like I’m going to all day long.
@lalala2004 I do usually feel better for a bit after throwing up. It usually comes back though(especially if I don't eat or drink during the "feeling better" period).
@Funnygirl34 I had cramping the first 2 weeks and now this week, nothing. I’m 7w on Friday, so the anxiety definitely picked up when the cramping went down! It was the same with my DS, so I just remind myself of that! My boobs still hurt and I have massive daily headaches, so I those are still reassuring, LOL!
@lalala2004 oh girl I am so sorry you’re feeling so rough! I really hope you feel better soon!
Thanks. I feel really bad whining and complaining. Especially since I know others have it worse than me. I wanted to get pregnant so bad. I optimistically thought I would have another super easy pregnancy. I was naively all “I loved being pregnant!” I guess I’m just in survival mode until 2nd Tri when this (hopefully) subsides. I’m really fortunate in that I’m very healthy and rarely get sick. The problem is that when I do, I don’t handle it well emotionally....
@lalala2004 I’m in the exact same boat. I keep trying to remember that Gal Gadot filmed Wonder Woman in her first tri with no one knowing, so I should be able to at least be slightly productive, but it’s getting to me mentally and emotionally. I feel so bad complaining though
@lalala2004 and @kburg15 and anyone else, please don’t feel bad for complaining about what pregnancy is doing to your body. You’re growing a human! That in itself is a rockstar accomplishment! You’re allowed to complain! And we’ll be here to listen and offer creepy internet hugs and maybe make suggestions of what might help. Big hugs to anyone feeling crummy today. And sorry if this is a little too unicorn glitter fart for anyone, here’s a funny cat gif
Does anyone else feel insatiable hunger at night? I feel like I'm in a pickle because if I eat right before bed, I feel nauseous...so I have a yogurt like an hour before bed. I keep almond milk at my bedside and that seems to help but being super hungry can turn into super nausea in the mornings so I've been munching on pretzels and peanut butter, but I'm waking up like 4-5 times a night to snack because I'm super hungry! Does anyone have any tricks to sleeping through the night without starving? Is there some kind of shake I can drink? Btw I'm 8 weeks and 3 days... and im gluten and dairy intolerant. Thanks guys!
I felt like that all the time. Knock on wood I haven't vomited yet, but week five and six I was nauseous all day long so I started taking b6 with unisom and it helps me get through the day! Hang in there.
@VireoStreet I know there are some ladies on here who are drinking something like Carnation instant breakfast as soon as they wake up, before getting out of bed. Not sure if it's dairy / gluten free though. Do you normally drink a protein shake or something similar? Snacks by the bed are a good idea! If you can have something that has a good amount of protein it might help to keep you fuller longer.
@Funnygirl34 yes to the cramping! I try and remind myself baby is growing in there and things have to stretch and move. I notice it more on days I’ve been more active and sitting or laying down helps some. Also, cramping supposedly worsens with each pregnancy (according to my OB). I’m finding that to be true!
@lalala2004 I do feel better after puking briefly but not for long. You still couldn’t get your Diclegis filled? I was hoping that would work out for you because it has honestly helped me a lot. I know you posted something about trying over the counter stuff first? I’m so sorry you’re feeling bad.

Yeah, they won’t give it to me until I’ve tried unisom+b6 for 5 days.
@lalala2004 I just got my diclegis today and it kind of helped. I’m in the same boat as you, nausea all day, no puking, but a general blah feeling but lots of burping that often feel like it could be vomit but who knows?! It’s awful! If I eat protein I’m ok for an hour or so but then it comes right back. I joked today that I should bake a whole chicken and just keep it with me, lol.
@lalala2004 yes, but it’s not that bad and eventually (in my case) it’ll stop making you so sleepy. I take the highest dosage, you can always lower your dose. The alternative is barfing for me, so I’m all for diclegis.
rosalie0208 Interesting! Well this is my third pregnancy, so that could definitely be why it's feeling so intense.

@lalala2004@kburg15 I'm right there with you ladies unfortunately. This nausea is wearing me down like crazy. I can tell my husband is tired of hearing me complain and I was so sick with my first, so I don't know why this is surprising me. I guess I just forgot how debilitating the nausea really is and I also didn't have a toddler that required feeding 3 times a day. Anyone else having trouble cooking? I just started b6 and unisom today so I'm hoping and praying it works for me! I feel like such a baby and like something is wrong with me because I know so many women who just seem to breeze through pregnancy with no problem!
When is everyone telling their other children? I want to tell my son, but it was so hard with my last loss to explain to him I wasn’t pregnant anymore. He took it like a champ, but I haven’t told him yet because I don’t want to get his hopes up just in case. I’m thinking of after my first u/s?
@lalala2004 I also feel like I’m going to throw up all day, most days. The times I have thrown up, I can’t seem to stop. I threw up about 8 times in 5 hours on Wed. It made me feel better in that my sinuses were finally clear afterward, but my stomach & abs hurt the rest of the day, and I just felt sick. I’m actually handing in my notice at my PT job today - I’m the bookkeeper for a local restaurant - because I can’t stand to be there around the food aromas this pregnancy.
@cthulu I’ve told my son too, but he’s only 2.5 so I wasn’t too worried about him telling everyone. He doesn’t fully get it, just knows he can’t jump on Mommy because “baby” and says he wants a baby brother if asked but I don’t think he’s thinking or talking about it if we’re not prompting him.
@cthulu I told my son on Christmas Eve so he could announce to our family on Christmas. He’s 7yo, and he understands what’s going on. **TW** I’ve had 2 MC, but both were before 8 wks, and DH & I had a good feeling about this one. I also suspect both MC’s had at least something to do with the massive quantities of Mt. Dew I consumed throughout my 20’s. *End TW •.
I called my OB this morning after another morning of putting off my PT bookkeeping job at the local Italian restaurant d/t horrible nausea. The nurse is having the OB call me in a Rx when she’s out of surgery. I’m going to pick it up this afternoon and go to work tomorrow. If I can start eating somewhat normally again and get my cold & cough to clear up, I’ll be feeling pretty good.
See my son is 5 so he understands, but has no filter so he tells everyone lol. I’ll probably tell him after my first appointment or first u/s, just wanted to see what other moms were doing. @melprop I hope the meds help!
@cthulu we won't tell DD1 until we have told family and friends because she'll blab haha. She understood what was happening my previous pregnancy and was under 2 years old, so she gets it. DD2 is 7 months old so I don't expect her to have any idea what is happening at any point.

@neeraja_k I wouldn’t expect to see mucus plug lost until much later, but even then, it can regenerate itself.
