I’m looking at the new Tula that can be used with a 7 lb baby without an infant insert. I loved my Moby, but it was a PITA to tie and very warm during the summer. I tried a couple cheaper Infantino carriers but wasn’t thrilled. I will say, though, the Moby was a lifesaver when my uncle died in FL and I flew down with DS for the funeral. One backpack that doubled as a diaper bag, one rolling carry-on, DS in the Moby, and I gate-checked the infant seat. I flew standby on a buddy pass and didn’t have to worry about my luggage not following me.
I HATED the moby. Look into Ring Slings too, those were a lifesaver for me with DS when he was too small for a Tula. I also will be looking at the free to grow ones this time around but the RS is super easy to throw on and put baby into.
Before the Tula I used the Boba wrap. I would wear a tiny tank with a nursing bra so he got some skin to skin time while he was snuggled in there. It's the only way I got anything done those first few weeks at home.

What is everyone’s recommendations for pregnancy Pillows? I keep seeing this one (https/bodpillow.com/) pop up on Facebook, and am wondering if someone has tried it.

@princesslockness I just had a regular old body pillow for both previous pregnancies and it was fine and only $25. I actually continued using it between pregnancies because sleeping on my side with the support of the pillow made my back feel a lot better than sleeping on my stomach used to. DH keeps wanting to get it out of the bed but I refuse! It's a king bed, we have plenty of room haha.
@delujm0 I am also team regular body pillow! I had a snoogle, but I always felt too big and I would get caught up in it a lot, ha! I bought a regular body pillow with DS and I’ve continued to sleep with it ever since as It also helps my back/hip pain. DH also hates it!

Lifestyle (house, apartment, travel often, etc): House, but we lived in a 1br apt when DS1 was born and I’ve kept the minimalist approach. We travel at least 1-2x per month, and tent camp a lot.
Favorite [sleep surface]: we’ve gotten by far the most mileage out of a premium PNP with newborn napper, changing table, and bassinet. We never bought a crib or changing table. DS1 (now 19 months) slept in the newborn napper for 3-4 months and then another 1-2 mo in the raised bassinet until he started rolling. The napper was foldable/portable like a RNP which worked for travel and napping in the living room. DS still sleeps in the PnP in his own room and will until we transition to a twin bed, and we use the fold-down changing table every day. I love that it’s all-in-one and I haven’t filled my attic with sleeping surfaces that were each only used for 2 months.
Is there a [sleep surface] you've tried that you absolutely hate? Why?: we had a RNP too, which I definitely didn’t hate, but it was redundant with the newborn napper on the PnP but less compact and we honestly didn’t use it much. DS1 didn’t like the rocking function also (weird kid).
Bonus: if you travel a lot, consider a lightweight travel crib. We have the Lotus travel crib, which is awesome. DS sleeps better in it than hotel cribs because it’s a familiar space. It’s way lighter than the PnP. It has a zip-down side which is great for camping in a small tent. My only complaint is that the mattress is a bit fiddly to attach with Velcro straps. I’ve heard good things about the Bjorn travel crib too but we got the Lotus because of the zip down side.
Additional thoughts on [sleep surfaces]?: I’m a stickler for safe sleep. I am a pediatric medical professional and sadly I’ve seen too many cases of preventable suffocation. I get the need for mommy sleep... really, I do (my first was a cluster-feeder forever) but not at that cost. Just my two cents.

FTM here.. we have started looking at baby furniture. We live in a small two bedroom apartment. I've highly considered just getting one of the newer pack and plays ( I think the name is Cuddle Cove by Graco).. it has a bassinet, changer and little storage area. When I told my MIL about it, she got furious and said that baby absolutely needed an actual crib. I can't help but think of what a wonderful option that pnp would be. It would be very budget friendly also it's like eliminating three pieces of bulky furniture. Has anyone else used a pack and play as an actual crib before?
@smsaulino Then she can get an 'actual crib' for the occasion that you are her house. Unless she is going to buy it outright for you, she can stuff it.

I absolutely loved the Arms Reach Cosleeper. I feel like it gets overshadowed by the Halo but is actually a better option. It’s more affordable, and you can use standard changing pad covers as sheets instead of shelling out more dough to buy proprietary sheets for the thing. Plus, when DS was mostly STTN, we put the side up and wheeled him to the guest bedroom where he slept until his crib and nursery were ready so we could get our bedroom back. It essentially becomes a mini PNP. I feel it’s way more comfortable than the Halo as far as the sleeping surface went, plus it had tons of pockets for storage. I stuffed it with burp clothes and extra clothes and swaddles and always had everything I needed in the MOTN. I’m hoping #2 likes it as much as DS did.
FTM I love this post so much! I've already been told multiple times I don't need a crib (insert eye roll) but you ladies have really given me so much to think about.
