Hey guys, since no one started a new week I thought I'd step up.
1. How far along are you? What is your EDD?
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having?
3. When is your next appointment?
4. Anything else you'd like to share?
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? Are they mom-friendly (e.g. flex scheduling, lactation space)?
Re: First Trimester Check-in - Week of January 8
1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 8 weeks today EDD: 8/20
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having? My appetite seems to be getting better which is a relief. Meanwhile, my boobs hurt a little extra today
3. When is your next appointment? I graduated from my RE last week so my first OB appt is Feb 6 - feels like ages away.
4. Anything else you'd like to share? Jan 22 will be last day of meds. No more PIO shots!!! I can't wait.
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? Are they mom-friendly (e.g. flex scheduling, lactation space)? I work for a non-profit with a great benefits package and lots of vacation time but our maternity leave benefits suck and we just have FMLA. I'm not sure I will be coming back after the baby is born.
2017 - egg retrieval #1 - 3 eggs, 0 embryos appropriate for transfer; ER #2 2 eggs, 0 embryos on day 3; ER #3 1 egg 0 embryos

Nov 2019 FET; MC at 9 weeks

Take a look at my blog
1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 6w2d, 9/1/2018
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having? sore boobs and afternoon fatigue
3. When is your next appointment? 1/11- first ultrasound, the last 2 weeks have been the longest of my life!!!
4. Anything else you'd like to share? Relieved to have this space of ladies who understand are seem extremely normal! I've lurked on some of the other regular pg boards here and the girls seem a little aggressive lol. Staying in my PGAIF safe zone thank you very much!
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? Are they mom-friendly (e.g. flex scheduling, lactation space)? Well...this one makes me LOL because I am an attorney with my own small practice. My husband and I work together (he runs the business side) and since I am the only attorney there really is no option for me to take a proper leave. We keep joking that I will take a 1/2-day when I deliver. In the long run this set up will be great because we do have flexibility but I realize that the newborn stage is going to be quite a challenge. I feel like having spent so many years dealing with IF, though, it will allow me to take on the challenge and just BE GRATEFUL for the opportunity to be a mom. If I had gotten pregnant right away I would have been complaining how hard it was I'm sure. The other downside is that the state of health insurance for small business here in the U.S. is awful. There are no options for individual plans for me and the carriers won't write a group policy for husband and wife (crappy!). My paralegal has great insurance through her husband. So....we have a pre-existing condition plan that my husband thankfully held onto when Obamacare passed but this means zero maternity coverage so we are cash pay for the whole pregnancy. Of course, it is still cheaper than having to do IVF as we planned, so again just counting my blessings over here.

2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having? Not many! I had some pulling/very mild cramping for the first several weeks. Now I'm just tired occasionally, a little moody, sometimes starving and occasionally a little nauseous. The lack of symptoms makes me worry!
3. When is your next appointment? Next Tuesday - going in a few days early for my 12w appt.
4. Anything else you'd like to share? Excited to come off PIO injections next week
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? Are they mom-friendly (e.g. flex scheduling, lactation space)? NONE! I'm self employed - and have no idea what I'm going to do yet.

TTC 2013. FET 11/17 - BFP after attempt #6!
@hoff079 and @laurad75 I’m so excited to stop PIO too! Woohoo!
@lablover78 wow I never thought about what it must be like to work for yourself. Makes this stuff extra complicated!
AFM:
1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 9w5d 8/9
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having? My nausea is finally getting better and now I’m just randomly starving out of nowhere.
3. When is your next appointment? Friday is my last RE appointment and I can’t wait! Then I already have my first ob appt on Monday!
4. Anything else you'd like to share? I have ONE shot left!! Wednesday is my last PIO and suppository. I can’t believe it!
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? Are they mom-friendly (e.g. flex scheduling, lactation space)? I’m a teacher so a summer baby means basically NO paid leave, which stinks. Maybe a week or two in September depending on when I actually give birth. I think I’m actually going to take off the whole school year! Unpaid of course. But my job is still guaranteed for the year. Just going back halfway through the year sounds like torture to me. There is some serious budgeting happening in my future haha.

1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 12 weeks 1 day. EDD is July 22
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having? Constipation is the only symptom I really get, but it's ruthless!
3. When is your next appointment? Wednesday is my last RE appointment
4. Anything else you'd like to share?
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? 6 weeks unpaid... since I am back as a part time contractor though, I am getting like 2 weeks
I work entirely at home in my own time though, so it's not a huge deal. The office is small and has 0 ammenities for new moms. I guess we have a conference room and extra bathroom. The office is so small that it wouldn't have been a problem to get privacy. We haven't really run into a pumping mom.. I had quit with my first (on good terms. I wanted to spend time with her and my old job was too demanding, stress and time wise) so I never had any issues.
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having? Diarrhea for basically two and a half weeks (since just before my BFP) which has only recently been accompanied by nausea. But if I’m not on the toilet I’m starving to death. I’ll take it over throwing up though!
3. When is your next appointment? This Friday for an u/s. Should see a heartbeat (I’ll be 7w1d)
4. Anything else you'd like to share?
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? Are they mom-friendly (e.g. flex scheduling, lactation space)? I am incredibly, incredibly lucky that I work for a university in New York State that is committed to work/life balance and has always met or exceeded federal and state guidelines where family leave is concerned. New York State's new 2016 family leave law timeline called for a phased rollout over four years, with the benefit level starting at 8 weeks at 50 percent pay in 2018, and reaching 12 weeks at 67 percent pay in 2021. The university where I work has decided to start at the year-four level beginning this month, so I’m entitled to 12 weeks at 67% pay which I know makes me extraordinarily blessed. They also have 39 lactation rooms across campus and even have a series of 7 after-work “Preparing for Baby” programs for new parents that touch on topics like the benefits we’re entitled to, health and nutrition, breastfeeding, addressing postpartum relationship changes and what to expect in the immediate postpartum. Considering I used to work for county government and would get written up if I had more than two instances of sick leave in one year, I am literally in heaven here.
@sarcasticowl so sorry about the diarrhea. That sounds awful.
Congrats to all of you getting off the PIO shots, I'm quite jealous. Curious people's thoughts on keeping going with the PIO shots vs doing suppositories. I can apparently choose at the end of Jan.
@Crystal321 constipation sucks. I had it with my last pregnancy and when I would finally go, I often clogged the toilet. Ew. Drink lots of water!
hoff079 I think its normal to worry, but sounds like you're actually having plenty of symptoms.
laurad75 congrats on graduating. So exciting

1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 5w4d Sept 6, 2018. Second Beta was today-15,000! Yea
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having? Burping. So embarrassing. I've been on winter break and it's basically just been me and the hubs, so I was just burping whenever, wherever. Then last night a couple friends came over to watch the golden globes and i like forgot one does not just burp whenever when company is over. My friend just like looked at me. I was all, 'scuse me. Then today, I work closely with someone, and I ended up getting my second Beta while we were meeting. So I ended up just telling her bc I couldn't hide it. But as she was leaving today, she's like, I heard you burp today and I knew you must be pregnant and I wanted to ask but I knew I shouldn't! Well, that's embarrassing huh? But how do you not let it out? I feel like I'm being quiet but I guess not.
Other than that, MS comes and goes, today was pretty rough. Some insomnia. Sore boobs, I'm hoping to find a bra that doesn't hurt.
3. When is your next appointment? Friday for first US.
4. Anything else you'd like to share?
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? Are they mom-friendly (e.g. flex scheduling, lactation space)? Well, I'm an educator and I will have about 30 days of sick days and then I can take up to 45 of extended sick which is minus the sub pay. Kinda sucks, but I guess I could cobble together about 15 weeks off. It will be at the start of the school year, which is kind of annoying, obviously the ideal is getting summer with the baby, but after all we've been through, timing was just not something I could worry about anymore.

gfgrump I chose to continue doing the injections because we had a routine going, and it was easier to do one injection in the morning than deal with 3 daily suppositories, the mess, and it just sorta grossed me out. Plus I got the injections down to a science where they really don't bother me at all.

@lablover78 I agree completely, this is a very nice group of ladies and I am very thankful! tbh, I have steered clear of some other boards on the bump until now because it was just adding stress rather than helping. But wow this group is really the right fit for me. We are all in the same mindset and everyone is very nice and accepting.
@sarcasticowl thank you for starting this week, it is appreciated. : ) @lablover78 and @hoff079 I am also self employed (landscape designer) and I understand! In some ways it is liberating because you make the rules, but then again if you aren't working then your business just falls off.
@Crystal321 congratulations on the end of the first trimester- so happy for you! I'm the same in that I work from home.
@mac627 I hear you on the budgeting girl! I've been working on a baby budget spreadsheet for a couple years now,, tbh. It is one of the things I feel in control of and like to tinker with. (how's that for nerdy!)
@gfgrump congratulations on the second beta that is a huge number! I know it is hard to get too excited, but I hope you enjoy the good news!
1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? Well, so I finally got more info on this, I was pretty confused, I know that sounds stupid. So they count the weeks from the day of my ovulation trigger shot then add 2 weeks. So my trigger shot was Dec 13th which was 3 weeks and 6 days ago + 2 weeks = 5 weeks, 6 days. I am very excited to hit 6 weeks tomorrow! So I will be 7 weeks and 2 days next Friday 1/19 when go for first ultrasound. I obsess about counting the days and looking at the risk of mc percentages go down every day. I love that chart and goes along very well with my realistic mindset.
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having? sore boobs, dug out a bag of pregnancy/nursing bras I had thrown in the closet after didn't work out last time. I am so happy to have those as just the small pads and more room help. It's weird because I wouldn't say I'm naseaus, it is more like dizzy all the time. To the point where I feel like I might fall over. Very clumsy and also foggy brain. I also went off zoloft last week as well (it is going just fine) but I keep wondering if it is pregnancy or the lack of zoloft. I had these symptoms also though before going off so leads me to believe it is the former. My stomach hasn't been too bad, just a bit of diarrhea and gas, but I am very hungry this week. Doing my best to keep calories on track and got a bunch of good stuff at whole foods yesterday. I have had the worst bloating though! I've gained 4-6 lbs of water weight alone last week! My nutritionist has me drinking electrolyte water and I also had lemon with my tea last night and woke up a pound lighter today. So I am keeping that up! Finally, they put me on insulin last week as my blood sugar has been rising pretty fast. They told me to increase 5 units every 2 days, but that wasn't doing the trick at all and stressing me out. So I just went up 10 units and I told them that is what I am doing and I finally had 99 fasting glucose (down from 135 yesterday) this morning. I told them I'm going to keep doing jumps of 5 units daily until I get to the under 90 initial goal, then can go up more slowly from there. I'm getting so sick of all these doctors! It is so obvious when they just give you the stock response and don't pay attention to your individual needs! I'm like already stressed, why do I have to argue with them now....ugh. Going to probably ask my myfitnesspal friends about this as well. I have found some good ladies on there with glucose and pcos issues.
3. When is your next appointment? Jan 19th- long way away- it is like a second TWW and just as excrutiating!
4. Anything else you'd like to share? I think I've shared enough...hahah....I did want to tell everyone I am feeling fine after going off the remainder of my zoloft last week. Might be having side affects, but depression and anxiety aren't changed. Breathing techniques are working great, going to therapist again this week, and I am making it a priority to stay calm! I have this one client that I told my collegues I won't be able to work with anymore yesterday. He can take a hike as staying pregnant the next 2 weeks is my highest priority above all else!
Oh one other thing- I'm still struggling with what to tell people. I need some good lines to respond when people ask questions. I randomly told my accountant I'm pregnant yesterday on the phone! (: l I don't know what came over me, I only speak with her a couple times a year and I just really wanted to report the good news. It was so random and I did not feel good about it afterwards. She is just one of those people who has a way of making me feel put down and fishes for info. I think she is trying to connect and be friends, but just makes me feel bad. So for some reason I felt like I wanted to shove it in her face and say- well I'm pregnant again so don't feel sorry for me! Anyway, it will be fine as she doesn't even know anyone I do and won't tell anyone. She is very good with discression. Anyway, I also have brunch plans with a good friend and a very old friend on Saturday. I think I am going to facebook message the good friend and explain that I prefer not to discuss with the very old friend ahead of time. That way she won't press the issue and will help me avoid and be vague. Clearly I need a game plan going into this so I don't blurt it out again! I've been so careful only to tell a handful of family and very close friends (literally 5). And now its kind of funny because only those very important people to me know + plus my random accountant! haha so random!
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? Are they mom-friendly (e.g. flex scheduling, lactation space)? I am self employed and my work is seasonal. Luckily this pregnancy works great with the schedule because fall and winter are my slow months. So I will most likely be able to take off Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec and Jan once baby comes. Then it will be a quick transition back into spring starting around mid Feb next year which is a very busy time for a landscape designer. Last time I was very worried because I would have had baby right in middle of spring! I would have had to let a lot of clients down, or keep working. Hope this goes through because this is perfect timing this time around!
**sorry for any typos!**
TW scan not what we hoped for. RE is very concerned will not develop as it should. Currently yolk sac is too big for gestational sac. Follow up ultrasound next week.

Also, get this you guys: I called my regular OB/GYN today to see when I could get in. I live in a fairly small area that has basically one large practice and one smaller one where the doctor has a reputation for being a douchebag. I love my doctor and have missed him while going to the RE. Long story short, they're booking out right now at the END OF FEBRUARY. There are literally days on end when no babies at all are born at our local hospital and they're booking out almost 2 months for OB appointments??
I almost started crying on the phone. She was like "well we usually tell people to call us when they first find out they're pregnant." Well how am I supposed to know that? I've been going to my RE, who said exactly nothing about when I should reach out to my regular doctor. So she squeezed me in for the u/s with the NT test on February 13, a few days before my 12th week. I realize this is smack in the middle of when people get their NT tests but I had really been hoping for some of the earlier blood work screens at 10 weeks. I feel so freaking defeated right now. Like, I'm just a number at the RE to the point where I decided to call my OB/GYN to set something up because I'm totally over them, and then they're telling me I screwed up. Awesome.
@lablover78 yeah landscape design is fun, but like anything else clients can be intense! Spring is on the horizon too so all the crazies come out and want everything yesterday! It is exciting when it warms up and lots of work and projects, but also exhausting. Haha
5+2, 9/9
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having?
Not that many, tbh. Shortness of breath after doing stairs, weird twinges, BURPING has started @gfgrump, so that's awesome... and the bloat. But mostly I dont "feel" pregnant. I don't look any different, except I'm thicker (from the holidays, obv) only now I'm magically in a different club all of a sudden, and it doesn't feel right. I feel awkward when I hear mommies on the board talking about mommy things. I feel the sting when I see other ppls EDD's that were "supposed" to be mine. (Whether real or imagined). Infertility became such a major part of my identity that, now that we're KU, I don't fit in with the other mommies, but I dont belong with the IFers, either. I feel like an awkward weirdo alien.
3. When is your next appointment?
Next Friday 1/19, 6+5 second u/s
4. Anything else you'd like to share?
Today's first u/s and *third* beta went great!
QOTW: I guess we have 16 weeks STD we can take prior to delivery, and then another 16 weeks mat leave. Also #team not sure if I will go back after baby, and hoping to build the business back up to make that possible.... we'll see tho. My work insurance is covering storage fees and would cover future FETs with no lifetime cap so.... not sure if it will make sense to make it work at least until were done transferring the other 5 embabies. Time will tell.
@sarcasticowl you want to stick with any of the refrigerated probiotics that are unfortunately expensive so I just grab whichever is on sale because they are typically all high quality if chilled.

@BusinessWife I know what you mean about not fitting in with the moms-to-be on other boards. I feel the same way. IF really messes with you! I was so cautiously excited in the beginning that I was barely able to enjoy it. I’m starting to get more excited now!
@hottietoddy that sucks having to deal with so many different doctors!! At least you know you’re doing everything you can to get the best care and you’re your best advocate!
@sarcasticowl ugh that sucks!! My RE didn’t tell me anything about when to contact the OB either. Luckily I made appointments with them when I found out and figured I could cancel them if I was going to my RE still. I won’t be able to do my NT scan till later either because they won’t even let me schedule it until I see them and I can’t see them till I stop seeing my RE! So annoying.

I totally know how you feel about not fitting in. I joined my BMB, but it was so hard to hear about oops babies, and 3rd or 4th pregnancies, plus the women weren't nearly as friendly as the IF ladies. Thankfully, there's the PaIF board!! We all know how hard it is to feel hopeful after such a hard journey... hang in there! Once you start seeing your little one's features on the ultrasound (instead of that tiny little blob with a heartbeat) and start feeling movement, you will start feeling more like the mama you are

1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? 7 Weeks 1 day. EDD is Aug 28. however with twins doubtful I'll get there. I'm shooting for 37 weeks so early August.
2. What pregnancy symptoms are you having? Sore huge boobs, so tired. Had my first Morning Sickness at around Noon today so that's exciting. However immediately afterwards, I had a smidge of spotting but I think its from my cervix and Crinone.
3. When is your next appointment? Tomorrow. I get weekly ultrasounds with my MFM!
4. Anything else you'd like to share? Sorry I've been MIA. I've been so tired and was having mass issues with the webpage and app.
QOTW: What kind of family leave does your employer offer? Are they mom-friendly (e.g. flex scheduling, lactation space)?
None. Just 12 weeks FMLA. I get STD for 8 weeks for a c section. Due to the high cost of daycare for twins ($3600 a month) I'll likely be staying home anyway.
