Re: Weekly Questions (12/24 -12/30)

  • @quinnsmom21 I’m in western PA. I live in a more rural area, about an hour away from my OB & hospital now. The local hospital where I had DS doesn’t have a maternity ward anymore, but back in 2010 I had to go to the hospital for all blood work, tests, u/s, etc. The OB monitored my pregnancy with a Doppler at my regular appts.

  • Sorry for the zombie thread

My urinalysis from my first OB appointment came back and most of it was normal, but I had elevated leukocytes, squamous epithelial cells, and an elevated wbc in my urine. I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor, but anyone have any similar experience? From what I can tell from Doctor Google, I may have a UTI.

  • @jsnakehole yeah, that sounds UTI-ish. Are you having any symptoms at all? I used to have them all the time.
  • @Firemanswife11 none at all. I do have to hold it a lot during the day (teaching doesn't allow for many bathroom breaks). I'm calling my doctor tomorrow- I doubt anyone is in the office with the snowpocalypse going on in NYC.

  • So I have been super naush this time, it consumes me at times and I read about how Diclegis is FDA approved. My doctor prescribed it to me and I just took my first this evening. The nausea has def been subsided by it. I read it could make you drowsy so I’m not sure I’ll take in the morning although that’s my worst time. Anyone with experience or insight?

  • ^^^ None personally but 2 good friends take it. Well One currently and One took it from 8 weeks to 28 weeks. I’ve been sick and they are both telling me to call & get some. I asked my one friend about being tired, and she said she’s not more tired that she felt before. I think she also takes it at night though, but it helps into the next day maybe?
  • @amac12999 thanks for the input! It says take one in evening and am! So I guess I can try today sand see how it goes. I’m already pretty tired so I guess I’d rather just be a bit extra tired and not naush? I’ll let you know how it goes

  • @shri929 let me know. I’m thinking about calling my doctor this morning to ask about it. My nausea/throwing up at night is getting miserable.
  • @shri929 I am on it. I called my doctor for it the first day I had all-day nausea and it has helped tons. I tried not taking it last night to judge how I would feel and it was a mistake haha. It is supposed to be the safest thing to take. Basically Unisom and B6 in an extended release form. I am used to taking Benadryl to sleep (not currently, though) so the drowsiness doesn't bother me. However, it will affect everyone differently. For me, it's a magic pill.
  • @shri929 and @Firemanswife11 my doctor just called in a prescription for me. I can’t keep any food down past 4:00 and am drinking minimal fluids so I’m really hoping it helps!
  • Ok so I forgot to take it this morning but I think it’s just wearing off now! I felt much better this morning than I have been lately. Can’t wait to get home and take one. It really did work quite well.
