1. I think this board is supportive as hell and I happily judge the shit outta anyone who says otherwise.
2. I already signed up for the Amazon baby registry welcome box and got my free gift. I got a new sippy cup for DS and it's proven to be pretty leak-proof no matter how hard he throws it.
Okkkk please don't kick me out of the BMB for this one...
I am approx 8 weeks and I POAS when I was 7 weeks. Whhhy? Well, I had packed two HPTs in my suitcase when I went to Ireland. Because IDK why. One morning, I thought I'd just use one up because why not and I love seeing the line appear. I know, I know. Anyway, the test line came up right away but was much lighter than the control line! Much lighter than it had been a few weeks prior. Proud of myself, I didn't panic, I remembered reading about the Hook Effect so in the name of *ahem* science, I diluted my cup of pee to a solution of approximately 80% water 20% pee. Used this on my remaining HPT and BAM instant dark line, far darker than the control line. So yeah, I did that.
So I have pretty severe anxiety, and I'm not on any medication right now. Mostly it's been okay, but because of it I don't open any of the TW threads. I know what they mean, and I always include the person posting in my prayers, but I just actually can't open them- they are triggering for me.
I don't want people to think I never comment because I'm the other kind of TW (the one akin to a C U Next Tuesday).

@jsnakehole I am really sorry if my comment on another thread about being supportive made you or anyone else feel badly about this, and I am definitely eating crow regarding being insensitive to others' struggles. The whole reason behind trigger warnings is so that people can make the decision whether or not to participate in that thread based on their personal history and/or fears. I definitely notice that you are active on a variety of threads, and you actively engage with other members. I've also never seen you start a SS thread. Again, I apologize if my comment made you feel targeted. It was not my intention.

@lakesideknitter not at all! I feel like people who were on TTGP with me know I tend to stay to the sidelines with more serious topics because of my various anxieties/issues, and I remember saying something to that extent when I first joined there. I figured this is a new board, and not everyone "knows" me in a sense, so I just wanted to clarify.
I do really appreciate your comment and your sensitivity to how your words impact others.
Another FFFC- I usually can't figure out if I should use affect or effect, so I usually avoid that issue by using the word impact. Hopefully my students never ask me to help them with that.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
Another one: I have no work today (snow!!) and DS is at daycare so I could be getting loads done but all I've done is shower, make muffins and eat things. We got back Tuesday and I haven't unpacked all my stuff yet.
I'll probably get flamed for this, butttttt...........I tested positive for RSV on Tuesday and didn't get the results until yesterday. I went to the doctor because I thought I had bronchitis. They tested me for the flu and the results were negative, and no bronchitis so I thought I was just being a baby. Didn't know they also tested me for RSV until I got those results yesterday. Been at work the whole time. I figure if I was going to expose everyone, the damage is already done.
On my days off I lay around doing nothing for the majority of the day, then run around like crazy for an hour or so before DH comes homes getting the house straightened up. I usually tell him that I’ve been doing laundry, cleaning, etc. the entire day.
@jsnakehole I remember someone bringing up affect/effect on TTGP. I always think since affect is a verb, it’s an action, so the A’s go together (affect/action). Effect is the noun by default.
@mrs_drc_rn My office was closed because of snow yesterday and I wanted to lay around and be lazy but H was also working from home and was insistent we be productive. I was so annoyed.

My FFFC is the day I got my BFP I stopped taking my anxiety meds cold turkey. I realize this is not how that was supposed to happen but I actually handled it quite well. I was afraid I would have withdrawals and had I had any symptoms I would have gone straight to my OB but I didn't have to. It feels wonderful not relying on the medicine every day.
I'm wearing maternity jeans today and I'm only 8w4d and a FTM.
I love my maternity jeans! I’ve been tearing my house apart trying to remember where I packed them away last time ! I’m only 7 w1 d and plan on wearing them as soon as I find them !
@jsnakehole Same on the anxiety. I do open the TW threads and I do sometimes comment, but not always. I'm not on medication right now. It's awful.
@calimom2524 I have been able to go off Prozac cold turkey twice. Lexapro is another story entirely. Talk about withdrawals. I will never go on that ish again.
@Firemanswife11 I was on effexor and in the past when I missed taking it one day I would get hella dizzy and I could hardly function. I'm actually really glad I was able to do it this time because I was afraid I wouldn't. When I have baby bean and talk to my OB about going back on meds I do NOT want something as addictive and with such serious withdrawal symptoms as effexor, it was TERRIBLE. Lexapro made me gain a ton of weight and did nothing for my anxiety.
Part of the reason I'm so excited about this baby is that once we have two, it's not financially feasible for me to work outside the home regularly. I am pumped about that (not that there's a damn thing wrong with working mothers, it's just so much more stressful for me, and I stayed home the first year).
I mean, hooray for a sibling for my bug boy, and way to having a bigger family like I always wanted, but also yay not hanging out listening to drunk idiots at the bar hoping for enough tips to make the shift worthwhile.

@juliebird6 I think you are good. You thought you were sick, went, got tested, and were told no for what you thought you had. You didn't know it was something other than a bad cold after your quick results, so all good in my book.

My not so flameful confession I enjoy lurking other boards, well on July 18 is a post “ my pregnancy hacks” I peed my poor pregnant self from giggling so hard.
I'm jealous of those of you wearing maternity clothes already...I gave all of mine to my sister after DD2 was born, and she gave birth in November but still has them. I don't want to tell her I am pregnant yet, and I don't know how else to get them back! Fortunately I work from home 3 days days a week and my sweat pants fit just fine haha. My mom is driving down in March for a week so I'll have her bring them down with her then I guess. I'll just wear stretchy dresses to work until then.
I will say that with #2 I gained 5lbs and got bloated immediately, but this time, because I'm still breastfeeding a 6.5 month old, I lost 6lbs over the holiday week, even though I ate like a cow person. And then I realized that if I don't eat like an actual elephant, I don't make enough breast milk. I guess I'm basically an Olympic athlete now. I'm gonna use this as an excuse to not exercise and eat like a whale, and then when DD2 moves to cow milk in June (i can't handle pumping for more than a year, but I'll still nurse her at night if she wants) and I have to scale my food consumption back down to that of a normal person, I'm going to complain about it. So prepare yourselves for that.
@delujm0 Dying at "cow person." I am up exactly 5 lbs since my BFP on 12/1, so that is reassuring that I am not alone. Part of it is honeymoon but most is only wanting to eat cheesy carbs and having no energy to be active. Last night I napped while DH cooked dinner and then ate three loaded fajitas.

Don't feel bad, I've POAS once a week until my dating US with all three pregnancies. it just makes me feel better. To avoid the hook effect, after the 4 week mark, I just use middle of the day, fully hydrated pee rather than the first pee of the morning. I drink so much water, that it basically self-dilutes to an appropriate level. :-)
Honestly, this time I used middle of the day pee on my initial test, but that is because I didn't think there was any way I was pregnant again. Oops. But I was at least 4 weeks at the time, probably closer to 4.5, so it wasn't early enough that FMU was a necessity.

I just POAS last night because I've been feeling "too good." Almost all of the symptoms, other than headaches and exhaustion, have faded away so I started getting worried. My DH thought I was going crazy, but got the test for me anyway. Everything is good, and now I have the piece of mind until my dating US on the 11th.
I have to admit, I've been very confused by all the POAS. I'm glad it makes you all feel better - it just would never cross my mind! I had no idea it was a thing until this BMB.

I was thinking about POAS this weekend. Only did one originally and my dating US is on the 10th. I keep thinking "what if I've been crazy this whole time?!"
I just ate my 2 year old daughter's ice cream from dq while she was napping. It just looked so good. I hope she doesn't remember it existed
Hahah I ate all of our Christmas cookies and candies this last weekend except I left exactly 1 of each item in the tray. My DH was so disappointed when he discovered it.
