I have to admit, I've been very confused by all the POAS. I'm glad it makes you all feel better - it just would never cross my mind! I had no idea it was a thing until this BMB.
I’ve never POAS after my initial BFP with my first 2 because I’m basically too cheap to buy another test. But now after these comments, I'm super tempted. I’ve never seen a dark line.
My FFFC - I’m more worried about mode of transportation than anything else about this pregnancy right now. Three kids...I’m gonna need a mini van. And I don’t want one. I told DH if we ever got a van I want one of those dinosaurs saying “I ate your stick figure family” stickers and the “I used to be cool” sticker ha. But seriously it’s a predicament, I’m still paying off my current car and my credit is pretty bad so don’t know if I can even GET a loan on a new car. Instead of feeling excited I’m worried about semantics.
I'm down to my "uncomfortable undies" because I am too lazy to do laundry. Please tell me I'm not the only one who has a couple pairs that are just super uncomfortable and thus never get worn?!?
So obviously whatever baby pops out of me this August is going on to be so loved and adored, but DH and I would really like to have a girl first (for lots of reasons, including the fact that my brother is having a girl in June and I have a female cousin a few months younger than me and we're so close). I even tried 'swaying' for a girl (lots of acidic foods to make my body acidic for this X sperm), which I know is pretty much the opposite of science. I just don't feel prepared to be a boy-mom. Obviously if we have a boy, I'll figure it out and feel so blessed anyway, but I'm just nervous. I've realized that me and DH keep referring to our little bean as 'he,' so maybe it is a boy. It's driving me a little nuts to have to wait until April to find out.

@izmom28 I've only done it because I test with cheapie wondfos that I had purchased in bulk, so I had a bunch laying around. I will say that I have never gone out to purchase an additional HPT after my initial BFP. They sell those wondfos in packages of like 25...I still have some left over from my previous pregnancy.
@cthulu Are your older kids still in carseats? I think there are some other vehicles that are possibilities. Have you been to Car Seats for the Littles? She talks about cars that can make 3 work.
@cthulu I drive a Ford Expedition and I have the benefits of a minivan but I didn't have to give up my cool card. I absolutely LOVE my car. In fact I love it so much that when I totaled my Expedition in October I bought another one to replace it.
I'm sitting here at work wondering if I should unbutton my jeans because who would know, i'm wearing a long sweater??? I'm 9w3d STM and I am just amazed at the little belly that seems to be happening already.
@livinthesunnylife they are still in car seats. 5 and 2 and both peanuts so it’ll be awhile before they hit the weight requirements. I’ll have to look into that though and do some more research, thanks! DH is very pro van though so we’ll probably end up trading in my ever reliable and much loved Subaru for a Mom-mobile
eta @calimom2524 I’ll have to look into the expedition too, I just feel like they are so big!
Team Blood Test to find out the baby's gender. 10w is all you have to wait. I couldn't do longer than that. I'm such a planner, must plan, must know gender.
@livinthesunnylife I love planning too! But I don't think my insurance covers it. So I'll be waiting to 20 weeks (unless it's picked up by the Ashkenazi panel, which I don't think it is).

haha you are right about that! It's a beast. However I can say it is very, very safe and if I'm in smaller cars I feel super tiny and low to the ground. I was driving 50+ mph on an entrance ramp, looked down to change the song, looked up and traffic had come to a dead stop and I didn't have enough time to stop. I slammed on my brakes and swerved to avoid as much as I could but I knew I was going to hit the car in front of me. I totaled both cars and I walked away with zero scratches and my neck wasn't even sore. Since that accident I'm just so much more comfortable knowing how safe I am in my big tank.
@izmom28 yeah I still owe about 10k on my car I have now. Absolutely no way I’d be able to fit three seats for even the short term though. I guess I’m done running errands with the kids by myself until DH agrees I need a new car lol

I'm a boy mom but until I had him I could not picturing having a son. At all. I'd never been around boy babies, I have all sisters, no brothers and I really didn't know what to expect! But truth be told, little boys are amazing and the love the have for their mamas is something so special to behold. If you have a boy, you'll rock the boy mom gig!!
Team About to Buy a Minivan here. we already have a pickup truck that gets terrible gas mileage, so we'd like our other car to at least be marginally better on the roads, given that my commute is 35 miles each way and DH's is 25. Also, I don't really care that much about cars, I just want what is going to be the easiest thing for me to deal with, and lugging an infant seat up into that effing truck is almost impossible for me as is, so I can't imagine climbing into an SUV to buckle in 3-across every day. though DH will have to do that when they're in the truck with him (on the way to daycare only, otherwise we'd drive the van).
I currently have a VW Jetta Sportwagen that I absolutely love, so I'm a little sad to lose it, but i'll survive. my oldest will have just turned 3 when this one is born, we'll have 3 in car seats for a looooong time. At least with a minivan we will have room to carpool with the other neighborhood kids.
on that note, if anyone has minivan recommendations, let me have them...if I'm getting a minivan I'm getting a TRICKED OUT minivan, so no options are off the table at present haha. Most important thing is ease of getting 3 kids strapped in (and we'll have two rear facing for at least 10 months).
@delujm0 my husband feels the same way about wanting a tricked out mini van lol. I was looking at used ones online a couple months ago and he flipped out that if we were buying one he wanted a new one with all the bells and whistles but we can’t afford that so we’ll just “figure it out.” (Anyone else have a SO that uses that phrase too much?)
@delujm0 - I think we're in the same boat of considering a mini van. So when we traveled the last 2 times, we rented 2 that we were interested in to get a long "test drive" essentially. The first was the Kia model and it was crap. You really had to floor the pedal to get any kind of pick up, and the bench seat in the back was super uncomfortable. When we went to California for New Years we rented the Toyota mini van and it was awesome! It drove really well, there was a ton of zip to it (surprisingly) and the rear seat comfortably sat 3 adults.
@mrsbubbles-2 I realize this makes me sound like a snob, but DH vaguely mentioned the Kia and I was like "look, the fact that I'm going to be driving an effing minivan is bad enough, there is no way on earth you're getting me to buy a Kia."
Right now it's probably going to be the Honda or the Chrysler, but I'd consider the Toyota too. From what I'm reading about the redesigned 2018 Honda, I think that has the edge, because of the ways you can configure the middle row and slide the seats all around, etc.
My FFFC: I’m still taking lexipro and plan to continue while pregnant. My mental health is so important and I can’t handle the constant highs and lows of my unmedicated, hormonal brain.

I have only sisters, but always want a family of only boys. Now I have one of each, and its so interesting to see the differences. L loves to snuggle and hang out with his momma. E is like 'leave me the F alone unless I'm hurt or Hungry.' Its really weird to see the differences.
@delujm0 We are looking into getting a Tahoe. The one we want has the second row as Captains seats, so I can wiggle into the 3rd row and buckle our 2 bigger kids, but still not have to lug the infant very far. KBB says they get between 18-22 mpg. So I'm hoping it won't break the bank if we have to go that big.

We have a Ford Explorer and I LOVE it. Unfortunately I have been putting the miles on it with an hour commute each way, but I'm quitting my job when this kid is born and staying home so hopefully we can squeeze a few more years out of it. I actually want a minivan, though ... Lol. Maybe that's my FFFC.
I've always been team mom SUV but my coworker kind of sold me on the sliding van door the other day. It would be nice to load kids in without having to worry about the door getting slammed off by a passing car, or hitting the car you're parked next. I'm not 100% there on the minivan, but that was a real thinker.

Mini van mom here. I have the Honda Odyssey and I love it! We opted for a used fully loaded one. Even dh doesn’t have any problem s wanting to drive it.
my fffc is that the structure on this board is rigid, but I’ve been to other communities and I just can’t with them. The bump is much better.

I second this. When I got pregnant my sister already had two boys. Also, I only have sisters and so I thought 'what do I know about boys?" I also thought having a girl would make my child "special" to my family--the first girl! When I found out it was a boy, I cried. I did, I'll admit it. But now...now, I really can't imagine things any differently. My son is just that--my son. I really can't imagine it being any other way!
Since then my other sister has gone on to have two boys so among us sisters, we've all had boys--5 of them. And I am going to be happy either way for different reasons. If it's a girl--first--and likely only -- granddaughter! If it's a boy, my son will have a same-sex sibling, which will be awesome. My sisters are super important to me and same-sex siblings are a special kind of bond. So I actually don't know what I would prefer at this point!

All this. Never ever did I picture myself with anything but girls and here I am with 3 boys. And I have to say? I’m a good boy mom.
But it I really hope this is a girl nonetheless. Did minor swaying too (mostly just cranberry supplements).
I wasn't making it a big deal. This is FFFC and that's just my opinion. Related to the above posts about lurking. Lurking is cool, commenting I don't think is.

And I’m disagreeing with your opinion, in case that’s not clear. I answered someone’s question about having a retroverted uterus in the September BMB because I have experience with that. Is that comment unacceptable to you?
