Re: Weekday Randoms 1/1

  • Thanks ladies! @lindsayleigh1989 @acunamatada

@julianne0 the bump keeps logging me out and being super glitchy, very annoying.

  • @zande2016 I hope your scan goes well!
  • @d_marie_23 and how she talked down to all of us implying how self important she is and pretty much how none of us could possible understand. also it is BS to "forget" she posted. if you feel the need to edit a post you don't forget. i have a feeling she has a few more issues as you suggested

  • I think I'm going to tell work about the pregnancy this week. I know it will be no big deal and everyone will be supportive but it's so awkward for me. I am however looking forward to being "out" and not worrying about letting something slip out or being able to rock the maternity clothes and bump once that time comes.

Also, question for STM+ dod you start wearing maternity clothes sooner with your second? If so, how much sooner?

  • @runsomewhere I pulled out the mat pants this weekend.. I could still get by with regular pants but they’re sooo much more comfortable. I don’t see me needing true mat shirts for a while because my wardrobe is mostly loose fitting
  • @runsomewhere i just started wearing some pants because my usual jeans are too tight and uncomfortable at the end of the day. Not ready for shirts yet and the pants are still pretty loose so I am just in that awkward stage. Definitely sooner than last time! I'll probably tell work sometime this week too (only my manager and old fellow supervisors know).
  • @runsomewhere i think i showed sooner with my second, but this third baby is slow to pop. I'm still in my regular clothes and not too uncomfortable. I'm sure this will change quickly with my new eat-everything diet.

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • @runsomewhere I stayed in maternity pants for way longer after my son was born than I care to admit, and got back into them around 11 weeks with this pregnancy - much much sooner than last time. I know I have diastasis recti from my son's pregnancy, which has made regular pants really difficult for me, and with this pregnancy I can't believe how fast everything is sticking out again. I wore a maternity top yesterday too because I feel like with regular tops it just looks like a huge muffin top. I really hate this awkward stage of pregnancy.
  • @lindsayleigh1989 and @acunamatada she's a twatwaffle.  She is my Twatwaffle Tuesday.  Move on!

    Yes LOL
Wait, really?? I have mine in 1.5 hours and no one told me this! I don't remember that from last time either. Guess I should start chugging?
  • @zande2016 you don't have to be near exploding, but you should definitely have something in there.

  • @WorkinWeezel thanks, I'll be sure to drink some water in the car.
  • I was googling and it said a liter to finished at least 30 mins before appointment. But you have to fully empty your bladder about 1.5 hrs before drinking all that? something along those lines. I remember having to go to the bathroom many times to let a bit out each time because my tech was running late. Pee a little, drink a little. It was horrible! Hope its quicker this time!
  • @wildtot @zande2016 I missed that memo and after 15 mins of trying to get the right shot, the tech sent me out to the waiting room to chug water before trying again.

    Good luck with your scans!
  • @zande2016 @wildtot I didn’t prepare drinking wise for my NT scan so I’m sure you will be fine! I think I had a small doctors office cup beforehand because I was thirsty but hadn’t chugged water otherwise. Good luck!
  • @zande2016 I had two drink 16 oz of water before i hit the hour mark before my appointment so that it was in mu bladder

  • also I am definitely in Mat clothes already

  • Luckily my last pregnancy due date was less than a month from this DD, and I am the exact same starting weight. Buying maternity clothes was a nightmare to me (I hate clothes shopping), so I shouldn't have to do any of it over again :)
  • my random is that right now, this watermelon i'm sharing with DD is so f-ing good. i am pretty sure i could eat the entire thing myself in one sitting.

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • @flockofmoosen3 watermelon is my fav!! super jelly right now.

my other random, I have to work from home today because DS is still "contagious". Having a hard time working and keeping him entertained. Trying to avoid too much TV time but will have to give in for some meetings I have. Honestly I am still half in PJs and I get more lazy working from home.
  • @runsomewhere i am in mat clothes already.... and pulled them out as soon as i could find them. The pants are so much more comfy. Also I may or may not have  been wearing my mat leggings from gap wtiht he band folded down since I gave birth a year ago. So soft!

I cannot find a decently timed prenatal yoga class. Like, evening or sat am. They are all mid morning or late afternoon, so DH couldn't watch DS. Its like its only geared towards SAH first time moms or something.
  • Good luck @zande2016! Thanks, all, for the reminder about water, my NT scan is Thursday (as long as it's not canceled due to a possible storm).

I'm telling myself I already fit into my mat clothes even though I'm a ftm because of my previous losses (I gained around three pounds, but my abdomen/stomach are expanding like crazy). Those losses were all in the first tri, but my stomach did pop out a bit/stay a little chubby because of them. Will need to get more mat pants soon, wearing a bella band with my regular work pants today.

@SmashJam are you into at home classes at all? I know a great resource if so
  • @kissableviv totally! Just looking for some me time and thought that might be a good way to get it outside the house.

Also what is this thread y'all are talking about where there was rudeness? Don't want to open the wrong one and not get any payout at the end, lol.
  • @wildtot @zande2016 The appointment reminder MassGen sent me said that a full bladder is not necessary, but to refrain from emptying it 15 minutes prior to the appointment.

  • @SmashJam my ftm friend with no job or any responsibilities planned a prenatal yoga class for all of us pregnant people and it’s on Thursday’s from 5:30-7pm. I like seriously roll my eyes about it every time its brought up because it’s at an impossible time for me to leave the house lol. Dinner time, homework for my Kindergartener, bath and bedtime all in that time frame. Ugh! Hope you find something for me time!
  • @SmashJam I'm actually training to teach pre and post natal yoga:) check out mayoga.com that's the program I'm doing. There's a 2 week trial for $1! Then it's $18/month. Still less that drop ins I think.
  • Not sure if this is against the rules, but @SmashJam my friend owns The Twisted Yogini and does in-person (in MD) and online classes.  The classes online are super cheap ($1.99/class or $10 unlimited/month).  She has all different levels  https://www.getyourtwiston.com/

  • I have always done YogaGlo for at home yoga. Forget how much it is a month but the app shows up on the Apple TV and everything so it’s really easy. Used to use it for at home (ok hotel) yoga when I was a management consultant and on the road all the time.
  • @runsomewhere I know, I'm dreading telling my co-workers - not because they won't be supportive, but because I'm crazy socially awkward. LOL. It's gonna suck - all that attention, bleh.
  • I ordered a couple cute maternity tops from Zulily last night and I'm sort of excited to wear them. A few weeks ago I was so bloated I thought maternity clothes were in my near future but now that 5the bloat went away I'm good. At the same time I'm dreading making the leap because once you're in maternity clothes you automatically look pregnant therefore you're opening yourself to all sorts of comments and questions, ugh.

@wildtot good luck today, if I was in your situation we'd either be on our 3rd time watching Moana or binge watching Shimmer and Shine.

Yes! I can't handle that type of attention. Like please do not look at, think about, or mention my pregnant body, my uterus or vagina, ever. It's funny because I'm outspoken and confident  and don't mind attention when I'm speaking publicly but this is different. I feel like telling my boss that I'm pregnant is basically saying "so 12 weeks ago my husband ejaculated in me which resulted in an egg getting fertilized and now I'm pregnant."

  • @WorkinWeezel good call, I didn't know it could be against the rules. I don't teach through them yet and don't get compensated in any shape or form for spreading the word so just my disclaimer here that I was just giving friendly advice :)
  • @runsomewhere "Sing" is his fav and will probably watch it again once its ends
