What is everyone doing when baby comes home in terms of sleeping at night? Originally my thought was to do a pack n play in our bedroom with the bassinet insert on top (not the vibrating seat cuddler thing, the flat bottomed thing) but when I got it, I was shocked at how thin and hard it was. The pack n play fitted sheets are also not snug which stresses me out. I looked at play yard mattress inserts, but that sounds like a huge no-no. Her crib seems like the safest option at this point, but that is not in our bedroom. I'm tempted to drop $200 on the halo bassinest but obviously don't really want to spend another $200.
Re: Sleeping at Night
I also baby wear quite a bit and am fine with cosleeping.
If you want to buy a bassinet, you don't need to go with the top of the line. We have just a simple basket-style bassinet.
The best sleeping arrangements for your baby is whatever helps baby develop a trust and bond with you.
My thought process is If the baby is far then they learn that crying= mama comes running. And I definitely did not want that.
I would feed baby, change the diaper, and wrap in a swaddle then lay the baby down awake in the co sleeper and sing some songs softly and pretend to go to sleep on the bed next to him. This taught my son to put himself to sleep and I can honestly say teething was the only time I ever had to rock my child to sleep and I can count on both hands how many times I had a fussy baby in the middle of the night. Transition to the crib was also not that bad because we Put him down awake so he was always aware of his surroundings.
Even though the arms reach is kind of pricy, the foundation on sleeping you build to me is worth the money. And you can get the mini for less. I had a full-size last time but bought a mini this time.

Another Q for the P&P does it need a mattress?? Or you use the one it comes with?
okay. So it works as a bedside sleeper fine? I should take it out of the box
We don't even want to buy a crib until the baby needs it (when he is 6 month old or starts to sit up) just because our house and bedrooms are tiny and we don't have space for that. When the time comes we are going with a mini crib too. Full size would take up so much space, and I use our 2nd bedroom for a home office too so that isn't appealing. Both bedrooms are only 9'x10'.
This LO I bought a RnP that she will sleep in until about 4-6 months then I’ll transition her to her crib in her own room (which she doesn’t have at this time)! I’m hoping by then we are moved into a new home!
