@beachbunnyxo123 you're correct. I've done one cycle of Clomid with the OB and will start a second, but have an RE appt soon. Since we're going into cycle 16 and 35 is just around the corner for me I didn't want to wait any longer. DH did a SA back in August and it was fine, everything was normal. He's not so much worried about a diagnosis for himself more for "us" (as he puts it), but really for me.

What are you doing: At home insemination for the moment. I have my long overdue HSG scheduled for Tuesday, after which I will try to get into the RE ASAP to talk about medicated IUI.
How are things going: Better today. It's been a rough fucking week. Don't get me wrong, Christmas was lovely, and DSS is just such a joy. Even the time spent at his mom's for brunch Christmas morning went really well. I actually had a nice time. There was only one time when I had to get up to leave the room, when she started talking about when DSS was born. But even OH didn't realize anything, which is good. I did not want to lose my shit. But BFNs that morning and since did cause a couple of small meltdowns. I pretty much fought tears on the trips to and from. OH was sweet about it and let me cry it out.
**TW** I told him on the way that I was having a hard time not just with another BFN, but with both of our sisters having babies with a first Christmas when this also should've been our baby's first Christmas since the LO I lost would've been due this past February. **End TW**
Going to acupuncture yesterday and listening to my meditation really helped me reset. Right now I'm eating all the See's Candy because AF should be here any minute now. Then I'm thinking about going on the new WW plan to try and drop a few pounds since that can never hurt IF when you're overweight. @Avrilmai oh okay I see! I think validating his concerns that this is scary and unfair to be going through and at the same time reassuring him that there are options to address what comes up. It is very hard. My husband doesn’t talk about feelings and emotions. I’m like you married a therapist did you really think I’d let you get away with that? I think it’s good that YH is opening up about it though. I can imagine this being equally upsetting to them even if they don’t verbalize it.

How are things going?: good! Of course I’m hoping to be a SS and get the approx 30k of money I just dished out back but on the other hand I’m glad to have a plan in place and thankful and blessed to have the resources to do this without insurance coverage. I told my MIL on Christmas that we are doing IVF. She rolled her eyes at first (which I told her up front I just want her to listen and not her opinion) but after explaining she was more understanding. Of course she still made it about herself by saying how she and all her friends feel sorry for her that we haven’t given them grandchildren yet. Atleast I don’t have to keep it a secret from her anymore. I’m starting estrace on Saturday! This is happening ahh!

@beachbunnyxo123 , Wait, AF should start this Saturday (the 30th?) and you won't start stims till the 9th/10th? is this because you're priming? I'm not doing anything. Once I get AF (which should be about the 7th, I get my baseline the next day, and then start stims the day after that. So ER for me should be about the 20th?

@KristoKekerooni oops I meant Saturday the 6th not this Saturday! This Saturday I go for progesterone BW and start estrace and AF is due the next weekend. Hi ladies! Not much going on here for me this week but I know a few of you wanted details from my nutrition consult.
Not anything groundbreaking. Basically 40% protein and less than 30% carbs is where they want me to be.
Veggies with the lowest carb count are the ones that grow above ground so she said to stick with those (except corn). Spinach, green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, cucumbers, etc... Swap out breads and pastas for lettuce wraps and zoodles/or other veggie noodles. Swap out crackers for slices of cucumbers. Basically the typical stuff if you're trying to cut carbs.
Cut out simple carbs. Focus on complex carbs. Limit a carb serving to be one meal a day. So if you have brown rice for lunch - don't have a straight carb like that for breakfast or dinner.
Gave some snack ideas such as string cheese, cottage cheese, greek yogurt (can be flavored, just make sure your protein>carbs), jerkey, sunglower seeds, hard boiled eggs.

@beachbunnyxo123 , ohhh I was like, whoa, that's a long time to wait. It looks like my time-frame between AF and stims is much shorter too, so that works for us. haha. But yeah, we decided to go ahead and do a fresh, since we are up there, and then freeze the rest. I am not banking on the fresh ones working, given the RPL factor and DNAF, but I can't imagine going across the country and not even trying, you know? Are you doing FET right after? I wonder what EDDs would be? On the very slight, very unlikely chance my fresh works, I need someone to go with me!

@KristoKekerooni yes yes you totally have to try! Especially after traveling all that distance! And omg I didn’t even realize I hope we have an IF IVF army in the bmbs!! I’m doing a freeze all cycle then once AF comes I have to go in for another hysteroscopy with the head reproductive surgeon for a cervical dilation before my FET so my cervix is straight and dilated for my transfer since the catheter has been difficult. Then they want me to do a transfer as close as possible after. I have to call my new nurse next week when she’s back from vacation to go over deets and get my surgery scheduled. Really hoping to do an FET in February but March would be the latest
@KristoKekerooniif my cycle doesnt get canceled again this cycle, and if I have anything that makes it to day 5 and if they implant it in me and it sticks (a lot of if's there), then we would be together in October!
@avrilmai my DH was also worried about what the RE might or might not find. We had two years of not knowing what the problem was. And even now every “deposit” he makes for our IVF cycles he is soooon nervous in case his “contribution” isn’t up to scratch - even though every SA was top notch in all respects. So I think whatever it is there is something to worry about.
@kristokekerooni whilst they are theoretically the same, my RE said no to the pharmacy giving us a substitute when they didn’t have one in (they are over the street from my RE) and had his nurse call round and then I drove across the city to get the same brand. So I would say check with your RE if he’s ok with you switching between them.
@madspunk maybe the later trigger might help. My first IVF cycle my RE thought he had fried my big follie as it was 24mm already on the morning before we triggered. But it did fertilize and grew well until we transferred it. My RE said he normally likes to trigger when there is a group of follies at 18-20mm. So on my second cycle we tried to let the first one go and get the three who were in a group behind. We knew the big one would collapse when we triggered (it had been 28mm!) and the other three were 21, 18, 18 at trigger - the two 18s were too immature to even be collected and the 21 did not mature enough in vitro and so didn’t fertilize. So my RE thinks the sweet spot for me at trigger might be 22-24mm which is 4mm more than his “normal” patients. I know with IUI you can’t get that same amount of info, but long story short everyone’s normal is different, so don’t be afraid to try a trigger on a bit bigger follie at least once.

@50wife thanks a lot for sharing. I would be really interested as it somehow still seems balanced and do-able. And I think I can get DH on board with that kind of approach too. He’s very skeptical about most “diets”...
AFM I’m calling today CD1 and I don’t care whether it’s full flow or not, I think it’s enough! My dear old ovaries (and pituitary and hypothalamus) really played ball this month to bring AF on the perfect day. There is hope for my body cooperating yet it seems! So first stim injection on Saturday evening. And already started daily pep talks to my ovaries to get them ready for the hit that’s coming their way!
I like the idea from @beachbunnyxo123 to have a little spreadsheet for this month. I would volunteer to set it up over the next two days if nobody objects or wants to do it more desperately than me? Spreadsheets are kind of therapy for me and I “enjoyed” running the one on the Sep IVF board. Whoever starts the weekly thread each Monday could add the link to the spreadsheet in the intro post so it’s super easy to find.

@emmasemm , oh, my doc said the substitute was fine. That's how I ended up with both. I just don't know if the pens work the same? Because I got a Gonal pen but not a follistim pen and I don't know if I need to go get a follistim pen or if I can use that for the follsitim cartridge I have. Oh, also, I am in love with the idea of a spreadsheet. We should do like, who is doing what, and then empty columns so we can put in the dates we start as we approach. So Cycle start, ER, ET/FET date, beta day, etc?

@emmasemm it’s $14k for ER and ICSI, $5k for FET, $3000 for PGS then meds for ER and FET. Then I have to pay 3k for my hysteroscopy and cervical dilation. No guarantee program. Just all OOP. The old clinic I went to was cheaper (not by much) but they didn’t have good SART stats. And yasssss on a spreadsheet! Should we message you our info?

AF arrived last night so I start BCP on Saturday, Lupron on 1/17, and stims on 1/26 with ER probably falling between 2/5 and 2/9 and fresh transfer right after. So nervous/anxious/excited/terrified right now!!

@Aurora1973 Sorry you had a rough week. DH and I love Christmas, but have always imagined Christmas with kids, so we knew this holiday season would probably be a little harder than other times of the year. I'm glad you're feeling like you're resetting now. I hope you're able to get into the RE's office quickly to talk about medicated IUI.
@beachbunnyxo123 Who rolls their eyes at someone doing IVF?! What a terrible reaction. Sorry you had to deal with that.
@emmasemm All my triggers have also been when the largest follie was between 18-20 mm, except for one but I only had one follie at 23 mm that day and then a handful 16 mm and under so they were likely immature. I think she said they're going to try when the biggest follie is more like 20-22 mm. I'm willing to give it a go. It's good to see that they're really analyzing my cycle and trying to find any little thing where we might make a change to make this work.
It's sad but exciting and I'm lucky to have an awesome group of ladies to go through this shit with! @shortstack930 I'm doing frozen. So right now if I'm in that early group, retrievals should be the week of 1/22 and per their basic info on IVF I should expect my transfer to be 4 weeks later!

So ladies, I did a first set-up with the data I think I figured out and with everyone I think is planning IVF and/or transfers this month in the "Google Sheets" app as it allows it to be shared easily. It does however lack some of the finer point side of excel...

Also, if any IUI ladies would like to be added it should be no problem to tailor a section for you too.
At the moment the settings are so that anyone who has the above link can view the spreadsheet - we can open it up so that ANYONE can edit, but that truly means anyone including creepy internet strangers. Which I’m a bit nervous of... but happy to go with the popular view. I can also give individual edit access but only with an IRL email address - so if anyone wants to you can send me your email address by PM. Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I so appreciate it. We had the FET this morning and it went super smooth. This embryo was 4AA, just like the last one, BUT this one was already starting to hatch out (you could see it start to expand past the zona pellucida) so we are really hoping he is a fighter and ready to hatch and latch! Fingers crossed... I already have the progesterone hunger and nighttime urination so I'm ready.

What are you doing: At home insemination for the moment. I have my long overdue HSG scheduled for Tuesday, after which I will try to get into the RE ASAP to talk about medicated IUI.
How are things going: Better today. It's been a rough fucking week. Don't get me wrong, Christmas was lovely, and DSS is just such a joy. Even the time spent at his mom's for brunch Christmas morning went really well. I actually had a nice time. There was only one time when I had to get up to leave the room, when she started talking about when DSS was born. But even OH didn't realize anything, which is good. I did not want to lose my shit. But BFNs that morning and since did cause a couple of small meltdowns. I pretty much fought tears on the trips to and from. OH was sweet about it and let me cry it out.
**TW** I told him on the way that I was having a hard time not just with another BFN, but with both of our sisters having babies with a first Christmas when this also should've been our baby's first Christmas since the LO I lost would've been due this past February. **End TW**
Going to acupuncture yesterday and listening to my meditation really helped me reset. Right now I'm eating all the See's Candy because AF should be here any minute now. Then I'm thinking about going on the new WW plan to try and drop a few pounds since that can never hurt IF when you're overweight. And I'm trying to concentrate on the positive steps forward I'm taking.

@KristoKekerooni I usually have a 12-13 day LP so AF would be due probably on Saturday. So I will probably be starting on the 9th or 10th so ahh we will probably even out!!

Of course I’m hoping to be a SS and get the approx 30k of money I just dished out back but on the other hand I’m glad to have a plan in place and thankful and blessed to have the resources to do this without insurance coverage. I told my MIL on Christmas that we are doing IVF. She rolled her eyes at first (which I told her up front I just want her to listen and not her opinion) but after explaining she was more understanding. Of course she still made it about herself by saying how she and all her friends feel sorry for her that we haven’t given them grandchildren yet. Atleast I don’t have to keep it a secret from her anymore. I’m starting estrace on Saturday! This is happening ahh!

@adirat I literally tell him that all the time in a “you knew what you were signing up for” type of way and he laughs since he thought he’d be able to weasel out of it! Not on my watch, lol.
Not anything groundbreaking. Basically 40% protein and less than 30% carbs is where they want me to be.
Veggies with the lowest carb count are the ones that grow above ground so she said to stick with those (except corn). Spinach, green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, cucumbers, etc...
Swap out breads and pastas for lettuce wraps and zoodles/or other veggie noodles. Swap out crackers for slices of cucumbers. Basically the typical stuff if you're trying to cut carbs.
Cut out simple carbs. Focus on complex carbs. Limit a carb serving to be one meal a day. So if you have brown rice for lunch - don't have a straight carb like that for breakfast or dinner.
Gave some snack ideas such as string cheese, cottage cheese, greek yogurt (can be flavored, just make sure your protein>carbs), jerkey, sunglower seeds, hard boiled eggs.

@kristokekerooni whilst they are theoretically the same, my RE said no to the pharmacy giving us a substitute when they didn’t have one in (they are over the street from my RE) and had his nurse call round and then I drove across the city to get the same brand. So I would say check with your RE if he’s ok with you switching between them.
@madspunk maybe the later trigger might help. My first IVF cycle my RE thought he had fried my big follie as it was 24mm already on the morning before we triggered. But it did fertilize and grew well until we transferred it. My RE said he normally likes to trigger when there is a group of follies at 18-20mm. So on my second cycle we tried to let the first one go and get the three who were in a group behind. We knew the big one would collapse when we triggered (it had been 28mm!) and the other three were 21, 18, 18 at trigger - the two 18s were too immature to even be collected and the 21 did not mature enough in vitro and so didn’t fertilize. So my RE thinks the sweet spot for me at trigger might be 22-24mm which is 4mm more than his “normal” patients.
I know with IUI you can’t get that same amount of info, but long story short everyone’s normal is different, so don’t be afraid to try a trigger on a bit bigger follie at least once.

AFM I’m calling today CD1 and I don’t care whether it’s full flow or not, I think it’s enough! My dear old ovaries (and pituitary and hypothalamus) really played ball this month to bring AF on the perfect day. There is hope for my body cooperating yet it seems!
So first stim injection on Saturday evening.
And already started daily pep talks to my ovaries to get them ready for the hit that’s coming their way!
I like the idea from @beachbunnyxo123 to have a little spreadsheet for this month. I would volunteer to set it up over the next two days if nobody objects or wants to do it more desperately than me? Spreadsheets are kind of therapy for me and I “enjoyed” running the one on the Sep IVF board.

AF arrived last night so I start BCP on Saturday, Lupron on 1/17, and stims on 1/26 with ER probably falling between 2/5 and 2/9 and fresh transfer right after. So nervous/anxious/excited/terrified right now!!

DH and I love Christmas, but have always imagined Christmas with kids, so we knew this holiday season would probably be a little harder than other times of the year. I'm glad you're feeling like you're resetting now. I hope you're able to get into the RE's office quickly to talk about medicated IUI.

That's so exciting we have such a big group that's going to be doing IVF and FETs together. I'm glad you're putting together a spreadsheet to keep track of it! Hopefully there will be a mass exodus to the BMBs soon.

@emmasemm All my triggers have also been when the largest follie was between 18-20 mm, except for one but I only had one follie at 23 mm that day and then a handful 16 mm and under so they were likely immature. I think she said they're going to try when the biggest follie is more like 20-22 mm. I'm willing to give it a go. It's good to see that they're really analyzing my cycle and trying to find any little thing where we might make a change to make this work.
@shortstack930 I'm doing frozen. So right now if I'm in that early group, retrievals should be the week of 1/22 and per their basic info on IVF I should expect my transfer to be 4 weeks later!

So ladies, I did a first set-up with the data I think I figured out and with everyone I think is planning IVF and/or transfers this month in the "Google Sheets" app as it allows it to be shared easily. It does however lack some of the finer point side of excel...
Please check for your name and let me know (best by pm or by tagging me) if there is anything else to add, or if something needs changing in the first instance.
Of course it's entirely optional and I can easily take you off if you prefer - just shoot me a pm.
Also, if any IUI ladies would like to be added it should be no problem to tailor a section for you too.
At the moment the settings are so that anyone who has the above link can view the spreadsheet - we can open it up so that ANYONE can edit, but that truly means anyone including creepy internet strangers. Which I’m a bit nervous of... but happy to go with the popular view. I can also give individual edit access but only with an IRL email address - so if anyone wants to you can send me your email address by PM. So in the meantime I’ll try and identify updates from the thread, but again would be great if you tag or pm me if there’s something to be updated.
Any improvement suggestions welcome!

@KristoKekerooni I’m not sure how long the recovery time will be just that my doc wants to do it as close to my FET as possible so my cervix stays dilated. I’m gonna ask my nurse on Tuesday so I can get it all scheduled so hopefully more info to come soon!
