I loved bed how excited my 1 year old was about the lights, trees and decorations.
What was your least favorite part?
I hate how busy it felt and how cold it is at my family's house. But the snow was very exciting.
What did you get your SO? kids?
My ds#1 got a new GoPro and my ds#1 got some melissa and doug food sets, cleaning set and puzzles. He also got a baby stroller from his big brother that he is crazy about. Dh and I don't typically exchange gifts.
What was the favorite gift you received?
My grandmother who is 95 made us a beautiful pink baby blanket. Definitely my favorite gift.
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
I enjoy the time we get to spend with my family.
Crab legs for supper on Christmas Eve, then went to 9pm Mass.
What was your least favorite part?
Cleaning fridge on Christmas Day. DH’s idea, and it needed it since some ‘crab juice’ leaked out

We went really small! DH got a pocket knife and a stainless guitar pick engraved with ‘I couldn’t pick a better dad.’
What was the favorite gift you received?
‘The babies’ got me pretzels and some candy, along with a super sweet card with a sappy note written inside. I cried it was just so thoughtful of DH.
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
Holidays haven’t been great for a few years, but I’m looking forward to creating new traditions in the years to come.
we don’t usually exchange presents for anyone but the kids when we get together with my extended family. BUT, I saw this Willow Tree figurine that I bouhhtnfor my Great aunt due to the fact that she’s been so amazing for our family throughout the years. And she recently lost her brother, so I wanted her to have something special. She came up to me later and cried and told me she would treasure it forever.
This is in turn made ME cry, so it turned into a beautiful girlie sob fest!
What was your least favorite part?
My DD so *graciously* passed along Strep to me, so i woke up with that on Christmas Eve. Hence why this was posted in the wee hours of Christmas when I couldn’t sleep! Lol
What did you get your SO? kids?
I got DH some pajamas, a video game, and Bluetooth headphones. He ended up getting me headphones too! Lol and really warm socks (I’m always cold!!) the kids got random things. DD (11) is obsessed with art (and is very good at it!!) so she got a LOT of art supplies like canvases, easel, acrylic paints, etc. we also got her an American Girls Guide to babysitting because she wants to watch this baby SO much! For DS (8), it was a lot of Minecraft things, gross stuff (like pretend poop) slime, etc. boys are gross lol!! Oh, and they got the Nintendo Switch. Which I left for work and they were fighting over that when I left. Good luck DH! Hehehe
What was the favorite gift you received?
I got some awesome maternity clothes from my MIL, and more fuzzy socks. And DH wrote me this Incredibly cute card about how excited he was for the new chapter in our lives with the new baby coming. Super cute.
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
I love spending so much time with family. And the absolute JOY on the kids faces when they open their presents can’t be beat. It’s just a magical time of year!
DS is 2 and this is the first year he's been excited about presents. Also the food. This was our first Christmas at home and we made all our favorite foods.
What was your least favorite part?
Catching DH's cold. It hit me on Christmas morning, not fun at all.
What did you get your SO? kids?
DH got a patagonia duffle bag and a flannel shirt, also a bunch of stocking stuffers (socks, a fancy pen, and dried mango - he loves it)
DS got too many gifts, haha. His big gift from us was a Bruder flat bed truck with a backhoe truck too. He is seriously in love with that thing. Lots of gifts from his uncle and grandparents too. Somehow he didn't seem to appreciate the undies, robe, or socks we got him.
What was the favorite gift you received?
DH got me a gift pack of products from the skin care line I use, I love it!
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
Seeing DS so excited about the holiday makes it really fun for me. It's something that makes it all really special for me.
Watching DS hand out presents. He is 2 and there was one point after handing grandparents their gifts he came back panting like it was so hard. Love his character.
What was your least favorite part?
DS not wanting to go to bed. He was up till midnight Christmas eve. But grandpa took over and it was nice to hear them reading stories together.
What did you get your SO? kids?
DH got a card game and some cloths. DS got an easel with a chalk board and a white board and some smaller toys.
What was the favorite gift you received?
My aunt got me an instant pot. Now I need recipes!
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
It has been spending time with family, this year was the first year DS was aware what was going on. So I think in the future it will be watching him enjoy the season.
What was your least favorite part? I probably shouldn't say this, but I really missed enjoying champagne this Christmas. That and the fact this year we didn't light candles on the tree on christmas eve. After the fires in Los Angeles, it would have been in very bad taste of course, but it was sad not following the usual traditions.
What did you get your SO? I got my DH flying lessons and some odds and ends. He's been wanting to go to Berlin to check out the art scene, so I got him a guide to Berlin, as well as some snuggly socks and a beautiful leather bound book to take notes in.
What was the favorite gift you received? I am OBSESSED with sloths, and my brother got me sloth socks. My two favorite things, together at last.
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general? I really love spending time with my parents. I see them plenty during the year, but for some reason, at Christmas, it just feels that much more meaningful. I know not everyone gets along with their family, so I feel really lucky about that.

What was your least favorite part?
Staying at my in-laws. There's always an awkward tension between us.

DH and I didn't exchange gifts. We're saving up to renovate the kitchen. We got DS some monkeyfeet Berkleys and lined Moccasins (beings we knew he'd get plenty of toys/clothes from grandparents and aunts)
What was the favorite gift you received?
InstantPot. So excited to start using it!
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
There seemingly being more time (people are more apt to maybe) to just sit down and enjoy time talking or playing games.

We visited his parents before Christmas so we could come home Christmas Eve and spend Christmas day just the two of us since it was the last with just us two. It was just an awesome day in general. We spent a lot of the day getting the nursery ready since we received a lot of baby items from his parents.
What was your least favorite part?
Traveling
What did you get your SO?
A tumbler with a Chiefs wrap. He's also going to pick out some new headphones (I was nervous to get them myself because I didn't know what brand he would want).
What was the favorite gift you received?
DH got me a pink blush delivery robe. I was already feeling emotional yesterday, but I literally started bawling my eyes out when I opened it and then continued to tear up randomly throughout the rest of the day. It was just a sweet and thoughtful gift that he thought of and picked out on his own. Also he got me a new coat from Eddie Bauer because I had mentioned sometime when the weather was getting cold that my coat was getting pretty old.
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
I just love that everyone seems a bit more cheerful around the holidays.
What was your least favorite part? I love spending time with family, but it was like a marathon! It was pretty exhausting by the time we got to Monday night and DS didn't really get to enjoy any of his toys until Tuesday.
What did you get your SO? kids? For DH I got a skeleton watch, underwear, and a book. For DS, we got a kitchen and some other little things. He saw his kitchen and kept saying "what's this!?" It was pretty adorable! Maybe that was my favorite part haha.
What was the favorite gift you received? DH found this necklace online that comes with a clam and you have to open the clam to get a pearl! I thought it was pretty thoughtful of him.
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general? I love the food and relaxing with family and friends! We're all so busy and it's a good reminder to slow down and enjoy.

What was your least favorite part?
SO family always has tension amongst them all and it never fails that someone gets grumpy and complains and makes everything so uncomfortable

We did a small Xmas because we bought a really nice TV for ourselves on Black Friday so i got him underwear a book and some other small things

my SO got me a full day at the spa with a prenatal massage and a manicure / pedicure
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
I love spending time with family. When we have our little one I am excited to start our own family traditions
It was a wonderful day all around! My favorite part was we didn't have as much running around because my ILs are away. DD said thank you after every gift and at my dad's even excused herself to take a break because she felt as though she had too many gifts.
What was your least favorite part?
Cutting DD's nap short.
What did you get your SO? kids?
DH got a new graphics card for his computer. DD got an activity table and Calico Critters.
What was the favorite gift you received?
My stepmom thinks of creative ways to give us money, so she had put all of our mementos she saved from one year of our elementary school life in a box and we had to find the report card, which had the money in it. We all (7 siblings total) sat and laughed and reminisced for a good hour about the memories it brought up!
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
The feeling of Christmas in the air and just being jolly through giving.
Getting back home. We traveled to visit MH's family in CA.
What was your least favorite part?
Having to go to the grocery store on Christmas eve, because I was informed that day there would be no food for me the whole weekend. I'm vegetarian and don't eat a lot of dairy.
What did you get your SO? kids?
I got MH a steel drum earlier this year for birthday/Christmas. Also got him a nice set of LOTR books and slippers.
What was the favorite gift you received?
MH surprised me with a puppy! We went to meet her yesterday.
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
I like to hang out with my family. We play games and talk. Its super casual (whoever is hosting is usually still in pajamas).
What was your least favorite part?
Listening to my in-laws bitch about watching us open presents, and how they might skip out early because it is snowing, which would leave us without a family photo. It is their stupid fault we have to open so many damn presents in the first place. Why can't they just gift one or two nice presents per adult like normal people? Believe me, I am not excited about opening post it notes endlessly either, peeps.
What did you get your SO? kids?
I got my husband a Wi-Fi grill thermometer so he can stay indoors and check on grill temp, and a model for the game he plays. He was super happy with them both.
What was the favorite gift you received? My favorite gift that I got was a gift card to Lush, and a gift card to Toys R Us. We already uses the latter to get a video baby monitor.
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general? Getting together with family. The rest is just trimmings.
Presents! Specifically from my grandparents. They are the absolute sweetest people ever and it's so fun to watch everyone open things and get so excited!
What was your least favorite part?
2 things. Being sick (thought it was a cold, turns out it was strep! Probably wouldn't have visited family had we known that...). And then my white dad and brown husband got into a fight over dessert over if colorblindness was racist or not. Hearing a privileged white man tell a brown man that racism isn't real and thay white men face just as much racism these days would have been hilarious if it wasn't so painful. Dad and I will definitely be having a serious talk about this before the babies come.
What did you get your SO? kids?
I got my husband a kitchen knife sharpening set and a movie and CD he had his eye on.
What was the favorite gift you received?
My grandma knitted each of the twins a beautiful blanket. Those will be cherished for a very long time.
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
DH having time off of work that we can spend together! And again spending time with my grandparents. Ironically, grandpa (dad's white stepdad) was the one who stood up for DH the most in aforementioned argument. And grandma of course just gave DH lots of hugs and made sure to tell him she loved him. They definitely help balance the crazy.

What was your least favorite part?
My aunt has given me the cold shoulder and I have no idea why. I’ve tried calling and texting her several times over the past few months and no response. The Worst now being she skipped dds birthday party (we held it in my hometown town where she lives, which is 2 hours from us, just so my family could be included since we wouldn’t be there for Christmas). She’s never missed one of my cousins parties. And I’m not so upset that she skipped it as she literally never called or told anyone she wasn’t coming. Now I miss a lot of family things because we live two hours away and she constantly complains she doesn’t get to see my kids when we do. Plus she had already told my grandma (who was hosting) she would be there. Then she posts on Facebook a picture of my brother and his wife saying how my mom is going to be so excited for her first grand baby with her last name to be born in April. Ouch. That hurt! I didn’t realize in my aunts eyes my mom would think less of my kids because they have DHs last name!
(sadly my brother and his wife also live two hours away and miss just as many events as we do but in her eyes can do no wrong!!)

Dh and I didn’t exchange gifts but we had a kid free week after Xmas (inlaws babysat since dd was out of school). We went on a few date nights and slept in (until 6;30!!) all week. My favorite gifts to the kids were downhill skiing lessons for DD and ds got the Paw Patrol sea patroller which he has been playing with nonstop!!
What was the favorite gift you received?
Dhs Family knows me so well! I got a total of $140 to spend at Barnes and noble! I just picked up the illustrated version of HP & the sorcerers stone. I can’t wait to start reading it with dd!
What’s your favorite thing about the holidays in general?
Seeing my kids smile. Slowing down and enjoying together time.
I am sorry to hear about your aunt's cold shoulder. I hate when family isn't honest about their feelings. Life is too short to waste time being angry with each other.
