I've had a few good moments teaching this week. Today a boy said I was his favorite teacher - I'm pretty sure without sarcasm. (I teach Algebra... so, like, who deems math their favorite? - other than me of course. ) Yesterday I put up a type of problem we hadn't done in a while up for the warm up and a girl said "Yes! I love these!" And the other day I said something about math not being the most interesting class (a student was drifting) and a girl said "Actually this class goes by the fastest." Little comments like these let me know I'm doing okay.
Teaching has soo many tough moments - it is ones like these that make it worth it.

@bb3vj3n your story made my day. So often society disregards children because they are young. To hear you treat him like any other customer makes my heart melt.

I have so much respect for educators. It seems to take a lot of talent and dedication to be a great teacher. As a parent I really appreciate everything teachers have done for my kids over the years.
It snowed yesterday! In central Texas! Not something you see everyday. Or every year for that matter. We had a white Christmas for like 12 hours. It DEFINITELY MMD
Yesterday at work I thought I looked huge (as usual) and tacky, and I wasn't feeling particularly great physically, and like 3 people told me how great I looked and how cute my outfit was! I got a lot of compliments on my glasses and my dress... I was pleasantly shocked
We moved our 2.5 year old into his new big boy room tonight. He was so excited that he asked to go to bed before supper! LOL! Hopefully he sleeps tonight. He was just beaming with pride. It made my day!
I showed DH a picture of what I liked the nursery to be. Instead of just agreeing, he scoured Pinterest for an hour and came up with a completely different scheme. And he was super excited about it. Y'all he's still talking about how cool it is 12 hours later. I know it's weird, but his excitement for something about LO (finally!) MMD....
And bonus points for me not flipping out and being flexible. Today was a good day
@bravoandprosecco, umm not horrible but not great. He took 2 hours to fall asleep, and then fell out of bed twice. Luckily he wasn't hurt. My parents are bringing over a couple of rails they have that we can try with the bed. He would be fine if he laid in the middle of the bed. But he insists on lying on the edge of the bed. So we have some work to do. Thanks for asking though!
@justkeeptrying when we moved DS (2) into his big boy bed, he fell out a couple of times. I just lined the side of the bed with a pillow and he was fine after that. If it had kept happening, I would have just put a big Costco Bear next to the bed for him to fall on. Lol.
@mdfarmchick, I was surprised he fell because he didn't seem to move around much in his toddler bed. But I realized that we flipped which way he sleeps. So now instead of facing out, he's facing the wall. I think it's throwing him off and he doesn't want to lay too close to the wall? Maybe he feels claustrophobic? I don't know. Either way, I really tried to encourage him to sleep closer to the middle of the bed tonight. He did great at naptime, so here's hoping tonight goes better! He does have a little rug by his bed, so that'll at least help ease his fall. But it just feels so high for him to fall from. He's still so little in his mama's eyes!
This is the prototype @mdfarmchick I was going for "Rocky Mountain" since DH is from CO. But this is what piqued his interest, so we're going for it. When it's actually complete I'll put a pic in the nursery thread!
Edited to take out "high" after Rocky Mountain since that had a whole new connotation to it these days
@cford08 that is really adorable. Can’t wait to see the nursery!
AFM, today DS has said “thank you much, Momma” to everything today... from helping him with his train tracks to getting him a snack, to running his bath. It’s so cute and I need to capture it on video. IMMD
@cford08 That is like my dream nursery and have that picture on my phone! I want that wall sooo bad. We are doing those colors with some wood and metal accents, but we're currently in a rent house and will only be there for 1 more year so we didn't want to paint or put anything crazy on the walls that we would just shortly have to take down. I guess our 2nd child will get it
So funny story.. as I am backing out of my parking spot at the hospital today (after finding out I passed my 3 hr GD test) this older man was backing out across from me as well. I happened to see him in my back up camera and thought, dang, he's really close to me. So I stopped and he stopped, and he opened his door to yell at me, "What the hell is wrong with you!?" I yelled back, "Nothing at all sir, I don't have gestational diabetes!"
He just stared at me as I drove away with a huge smile on my face. IMMD. lol
My three year old just called his sister beautiful. It was adorable.
Also, a little girl that I don't know said my belly was big and I told her there is a baby in there. She looked at me perplexed and said "really? Again?". It made me chuckle. Candid comments about my multiple pregnancies are only cute coming from humans 4ft and shorter.

DH went crazy for the pic when he saw it. I think it's because his man cave has a wood accent wall just like it , just in a natural color. It's turning out to be not as time-consuming as I thought. Y'all could have it done with a second on the way!
I went to an event at out local food co-op and I was running late and overheated from running around. I never put my coat on I just buttoned the top buttons of my cardigan. Several woman (50ish) saw my bump and gave me a knowing smile. No comments, just warm smiles and I just felt like it was sweet. Also nice that I don't just look huge anymore, it's clearly a baby bump. totally a tiny detail but IMMD
I want to echo @crossfitbabybump to say you ladies MMD. I know I can turn here when I need to, and its so helpful. It has put my mind, and stress, at ease with all my various issues this pregnancy!
DS was such a big boy getting ready today to go out the door. He said “one minute, Momma,” and ran to my bedroom. When I caught up with him, he had my water cup from the nightstand and said “Mommy it’s your water.” Despite the small spill, IMMD.
@cford08 love that nursery! @justkeeptrying we are planning to transition to a big boy bed soon. I’m going to need tips
DS (2) was at my dr appt today & the doctor let him help with the doppler & “press the button”, he was so excited to hear the baby’s heartbeat! Made me melt
After months of saying "no" to everything, even when she meant "yes," today DD finally started saying "yeah"!!!! Next step is to get her to say "yes please," but it's funny how she just woke up this morning and everything was "yeah"!! IMMD!!
Last night at a Mexican restaurant, after the waiter brought out the chips and salsa, our 2.5 year old daughter told him “Thank You” without us prompting it. We both looked at each other with such pride. Manners girl...you go girl!
I found a super great deal on a play kitchen yesterday for DS and IMMD... I’m barely restraining myself from putting it together in front of him. Is it bedtime yet?
Every night when we lay down for bed Emma starts going crazyyy. Last night DH got to feel how strong our little lady is and he looked so amazed. It was such a sweet moment! IMMD!!
Finally scheduled my repeat c/s today... his birthday will be February 21st if he doesn’t decide to come sooner! 8 weeks from today... things are getting real, and really fast!
TTC #1 Since April 2014
Me: 27 | DH: 31

10/2014 - Bloodwork normal, HSG all clear
10/2014 - DH's SA 15mil/mL, 35% motility, 6% morphology
@hollyk224 eeek, exciting! I schedule mine next week for the last week of February. I've reminded DH of that a few times this week, and imagine that, he finally has a fire under his butt to go pick out nursery paint, haha.
MH and I booked a babysitter for today and tomorrow so today I went to the OB appointment without either of us chasing a toddler, had a lunch that was uninterrupted and then pedicures and a trip to the store to look at diaper bags without chasing or wrestling a toddler. IMMD
My blanket and swaddles for LO 2.0 showed up today, plus I have some wall art ready to be hung and a boppy lounger and IMMD... the nursery is slowly coming together.
