Yes. But I also crave things when not pregnant. So tryyyying not to use pregnancy as an excuse to give in. No aversions yet. Last pregnant the inky aversion I had was raw lunchmeat, which technically they say not to have anyway, so it worked out
Thai food (just like my last pregnancy), orange juice, really anything that has carbs! lol. I hungry ALL the time. I'm eating a lot too. I wonder if there is two in there. I can eat a big dinner and be starving like 2 hours later...
@legallykate With my first, I drank a GALLON of icy icy icy orange juice a day and I NEVER drank it prior to my first and haven't had it SINCE that pregnancy. LOL I'm still waiting to see if I get any interesting cravings like that again this go round. Nothing serious yet!

Pad Thai sounds amazing right now and it's nowhere to be found! Need in my belly!
I am craving comfort food, but maybe that's just because it's cold outside and the holiday season? I made bison shepard's pie on Saturday and this yummy fish stew on Sunday.
I want all sorts of asian food! Ramen, bahn mi, pad thai. My mouth waters thinking about it. I also bought a jar of Wickle Pickles that is almost gone (such a stereotype .
@GoyaBean913 I'm the same, ravenous, and then unable to eat a lot once I start eating. With my first I had an almost complete loss of appetite, wondering if this round will be similar.
@hardlyhannah I really need to increase my water intake - I think that's been my biggest craving so far.
I had a craving for Oreos, just the plain ones to dip in milk. So I bought a package and now I haven't bothered opening it. I also had the juiciest, ripest tomato, on my sandwich yesterday (forgot about lunch meat until too late), and I could tell it was flavorful and fresh but I was totally put off by it. Pregnancy is weird.

I crave spicy food even when not pregnant, so it's no different yet. I did think @lalala2004 's cereal sounded good, but now I don't. Come 8pm it probably will again. 80% of the time food just sounds awful but 20% of the time I'm starving
@lalala2004, I'm there with you on the sushi! My mom always gives me a gift card to Fresh Market for Xmas, and I blow it all on sushi throughout the year. I'm going to be sad having to buy normal food with it.
At the moment I'm really craving all the salads and avocados and fresh fruit I can get my hands on. I don't normally eat it much because my IBS doesn't like it when I eat healthy, but to heck with it now. :P
So I haven’t really had any cravings (more just felt crappy) but this was a weird moment. I got this prepackaged cook at hone meal from our local fresh market. I pulled open the chicken which was trimmed nd cut for stir fry so it was nice.
Every pregnancy ive vaguely craved sushi just in a ‘I can’t have it so I want it’ way. I stood there looking at this chicken. CHICKEN people. Raw. Chicken. Thinking, “man... that looks DELICIOUS. I could just eat it right now.”
Like i said it was cut kinda like sashimi BUT STILL. Gross.

Love Fresh Markets Sushi. Are California rolls a no go?

You can have them. The crab is cooked. I just hate not being able to branch out.

I agree, but you just made me happy. The sad part is my brain will want it but my body won’t.
@ssthomps I'd never even thought about those! I normally love the spicy raw tuna ones. But I could probably make the California rolls with shrimp work. It's worth a shot to satisfy a craving.

I’m in the same boat. I was craving it a week ago, but now.... Almost nothing sounds good
@neeraja_k they eat sushi. The worry about sushi (or beef tartare, or raw oysters) is the food poisoning risk from raw food. Not that there’s anything inherently dangerous or bad about the fish. Well, maybe too much mercury.
Honestly if you really trust trust your source you can eat it. I really like fresh market too but I wouldn’t get sushi there pregnant... more like a very reputable sushi chef.
Im going out for nye to a fancy 6 course dinner. The first course choice is oysters or fois Gras. I adore the former and don’t like the latter. I may bet the oysters despite being pregnant. I trust the restaurant to have fresh and safe food implicitly (in fact, the chef is on the current season of top chef! Tyler Anderson if you are watching! Millwright is in my town and soooo good)
I truly believe with all the restrictions you need to consider what’s the risk is and how you feel about it. Smoking crack? Major damage to baby and a little will harm - so don’t do it at all. Alcohol? A small bit probably won’t harm baby at all, a lot will. Depends how you feel about that line. Raw food? Risk is good poisoning, trusted source may be fine. Deli meat? Risk of listeria, which harms baby. Etc etc.
Yeah, honestly the risk of food borne illness is in every food, some are just more risky than others. TBH a lot of things I avoid because I don’t want people judging me. And plus if something did happen I’d feel terrible for not following the “rules”.
I’ve been reading Expecting Better (which I highly recommend!) and feel like I would eat high-end sushi if I really craved it based on her findings/explanation. Raw fish sounds soooo gross to me right now though! DH has been eating poke all week and its hard to even look at. The one thing I really really miss are runny eggs, and I think I will make my own when I can be sure the eggs are pasteurized and not old but don’t trust them from a restaurant.
