My UO...I don't like boy names on girls (BNOG) and I think the argument that it's okay because some names (ie: Ashley) used to be boy names buy are now girl names - is silly. I do think there are some VERY UNISEX names that could go either way but names that are now still traditionally men's names on girls? No. Flame away.
No flames from me, I agree! At least until people start naming their sons Sophia and Hannah
@Firemanswife11 Totally agree about the names! I’m going to add that unique spellings of names are just as bad. If it’s a family name or something, that’s one thing. Naming a kid Riley and spelling it Ryeleigh to be “different” is ridiculous.
@Firemanswife11 I couldn't agree more. My best friend is expecting a boy and her number one name is Shay. I've told her about 47 times there's no way I'll ever call her kid that and I will be using his middle name if she goes with it.

Between both my daughter’s names and Channing Tatum..... I, I just can’t. Lol

You should really change your screen name so we can keep track of who you are.

I just posted on the random thread that I’ve been trying for days and can’t figure it out. When I go to my settings, it shows the screen name I created myself.

@melprop I also dislike weird spellings of established names. But @Firemanswife11 I was all set to agree with you until I realized I have a family member who just named their son Kelly and I'm like, meh, that's cute. So i guess I don't agree!

Kelly was actually a male name originally. So that’s just another example.
@boymom4eva it was the bumpsplosion of 2014 I also know an adult male named Shay. I don't dislike boy names used on girls but I feel there are so fewer boy names than girl names and it just makes the list of boy names even shorter

Ah, the good old days, 2014 bump. (And that's why I have a new account and can't use my old one! )
@kcdo1010 your kid's names are cute. Those are definitely appropriate unisex names. I am talking more like... Elliot, Kyle, Ryan. I saw your girls' names on another post. Those aren't boyish to me at all.
I miss the old Bump ways of random threads here and there too.
We did Elf on the Shelf for my DD this year. She loves it. But I don’t anything fancy. I just move it somewhere new each night that’s high enough that DS can’t touch it.
@Firemanswife11 totally agree! Names like Ashley, Lesley, Marion, Kelly, and so on? All boy names that ppl took for girls and became girl names. It never goes the other way, so once a name switches that’s it. Boy names are so hard, and people naming their daughters Ryan just makes it harder! (That’s dh name and he haaaates that it’s becoming a girl name). I’m the mom of a Rory too... a boy name!
@izmom28 we are doing elf on the shelf this year and all we do is move it each night. My husband has said “isn’t he supposed to get into stuff or something?” I said “sure, you can get right on that lol.”
My 1 year old loves the elf every morning he looks and finds him before my oldest who is 3.5. Kind of wish I had started the elf sooner!
I just had to unbutton my jeans. I did eat a muffin just now but still.... the bloat is real. So excited about fitting into a bridesmaid dress next week!!!
My UO is I really don’t like Christmas. I’m hoping that will change once baby is born. But as of right now I’m dreading tomorrow and Monday. On the plus side I can’t wait to tell my mom I’m pregnant!
side note: I love my family, but they are hard to handle without alcohol, maybe that’s why I'm being a grinch.
@marafox I’m the same way with both Christmas and my family (mostly DH’s family). DS’s birthday is 12/22, so I’m usually trying to plan multiple birthday parties (one for each side of the family) while shopping, getting the house ready for Christmas, and doing all the traditions with DS. It’s exhausting, and DH is on call every other weekend, so there’s no guarantee he’ll be around to do anything. Plus dealing with both families sans wine makes me want to drive to the airport and catch the next flight out of the state.
I think it's stupid that my cousin still dresses her 5 year old fraternal twin daughters exactly alike. I never liked it for identical twins either, but on fraternal twins it just seems over the top attention-hoor (which she naturally is, so it's part for the course I guess). A blind man could see they're polar opposites personality wise. I feel for her kids, especially the tomboy one, being forced into wearing things she very clearly doesn't want to wear.

I was on the April 14 board. But I did minimal posting. I was mostly a lurker.
