@doxiemoxie212 I’ve definitely gotten a cold. It sucks. I’ve just been diffusing a breathe blend in an attempt to decongest but it hasn’t really helped.

Thanks all for the input! I went to CVS and talked to the pharmacist today, partially bc the store here is a disaster to find anything, and was told Rhinocort and Claritin are safest, but probably most are fine for short term use. I’m going to try the rhinocort and see if it helps. If it doesn’t I might try Allegra. Also making some veggie soup in case I’m just sick lol.
@doxiemoxie212 - So, I take Allegra everyday. And when my allergies are crazy, flonase. My doctor is well aware, and hasn't said anything to me about not taking it. I took it with DD too. *shrugs*

@doxiemoxie212 I'm just getting over a sinus cold and my pharmacist said I could only use a saline spray. Sinex is pretty good {it took awhile for it to work on me} ANOTHER REALLY GOOD ONE: steaming water, spoonful {or 2} of Vicks and drape towel over your head and just inhale. I had to do that before the sinex actually started working because I was so blocked up
@doxiemoxie212 hope you are feeling better. During my first pregnancy I was told it was okay to take benedryl and when I did my ms went away. I used it daily- tw than found out I had miscarried the week I started taking benedryl tw- so now I just suffer from allergies or colds. I use neti pots (even though I hate them and need to talk myself into it for like 10 minutes). If your mom has a humidifier that you can add Vicks too that would help too (if you don't buy one- and ship it to yourself when you go home- good for stuffy babies).
@MissKittyDanger I kept reading mixed results on pregnancy and EOs - some said diffusers are okay, others said not even diffusers. I know Lavender was one that was a no-no during early pregnancy.
@marcus7676 Damn. Lavender and Eucalyptus are my go tos! Hmmm .... I have appt with my OB in like week and half, so maybe she can clarify. I'm thinking it might be a first trimester thing. I miss my diffuser, especially when I was sick :')
I have done a bit of EO research and I’m not even a big EO user but I find it very interesting. I only have a very small diffuser and pre-pregnancy only used it for 10 minutes at a time. I would say it’s similar risk to medicine/supplements - some have been studied in labs and found to be high risk in animals though most are administered in large doses orally which doesn’t really translate to limited diffuser use (for example oregano oil affected rat fetuses in the highest doses given orally) and others have not been studied or are considered relatively low risk. Almost all of the information online is anecdotal but there are certain ones that are commonly recommended to avoid during pregnancy including cinnamon, clove, rosemary and clary sage. I like the aromatherapy aspect but have found a natural room spray I like and am also looking into just nice candles
@courtyowl427 - Did you get the results back yet? Just checking in.

@lisa2589 I had a really bad reaction to Claritin prior to pregnancy (dizziness, inability to pee, extreme thirst; it was nuts) so wary of that.
Anyone know about Allegra or Flonase? That’s what DH takes so I have easy access to it... starting to worry I’m actually sick tho lol
