  • @bpietronicco way to go! I am so glad all 4 did well. Can't wait for your beta. Are you going to test early? I know some people don't. I can't stand to wait so I do around 8 days after transfer cuz my clinic makes me wait the full 14 days before beta.

  • Hii All,

Its bittersweet to see how active this group is (b/c none of us really want to be here), but thank goodness we're here together. THE SUPPORT IS REAL

To all you lovelies who did not get the news you were hoping for, sending hugs and hope your way.  To the other lovelies getting those great numbers and are/awaiting to be PUPO: CONGRATS! Lots of stickybean vibes and rainbows.

We had our ER on 12/11 after converting from an IUI cycle. Check out the spoiler box for the deets, but we're now awaiting AF to kick of our January FET. I have been going through this a little detached emotionally so I wouldn't be as hurt by any disappointing news along the way. But after getting the the call today that we have actual embryos frozen makes it all the more real for me. Its like my babies are in the freezer. The one thing that has never happened (fertilization) really occurred and those cells developed. Its surreal for me....even this early in the process. I'm a little scared too. Scared to hope to high, to get invested a little too much. So I am trying to take it one day, one step at a time.

    Me (33) & DH (29)
    DS (13) DS (11)

    Ready to try again 2017:

    IUI converted to IVF Dec'17
    ER 12/11, 20 eggs retrieved/15  mature, 12 eggs fertilized and 5 day5 blasts frozen

@LadyDouce Congrats on having 5 frosties!!! That’s amazing! Are you doing PGS testing?

AFM - today is cd3 I go in for blood work this morning and we start meds tonight! I’m excited and also nervous so many things can go wrong and all the what if’s are flooding my brain. I’m trying to stay positive here, but I am an emotional person and a worrier. I almost had to call my brother last night and ask him if he could help me with my shots tonight ( he and my SIL just went throw it a few months back) because H was supposed to leave tonight and be back tomorrow I guess With all the commotion and the holiday madness I didn’t put two and two together. I’m pretty sure he’s staying, so disaster averted.
  • @mandurz I do not test early- I have seen too many negatives that I would just rather wait for the blood test.

@ndz2018 congrats on starting meds!  My husband had to go out of town during stims and had to have several neighbors help me.  Glad you husband doesn’t have to go or of town but goos that you have a backup!

@LadyDouce congrats on the 5 frosties! So exciting!  I am still waiting To hear if my remaining two make it to freeze!
  • Ladies I’ve been diagnosed with ohss .. worst feeling ever. Anyone else ? What can I do to help? I’m having a transvaginal tap tomorrow
  • Ugh, that's awful @krenee124! Did they say if it was mild/moderate/severe? Are you on meds for it? I'm sure the doctor already told you, but definitely drink something with electrolytes in it (gatorade,  smart water, or coconut water) and eat salty snacks. Do you do acupuncture? If so, I'd see your acupuncturist. Rest up and I hope you feel better soon!

  • @LadyDouce congrats on the 5 frosties! That's amazing. How many are you transferring in Jan?

@krenee124 oh no! I have never had it but I hope it's mild and goes away fast.

@ndz2018 I hate when my brain goes into all of the awful possibilities, glad you are starting meds. I always would tell myself a goal for each appointment and up until that day make it almost a mantra telling my ovaries or hormones do to what my goal was lol. That was how I tried to stay positive to keep out of the negative possible rabbit hole.

AFM one more day of BCP and of course I have break through spotting as of yesterday. Not a full flow. But I guess my body is just as ready to start as I am. I don't think I will have to wait til the 22nd. I will go in early if I start early.

  • @tosh24 I think it’s severe.. on a positive note, I got a positive beta but that’s what is causing all the trouble bc the hcg is trying to fill the already enlarged ovaries.

I have pain all through my body and the doc said it was from all the fluid around my body. And not draining well. The tap should relieve a lot of pain but he said it will most likely build up again. I am on aspirin, levonox, (blood thinners Bc at high risk for blood clots), Vicodin, and two nausea meds. Have no appetite and my stomach is so swollen. It’s crazy... can’t believe it happened so late.

I dont see see an acupuncturist but maybe will have to consider.

@krenee124 OH NO! I’m so sorry! That sounds awful! You poor thing!  I’m absolutely no help but I hope you feel better soon! If I were you id eat some Vicodin and take a nap.

  • @krenee124 Congrats! I thought you may have a had a + test because the OHSS got so bad.  Having hcg in your system makes OHSS worse which is why if there is an OHSS risk most docs won't transfer. Your symptoms sound awful. I'd just follow the advice of your doctor but if you start to feel any worse or start to have trouble breathing, get yourself to an ER STAT. I hope the tap tomorrow helps you to feel better.

  • @ndz2018Thank thank you. No PGS this time bc we converted to ivf and hadn’t saved the money. Any issues with this group and I’d definitely do a fresh cycle w/ PGS.                 So glad your brother is around to help to help you with the shots too. When I had to do a few of mine solo it was a little nerve wracking. It’s easier for me to have DH do them.

@bpietronnico Thanks we’re so happy. Now I get to worry about the thaw and implantation. Hoping everything goes great with your 2 babies’ freeze

@Krenee124 I’m sorry, OHSS sucks. Yours sounds severe but you should start to feel better once they get that fluid out. Like the other lovelies said: Gatorade, Powerade, smart water for the electrolytes. Salty foods to increase your sodium level and help soak up some of the extra fluid. Try resting with you feet up and going to pee often.  I had a mild/moderate case myself this cycle but only high E2 and some free fluid on u/s. RE had me do a Lupron trigger instead of the HCG and freeze all. I tried to stay in bed bc I was so swollen/bloated and walking around just hurt

@Mandurz Thank you. I’m still a little in shock. RE recommends a single embryo transfer since this is my first transfer and he thinks my chances are good. I agree because although I’d feel overly blessed with twins, I am a small lady (5ft) and I’d be hella paranoid about the babies growth and preterm labor. Buutt, on the other hand I’d like to better our chances, so the final decision still has to be made.                     I really hope you get your real period like right now. Definitely sounds like the body’s onboard. I’m due Christmas Day and I feel like a kid who peeked at a gift and just can’t wait to get it

  • @LadyDouce oh yeah like I said before this is weird being so excited for AF to come lol. I was too nervous first time around to do a single embryo transfer....

    **Tw**
I am also short 5'1 and did have twins at 29 weeks after transferring two. Though I think it had more to do with my cervix than my height. And though my story didn't end too well when it comes to that, I am glad we did the two embryos the first time around.

  • Okay ladies - I’m sorry I’ve been so hit and miss on here. Today was interesting. They drained a little over 3.5 liters of fluid. I could not believe it. I had nearly instant relief. I did get a second positive beta! I hope this is encouraging for everyone going through and getting ready to start IVF! It is worth it.

I am at risk for filling with fluid again in 3-6 days but I will just continue to monitor. No other appts until first ultrasound on 1/5. Which has me scared to death.

  • 12/10. I had a positive test at home 5dp5dt. Crazy early. First beta was Saturday and it was 85. Second beta today was 200 something. Positive vibes for EVERYONE here!

Got a call from the embryologist today and the other 2 didn’t make it.  They made it to yesterday - day 5 early blast but stopped growing today.  They were lower grade than the two transferred so I am hoping I still have a chance.

Edited to say 2 instead of 3- typo!)
  • @bpietronicco Sending you fertile vibes girl!
  • So sorry that your other embryos didn't make it to freeze @bpietronicco. I know that's disappointing. I am hoping and wishing that it is all moot because you will be getting your BFP with your recent transfer :)

  • Today is CD1! They are keeping me on the estrace until Thursday and I will go in for my baseline on Friday on CD 4 (my "assigned" CD 3) and start stims that night. I'm assuming they did that so that I didn't have to go in for a monitoring appointment on Christmas day, which I would have otherwise had to do. Let's get this party started!

@bpietronicco thank goodness it’ll come faster with the holidays! I hope at least!! Keep busy

    @tosh Whoop Whoop! Merry CD1!!

I'm trying to stay distracted until AF decides to show. Between work and the holidays, I should stay pretty busy.
  • Good morning guys! Went for an US this morning and on day 4 if stimming. He said I have lots of eggs.. 10 on the right and 10 on the left.. I know it’s still super early and we won’t know for a few more day which ones look good but those are good number, yes??
  • @ndz2018 Did he say if all those those were 'measureable'? 20 follies after 4 days of stimming sounds like a pretty good number to me! how are you feeling? Any side effects so far? I'm so worried about feeling awful over Christmas, but it is what it is.

@tosh24 No, he didn’t tell me the measurements just said lots of them. Headaches but those are bearable, Tylenol somewhat helps. I am def bloated and have like gas pains more in the morning and at night. But so far isn’t too bad. I actually did my own injections last night Bc I wanted to see if I could and no hesitation just did it.. took two seconds.
  • @tosh24 woo hoo for CD 1...mine too lol. I called and am waiting to see if they want me to keep my appointment Fri (that was set up as a come in with or without AF) or if they want me to come in sooner. Originally nurse said come in day 2 so who knows.

@krenee124 congrats! Can't wait to keep hearing good news from you!

@ndz2018 holy cow those are amazing numbers. Did they say what your blood work looked like?

@bpietronicco I am so sorry that the other 2 stopped growing. Stay strong in knowing that the 2 you did transfer will stick.

  • @ndz2018 Great to hear you're not feeling too bad! Luckily, I don't have any issues giving the shots to myself but I'm definitely worried about the headaches - I've had chronic migraines since I was 19 and hormones tend to aggravate them. When I did injects for IUI I had one big headache for the first 4-5 days of stims and that was on half the dose of meds, so......I guess I should make sure all my Christmas prep is done by Friday :s

@mandurz Yay for cycle buddies! Always nice to have someone else moving through the stages at the same time :)

Is anyone else doing acupuncture? How often are you/did you go during your IVF cycle? I've been going for about a year now but I'm upping my frequency during this cycle. Of course, cycling over Christmas, nowhere is open. I have an appointment for Friday (the 22nd) but I won't start stimming until that night, and then I can't get in anywhere again until the 27th. I'm trying to find somewhere that is open the morning of Christmas Eve, but that's proving difficult. I know I have a really good ovarian response to acupuncture (caught that unexpectedly on ultrasound) so I'm worried about going 5 days in between treatments.

  • Got blood work this morning but won’t have results till this afternoon.. Come on you little follies GROW!!
When i was talking to my SIL this morning she said from the start of injection to her ER it was 10 days.. WELL if I’m the same way my ER will be on Christmas Day(yes they are open) Idk if that’s a good thing or bad thing but it is what it is.

@tosh24 I’m sorry about your headaches. You can ask about taking something a lil stronger IF YOU NEED to. I used To do accu for my neck injury. Haven’t started it with fertility treatment but have been considering starting before FET! Maybe I’ll call and make an app today and see if they’ll take me tomorrow.
  • So looks like I’m sticking with the same meds as the last 3 nights. 300 Gonal and 20 low dose HCG . She said they were tiny so I guess They need a little more time to cook
  • @ndz2018 20 follicles so far is great news! Thinking of you during this stim time & your little babies! I hope they all continue to grow about the same rate and end up being so mature & juicy!!!
@tosh24  I never did do acupuncture. One doctor where I live recommends to every patient, my practice doesn’t. Honestly I don’t have time to add another appointment so I was somewhat glad but i have heard it can be really relaxing. Are they able to do acupuncture to help your migraines?

All of the stims, including femara back in the day gave me headaches. They’re just nagging.
  • So I will be starting clomid and femera twice a day tomorrow (as long as blood work looks good today). 75 menopur. And as long as things go well retrieval will be on Jan 2nd. I will do 3/4 shots of gonal f after 5 days but only every other day. I am so excited. Next monitor appointment is on the 27th.
