Re: Symptoms Thread - week starting 12/10

  • @mamaek I'm right there with you. I don't remember being this tired with my first! Working out has been so hard too. I work out first thing in the morning, and when I wake up, I'm still just full body tired. My runs have been more like jogs and they aren't giving me the energy boost I hope for. I'm still in bed by 8:30-9ish the next night!

@mrsbubbles-2 Yep - only the essential laundry is getting done around here. I'm manic about folding it as soon as it's done. Well, I've left three loads in the baskets since last weekend because I just can't get it done. But like you said, we're growing little people right now!!!

  • @mrsbubbles-2 talk about dozing off on the couch by 8:30-9 lol. DH is usually the one doing that and he’s amazed it’s been me these last couple weeks. The struggle is real.
Thank you for the reminder, hard to remember with this type A personality  :| we have no clean clothes, house is a mess and we’re having guests for dinner tonight. Imagine what that’s doing ha! I will have to just do the essentials.

@westphilly I wonder why we’re that much tired this time around. Would sex of baby have anything to do with it? Probably not, but still can’t wait to find out haha.
I really should start working out like @mrsbubbles-2 suggested. Getting on that walker doesn’t seem that hard, oh but it is!
Really hope it does give me more energy. My one cup of coffee isn’t cutting it for me (I quit cafeine all together with my first, not even decaf. And I wasn’t this tired).
  • My how things changed in a week! Last week i peed on a stick again to make sure i was still pregnant because I felt just fine, today I’m scarfing down saltines wishing the nausea away and crying on the couch by myself. I don’t need to pee on stick today to know that little Appleseed is in there.

  • Morning sickness is in effect now. Started promptly at the 6 week mark. I'm still exhausted all of the time, but my breasts aren't as painful. I have to keep food in me at all times to keep nausea at bay, which concerns me about how much weight I'm going to gain. I'm not used to eating this much. It is at least easing my MC concerns. I'm really glad I don't have to go to work during all of this. I can't imagine how difficult I would find that at the moment.

  • I'm only 4w1d, so I don't think I've had too many symptoms- sore boobs, period-like cramps that come and go, some bloat (but no constipation- I tend to "go" a lot, and I'm still pretty regular), very hungry, and minimal energy. All I did today was eat cereal out of a box and shower and I'm beat. And this is after a full night's sleep. I also have a nasty taste in my mouth no matter how much I brush or eat.

This is my first so I have no idea what to expect or look for.

  • @jsnakehole I had a bad taste in my mouth for my first too. I remember googling that symptom. I also currently have and previously had strange feeling teeth/gums. Sounds weird but totally normal it's due to increase in blood supply.

  • I think I am 5 weeks today- I have a dating ultrasound scheduled for Jan. 2nd to find out for sure.... but my goodness, my lower back is killing me!! It comes and goes- mostly when I am walking around. It sucks because I am a runner and generally super active, but it has been making it hard to be active!!! I have never had this symptom with pregnancy before - i didn’t really have any symptoms with DD. Has anyone else/ is anyone else going through this? I am thinking about going to my chiropractor it is getting so bad!
  • Is fluctuation in breast tenderness normal? I feel like my chest isn't as sore as it was yesterday and it's freaking me out.

I've been POAS like crazy and I'm still getting clear BFPs but now I'm nervous.

  • ^^^ Mine stopped being as sore too. I think I remember this happening my first pregnancy too, and I freaked, so I’m trying to stay calm this time. All my other symptoms (dry heaving when I open the fridge, nausea, hatred for plain water) are still in full force.

@amac12999 aside from a little crampiness, I feel like I'm not having too many symptoms. I'm still super hungry (not tired but I've only been up for an hour), but that could be in my head. I'm also only 4w2d.

This is my first time ever being pregnant so I'm so nervous. I'm trying to relax, but I feel like that's making me stress more.

  • @jsnakehole I’ll be six weeks on Monday and my bewbs just started feeling sore. I think I remember it coming and going with DS. I really didn’t have any symptoms with him and so far it’s been the same this time around. Just hungry and tired, but that’s me on a non-pregnant day.
  • @kayldawn I’ve already had to go to the chiropractor. I wish I had stared sooner last pregnancy. I was miserable.

@jsnakehole it definitely comes and goes, as do most symptoms. It is a bit of a mindf@&k

  • @lalala2004 it definitely is! Everything is freaking me out. Like @mrs_drc_rn said, tired and hungry is me on a regular day so I can't really go by that. As excited as I am, I'm a nervous wreck. I'll feel so much better once I can talk to my doctor tomorrow.

  • @jsnakehole at 4 weeks I wasn’t having many symptoms either so don’t worry. I’m closer to 7/8 weeks.
  • I spoke too soon, and now they're back to feeling sore like they were yesterday. I also ate a bowl of leftover pasta about an hour or so ago and I'm starving again.

I've been torturing my cousin who had a baby in April with questions about symptoms. I feel like she really appreciates you guys giving her a break (almost as much as I appreciate you guys answering me!).

  • @jsnakehole I don't want to say I'm glad your boobs hurt but I am because it's comforting to you! If it helps at all, until I reached the third tri with DS I had no symptoms! No morning sickness, no real nausea, no sore boobs!

  • Not sure how far on I am guessing between 6 and 7 weeks absolutely ill such sickness and fatigue is unbearable
  • @ecwk I am having the craziest dreams! To the point where DH is like “what crazy dreams did you have last night?” haha.

I am also weirdly freezing allll the time lately, is that a weird symptom or just me? I just went and bought a sweatshirt because we are at a sports bar in Maui watching football and I was like trembling and had goosebumps. I am usually always hot and was expecting to be even hotter pregnant so super weird!

  • ^^^ I’m usually cold natured but have been extra cold too. So strange!
  • @ecwk @legallykate Strange dreams are how I knew I was pregnant last time, and I've been having them like crazy the past two weeks. My mom had weird dreams with me, so I kind of always had that in my mind as a symptom.

I've also been super cold lately.

My cramping and spotting has mostly gone away, which makes me feel better. But now my food aversion has kicked in. They are kind of like anti cravings. The sight of ribs made me nauseated last night, and I just don't want to eat much. I had this last time too, so hoping all is going well.
  • +1 for freezing all the time, @legallykate @amac12999 @7425cait
I was freezing all the time with DS too, but this time I’m also getting ridiculous hot flashes twice a day or so.

  • @kayldawn yes!! My back is killing me!!! This is my 2nd, and I'm sure it has to do with the relaxin and our bodies already knowing what's going on. I'm super active too and I can hardly do anything right now. I'm still in my pj's and it's almost 4 pm lol.
  • I'm not cold, I'm getting hot flashes! I was shopping with DH earlier and had to go outside because I was sweating.

  • Another one, this may or may not be related to pregnancy but has anyone so far experienced dental pain? Or any STM+ experience it before? Today my upper back left teeth/molars hurt, the whole area is throbbing. It may be linked to recent sinus problems/a cold but a friend of mine mentioned how he got it early on in two of her pregnancies!!

  • @ecwk yeah, has to do with increased blood flow and your nasal passages changing. Some people have issues with molars actually moving around.
Although, this is a good time to remind everyone to make sure you get your teeth cleaned at least once, hopefully twice during pregnancy!

The more I think about it the more I realise it's probably a sinus issue. I have pain on my cheeks/beside my nose, upper jaw, eurgh. And I can't take sudafed so idk what to do :disappointed:

  • 5 weeks 2 days and Symptoms are driving me nuts! Yesteday I was dry heaving and today nothing! I did spend the morning crying so i guess i have that going on now. My boobs don't hurt much anymore but my bra strap is now too tight. Fun stuff
  • @ecwk My OB has Sudafed on their list of approved pregnancy medications, so please double check with your Dr. I'd hate for you to be suffering unnecessarily.

  • @ecwk when I was pregnant with DS, I was told I could take plain sudafed but then I read recently that you shouldn’t. A friend of mine was told she could take Claritin and Benadryl. Has your doctor given the ok to take anything? I’m not one for taking too many meds so I’m just trying to tough it out too.
  • @Firemanswife11 that sucks that you are having the back pain too!!! That makes so much sense about the relaxin. Crazy pregnancy hormones!   :# Also, it was a PJ’s at 4pm kind of day for me too ;)
  • I’m cold a lot at the moment too!! Random shivers and then feel like I’m thermonuclear other times! As far as I know I’m 6 weeks tomorrow.
Boobs = ouch, my niece hugged me today and smacked her head into my chest which left me reeling!!
I also find if I don’t eat for 3 hours or more I feel nauseous and have to pause when I eat again. And just tired all the time.

I definitely took Benadryl when I was pregnant with DS.
