I had my appointment today. My OB told me beforehand that it often takes a long time to find the HB on the doppler this early and if she can’t I would get another US. It took her awhile but she found it! Healthy 149 bpm
Just got back from my 2nd OB appt. 13 weeks today. I went to give a urine sample and forgot to pee in the cup and just went in the toilet. The baby's HB was between 150-160. Go back in 4 weeks.
@megara5 - I feel like that's the story of my life. Forgetting to pee in the cup. I've literally sat there holding the cup and thinking about how much I hate peeing in them, and then peed straight into the toilet.
So @TravelingCouple's story kept me from freaking TF out at my appointment today. She used the doppler for the first time she kept checking no heart beat. I remained calm bc I have 3 huge fibroids that would make the baby harder to see in the u/s but never the heartbeat. After about 3 minutes she finally finds it, and she says "I was about to give up." I was like OMG, never say you give up.
NT this morning went well. The little bugger wasn't cooperating so she only got one good picture of the NT but she also saw the nasal bone so that's good. She said at least one is fine but they usually try to get more. It was really funny because LO's head was turned just a little bit the wrong way so she asked me to lay on my left side to get it to tilt just a bit and the little stinker decided to completely flip over onto it's stomach. But we did get a cute picture of them rump up in the air.
The peace of mind of just seeing them kicking in there and to see a brain developing was so needed. I was starting to freak out that we were going to go in there today and it wasn't going to look good and I would have to contact all the people we sent cards to.

I had a quick ultrasound yesterday with the nurse on the little hand held one..the nurse was immediately like- OMG look how long those legs are!!! I was like yeah, I"m5'9", hubs is 6'4", dd is 99.9% for height...it was bound to happen, lol...but little babe was kicking like CRAZY, she was pretty impressed with the amount of movement too. So reassuring.
I had my 16 week appointment today. My doctor couldn't find the heartbeat so I started to get really nervous. She grabbed an ultrasound machine and it turns out I have an anterior placenta (explaining the difficulty finding the heartbeat and the lack of movement I've felt). Two is moving like crazy, the brain was very clear, and the HB was in the 140s. Two took up my entire uterus - its head was touching one end and its toes were at the other. My doc said Two is about 9-10 inches now, which is crazy.
@TravelingCouple I am tearing up just reading this. And by tearing up, I mean they are pouring down my face. That is so scary and can't imagine the panic. So glad you have a team that was willing to put in a little extra effort. And what an awesome picture of the little babe you got!
