So DH told me a few weeks ago, his mom said she wanted a robe for Christmas. So that's what I got her. Yesterday, he says that she has gone and bought herself "the perfect robe" and now wants watercolour paper instead. Gah! I refuse to waste my time returning what we already got and buying her something else, so I told him to tell her that I've already bought the robe and I've got too much on my plate, so he doesn't want to bother me with this. lol
But who does that - buys themselves something on their Xmas list two weeks prior?
Currently I'm wondering where everyone is this morning. I'm having to actually work instead of bump and its sad.
ETA: Words are hard
We are all sick haha at least I’ve been in a semi coma trying to breathe.
Also doing work from home. Oh you want a full event on two days notice and I’m not in the office again until the day before your event. Cool yeah it’s no problem. I hate people.
I got an email that my amazon account was used to buy 2 pregnancy pillows. I thought my account was hacked--canceled the order and changed my password. I text DH to let him know since he just started using Amazon. Turns out--he was being thoughtful and order a pillow for me, as well as our SIL who is pregnant. Oops...
I’ve got a random. I hit 30 weeks today and it hit me that I’m more scared/nervous of labor this time than the last 2 times. DS1 was an induction that went really smoothly. DS2 was a fast labor and I didn’t even know I was in labor.
I think I’m more nervous because DS2 was such a fast delivery and since we moved last year we are an hour from our hospital.
@hms1219 I also just had the fear of delivery kick in recently. DS was induction--went smooth. I just counted on this going the same way--then my imagination just started running wild. We also live over an hour from our hospital. I don't know how to calm this fear--but know you aren't alone!
I hope everyone is doing well! It has been absolutely insanity over here. Our tile floors are still not done and they were supposed to be finished Wednesday! I failed my 1 hour and had to go take the 3 but passed that one. We have to have our roof replaced and we are living in total chaos since we can't get everything unpacked until the tile is done. DD is adjusting okay to the move. The first night here was REALLY rough. I also ended up dropping out of a wedding/ending a friendship all together. Last week was crazy. I'd like an easy week please.
My husband has been off work for 45 days due to a friggen comedy of errors regarding some health issues. He got the call from Transport Canada today saying he’s clear to work. Thank freaking god. He has to bid for his January schedule by Wednesday and we were so worried that he wasn’t going to be allowed to bid and end up working the leftovers and therefore potentially being gone for birth.
@SarahFoley725 Holy cow, girl. Take it easy this week! I am glad you passed your three hour. I hope the rest of your remodel goes smoothly! You deserve it--you have had a lot of house stress this pregnancy!
@TattoosandLace Good luck at your appointment. I hope all is well with Baby!
Wow @SarahFoley725 - I hope this week is much better for you. When are the roof and floor supposed to be finished now?
I have NO idea on the floors. It has been the most dramatic experience ever and I would like to recommend that no one every use Home Depot floor instillation service. I'll spare y'all all the drama but the tech has lied to us multiple times, hasn't shown up several days and has left for lunch and not come back a few times too. DH called today and told them we are uncomfortable with him finishing the work at this point because he's such a liar so now we have to wait for a new person.
The roof should hopefully be a one day job. A family friend is taking care of us so I don't have any concerns there.
I’m really trying to give a damn at work today. But I just can’t. My principal and AP have text me in the last five minutes but I haven’t exited the bump app to read what the hell they want.
@hms1219 & @magnolia305 I'm also over an hour from my hospital & Dr. I started preterm labor with DD at 30 weeks & had to go on bed rest. I'm 30 weeks this week so I'm keeping fingers crossed! I'm having a scheduled repeat c-section just because my Dr is concerned with my being so far away & having too much scar tissue from my emergency c-section to safely have a VBAC. I'm just talking to LO about cooperating and staying in place and how he doesn't have to be exactly like his older sister right from the get go.

Haha, I ran into this over the weekend! Someone sent a note around saying they'd gone ahead and gotten X off their list. Fortunately I hadn't bought it.
7:45 am emergency faculty meeting to tell us that last night, a student (one I teach) posted a threat to the school on social media. Police were called & the school admin were called, and the threat was determined not to be serious. The kid was “just joking with his friends.” Kid is suspended and police are on campus today “just in case.” I’m usually (unfortunately) not phased by these things, but now that I’m pregnant, I’m totally uneasy being here. Looking around at all the coughing, sneezing, runny-nosed faculty and students isn’t helping either.

Every year I have to tell my mom not to buy herself anything. The one year it was an iPad, the next it was some sheets she said she wanted. You are already hard enough to shop for, quit making it harder!!!
@chucksmom15 - Same! Part of me feels like I'll know it when it comes, but then I wonder if maybe it'll start off so gradually that I won't connect it until it's too late.
@ash0625 - My mom had very quick labours, so I'm half-expecting the same. I'm prepared to go without drugs though.
@hms1219 and @magnolia305 I also had a sudden onset of anxiety about actually giving birth hit me the other day. Granted, I'm a FTM so this is all new to me, but every time I'd think about my baby, I'd been picturing after she's already arrived. It hit me the other day that I actually have to give birth to her in 8 weeks!
@SarahFoley725 - I'd be furious and raise hell. I definitely think they should give you a discount because of their horrible service.
Also a FTM, and worried about labor! I'm working until the day I deliver, so a part of me is hoping that I don't have to go to the hospital when I'm at work!
Her heartrate was elevated at the appointment, so I got sent for monitoring. Got there at 11 and HR was higher than dr’s office. It’s 1:30 and I’m just now leaving. She’s pulling shenanigans. There were so many beds full though I’m not sure they would have had room if I had to stay.

Hope that she stops with her shenanigans! That’s got to be stressful on you!
Would it be odd to put cleaning stuff on the baby registry? We use Norwex and have the mop and I'd love to get another wet mop pad so I don't have to constantly clean the first one or be without when it's in the wash. Do you think I'm safe to add it or should I just suck it up and buy it myself?
@hms1219 - Oh wow. I've had midwives that lived 30-60 min away, which is partly why induction was the go-to plan with ds1 and ds2. I started labor in transition with my first two, but it only lasted 32 minutes with dd2. I also had to prepare for an unplanned UC with my last three. I felt a little relief with dd3 because my midwife lives two miles from us, but I was still nervous because it was no guarantee she'd arrive quick enough if she weren't available or was attending another birth. She tried easing my worries, but it was still in the front of my mind. The plus side, my membranes had been leaking for a while so we knew it would happen eventually. It was just a lot of waiting. And once the contractions started, they were like BH and irregular. Nothing painful or labor-like pretty much up to her birth. Had my midwife not checked me I wouldn't have known anything was actually happening, at which point I was 8 cm and she was born maybe three minutes later.
My concern is PPH, so being in a controlled environment is key for me. I'll be induced, but there's always the worry of going into spontaneous transition before then when we're not prepared. My OB said they'll just induce if I come in for my usual appt. at 5-6 cm, which is typical for me. If you're worried about precip you can try bringing it up to your caregiver to plan the best route.

@ldawngirl781 I think put it on there. One of my favorite shower gifts was a cordless Dyson. It was/is SO handy with a dog and a toddler. If you don't get your wet mop--at least you can use the completion discount!
@TattoosandLace that little lady needs to quit fooling around! I hope your contractions have stopped and you have a less stressful end to the day.
@Jennifer_m21@gingermama26 and @chucksmom15 I'm also a FTM and afraid I won't recognize when I'm in labor. I work an hour away from the hospital and home. I DO NOT want it to start while I'm at work. I know they don't want me to go past my due date and are going to start sweeping my membranes at 37 weeks to encourage labor to start naturally. I'm also thinking about trying accupuncture to induce labor (closer to my due date). I would really like to avoid pitocin.
School today was uneventful, as promised. As friends start their IVF journeys, I've been thinking a lot about what it took to get to this point and I'm really re-evaluating my priorities.
I’ve had moments of anxiety about labor this time too, last time I was induced unexpectedly so I didn’t have time to think about it and was in the hospital well before labor actually started so it was all monitored and controlled (though it meant I had a bajillion cervix checks and that was literally the most painful part of the whole process so I think I’m most nervous about getting to the end because of those!!!) I’d love to go into labor on my own this time. But nervous to do that since I’ve not experienced that before!

My work internet was down all morning, and they only sent a "fix" for it a couple of hours ago. I had a long talk with my supervisor about my mat leave and how I'm going to cover it, and I feel a lot better now. It will still take 15 months to pay back the advanced sick leave they're giving me (as I earn leave I pay down my debt), but I'll have 40 hours of annual leave leftover when I get back, plus the 36 hours I'll accrue while I'm out, so I'll be covered for any doctor appointments/illnesses/vacations when I get back.
@TattoosandLace I'm hoping that sending you home means they're not worried, but keep us posted.

I wasn’t really too nervous about labour until my mom told me that she went to her weekly checkup at 39 weeks and the doctor told her he’d see her in a week. She was in the hospital an hour later and gave birth 3 hours later. So I’m like. Holy shit. It can happen that fast?!?!
+ 1 for being nervous about delivery. Also I am not having the epidural or meds and DH doesn't think I am strong enough without. She's staying in forever I have determined. Until they find an easier way to get her out.

Wow, that's express lane fast.
I guess it's better to pack the hospital bag on the early side of things then?
Whew, glad to know I’m not the only one scared to go into labor and not know it. I’ve already had the nightmares about not having a hospital bag or even the car set ready (in my dream, we went to Costco while I was in labor instead of going to the hospital).

Is going home an option @babybro218? I would be so uneasy.
I am terrified I won't know I'm in labor. I know it's probably irrational but as a FTM I have no idea what it feels like.
@TattoosandLace - Hope the appointment is smooth and uneventful and baby stays put.
@chucksmom15 - me too. Or that I'll labor too fast and there won't be time for drugs.
