Mine for today is that I don't ever, and can say with 99.99% certainty will never, believe any woman who says she didn't know she was pregnant. Didn't know until 25-30+ weeks? Maybe. But not the, I sat down to poop and bam! There's a baby! Nope, sorry. I think there's a LOT of denial that goes on, so "didn't know" and "didn't put the pieces together" are two totally different things.

@sandbar517 same. I know one person in real life who this happened to. She thought her appendix burst and went to the ER and she was like 31 weeks pregnant. She had semi regular bleeding every month. Her son has cerebral palsy and I’m wondering if maybe he didn’t move in the womb and that’s how she never felt him? I really don’t know if I believe her. It just seems insane. Also she was already pretty heavy so she didn’t appear to have much of a bump

I haven’t read a news article or watched a news show in a very long time. And thus have no idea what is happening with the sexual harassment stuff ppl are talking about in UO. I mean I’m anti guys being allowed to be douches but I have nothing specific to share.

I'm too cheap to get haircuts. Every month I say "I should get my haircut" and then don't. I hate the cost cutter type places because I have yet to find a stylist at those that can cut my hair even. AND GUYS, I have super straight, boring hair. And it's basically a straight cut with some light fringe. So I go to a salon, but hate spending the $50-60. It's been like 8 months at this point.
Maybe before Christmas I'll do it??
Probably not though.

@suchaglencoco I do the same thing! I need one really bad, i have actually had good luck at hair cuttery and usually am able to fit a cut in during the workday. have you tried them? I like to think of them between cost cutters/great clips and a full blown salon.

@suchaglencoco I'm the same way. I got my hair cut in August, was "supposed" to go back in October and have been doing the "I should go back" story with myself since then. And today I got a birthday email from the place I was at in August that said I can get a free mini facial, free paraffin hand wax, or something else if I go before Jan. 31st. I think I'll call and make an appointment......paraffin hand wax... yummmmmmmm

Of course our experiences could be different but mine has an instructor to oversee them so I've never had a screw up. Try it!

I was inspired by a few of the FFC on the June board.

1. I could give a shit about the beach. The view is cool but I would rather be by a pool reading. I hate ocean water and sand. Pools are easier to cool off in/NO SAND!

2. During my brief time on the TTGP board, I was trying to learn all the acronyms. There is a question on the weekly check ins where you list all the things you are doing to get knocked up (charting, temping, etc). One of the acronyms is HIO (hump it out). I could never figure out what “PNV” was, so I somehow assumed it meant “penis in vagina.” I learned later it was prenatal vitamin but I somehow thoght it was another having sex phrase to be used in place of HIO. I laughed about it a lot later.

I think I'll check it out. Honestly, my hair is at the bottom of my priority list, clearly.
DH says I should just do the nice salon every few months because I'll still spend less per year than he does at his barber. I just can't being myself to do it.

@bjkay22 I had the same exact thought re: PNV on TTGP. I'm almost sure that during my first go-round on TB in 2013-2014, that PNV was definitely used as an acronym for penis in vagina/penis and ("n") vagina. You're not crazy. I also didn't think PNV made sense in that question because prenatals don't really help you *get* pregnant (that I know of)....

@suchaglencoco same! I haven't cut (or dyed) my hair since March. Though I'm not planning to dye my hair until after the baby is born (I'll just briefly be brunette with some awesome gray hairs yay). I also throw my hair in a bun pretty much every day, so length doesn't really matter. I don't mind going to a salon if they are highlighting my hair, but just to get a trim seems a waste of money.

I gotta think on my confessions. Mine seem dumb.

I used to only get my hair trimmed once or twice a year. But then I went to a pixie cut and now I have to actually keep it up, but I just go to great clips.

@silverhope, the ob said I was ok to dye my hair while pregnant and I just laughed. I don't remember the last time I dyed my hair. I gave up on it before we got pregnant with the twins. I have random grey hairs I pluck when I see, but that's it.
I'm lucky DH fell in love with me for my humor and kindness to him and not my beautiful hair. Hahaha.

@suchaglencoco Yea, my mom dyed her hair when pregnant with me and I know it's safe, but I am super paranoid. Although not paranoid enough to stop eating some soft cheeses and questionably runnier cooked eggs...I have no clue how I decide what is "risky." It makes no sense. Guess that is my confession ha.

My toddler vomited on the way to the babysitter's before my AS and had to come with me. I was supposed to have the afternoon to my self and instead I have a kid who has a sporadic cough to take care of. So fucking annoyed.

Ugh I just remembered I need to reschedule mine! I’ll probably schedule it for January. Nothing happens monetarily in January and it’s generally a boring month.

I guess my fffc is I don’t skimp I’m getting my hair done every three or so months. I’m ridiculously low maintenance 90% of the time, but if I don’t get my haircut and colored I feel like less of a person and my hair requires actual effort on my part to look decent. (I didn’t manage to do it last month and my hair has looked frumpy for a few weeks now. I hate it.) I can justify it by saying I don’t shave, wear perfume, or makeup, and I still wear clothes from like six years ago, so this one thing is my thing and I’m not letting it go.

I had a major tooth issue after my last pregnancy because I avoided the dentist, because he was a jackass. Then I had the major issue and found amazing dentist.

I'm dying! We call our dogs "naked doggies" when we take off their collars. I thought you meant you let them out without collars and I was like "why would you care if you're spotted? How big is the fine for no collar?"

@sandbar517 when I was about 34 weeks pregnant with DS, DH delivered a baby in the back of the ambulance from a very thin STM who swore she didn't know she was pregnant. I was like "You've done this before! How do you not know!?!"

@bjkay22 I hate sand, too. I like all the other things about the beach.

@cups4 Oh no!

IDK how all you ladies don't get your haircut! But I have really thick and difficult hair that is quickly graying and I am too vain to not do anything about it.

I have heard that having a good store of folic acid in your body before pregnancy increases your chances that a conception turns into a viable baby.

@mileswithmyles maybe it’s a thick hair thing? My hair is so thick and heavy that get headaches more frequently when it’s not been trimmed AND heavily layered. I was planning on going back to a faux hawk after the wedding, but I know I’m going to get to pudgey in my face to pull that off.

I haven’t had my hair cut or colored in years. I have honey blonde hair that responds super well to sun in. I just trim it myself. I’m actually pretty good at cutting hair and used to cut all of my friends hair in college and grad school so....
My FFFC is that I found out the sex of our baby at my 16 week appointment, without DH! My midwife said the ultrasound tech wasn’t busy if I wanted to pop over to her room. I didn’t actually think she’d be able to tell!!!! Anyway, it’s a boy clear as day. DH wasn’t upset at all that I found out without him, but I still felt super guilty!

I’m on board with the lack of haircuts and coloring. I actually was too paranoid to get my hair colored while I was pregnant and BFing my kid so I went over 2yrs without a color. I did get my hair cut once in that time.

Once I stopped BFing I started to get my hair colored again but now I’m back in the “I don’t think I want to” phase. I canceled one appointment already. I love my new hair dresser though so I just don’t want to lose her. Maybe I’ll have to at least have her give me a cut.

@sandbar517 I have a friend who supposedly didn't find out she was pregnant till 35weeks. She claimed that she just thought she was getting fat, I hadn't seen her in like 5 months so when she told me, I made her send me a picture, she was HUGE and obviously pregnant. I think it was denial since she didn't know who the dad was until after 3 DNA tests. She was only 19 or 20 at the time too so it could have been a bit of naivety as well but damn she was obviously pregnant!

Ugh the hair... I bleached it for the first time ever for my birthday last May. I did a touch up in July. Now I have 5 inches of light brown roots. 1. I am lazy. 2. I didn't wanna do anything till after the first trimester. & 3. Well I only cut my hair every 2 yrs or so

donate it to wigs for kids, great excuse to be lazy about getting hair cuts.

I don't think they will take mine anymore being bleached though.

Anyone else getting hairy? I haven't noticed my hair on my head growing quicker or getting thicker, or my belly getting fuzzier... But I noticed today that I have hair on my butt!!! LMAO never happened in my previous pregnancy. WTF is up with that?

@kendrajos lol! Can't say I have that! As for me and my hair on my head, about fifteen years ago my sister practiced doing highlights on my hair before doing it on her friend. And I've had two trims on my hair but just to get rid of a mullet. I guess I'm just lucky that my hair is growing back nicely after shaving and donating all of it! But I never really did a lot of hair maintenance before that either.

@charlestonchew I actually thought you meant like without a dog sweater! My MIL loves dressing up her dogs.

@sandbar517 a few years ago my DH had a coworker whose wife called one day at work and said to meet her and their new baby at the hospital. It was her fourth! To be fair, she suspected she was pregnant for most of it and went to the OBGYN several times and they kept telling her she wasn't. She at least was taking care of herself as if she was though just in case. But yeah...she delivered her own baby in her kitchen. And definitely had an earful for said OB!
