Re: TTTC Checkin (2 week catchup, Thanksgiving post)
For anyone that is interested a friend of mine told me about a series on YouTube called How To Buy A Baby and it was great to watch. It's about 10 episodes and it made me laugh and cry. The episodes are 10 minutes or less and I found myself saying multiple times yep that's me.
QOTW- I am hosting 26 people at our house

FINALLY diagnosed with anovulatory PCOS 11/2016 (Insulin resistance and multiple cysts on both ovaries)
Miscarriage on 7/19/17 at 7 weeks
Miscarriage on 10/16/17 at 5 weeks
Since January 2016 and I have a short cycle so more than 30 cycles now (lost count).
Nothing. So frustrating. We have done so much testing and our specialist cannot find anything wrong. So officially we are "unexplained infertility".
Next step is cycle monitoring, then IUI while we wait to start IVF. Dr. recommended straight to IVF for us (found out Monday) because my AMH is relatively low for my age. He also wants to re-test SA again. I think he is baffled by our seemingly perfect health
@Worldtravler0522 How to buy a baby is great - gotta love the CBC
@eranvo27 so sorry to hear about your father. Fx for a successful surgery.

Not much to report for me today.. CD3, started Letrozole again today. As usual - hoping this is our cycle
QOTW: I'm in Australia, so we don't have Thanksgiving. But my birthday's next week so I'm looking forward to that
TTC #1 since July 2016
Dx: PCOS, on Metformin since Feb 2017
@eranvo27 I’m glad your dad was finally able to get his surgery!
@kiwielopingbride welcome! I am also unexplained and it is frustrating.
@tops-2 happy early birthday!
AFM, I haven’t really updated in a while. We had it IVF consult with our RE at the end of October. We were toying with the idea of switching clinics, but ultimately decided to stick with who we already have for a few reasons, but the main one being we can get started sooner. We are hoping I can start stims in January, but are kind of at the mercy of my cycles. I can’t take birth control because of another medical problem I have, so when I get AF next I’ll go in for some testing and I’m hoping the cycle after that we can get stared.
QOTW: We always visit family for Thanksgiving. We are at my mom’s now, we came down last night, and we’ll stay here through the weekend. MH and I are from the same hometown so we will see his family on Thanksgiving day as well. I honestly am over driving all over the place stopping and seeing everyone, but I guess that’s how it works when you’re married
We are coming up on our 2 year TTC anniversary which is so shocking to me...never thought we’d be here
***TW***
Our first pregnancy was in August of 2016 which we lost at 7 weeks...we conceived immediately following that loss and had a missed miscarriage in November (a year ago this week, just before Thanksgiving) I was 12 weeks but the pregnancy stopped around 8 weeks. We conceived again this summer in June and only made it to about 6 weeks again. After this summer, we decided to take a break, which was a great decision for us emotionally!!!!! We’ve just started trying again.
We stopped seeing our RE after the missed miscarriage last year (long, angry story) so we are working with my OBGYN who handled that miscarriage (LOVE him) We don’t know why this is happening...all tests have been normal...so we just have to keep trying.
Anyway, thanks for letting me come back and ramble! I’m currently 11dpo following a round of Letrazole, tested my Progesterone on CD21 and it was good (16) but got a BFN this morning...hoping for a Thanksgiving miracle!
We will be in town for Thanksgiving, lots of time with family and friends!!!!!!!!!!!
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

@Worldtravler0522 wow that's so many people to host! My Thanksgiving will be around that size but NOT at my house! Hope that all goes smoothly for you! I saw another thread about buying a baby on one of the boards and watched the first 5 episodes. It's spot on! Love the episode where they run into someone who tries to give them obvious advice about getting pregnant, like cutting out GMOs... Like, oh thanks! I haven't tried all the easy stuff already, silly me jumping right to IVF! Can't wait to watch the rest. And I don't think it's bad to ask for Valium for the ERA - whatever helps!
@eranvo27 I'm sorry you have to deal with so many stressful and emotional situations at the same time! Hope things will calm down a little now that your dad has had his surgery.
@tops-2 yay for getting started! Hope this is your cycle too!
@Kim41313 we had a similar situation considering switching REs but also decided to stick with our current one, mostly because we're comfortable there and could get started with IVF sooner. Hope AF comes sooner than later and you can get started ASAP!
@BWhitta welcome back. Coming up on the 2 year anniversary of TTC must be tough. Fingers crossed that you get your Thanksgiving miracle!
AFM my transfer was yesterday. Everything went well, so now I'm just in the dreaded TWW! Maybe Thanksgiving will distract me? DH and I are spending a few days with my family. My mom knows about everything, but the rest of my extended family doesn't. I've been pretty private about everything, but now that I've started IVF I don't seem to care as much about people knowing. Just don't think Thanksgiving dinner is the time to start telling all these stories to 20 people, so I'll probably continue to keep it to myself for now.
Also waiting to hear today about the status of my other embies and whether we can freeze them... I wish they would call early but I'm sure I'll be waiting on pins and needles all day to hear!

@Worldtravler0522 thanks for the recommendation! I just watched the first few minutes of Ep 1, and I love it.
@eranvo27 FX for your dad's health! That's scary stuff. Here's hoping you get to relax this weekend.
AFM just getting myself good and worked up for the end of this TWW. The first week is nice and relaxing, and the second week is just full of dread as I jump at every little symptom. I'm trying to ignore it all as we leave town to celebrate our anniversary Thursday-Saturday.
For that matter, anybody else have trouble being "romantic"? Not sexy times--just feeling like you have to make an anniversary/birthday/etc this idyllic dreamboat of an experience? Our lives are kind of boring, and we enjoy sitting around watching Netflix and eating frozen pizza. So while I've got some special dinners, hikes, etc lined up for this weekend, I think I just need to chill if every single moment isn't perfectly romantic.
QOTW: We're having Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt's with lots of family (the side we like
Also, I'll be off the grid for the next 12 days--I'll be in Orlando for a work conference (aka my annual solo vacation). I'll be back in December. Hugs to you all for getting through the holidays!

I know it's still early, but definitely not feeling hopeful anymore.
Beta is scheduled for Monday first thing.
@eranvo27 - ugh. What a year you're having. Go away, 2017.
@kiwielopingbride - I'm unexplained too. It's frustrating, because you can get your hopes up. I mean, I know everyone can get their hopes up, even when they have a clear diagnosis and they're told: "this has a 10% chance of success for you". But when you're unexplained, mentally, it can be very taxing - because there's no clear reason why your success rate will be x or y, so you can start to think: "of course this one will take!" Ugh.
I'm sorry you find yourself here.
@tops-2 - I'm also hoping this is your cycle!
@Kim41313 - ooh, new year, new eggs! Excited for your IVF retrieval cycle to start!
@BWhitta - welcome back. Sorry for your struggles, sounds like you had a horrible summer.
@mac627 - congratulations on your transfer!!!
@soehlerk - For that matter, anybody else have trouble being "romantic"?
Yes, yes, yes. I mean, there is a certain "romance" (I guess) in having your husband hold you while you sob for the umpteenth time. But we're definitely not as, err, carefree as we were when we started dating. Lately, I'm like a zombie just walking through the house, numb. I'm sure my H looks at me sometimes and can't even remember what I was like before IF. Plus, the IF debt doesn't help. Really hard to justify going out for dinner or something when you have another bill at the clinic for $2000. We try - we went to a new burger joint the other night - but I put more pressure on those times, I think because of the financial stress.
AFM: I'm not doing so great today. I had a BFN on an HPT last night - 8dp5dt. So I'm not feeling that optimistic. Ugh. Before our FET I was a little better, but today I feel pretty numb. Beta is on Monday, a little late because we are going away this weekend.
QOTW: Finding it hard to be thankful for much right now. Gratitude seems like such a sophisticated emotion when it's a struggle to, you know, get in the shower.
But I love my husband very much, he's great. I'm thankful for the support of my sisters, and I'm very thankful for these boards. It would be very hard to face a BFN without this support!
@eranvo27 Keeping your dad in my thoughts
@BWhitta Welcome back! (I mean, sorry you find yourself back here...but nice to hear from you again)
@mac627 Keeping my FX for you!
@funkykey Sorry you are having such a tough time right now
AFM: Not much to report right now. Uterine mapping Monday...then we should be getting our Protocol. I was feeling pretty meh about the whole thing, but now that we are getting closer I'm starting to get excited about starting. @GoldenKeys Can you please update my rx to IVF?
QOTW: DH is up north at the hunting shack all week. I will be meeting him at his parents tomorrow to have thanksgiving with his side. Spending the night there, then I will stop in at my parent's house Friday on my way home. Then my parents and grandfather will be coming over to our house Saturday for dinner when DH will be back from rifle season. And then Sunday we drive to Madison.....we are spending the night at DH's sister's house as are next appointments are early Monday morning. So.....lots of driving for me this weekend....joy.

AFM I'm CD5 and started my Letrozole last night - we aren't doing monitoring this month, just medication, OPKs and timed intercourse. I hate being in the dark, but we couldn't really justify the expense of doing monitoring when we are trying hard to save for IVF. Telling myself that I need to not get as worked up and symptom spotting this cycle but we all know how that goes!
QOTW: If you're celebrating Thanksgiving, what are your plans? If not, what are you thankful for this week? We had dinner at my in-laws place with my sister in law and her husband and all our dogs! The four of them had a ton of fun playing with each other and we had some great food and played some games (Uno and Cards Against Humanity). It was a nice distraction and our little puppy was wiped out when we got home from playing all day with her cousins!
@hoffmanr7 good luck with the mapping Monday. Getting close!
@Worldtravler0522 I watched all of the episodes now! So spot on. I’m with you on going postal in the support group situation. Like come on!!
@thothscribe81 your dog is so cute!! I have a beagle mix. They look like they’d be friends ha. You’re doing the right thing making sure you’re saving up for IVF, and maybe you’ll get a BFP in the mean time!
@funkykey ugh sorry about the BFN. Hopefully it was too early and you get a different result at your beta Monday! And hope you enjoy your weekend away and it distracts you from all this a little.
@soehlerk good luck with the end of the TWW. That’s the worst! Enjoy your vacation.
AFM We found out we got 3 frozen blasts so we’re really thankful for that!! Beta is Thursday. Going crazy waiting to find out! I want to know and I don’t want to know. Ignorance is bliss right? Goes back to How to Buy a Baby- I only want to answer the phone if it’s positive haha.

Doctor will be calling me today sometime to discuss what we will do this cycle.
Doctor called, She wants me in today to do an u/s to make sure everything is calm in there. She said she will up my dosage and this time around I will take 3 pills at night 5 days in a row, instead of the 10 at once. She said this way it will help produce more follicles, since I only had one follicle this past cycle. I know you only need one but if I had 2 or more, could help me have a better chance of catching atleast one. Well that's my goal atleast.
We agreed to do IUI this time around and she is saying I will have to give myself the trigger shot at night this time because of when the IUI is scheduled.
I feel better than what I did yesterday when AF showed.
Tomorrow I will start Letrozole again.
& when I go in the office in an hour she will give me my schedule.
First u/s Monday.

@hoffmanr7 Excited for you having dates set! I am very much looking forward to getting this IVF process started so we can start planning a little more, having set dates will help my outlook so much! I hope you are able to get a little time off from work during that time!
AFM Nothing much new, going to start using OPK strips in a few days as I'm not sure where exactly my ovulation is at the moment. Finished my Letrozole dosage last night so no more meds for the time being. Luckily the holiday craziness will be fairly distracting this month so I'm hoping the lead up to O and then the TWW goes quickly this time around. According to both FF and Flo I should be testing on Christmas Day! How amazing of a Christmas Present would that be?
I start Letrozole tonight, 7.5mg for the next 5 days. I'll be testing right before Christmas too. According to FF my period should begin Christmas Eve, I am really hoping for a miracle Christmas Gift.
So last cycle I took 25mg of Letrozole at once, I was such a ragging Bi%&#. I asked on here and the doctor if that is normal. The doctor said since I took all 10 pills at once that my estrogen goes to 100 to 0 as quick as a snap. Makes since, so yes it's the Letrozole doing it to me.
Well, this time around she upped my dose 7.5mg for 5 days, I asked "since your upping my dosage will I be even more of a ragging Bi$%^ as last time?" For any ladies wondering.... She said since I'll be taking 3 pills a day for 5 days my estrogen should be lowering slowly instead of just doing the quick drop like last cycle, so she thinks it might be more tolerable this time around since it's not such a high dosage all at once. She also said only time will tell because it effects everyone differently.
Last night I took my first 7.5mg and this morning... I am a ragging Bi$%& ! I am seriously never like this, It's not as bad as last cycle but then again I only took 1 of 5 days.. I had no patience's for my son this morning (which I have all the patience in the world for him, he is beyond hyper. That's the normal for us, we never experience another child to know what the normal is. So I would say I have alot of patience.) Nope not this morning. Really bad road rage. I cried on the way to work, I cried because I was sad I didn't have patience this morning for my son. Scared he thinks I am a mean parent in all reality he is the world to me, love him so much I don't want him to think I am mean parent. My emotions are all over this morning.
Sorry for the rant...
But, since I already know I haven't tolerated the Letrozole better this cycle, what are some coping skills you ladies have done to try to control your emotions to help the love one's around you? I really hate that my 4yr old and my husband gets a front row seat to this show
@Knottie1467155066 I have only ever taken one Letrazole at a time for 5 days...taking 10 all at once sounds like a nightmare! I don’t have as many side effects as I did with clomid, BUT it does make me very grumpy and hormonal and exhausted. Just tell your husband and your son that you love them, they will understand! I hate that my husband has such a great understanding of what my hormones can do to me, but he does. Just be graceful with yourself, I’m sure guilt and anxiety over your behavior just makes it worse! Take a walk if you can, or just lock yourself in the bathroom for a couple minutes of silence and deep breaths

I will try that tonight.
So this might be a dumb question, can you drink wine with Letrozole. Normally if I don't any type of meds and I am having a rough day etc.. I will have a glass of wine to calm me and relax me, well I am not sure if I can do that with taking Letrozole.

AFM - I'm on CD11 today, first blood test of the cycle tomorrow. This is our 4th cycle of TI but our doctor suggested to keep going with this for at least another couple of cycles, seeing as it did work once. And we're happy with that too for now
I always wanted my first child by the time I was 25, but it was my 26th birthday yesterday so that was a bit of a downer
Also, not sure if anyone experiences the same thing, but I've been having a lot of trouble coming up with idea of what I want for Xmas whenever my hubby asks. I realised the reason why this week - I can't think of anything I want because there's only one thing I really, truly want (obviously - a baby).
Sorry for the depressing update..
