We've been arranging the house and the nursery for weeks now and I keep having a “better” idea of how things will fit/work with 2.0. I am constantly doing laundry and trying to keep the house clean and I am not usually domestically inclined.
This weekend I unpacked boxes from our move 2.5 years ago from the garage because I want the garage cleaned out before Baby gets here. The garage?!
Ladies I am totally with you. I have days of feeling perfectly calm and confident and other days of OMG why did we think this was a good idea? Often the latter are trigger by the "everything is going to change" comment. Why do people think that's a good thing to say? It's terrifying. I try to tell myself "no not everything. I'm still going to garden, love my spouse, go to the gym, be a hard worker..." I'll just have another person to share it all with.
@mdfarmchick - hahaha yes!! I forgot about nesting! I washed all of her clothes we've gotten so far.. I don't know why I just had to! Then color coordinated them and put them by size. Also, I didn't realize my house has so many spots I've never cleaned before. It's astonishing!
I LOVE being pregnant. My pregnancies have never been symptom free or easy, but regardless I’ve enjoyed them. TBH I think I like feeling like a badass warrior princess with my baby bump handling morning sickness and constant contractions like a pro. That being said, I 100% have days where I really truly wonder “omg what the hell did we do?” When I look at my daughter and realize that 1.) she’s not my only anymore and that makes me really sad, and 2.) I’m going to have TWO of these little girls running around. Sometimes I really feel like maybe I should have stayed a mom of one and maybe I jumped into another too quickly but I also know I love this baby and I’m SO EXCITED for P to have a little sister to grow up with.
I dont think not enjoying being miserable most of the time is something any of you ladies should feel guilty for. And I don’t think having doubts and fears about your future is uncommon or something you should feel guilty for either. Also, agreed that people need to shut up about how much things change like OMG I KNOW JUST STOP. Those comments just make things worse, not easier.
@chasingroygbiv The feet! It's so annoying! I have had to use foot lotion on my feet every night for weeks. Pregnancy sure can mess with your skin.
@HappyMonkey817 Panic attacks are horrible. I am medicated and still have them, but medicine is really helping. I hope you get some relief soon!
@crossfitbabybump That is exactly how I felt about my last (first) pregnancy! I was scared shitless of having this tiny little human depend on me for everything and we had no idea what we were doing. It was tiring, scary, and hard, but also so rewarding. And we made it! He's now 18 months and seems pretty normal for a toddler. We didn't screw him up too bad yet
I am so tired of the aches and pains. I just want to sleep and move normally again. And I am only 22 weeks!

I haven't had that "nesting" inclination at all...i keep waiting for it to happen. I've got SO MUCH TO DO before she shows up and yet zero motivation to do it.
doesnt help that I'm a retail manager... in my busy season and on my feet 8-10 hours a day plus my commute back and forth. when I do get a full day off...i just want to test and get off my feet for a minute
I'm having the weirdest sleeping patterns. Every night after I pick the kids up and get home from work I'm tired and if I sit in my favorite chair I can very easily doze off. Then after I put the kids to bed I go to bed but I normally wake up around 3-3:30 with a ton of energy with the nesting in full gear but I try to avoid going into my kids rooms to put away laundry at 3AM (even though they're both heavy sleepers ) then I get tired again around 5AM and want to sleep until 10AM but having to get up at 6:30 for work kind of puts a damper on that. I don't know why I'm waking up at 3 and this didn't happen until about a week and a half ago.
I'm also incredibly irritable. It doesn't go away and I find myself yelling/snapping at people more and more for things that really aren't bad. Last night I got super irritable with DH because he was up in our bedroom watching a movie, I went downstairs to get laundry and he followed me downstairs to spend time with me even while I was folding. Nice thing but I was annoyed while realizing that I shouldn't be annoyed. Don't know what to do about it.
Along the line of people talking about how your life will change-really annoying and needs to stop but people keep commenting on something slightly different because this is my third. Most of the comments are along the lines of "oh now the kids will outnumber the adults! What are you going to do with 3 of them? Wow that's going to be crazy" etc. Gee thanks for your unwanted input. I have enough anxiety around having a third one and your comments aren't helping. I don't deal well with change and the though of changing our little family and our routine (even though it's a good change!) is slightly terrifying. I keep trying to remind myself that I've done this before, twice, but since every situation and every child is different who knows how this will go. I'm feeling everyone on the anxiety!
@heatherdubrow When I was pregnant with my son, I had horrible carpal tunnel. The thing that helped me the most was wearing a night time brace while I slept. It is called a Futuro Night Wrist Sleep Support.

is anybody experiencing swelling... especially in their feet? i work long days and i stand and am walking around for anywhere from 6 to 10 hoes a day. They look like pillows by the end of the day... should i be worried? is it a sign of pre eclampsia? I'm freaking myself out
@heatherdubrow Not my fingers, but my toes! Happens every time the temperature changes a lot from cold OR hot for me, especially while pregnant. Not a cure all, but I have to wear special warm/heat socks in the Winter and constantly rub my toes to keep the blood flowing through. Even still they’re sore, but it helps some.
P.S. my toes actually LOOK sore too though, not sure if your fingers do, so it could be completely different!
The crazy dreams have started. So far, they have all involved terrible things happening when other people were watching my big kids, presumably I needed them to be watched bc I was having or was busy with the new baby.
@heatherdubrow target has them, most fitness stores will have them. Your OB might just prescribe you one if they have one on hand.
@bb3vj3n not in my toes, but in my hands! Usually only when I’m up walking around and if I’m not carrying something/pushing the stroller. Not sure what causes it but I don’t think it’s a cause for concern unless it starts happening really suddenly?
@mdfarmchick - I just organized and cleaned the garage this past weekend! The month before was the office. Then I began the basement as well which has barely had anything done since I moved in about 5.5 years ago. All the things must be organized before baby because then it’s about 2 years before I will get to anything again as from my prior two experiences.
@bb3vj3n In one of the weekly guides I read (was it The Bump email or What to Expect?), it just said this week that swelling especially in feet was normal now and, like @ShawnnaO said, not usually a cause for concern unless it is really rapid. There's so much added pressure and weight and blood flow that it makes sense. That said, given that you're distressed about it, it can't hurt to call your doctor just for reassurance!
Does anyone else get restless legs as soon as they start to fall asleep? Every night for weeks now, it's like right on cue to start and then I can't sleep! If so, is there anything I can do??
Very TMI, so be warned: I'm having hardcore vaginal irritation/sensitivity and itchiness. I really don't think it's a yeast infection--I say this because there is no smell, discharge looks normal, and because--and here is the weird part, it ONLY happens at night (???) and totally goes away during the day. Anyone else experiencing this only at night? Any non invasive remedies that don't involve Class X drugs or literally tearing off my vagina with my fingernails?
@vflux33 Um, I have the EXACT same thing with the itchiness. It only starts at the end of the day, like 7pm or later, and is gone in the morning. I theorized it might be from wearing tight-ish leggings or thick tights all day, so less 'breathability', or is somehow related to the witch hazel I've been using for hemorrhoids on the other end.
I've been putting coconut oil on, which seems to help it a bit. I've also slightly upped my probiotic consumption, but minimally, since I don't want to irritate the GI tract given other issues.
@gh515 Oh man I'm sorry you're having this too, but also glad I'm not the only one because it's driving me absolutely nuts and the night-only aspect is so weird. I can tell you it's probably not the witch hazel/hemorrhoids because I don't use that and don't have hemorrhoids. I'll try to track based on whether I'm wearing a skirt/loose pants or tight pants though, I hadn't thought of that.
I'll definitely try the coconut oil and probiotics--thanks!
@crossfitbabybump my legs start to twitch after I sit on the couch and put my feet up. As soon as I'm really relaxed my legs get restless. I have no idea if there's any science behind this, but I've found that foam rolling the backs of my legs really helps. The hard part is getting down on the floor to do it. Can't wait for third tri, lol!
@vflux33@gh515 maybe try changing underwear in the evening? The general increase in discharge/weird hormones might just be causing some extra irritation and maybe you just need to change more often? I usually change mine when things start to get weird during the day and it helps a lot!
@fatstagnation@crossfitbabybump oh ladies! so I tried foam rolling my calves the other day. my husband laughed so hard....i was unsuccessful. I couldn't even lift myself off the floor and start rolling. the evening ended with him using a rolling pin on the back of my calves. one of the funniest pregnancy moments I have experienced thus far - definetly will remain in my mental memory book. lol
@crossfitbabybump there is an old wives tale that some of my friends swear works—you put a bar of Ivory brand soap under your sheets at the foot of the bed. As for me, I just get MH to rub down both of my calves every night and then I can fall asleep.

Haha some days I kinda just sit there and wish it would happen on it's own. We have a low futon-like couch that I scoot down off of. Then I can lean on my elbows on the couch so I'm sorta sitting up and roll calves from there. It's not easy!
Because we all know I haven't been having a hard enough time (lol), my bad discs in my neck are acting up severely. I have no use of my left arm, and I'm in constant, severe pain. I need this baby out, like, yesterday.
Posterior pelvic pain I guess is what it's called but it's really bad pain in my left butt cheek! It makes me feel like an old lady when I walk and standing from a sitting position is awful. I'm only 23 weeks and apparently i can expect it to get worse the more weight I gain. Greeeeat. Anyone know of any helpful stretches or exercises?
chasingroygbiv - I cringed when I read about your tooth pain as I'm in the same boat! I randomly have toothaches which scare me bc the last thing I want is a root canal. I have a few fillings scheduled for next week, not exactly excited about it but anything to prevent more serious (and expensive) dental work.
I hope you're feeling better. tooth stuff is the worst.
@i-wanna-b-the-girl-w-most-cake Thanks! Sure enough, lower jaw is filled with infection. Have to see a specialist and go from there, but for now I’ve started antibiotics and am hoping it’ll alleviate some of this excruciating pain. I’ve lost 2 pounds from not eating normally! Terrible.
@sarahhedger7 I was having this early in pregnancy for some reason (and my midwife told me it would probably only get worse), but then it went away after two weeks or so. She recommended deep butt massage a la spouse or sitting on a lacrosse ball on that side and rolling around.
as for me, I've been getting this weird rib pain at night only! The only thing that helps is if I sleep with the arm on that side over my head.
@chasingroygbiv - oh no! I had a tooth infection earlier this year before I was pregnant so I sympathize with your pain. It took about 2 days before my antibiotics helped. I just wanted it out so I had it extracted. Good luck girl!
@sarahhedger7 I hope you feel better soon! I had this as well around the 13 week mark, and the doctor said the same thing - that it would get worse. However, this was around the same time that my DH and I were driving about 3 hrs every day. After we moved and our commute dropped to 5 minutes, it went away. I guess for me it was just the long times of being immoble in the car. If you are in a situation were you have to sit for long periods, it may be exacerbating the pain. I have to sit at work as well, so I try to find exuses to walk around every chance I get.

It’s causing some intense nausea, so I’m wondering if that’s not what the nausea was about earlier this week, too?
My anxiety is also starting up for labor/delivery, leaving my babies.. etc.
