  • I passed!
    Yay! Congrats!
  • @babybro218 I'm all about having an accountability buddy after the babies get here.  It's easy for me to say I'm going to kick it into high gear but once the sleepless nights & crazy schedule become reality that will be easier said than done.

@mamaof5already I'm going to give Zumba a go tomorrow and see how I do.  I was inactive for months b/c of that stupid SCH and I doubt the walking I've been doing over the last 6 weeks will come close to preparing me.  But I'm going to take it easy and modify when I can.  I figure any exercise is good for me at this point as long as my heart rate stays where it needs to.  Plus, I love my instructor and I know she'll help me a ton.  Congrats on passing your glucose test!!!

@soulcupcakeUgghhhhh, thyroid issues.  I've been on Synthroid with an additional T3/T4 supplement for years but still never feel quite 'right', despite what the labs say.  So I totally understand what you mean about weight loss being more of a struggle than normal.  I ended up doing pellet hormone therapy over the 2 years I was actively losing weight and it seemed to help things tremendously.  If we decide not to try for baby #2 I may go that route again.

+1 for thyroid issues (they suck). I’ve been on synthroid for almost 20 yrs now. My dad and I get competitive over synthroid doses. I dont Know if it’s cute Father/daughter bonding or sick and twisted.
  • @mamaof5already Yeah I didn't have the pee samples either, weird, but definitely lucky you

@fatted_calf Yay for going to Zumba. Everything tires me out and I even walk extra slow. I miss Zumba and want to slowly get back in after the kiddo comes out.

I may have overindulged a bit over the long weekend. Need to get my eating game in gear going forward.
  • @babybro218 This made me chuckle b/c I've done the same thing.  Like a 'my thyroid function is shittier than yours' badge of honor or something.  :D

My friend and I are both insulin resistant.  Sometimes we play who is more exhausted lol
  • I passed my one hour GD test!  The Monday after Thanksgiving!  I spent the holiday with my SO’s family and am giving credit to my first ever vegan Thanksgiving.  On the flip side, my iron is low.  Ironically, my 14 year old is anemic and has crazy periods.  She’s about to start going to my OB/GYN, we’re now both on iron supplements and an iron-rich diet.
  • Congrats @fatted_calf and @olitwinturbosnprincess I’m glad you both got good news today!
  • Yay for both of you ladies @fatted_calf and @olitwinturbosnprincess!!!

What does a Vegan Thanksgiving consist of??  I'm super curious.
  • Congrats @fatted_calf and @olitwinturbosnprincess! I just took my glucose test this morning, and hoping for good results. The drink wasn't too bad. It tasted like a very sweet orange Gatorade. The lab tech said I had three minutes to finish, and I chugged it in 30 seconds so I'd be done with it. I'm supposed to get results later this afternoon! Fingers crossed!

I'm curious about Vegan Thanksgiving. My favorite carrot cake was a vegan one from Whole Foods!

Yay @fatted_calf and @olitwinturbosnprincess! Great news.
@jennifer_m21 I has the orange too and found it to be delicious...almost wanted another!
  • @chucksmom15 @jennifer_m21 It was really good actually. There were two “meats”. One was a chicken loaf. I can’t say I would voluntarily eat something called a chicken loaf if it were real chicken. I honestly couldn’t tell you what it was. It was ok, but pretty bland. There was also a hamburger roll. Obviously named by someone who’d never eaten hamburger. It was some sort of pastry with a nut mixture that resembled browned burger but didn’t taste like burger at all. It was actually really good and I will probably ask for the recipe. It was savory and I would make it for my kids. I will also give it a new name. The rest were somewhat normal sides... mashed potatoes with gravy (with mushrooms), sweet potatoes with pecans baked with them, salad (obvs), some sort of stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc. There was apple pie that tasted just like regular apple pie. High praise for the vegan pie crust. It was really good. I also tried vegan cool whip. It’s made with coconut oil. It was excellent and pretty much guilt free. I may have a new go-to there. The pumpkin muffins were not my favorite and the chia seed pudding made with carob (chocolate substitute) will never pass my lips again!
  • @fatted_calf and @olitwinturbosnprincess yeah for great news for both of you!

I had an appointment and ultra sound today and baby is apparently 3lbs. 10 oz. And I am now measuring at 34 weeks.  And the Dr.  Did a double take when he came in because he said no way i was 30 weeks.  This is coming from the Dr.  I trust in my practice,  and not all the others that i am forced to rotate through.  At my last appointment the ultra sound was ordered (by a different Dr. ) due to no change in fundall measuring from the previous month and my "advanced age".

  • @mamaof5already so what is the game plan? Are they changing your due date?

No idea... Apparently my due date was changed to 1/31 and I was not informed until yesterday,  but that's only a 3 day difference. All my babies have been on the bigger side,  and when the Dr. Saw my husband (who's 6'5") and said its just going to be a big baby.
I'm slightly concerned because my ex was tiny and i still had 3 - 8.5+#ers and a 9lb. 10oz.er. heck even my 36 week preemie was over 6+. I'm just hoping he stays under 10#s.  If i can manage to see this dr. Again at 36 weeks he may send me for another ultra sound as he felt this one was pointless.

  • Good luck on the 3 hour @jennifer_m21 !
@mamaof5already You make big babies! And 6'5" is a very tall man lol, so I hope this one goes easy for you. Did you deliver the others early/on time?
  • How frustrating @mamaof5already I hope you get another ultrasound.
Good luck @jennifer_m21 !  I had an OB appointment yesterday (my 1st after the GD diagnosis) and the dr reminded that it is more common in women of AMA because our bodies don't process sugar as well as younger mamas (they just love reminding me that I'm old).  It did make me feel a little better that it wasn't something I did or ate.
  • Thanks, ladies! My level was 138, and the cutoff is 130. I talked to one of the nurses, and she thinks I should pass the 3-hour. I'm just bummed because it's a half day of work that I have to take off, and I am not a fan of blood tests.

@mamaof5already - wow, those are big babies! It'd be nice to have another ultrasound to see the baby again.

  • I got a 149 on the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour @jennifer_m21.  Good luck!!

@mamaof5already hope you get another US!
  • @babybro218 - my whole family does this. I used to be the outcast at 75s but I’ve caught up this pregnancy with 125s so we’re all even now. my sister is the only one who plays up the symptoms tho. Woo is me type stuff.

@mamaof5already I hope you get another ultrasound and baby's not too big-time and get same dr.
