STM+ Check In

Hey ladies! How’s it going this week?

Re: STM+ Check In

  • I basically made this thread this week to specifically ask stm+ if you’re more aware of your uterus this time around. I have a fullness that feels exactly like it did last time, that I can feel specifically if I have an empty bladder and I’m laying on my side. Weird? Haha. Is it normal?

  • I am! I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and I swear I feel it right at my pubic bone. I hoooope I have a little Christmas bump.
I'm definitely more aware of things going on down there than I was with my first.
  • Two feverish, snotty 14m olds over here  :'(:'(

I haven't been paying too much attention but I felt like I had a vague awareness of my uterus last time too so I'm sure I'd notice if I stopped and thought about it.

  • My six year old is going through a rebellious faze and I am not a fan. I want my sweet boy back. I don't know this naughty one and I really don't care for this version of my son. He can be kind of cruel and I don't get where he is learning this behavior, except him saying he doesn't care... that I learned this morning is coming from girls at school... I know we just need to be persistent on proper behavior, but it is truly hard when you have a son who has both your stubbornness and your husband's stubbornness which is worse than your own...

  • I’m tired.

To answer your question.... I don’t think so. I haven’t purposely been paying close attention, though.

  • I don’t think I’m more aware of my uterus this time around yet, but I'm still pretty early on (just 5 weeks today), so maybe I will in the coming weeks?

I didn't answer your question, I get what you are saying. I get crampy when my bladder is full. As soon as I pee the cramps go away. That is a first for me and this is my fourth pregnancy. It's truly amazing how true it is when they say each pregnancy is so different even for the same woman.

  • My fullness goes away after BM lol only thing is i feel more nauseous this time around. I didn’t get MS with my son.
Glad my parents are visiting so DS can play with them and give exhusted mommy a break.
  • Tired. Just took DAD to gymnastics this morning and DS is napping now. I'm laying on the couch while DD plays Endless Reader on the tablet. We don't do the tablet very often but when we do, I love these Endless games. Even my 21 month old does really well with it.

At some point I have to muster the energy to clean up around here to prepare for this weekend. We aren't doing Thanksgiving dinner until Saturday, but my house is a disaster.

We decluttered last summer but it still feels like there is crap everywhere. I may have to do another round soon.

My 3yo just summoned me to play Mommy and baby with get Teddy bears. Gotta run

  • I am working a 4.5 hour day compared to my normal 8. My mom is watching DS since he is sick this week. And I am so tired. I have done close to no work today. I can't even fathom going home and taking care of him right now. I feel horrible for it, but... I can't help it. So I might ask my mom to stay another hour so I can take a nap.

  • I feel less aware. Last time I instantly felt like “I’m having a baby!” And felt changes right away. This time I keep having to remind myself even with the throwing up multiple times a day. It’s taking me by surprise as we’ve been trying for this for what feels like forever.
  • My MIL has DS until Sunday so parttty!!!
But actually I’m mostly just laying around hating how sick I am. My mom advised me to pick one room a day to clean. .... it hasn’t happened yet.
And I don’t have any feeling in my uterus.
  • Everyone who is saying they’re tired (literally everyone haha) RIGHT. THERE. WITH. YOU. I napped while DS napped today, for the first time in a long time, and he woke up before me. Ugh. I feel like he’s been extra rambunctious lately! Constantly jumping on me. I absolutely put despicable me and monsters inc on today to keep him occupied for a couple minutes (he doesn’t really watch it).
  • There have been a few points so far that I actually wish DS would watch something (1 yr and just not interested) so that I could have a little bit of time to just relax.

@djh513 have you tried Little Baby Bum videos on YouTube? They are a lifesaver when I need ten minutes, my 14m olds love them.

  • @comealongponds @djh513 Little baby bum is still our jam some days. It's on Netflix now too!

DH has been on DS duty while I've been cooking today. Which is great and all, but they're both running around the house screaming like animals and I could kill someone.
  • I am not nearly as tired yet as I was last time. I am tired, but not like before. I just generally feel worn out from chasing my 2 yo. I know that will get so much harder as I get further along
  • I feel all these weird pulling and pinching sensations in my uterus area.  It was actually my first clue I was pregnant and it hasn't totally gone away.  So weird.  Did NOT happen the first time around.  There's no way my uterus is growing yet at 4w+3.

And another world's okayest mom here, letting the 2-yr-old watch way too much TV  :|

  • I feel a really firm ball, which I'm sure is bloat or whatever because there's no way yet. @squeezebean I'm with you. Between random colds and flus the last month and first trimester my kiddo has logged more Netflix hours this month than she has all year.
  • I feel overall BLOAT, but have not had any specific uterine awareness.

The fatigue is real and is not helping my patience. I need to be more creative with indoor activities for the boys now that it's so cold out... otherwise they will soon destroy the house (or each other).
  • Yup, super exhausted but not sure if it's from pregnancy or chasing after a 1 year old. The Wiggles have saved me many times lately when I just needed a moment (or an hour...) to sit down. That show is like crack to my baby. Kept him out past his bedtime tonight for a party and now he won't settle because he's overtired. Currently rocking/nursing him for the third time. Pleaseeeee sleep in tomorrow child.
  • Also re uterus, I actually feel less this time. Last time I had a lot of cramps, this time not so much. I have had what felt like kicks but I guess they're just phantom kicks since it's way too early to actually feel that yet. Or maybe that's my uterus moving/stretching? Hmm
  • Ugh, I’m so tired. My DD is being awesome and letting me relax a bit, but we are really into the tv right now. Heartburn has started up so early this pregnancy!
  • @zande2016 I feel phantom kick/twitchy things from time to time. I think it's things growing/stretching

Ok, I do feel this, so if it is uterus related then I change my answer to yes. LOL

  • I feel way more this time then I did last time. I’m only 4wks 4days and I feel stretching and pulling and fullness. It’s super odd and was kind of freaking me out. I’m glad to know I’m not alone in this weird early on feeling. Also I have a lot more nausea this time then last time. With DD I was hardly ever sick but I wasn’t working full time or chasing after an almost two year during my first trimester so that could be why I feel sicker this time.
  • Hey! STM here. Feeling super tired this time around - overall feeling a little better than I did in my last pregnancy though- maybe it’s because I just don’t notice as much. My son is 18 months old.
  • Anyone else feel huge already?  I know you show faster with subsequent pregnancies, but this is ridiculous.  I look more like 17 weeks than 7.

  • I haven't really started gaining or bloating yet. A little bloat maybe, but nothing more than usual. I have our first set of family photos being shot on Dec 2nd so I just need to keep it together until then, lol
  • My kids are 4 and 7, so no naps im this house. DH just left for hunting, so I'm riding solo. Still pretty tired, some cramping, terrible taste in my mouth 24/7, and my bubbs are still KILLING me. No heavy uterus, but a nice blump by the end of the day. A lot of the nausea has gone away, thankfully.

My kids do not know yet. Did y'all tell yours? We told them last time and then I m/c @ 10.5 weeks. My son still asks why the baby got sick in my belly. So I'm avoiding this as long as possible. I'll be 9 weeks on Monday.

  • @WorkinWeezel your children are older than mine, so it's a bit different since they observe more. If you aren't having super obvious symptoms (like MS that is worrisome to a kid who wouldn't know better), I would personally wait until 2nd tri or until I could no longer hide the bump. That gives them some adjustment time and helps you get through the first tri. So sorry for your prior loss :(

My mom was just telling me yesterday how when she was pregnant with my brother (her third, due in July) and my aunt was pregnant with my cousin (her first, due in May) that by Christmas she looked 6 months pregnant and my aunt was still not showing at all.

I was definitely not not showing at Christmas last time (due in June).
  • @coco2787 yeah I’m only 6+1 and I feel huge. Regular pants are getting tight and I’ve gained about 4-5 lbs. I weirdly didn’t gain much weight in my first pregnancy (only about 11lbs) due to bad MS, food aversions and thyroid issues. I think this time will be a different story!
  • I’m feeling tired and a bit bloated lately. A lot harder chasing a toddler around and being pregnant haha - but overall I think I’m feeling better than I did in my last pregnancy right now. Except for breaking out. I’m breaking out like crazy!
  • I’m sooooooo tired. And short tempered with my 3 year old. I am the worlds okayest mom right now.
This is so me right now! Super impatient and just exhausted all the time.

@WorkinWeezel We did tell our 5 year old and close family. If something happens I have no idea how I will explain it to him, but it will be a rough life lesson I’m sure.

Also, I am super bloated and regular pants are already starting to get uncomfortable (super fun) even though the scale hasn’t really moved.

  • The food aversions and nasuea have hit me full force this week. It’s BAD. I don’t remember it being this bad.

No bloat or weight gain yet. I’m still 8 lbs under pre pregnancy (first) weight and still in my “skinny” jeans. I didn’t gain any weight until second tri last time, so we will see how it goes with it being my second.
