So I woke up this morning, started getting ready for my appointment, went to use the bathroom before leaving the house and realized mid-stream that I had to pee in cup in 20 minutes... oops! I was chugging water the whole way there and still had a hard time giving a sample. Oh well. Other than that, everything went just fine! Heart beat was perfect at 150bpm and was able to schedule the A/S for 12/1.
I have mine at 12:20 today. I hope it isn’t anything like my eye appt. I have been here for 1.5 hours. What a joke. I planned an early lunch at 11 since my appt was at 9 and it is 10:35 and I am still here. Grrrrr.
Just finished the A/S everything looks great. Baby is measuring a little big but could be expected since I'm probably going to have GD Heart rate is 157......and we found out the sex but I'll share that in the boy/girl thread.
ekendall09 I'm sorry this totally not appointment related, but I think its crazy you have to catch a train to an appointment I'm from the midwest, not jumping in your car and driving somewhere is so foreign to me.
Today's A/S went pretty well. Baby is nice and healthy and moving a lot. We got a new tech (but didn't find out until after appointment). She kept having to re-do scans, which made it seem like something was wrong with baby's heart and/or he had a clef pallet. After sitting through a 1.5 hr scan we saw our OB and she confirmed everything is looking great (huge relief). We told her the tech had us freaked out and then we found out she is new.
Our youngest daughter is missing a hand and that was discovered at U/S. I cried today when I saw our LO has two hands and two feet! Super excited that we have a healthy baby!!
Sorry yesterday was a long day! I just got a bit of a trim and added layers (no change essentially ), but I'll see if I can get a selfie later on this evening. Yesterday at my OB appointment baby was great. Her heartbeat was 148bpm and my uterus is measuring right on track lol.
So happy to be back with my doc! 1.) she’s incredibly frustrated that the clinic (same network, bigger city) in the other town didn’t draw progesterone when I had spotting at 12 w because I had low progesterone with ds and two miscarriages in the past. 2.) they never ordered a first tri ultrasound. Evidently her practice it’s standard but the other clinic didn’t. 3.) she offered to bump my anatomy scan to yesterday. I declined because dh wasn’t there and he took the day off for it. 4.) she’s going to watch my bp closely. I was 128/78 which is way high for me. The highest I ever registered in previous pregnancies was 108/50. It puts my mind at ease to know I’m back with someone I trust!!
our A/S went well, was done in bout 30 min due to a cooperative baby and nothing of concern (per preliminary assessment and OB peek at the results). No one spoiled the sex for us and HR was steady around 139.
@itsrandiyo I usually only take a train to and from work. I was leaving work early to get back towards home before my appt! I have taken the train to within a mile or so of my appts but usually SO picks me up from the station if I do that.
Long post - my apologies! AS took right at 90 min to check out both babies. ILs were there too. Awesome tech brought in an extra chair and didn’t make them take turns. Tech asked if genetic testing showed anything which freaked me out; I said no and asked if she saw something concerning. She said I couldn’t tell you if I did, but I didn’t. My heart did start beating again lol. After about 3 minutes I couldn’t breathe and tech got me a cold cloth for my forehead (I guess I looked like I was going to pass out). Baby A (lower in uterus) was busy but cooperative, and is a GIRL!!! Baby B was constantly moving and not at all cooperative. Tech even said ‘I’m getting frustrated with your little man.’ Lol - can’t wait for Mr Hell-on-wheels to drive us crazy! He finally settled in for a solid minute and she got everything she needed. Girl had foot on boy’s head at one point, and at the end all 4 feet were right by each other. Boy has anterior placenta. Both measured ahead a few days, boy is a little bigger. Both were estimated at over 11 oz. So happy
Baby girl is still a girl, AS looked good and "normal" so unless I have Gestational Diabetes again, i wont need any further ultrasounds. She was measuring in at 13ounces. I kind of freaked out because The Bump says normal is about 8.5 ounces at this point. Dr said she is about the 58th percentile, which isnt as bad as i was expecting it to be and he said its a little bigger then average, but its fine, so we'll see.
I had my 20 week appt on Friday. baby healthy but found out i have placenta previa (total). no sex, no exercise, no fun. and a high chance of mandatory c-section. feel pretty down about it
@mmmmkay I have placenta previa also. Mines marginal though. The no sex thing sucks! I know with marginal it has a chance of moving. Is there a chance with a complete?
There's a chance but less if complete. I'll have another ultrasound in 8 weeks to check. not sure what happens if it doesn't move. Haven't had a real convo with my OB yet, just the quick chat with Ultrasound doc. Will ask all the questions then. in the meantime will be sad and sedentary and fat and celibate.
