Re: Weekly Randoms 11/13

  • @syssa-o How scary!!!!!!!! How are you handling the trauma feeling right now?

In the fight, flight or freeze, I'm usually a freeze. So impressed with your protection instincts, Mama!

    @syssa-o where did this happen?

eta - super scary - sorry you had too experience this
  • @syssa-o oh he sounds so sweet! I’m sorry you had to go through that, it sounds terrifying.
  • @syssa-o omg that’s terrifying! I always lock the doors when my H gets out because I’m terrified of something like that happening. I’m glad you guys are ok!
  • @bb3vj3n it was at the Stevenson x King Tim Hortons. Not sure if you guys go to the Santa parade but it’s tonight so if you are, be cautious of where you park!

    thanks guys

@syssa-o So glad you guys are all ok!! That is one of my biggest fears, and my SO always asks why I lock the doors.

ETA Santa Claus parade in the pouring freezing rain...fun. But my boys had fun, and me and oldest are snuggling watching Home Alone 2!

@syssa-o no parade for us yet... this is our first baby so as of now - no reason to NEED go out in the rain. I hope you guys had a great time though.

Thats like 5 mins from my house though.. super scary
  • @kelsajo I'm glad you found a daycare that will work for you! That does seem outrageous you have to pay a week every month, but now that I think about it, we had to pay the first month's tuition to hold our spot, so I guess it's similar! The childcare situation in this country is crazy!
For sure. The deal is though, I am guaranteed a spot, and I don't have to worry about finding someone when it's time to go back to work. She has a huge list of other people wanting to use her. Infant care is expensive and not everyone is qualified or even wants them. I'm so thankful to have this option!

On another, separate note. Anterior placenta's really are dumb. I just want to feel my little girl move better than I can.
  • @syssa-o that is so scary! Great reactions by you and your DS—I love the ninja turtle thing.
  • I have had a total sh*t day. I feel like I got crap from everyone. The dog got all creative and knocked DD's leftover lunch off the table and ate it. DD has been having major temper tantrums and I've about had it with those. And icing on the cake was DH (using the D loosely) wouldn't effing fold the last load of laundry, which caused a fight. I just can't anymore today. I have had congestion all week, haven't been sleeping well, and none of this helps.

I just want a do over.
I love my dogs, but life with small people would be so much easier without them.  Mine are always stealing food, and it's a struggle.

@amylonghorn here's hoping this whole Thanksgiving week goes better....

DH is upstairs working out and it sound super intense. While I generally hate this whole modified bed rest thing, right now it's not so bad....

  • Very random, and not significant compared to real discussions on here, but I just tried the Sparkling Chardonnay Grape Juice from Trader Joe's, and while it is not remotely like wine, it is pretty tasty... and a huge upgrade from Welch's grape juice... if you want some bubbly this holiday.
Old article, but product is same-

  • @amylonghorn I hope your day is better. I hear ya on the shifty day.

Today my SO is really making me dislike him. He is SO negative about everything. He also overanalyses everything, and the outcome is always against him. Whenever he calls his dad it's just complaint after complaint. And his dad just feeds into it. I'm starting to get really angry. There's so much more...this is just the basics. But it has actually caused high anxiety in me, where I never really suffered anxiety before the last 2 years.
  • @kalawa today was WAY better than yesterday. I am sorry your SO is making you angry. I have thought about asking if we should start a "Why my SO sucks" thread bc lately I'd have more to post there than the "Why my SO is awesome" thread. Thanks, hormones.
  • Fuck me. Legitimately on my way out the door to my dr appt this morning and my son stops in the doorway, looks at me and vomits all over the floor. Urgggghhh. Time for a change of plans lol
  • @syssa-o Noooooo. This time of year is the pits for sickness! Hope he feels better soon and everyone else stays well!
  • My belly button is so itchy! Driving me crazy!
  • @shawnnaO has your bellybutton popped?  Mine popped early this time and is now an outtie (happened with both of my previous pregnancies) and it's super sensitive so it keeps rubbing against my clothing and it's driving me nuts!  DH also likes to poke at it because he knows it bothers me I've taken to wearing a Band-Aid over top of it :D
  • @LaurenAnn0405 no it hasn’t! It never popped in my last pregnancy but I also never experienced this much itchiness either!
