Sort of a symptom I guess? I never weigh myself at home and so all my weigh ins happen at the doctors. Today’s was six weeks since the last one and I have gained like 16 lbs since then already, 20 total since getting pregnant, and my OBs rec is 25-30 for the whole pregnancy! Maybe I’m not remembering my last pregnancy well but I thought the biggest weight gain happened in the third tri and if that’s the case I’m going to gain WAY over the threshold. Which I did a bit last time too, but I’m just a bit concerned how quick this weight is happening. Unless it’s totally normal and I’m just worrying for nothing. I see my OB tomorrow so I’m sure she’ll say something but now I’m wondering if I’m going to get lectured ugh. I don’t usually worry about weight too much but I also don’t usually get surprised by a weigh in.
I gained a lot at my visit 3 weeks ago, so 25 weeks? and my ob said it was normal to have a burst of weight gain in 2nd trimester because you are feeling better and eating more. she said it is more concerning to have a large weight gain later in the pregnancy. And at my last visit this week, i only gained 2+ lbs.
@winnie1122 This is my first pregnancy so I don't have anything to compare it to, but at about 20 weeks I had suddenly gained about 10 pounds in just a few weeks. I was similarly scared that the trend would continue and I would be a marshmallow by the end of this, but at my 24 week visit I had only gained about another pound since then, so I would try not to worry too much.
Probably TMI, but backne, sadly DH gave me permission to use his bath brush, may put some tea tree oil on that and give that a shot. Oh and stretch marks started about three weeks ago, using cocoa butter which is probably a wives' tale but makes me feel like I'm doing something about it. Feeling sooooo attractive at the moment, lol...I'm starting the third tri just now btw.
@winnie1122 I had only gained 7 by 20 weeks and the nurse practitioner mentioned it was low. I assured her I "pop" right after 20 weeks, and sure enough I am now 26w, 3d and have gained 17 pounds total.
I think it's totally normal to have a big weight gain 2nd trimester. I gain about a pound a week in 3rd trimester up until 38 weeks, so I should be right about 29 pounds for weight gain.
I think the typical recommendation is 25-35lbs at my doctor, so I don't think you'll get a lecture
@winnie1122 I also had the same experience. Had a 16 pound gain between 20-24 weeks. No one at my doctors office even mentioned it, so when I asked they just said not to worry. Like you, I only weigh at the doctor so who knows where I’m at now.
Y'all I am so tired. It takes me so long to fall asleep and I wake up probably a dozen times, no exaggeration. If I have to get up to go pee it takes forever to fall asleep again. I'm struggling over here. DD has been sleeping really well (knock on wood) but she's also dropped her morning nap this week which I really relied on to get me through the day.
I’m still feeling pretty good, I have to say. A little bit of acid reflux here and there though. The RLP has been more frequent this week so I think there’s been a whole lot of stretching and growing going on in there! Getting up in to my Jeep Wrangler is definitely getting a little harder by the end of day. Enjoying feeling good while it lasts!
I drive a jeep wrangler too!
I love it! We have to get a safer car for baby but thankfully my jeep is paid off so we’re keeping it!
@SarahFoley725 I fell asleep yesterday after breakfast and when I woke up my 3yr old turned the tv off put a blanket on me, turned the light off and closed my door. He went into his play room and colored and watched cartoons. We have baby gates so he can’t go anywhere but I have never been so proud of lol is there anyway you can contain her in a safe place while you nap? I use to put DS in his crib with toys for quiet time.
Phew, thanks for the reassurance ladies! Even though I feel like I was JUST pregnant with DS I’ve basically forgotten everything apparently.
@SarahFoley725 I feel you, morning nap got dropped over here this week too. DS has also been waking up in the motn all of the sudden too, but I think it’s teething. So tired.

+1 for nausea returning. What is that about? I've been gagging and dry-heaving this week and DH sat down to eat a late dinner next to me last night and I had to leave the room. Hopefully this is temporary.
So no numb legs, but my hands get kinda numb/swollen over night. I have to flex and wiggle my fingers to get the blood flowing. I've had it before pregnancy occasionally, so maybe I'm cutting off circulation or something when I sleep on my arm... but should I be alarmed that its more frequent...

I have woken up a couple of times to my hand being completely numb. I asked my OB and he said it's totally normal. The swelling and increased blood flow can press on the nerves in your wrist/ hand causing it.

Our jeep is our family car
I would love to have ours be it as well but we have a 2 door and would lose my mind trying to get a car seat Inand out of that lol.
@winnie1122 I'm up about 20 pounds too, and I think it's on track for this stage.
I'm having heartburn and indigestion, insomnia for around 2 hours in the middle of each night, and the ever so fun "cheeseburger crotch." I feel the uncomfortableness of the third trimester slowly creeping in.
I had a weird thing happen at yoga class yesterday too. At the end of the class during corpse pose (basically laying down and relaxing completely for a few minutes) I started to feel really lightheaded and broke into a sweat. I was leaning against a bolster and so wasn't laying flat on my back, but I still had to slowly sit up and spend the rest of the time sitting cross-legged. Everything went back to normal after that and I'm pretty sure the position was somehow compressing the vena cava, which is interesting because I frequently wake up flat on my back and have no issues with it.
Funny how the positions where I was actually moving were fine, but laying down caused issues. Next time I'll just lay on my side.

I wish, but she's totally not personalitied that way. A few months ago I'd just lay her in bed with me and give her my phone while I napped but now she touches my face to wake me up if I doze off. I'm jealous of your sweet boy, but DD is also only 20 months!
@winnie1122 I'm sorry about your MOTN wake ups! DD did that all last week. The last two months have been so hit or miss on her sleep.
@clc515 Mostly it's work. I so don't want to be here right now. I want to be home helping my husband get ready for the baby not slaving here for people who are pissed off that I'm not going to just drop the kid and come back to work so they don't have to hire anyone to cover for me.

What are y'all doing for your swollen lady parts? I ice like all day and I use witch hazel and baths. Also I wear a brace. Many other suggestions?
***Stuck in quote box***
I do everything you're doing and have found that staying off my feet more helps also. The more I walk, the more swollen everything becomes. I have also found relief by putting pressure and pushing up on my vagina (when I have clothes on), it instantly feels better and stays feeling better for a bit.

I weighed myself at home after my most recent appointment. I was surprised by the number on the scale at the doctor's office. I wore leather boots, jeans, a tank, bra/underwear, and a chunky knit sweater (also had a necklace, watch, earrings, bracelets on). I weighed 6 lbs less at home once I took all that off and weighed myself with nothing else on. Keep that in mind when you weigh. Next time I'm wearing leggings and a tunic tee, no jewelry and I'll be taking the boots off :P I'll be singing "watch me strip, watch me yeah, yeah. Watch me strip, strip, watch me yeah yeah." haha **my doctor's scale is right in front of the nurse station where anyone walks by, typically you put your coat/purse on a chair and step on quickly... not for this woman every lb counts!**

Same. I minus about 5-7 pounds from my weight at the doctor's office, knowing I'm fully clothed and I've eaten breakfast. I didn't want to know the number on their scale in the beginning, so I don't know what they think I started at, but I know based on my scale at home. I've just been too afraid to double check since...

Yes, me too! Besides bossman being in a sour mood for like 2 months. In a better mood he laughed and goes, wait you're taking how much time off? (First time joke was I was only gonna take 2-3 days.) Difference is he also, when in a particularly bad mood, was like, "do i have to get someone else in here and find another director?" I get I'm not as fast as usual (I'm normally pretty sharp but preggo brain is real) but damn bro. Its really testing my desire to stay here.
New symptom as i head into the 3rd trimester- Dizziness. The other day at lunch I was sitting in my seat, feeling fine, when i suddenly felt the room spinning. It has happened a few times since then. Trying to make sure i stay hydrated and take it slow! The last thing my coworkers need is a fainting pregnant lady in the lunch room-- timberrrr
A week ago milk was making my stomach hurt (even in cereal) and the past two days I can't seem to drink enough.
Braxton hicks are starting to misshapen my belly, now... Not looking forward to when they get strong enough to tighten into a box shape I feel like they've gotten worse each pregnancy, too.
Lately it doesn’t matter how tired I am or how much exercise/stretching I’ve done, the second I get in bed at night my legs get so antsy. I end up doing squats and various stretches next to the bed almost every night. I had this during the first trimester but it’s come back with a vengeance!
I had the charley horse in my calf from hell this morning. I had to wake up DH to help me get my toes flexed up towards my nose. It seemed like it took for-ever to to finally relax. Thank goodness he doesn’t mind helping me!

You may have restless leg syndrome! I had it in the third tri with DD! I literally stayed up until like 4am every night until I was so exhausted I passed out. I wasn't working at the time thankfully. I hope you find some relief. Try a hot bath with Epsom salt before bed time!
