  • @funkykey ya that was my plan. I was thinking of starting to test with the cheapie's on Friday which would be exactly a week from trigger and then like every other day after that. I really hope it's like out of my system by Monday so that way the following Thursday would be real results and not false results.
  • Update on you @hoffmanr7 ? How have you been?
  • @Bababatty yesss girl! So happy for you! FX for good numbers tomorrow!

@funkykey so glad the transfer went well!! FX for you!! When is your beta?

  • @Knottie1467155066 Not much going on since our consult. DH and I just got a bunch of labs done today (venereal screens for both, plus prolactin, tsh, ABO/Th, Rubella, and Varicella for me).  Poor DH had a hard draw.....apparently he has crappy veins.

Just waiting for my next period to start the BC and then our next appointment on the 27th.

I did have my first IVF dream last night.....it had something to do with trying to get all my meds straight or something like that. I woke up thinking my brain was obviously already spinning with too much info...............

................so I made an IVF binder today. It's got everything divided into nice organized sections. I even put a journal section where I can jot down thoughts, etc. It's a thing of beauty for my Type A soul. :)

@funkykey glad the FET went well! So exciting! Keeping my fx for you.

AFM I’m triggering tonight! ER will be on Thursday morning. Right now I have around 10 potential follies - 7 are measuring 16 and higher. I’m really excited about the ER but I’m also really nervous. Wish me luck!

@MicahDahn - welcome :) I hope your stay is short and sweet.

@funkykey - NOTHING crazy about talking to it at all :)

AFM I'm on CD26 (9dpo). I have such a strong feeling that we'll get a positive this cycle that I was too impatient and tested yesterday haha. Obviously it was a BFN because it was way too early. I'm going to test again tomorrow morning (10dpo) and hopefully get the result I want. If not I'll just keep testing every 2 days.
I'll be beyond devastated if it's a negative this cycle :( With 2 big fat eggs and the amount of times we BD'd (I felt bruised haha) I feel like we can't go wrong!

  • I'll be testing on thanksgiving too.
  • Thank you, all!  I was really getting to the point where it was hard to believe a BFP could ever happen.  Waiting on a call with the results from my second beta now.

@hoffmanr7 That is a level of organization I aspire to but will never achieve.  I'm so impressed with your IVF binder.  Only 1.5 more weeks until your next appointment--I hope the prep time flies by.

@mac627 How did your trigger go? I thought I was going to have a panic attack because the idea of DH giving me an IM injection stressed me out a lot.  Good luck tomorrow!  Sounds like you've got a great number of mature follies!

@tops-2 How's the cucumber smell?  Good luck!!

@thothscribe81 It's so annoying that pregnancy symptoms and AF symptoms are the same.  Sorry your body is playing mindgames with you.  FX that it's happy pangs!

@funkykey How are you feeling today??  I am a firm believer in talking to the embie and giving it encouraging words.  We even wrote a welcome note on our white board, lol.  So keep it up. :)

  • @hoffmanr7 an IVF binder is such a good idea! I thought about making one too, but having to hole punch all my papers threw me off lol. I do have a folder and I just keep everything in order of dates. If I end up having to do future rounds, I think I’ll jump on your binder bandwagon though! I can just steal a binder and hole puncher from my school!

@tops-2 I hope this is your cycle! Two big follies and lots of BDing sounds like a recipe for a BFP. I can’t test at all because even if I get a BFN I’m like - well maybe it was too early... and it never ends ha. For me it’s just better to wait for my beta because otherwise I drive myself crazy! Let us know how your testing goes

@thothscribe81 you hit the nail on the head with your description of feeling positive/hopeful and sad. I feel the exact same way every month. I try to be optimistic but also realistic. It’s a delicate balance right? I hope so hard that each cycle is the one, but there’s that nagging feeling of this hasn’t worked out so far, that’s just the way things are going, why would it work out now? On my second IUI I felt positive that I was KU, and it just made me even more disappointed when it didn’t happen. So I know what you mean. I hope it happens for you this cycle!! And if not, before February. I don’t think that’s so much to ask!

@MicahDahn couldn’t hurt to start doing some research on clinics for reproductive medicine/infertility around you. I went through my ob for a while but wish I had gone to an RE sooner. They just know so much more and are so much better at testing, diagnosing, and treating. It’s all they do! I just find that the more research I do the better questions I can ask. I kind of blindly went along with my ob for a while but when I finally went to an RE they did so much more for me so much more quickly and all but rolled their eyes at my ob’s plan! Just food for thought.

@Bababatty did you get the beta results yet?

The trigger was fine last night. I did a dual trigger but they were both subcutaneous. SUPER nervous about DH having to do the PIO starting on Friday though!! He is way freaked out by needles and I’ve done all my own injections. Can’t do that one though- so I hope he can handle it! Bought him a present today - some oranges to practice on!

  • So yesterday on a whim after work I decided to test to see if the trigger shot was leaving my body, remind you I was only 5 days past trigger yesterday, I was shocked to see the line being significantly lighter than the first test, the line was sooooo faint. So I guess it's exciting that it's finally leaving my body so I can get real results sooner. I plan on testing again tomorrow or Saturday, I have feeling the test will be negative by then considering how light it was yesterday.

Well, my second beta was not good. It dropped into the 20s, which is about a 50% drop.  I still have to go in tomorrow “so he can see what’s going on,” but this feels like a bust. I really shouldn’t be at work today because I’m inclined to break into tears at random intervals. But I have a few big deadlines coming up, so here I am.

If anyone has suggestions for clinics in NYC, I’m open to them. (Currently at CWRC.) We want to get a second opinion before doing this again.

  • @mac627 I've got my fingers crossed!  Today I'm experiencing even more symptoms though I'm starting to wonder if I've got a UTI - i'm peeing constantly this morning and the cramps are alternating between mild and very noticable.  I'm exhuasted but that could just be PMS.  I'm noticing smells more but again, it could just be me over analyzing.  Trying to hold off until Monday at the earliest to test.  On Monday i'll be 12dpo and only a day or two before my period.  I'm glad your trigger went well!  Oranges as "practice" was a good idea for your hubby!!
  • Oh @Bababatty, I’m so sorry friend.

  • @Bababatty I’m so sorry!! Holding out hope for you ❤️

@thothscribe81 hope all these symptoms mean you’re KU and not pms/uti!

My ER was today- it wasn’t bad. Just tired and crampy. Spending my day relaxing and watching baking shows. We got 14 eggs so now we just wait for the fert report tomorrow!

@MicahDahn - ugh! That is a long wait! Hopefully it goes by quickly! :)

@Bababatty - sending you big hugs. I keep thinking about you, like about how hard this is. I've been following you for so long and seen all the BFNs, attempt after attempt. I was really hoping this was the one - I'm still hoping, even though the one beta result was dropping. It's hard for anyone to have a second, lower beta - it's particularly hard when it was your first BFP after more than 2 years of trying, and a year of treatments.

I'm so so sorry. :( Ugh! It's not fair!

    Pregnancy Ticker

  • Started spotting on Friday night and continued to get heavier over the weekend - expecting full flow to start anytime now :(  I knew it was a long shot since we are planning on IVF in February but was hoping for that small chance we'd get lucky.  I know we still have a few months before we start IVF to keep trying its just so frustrating.  Will start back on the femara later this week and then using OPKs (the doctor felt that spending a huge amount of money on monitoring/triggering ovulation didn't make sense financially for us since we are now saving for IVF so we are trying "naturally" just with a little medication help to help with my ovulation to give us a better shot).  I feel like December will be tough because if we don't get pregnant we will find out again just before Christmas - I'd really love to get a positive pregnancy test from Santa this year!
  • @tops-2 That sucks!  I'm in the same boat - waiting for full flow to arrive later this afternoon or this evening :(

Thank you so much, all, for your kind words and sympathy! I know far too many of you have been in a similar position. I just wish none of us had to go through all of this emotional upheaval.

*TW* My hcg was down to 6 on Friday so it’s a loss. I’d say last week was a rollercoaster, but really it was just a steep downward slide. We’ve got an appointment with our RE in two weeks and I think I’ve found a doc for a second opinion, so I need to confirm with DH and then schedule that, too. *end TW*

@tops-2 and @thothscribe81 I’m so sorry, ladies! I was really hoping this was your cycle. Lots of hugs to both of you!

  •  I am currently 9dpo and 10dpt, I have tested the trigger out of my system and I am 80% positive it was negative this morning but there could be a possible evape looking line. My plan is to test in 3 days.  I have been feeling really crummy today, I have alot of lower abdomen pressure, I hoping that's implantation to go along with the temperature drop this morning? I am really not trying to symptom spot, but I will say this waiting game is getting harder and harder knowing I am only 3 days away from testing day.
  • @Bababatty I’m so sorry you got the confirmation you didn’t want. Will you be starting anything this next cycle or just waiting to talk to the RE?

@tops-2 and @thothscribe81 so sorry you ladies are experiencing AF. That sucks! Hope the next cycle is the lucky one for you both!

AFM I had my retrieval last week and I’m scheduled for transfer tomorrow. Excited and nervous! I feel like with IF we are constantly getting our hopes up and being let down. Hoping my first IVF cycle makes the difference!

  • Hi ladies,

I'm new to this board but not new to the Bump community.  DH and I have been TTC since January 2016.  I was active in the TTC board for sometime but needed to take a break for a while.  I'm now 36 and DH is 37.

We just got back from a follow-up visit to our FS.  It is a 4-hr drive to our nearest clinic so it's been a struggle - taking time off, additional cost of travel etc. I'm very frustrated because they still cannot tell us why we can't conceive.  My FS is one of the top in Canada so I'm confident in his abilities.  I know "unexplained infertility" is not uncommon but I was really hoping for some answers!  So far we've had normal SA for DH, normal SHG, normal bloodwork for me (incl LH normal FSH normal; LH<FSH). Thyroid good, etc. etc. etc.  Had AMH results today which is concerning...only 7.2 which is low for my age (apparently normal if I was 42).  But that doesn't tell us what is wrong just that time is running out faster than we thought.  We are both in excellent health, have healthy lifestyles (except I have a very stressful job).

Our protocol now includes cycle monitoring for next month, and IUI after that but Dr. is recommending IVF now before my ovarian reserve gets lower.  Argh. This is the most frustrating and heartbreaking experience of my life and I needed to vent to some women who understand what I am going through - I know there are others who have similar stories.  How do you deal?  Honestly, it's the not knowing that is the worst for me.

@mac627 - Good luck! FX for your embies!

@kiwielopingbride - Welcome! Sorry for your struggles, hope your time here is short. Unexplained infertility sucks.

Hm. A 7.2 AMH seems high to me, but maybe you are looking at a different unit of measurement? I always see them in ng/ml.
