well i googled variations of colored diarrhea and signs of preterm labor yesterday. Many times. Along with “toddler kicks leg out weird.” Because she’s doing a thing now and I can’t tell if something is wrong or if she just learned something new.
Also, prices of sending Christmas gifts through UPS.
ETA: I just realized 2/3 of those are not pregnancy related but it’s fiiiiiiiiine.
Are Epsom salts safe during pg? (Yes!) Best maternity workout clothes (looking for some that don't suck but also don't cost a third of a crib!) Spinning babies (weird but you can change the position of the baby if it's breach, apparently)
How big is uterus at ___ weeks Can baby be stuck to endometrium (don't ask me why I googled this.. I blame it on my husband) Risks of baby being sunny side up -Those are just a few recent ones, there's been so many the last 5 months. I am sure the people at google are like what is wrong with this girl haha
@npkat I think the only risk is to you if the baby is sunny-side up, but I'm not 100% on that. What did Dr. Google say? (My BFF's first was sunny-side up and her birth story is a nightmare IMO so definitely hoping that's not how things go for any of us.)
*runs off to google: what does it mean for a baby to be sunny-side up?* I've been googling sooo many things. Most recently: flat nipples and breastfeeding problems (I wasn't sure if mine qualified as flat... I don't think they do)
" What do Braxton Hicks feel like?" "Does pregnancy cause knee pain without previous knee problems?" "Can the baby squash my lungs?" (it feels like they are being lightly squashed right now)
I'm also now googling the sunny side up question.
Me: 36 DH: 37 Married: 5.27.16 Baby Boy Due: 3.18.18
Things I've googled lately have been: "tilted uterus fetal movement" "is ____ safe to eat during pregnancy" *TW "fetal viability at ____ weeks" *end TW "introducing your dog to baby" "should I get a roomba"
@ksmwalters the answer to your roomba question is yes! Especially if you have a pet that sheds. We actually have a Neato BotVac because they're supposedly better for pet hair (I did a lot of researching before we bit the bullet), and it goes in straight lines instead of randomly. That was a big plus for me because I like the pretty carpet lines it leaves lol they are a lot of money, but so worth it in my opinion. I justified it by breaking it down to the cost/day if it were to run every day for two years.
@ksmwalters The risks are that the head can get stuck on the pubic bone which increases the chances of c-section, or need for assistive devices like vacuum to deliver. But then some can deliver just fine that way. Apparently back labor is horrible when they are positioned this way though.
@npkat Yeah, from what my BFF told me it was awful back labor. She also had to have pitocin so that made things worse. From my understanding it also means you'll have to push way longer if you don't wind up getting a c-section. She pushed for over 3 hours before her daughter was born. (Also had a complete tear and bled so much she filled out some form about maternal mortality and blood loss. Basically the doctors implied she wouldn't have made it 40 years ago. She had a c-section for her second.)
The results came back with a very specific Dr Google diagnosis, which was confirmed by a doctor, who was very impressed with my mad medical skilllz.
But seriously, it's so gross. I have all the sadz about this weird freakish pregnancy thing. The first treatment didn't work, so hopefully the next one does.
***March '18 October Siggy Challenge: Halloween Costume Fails***
@antoto you could totally already be feeling them. I’ve been getting them since about 14 weeks. You probably already know this from googling but if you feel more than six in an hour and water/changing position doesn’t help stop them, call your doctor or head to labor/delivery.
@ksmwalters ahh, I too desperately want a Roomba. I added it to my Amazon baby registry, not because I think anyone would or should buy it (and it isn't eligible for the diaper or completion discount either), but because I'll be slightly more justified buying in when its 'for the good of the baby'. As an aside, I also think it will be funny to watch our dog interact with it. Win win.
The only baby things I google have been issues that have come up in discussion threads on this board that I'm clueless about... which today includes: hypnobabies/hypnobirthing and 'what happens in a glucose test?'
This board/Google has taught me a lot (and also perhaps given me new anxieties).
@ShawnnaO I think I got my crazy pregnancy Google searches out of the way during my first pregnancy and now pretty much Google about DD - so I'm with you.
@JBcakes08 You must not be in WI - there are brats everywhere. Hope you found one!
HappyMonkey817@bettyvonsomethingstein And now I had to have a tuna sub for dinner. I blame both of you. (I also Googled how much tuna during pregnancy - it wasn't a craving last time around.)

@muggle621@antoto I’ve definitely been having them since around 20 weeks and my doctor says it is normal.
Mine is - “how often should you feel baby move at 23 weeks” because maybe I’ve just been busy today and wasn’t as aware of movement, but I’ve been consciously waiting to feel movement for the last hour or so and haven’t.... trying to remain calm. l typically feel movement all the time.
I don’t really Google pregnancy related things. When I do it is either “fundal height at x weeks”, or “how many months is x weeks” (I still get confused lol). First pregnancy was terrible, though.
My last google searches were “which whales are black and white”, “how to bake bacon”, and a search for cupcake decorating ideas.
The black and and white whales are called Killer Whales, btw. Toddler/pregnancy brain leaves me with a lot of blank spots lol

My first was 9lbs6oz and sunny side up... we needed forceps, and yes, back pain was a bia I asked for an epi way sooner than I thought I'd need one!
@ksmwalters I pretty much Google everything pg related and end it with "tilted uterus". Also recently Googled best maternity classes in my area, reviews on my daycare options and cute pajamas.
Was googling all sorts of paranoid stuff yesterday when I came down with a stomach bug. Luckily seems like a relatively mild one, tho I took today off to keep resting.
@baybeesunflower I have cloudy urine all the time and I’m always trying to chug water and haven’t had a UTI. You’re not alone!
@becausescience no, I wish! I’m in STL. I went to a pub and ordered their bratwurst and it was terrible. Tasted like an apple flavored hot dog. The craving continues.
@stlbuckeye132 oh no, I hope it’s nothing serious! Do you ever get tonsil stones? I’m a dental hygienist and I see that pretty often.

I REALLY wanted a tuna sub this past weekend and was too lazy to go to the subway 5 mins away so I'm still craving it, I might guilt DH into going to get one for me tonight...
No crazy google searches this pregnancy yet (had plenty the first time around though) but all of you talking about tuna are grossing me out lol. Other than @mdfarmchick because I do love tuna noodle casserole... but sandwiches and tuna helper nooo thank you lol!!! So funny so many of you are craving that!

I have been googling anything and everything about anterior placentas - movement, possible side effects during labor, etc
I also googled several variations of "bratwursts near me" over the weekend because I was dying for one and didn't know where to go.

Random, but the "baby doing Roomba rodeo" video currently circulating on social media is another positive reason to invest in one.
