@TInman87 I went to the hospital for a false alarm twice. Once was billed, once was not.
The first one was after I was hit in the stomach and then had a long period of time without movement. They had to monitor me. The second time, I thought I was in labor (I was but it was eary) and they did a check and sent me home.
@kelk5 my friend had a son that had a mild egg allergy they discovered when he was old enough to pick up eggs and feed himself. His hand broke out in a rash and his body got rashy. That was first indication of the allergy, the direct contact. He is 4 now and seems to have outgrown it. I know it's not the same circumstance but hopefully you won't have to deal with severe allergy concerns either.
@cricket99 I didn't realize they could test at 6 months already! Thank you. I'm currently looking for a pediatrician and will also start looking for an allergist.
@trudytrudy that sounds very similar to how my MIL found out about my BIL's peanut allergy. DH and his brother were eating peanut butter and jelly sanwiches then went to play with their two week old little brother (BIL) who then broke out in hives.
@kelk5 DS got tested at 9 months after a few incidents and our pediatrician was just like, yeah, just start talking to your next pediatrician early about getting the next one tested and save yourself the trouble of having to find out through ER trips
@TInman87 Yes. With DD spotting happened on a Saturday night which worried me coupled with some decreased movement. We went in and was monitored for a few hours. We were billed for the visit and sent Home. Labor started for real Monday and DD was born Tuesday. It wasn’t a huge deal financially because we have a high deductible plan and we were going to have to meet that anyway with the delivery.
@libbberty I did use an oil, I'm 99% sure I used vitamin E oil (but it was a while ago, so it might have been coconut oil). I'd think you'd definitely want to use an oil or it would be even more (unnecessarily) painful.
