Thank you, @ladythrice! That looks like some really good information. We are planning to discuss it again after the anatomy scan next visit, so we'll see how that goes!

Is it normal to start feeling some pressure in the lower abdomen/pelvic region at 17 weeks? It seems too early put I have been noticing heaviness and pressure today.
I am having the same feeling. Last time I don't remember it being this early. But the pressure doesn't feel extra or more (If that makes sense), just earlier than with DD.
I had a follow-up ultrasound today and everything looked good! They said the anatomy scan would be a much better look at everything when baby is bigger, but it was reassuring to see baby looking good today.
My question: Baby was measuring over a week ahead again this week and my doctor wants to change my due date. The due date I have now is based on the date of my positive ovulation test and due date based on my initial ultrasound at 7.5 weeks.
Has anyone had their due date changed based on a later ultrasound (the way baby was measuring at 11.5 weeks versus 7.5 weeks)? If my due date now is correct, then baby is measuring really big, which is atypical for my babies (usually born about average size and the ones that get huge do so after birth). Then again, I feel really confident of my dates, so I honestly don't know what to think at this point. I do think it matters, though, because I want to make sure baby has the full time it needs to gestate and is not kicked out early for going past it.
Did you track your basal body temp as well? You can get multiple positive ovulation tests in one cycle (say you suddenly get sick or stressed, your body can delay and surge again later ). I normally I am all for shrugging off nit picky U/S techs, but if you don't have a history of big babies, it could have happened to you.
@ngolimento no I didn't track basal body temp, but I was taking ovulation tests consistently (at the same time each day, etc) each day the week prior and I only got one positive. If my doctor really thinks we should change it I will probably go along with it, so long as if toward the end of pregnancy baby starts measuring "small" we can all remember that the correct EDD could well have been a week later.

@JJMNO1616 I say yes, especially due to all of the increased blood flow to that area-- things may be engorged, baby is in the rapid growth phase, etc. FWIW, I'm feeling the pressure at 16 weeks and I remember having it with DD as well. (Maybe around this same time? Idk.) I would mention it to your OB if it moves beyond a slight pressure or heaviness feeling to anything painful or intense, especially if accompanied by increased cramping or any spotting (to rule out cervical incomptitence- which sometimes shows up right before or around 20 weeks). Though, it's most likely just normal pregnancy stuff at this point.
@kbamomma33 That's exactly what I have been worrying about... I was noticing a slight discomfort/pain last night but I actually think it was gas lmao. It hasn't been too bad today. On another note, where have you been lady? You some come out of lurk mode more often.
@JJMNO1616 Ah yes, gas. Glad you haven't been in much discomfort today. I've been around and lurking some, but not participating as much here because life. I'll try to poke my head out of my lurker hole more often.
Question for ladies in cold climates... is buying a winter maternity coat a thing I need to do? It just got freeeezing in Boston the past couple days and I'm wearing my beloved Marmot down parka today and realized I'm definitely not getting through this winter with it. I've only got a few more inches of room. Really don't wanna spend the money on a winter coat for the bump since I invested in this one last year but I don't think there's any other way. Tell me there's another way!

Aside from hibernating all winter, which, I wish.
Since I am not made of money, I never buy maternity coats. I go to Burlington Coat Factory and buy a coat up a couple of sizes. SO much cheaper, and works really well.
@ngolimento that sounds like an excellent option, since I definitely didn't know where the money for a maternity coat was going to materialize from! Gonna start poking around for some. Gracias!
@frenchiekinplusone I actually bought a maternity coat and a maternity down vest from Motherhood when I was pregnant the first time, and both are going strong for this third pregnancy. I didn’t find them to be ultra expensive and they ended up being a great investment. Old Navy also has good cold-weather maternity outerwear and their stuff is always at least 30-40% off.
@kmalls I didn't even think of Old Navy, thank you!! I've luckily been wearing all hand me down maternity stuff from my very generous friends so I've been pretty out of the maternity clothes-shopping game so far. They have a couple of awesome options that are super on sale right now, might need to take advantage. Much cheaper than the ones I saw at Motherhood!
@frenchiekinplusone I was really hoping to avoid it but I’m going to have to give in and get a maternity coat. I’ve been wearing my jacket unzipped and it isn’t cutting it. We are just outside of Buffalo and it gets nasty. Plus, they’re predicting an extra cold winter. I bought one when I was pregnant with DD and wore it maybe once. We had an unseasonably warm winter that year and I didn’t need it. That does not look like it’s going to happen again this year
Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!
A but late to the party but yes yes yes to the difficulty making adult friends. I'm naturally an introvert and feel like I have plenty of close friends who all just happen to live 1-4 hours away from me. I'm already dreading having to navigate the play group shenanigans.
Im also nervous about who is gonna take care of my dogs when I go in to labor lol! I know it's very different from a kid bc they can be left alone for a few hours, but it just reminded me that we need to designate a person to come get them and take them to the boarding facility. So many logistics to consider!
As for the maternity coat discussion, I saw some cute ones on the Asos maternity site, but will also check out old navy. Wish ON actually carried their maternity line in stores!
Also for a maternity coat, check out eBay. I did a quick search and saw lots posted that looked good (seller has plenty of good feedback, sold in the US, very good condition). To me it's like online resale, and I'm happy to wear something that's been worn a couple times before as long as it's in decent condition.

Old Navy is having a sale - 50% off all jeans, sweaters, and outerwear. Looks like their maternity coats are $35 and under with the sale. Not sure on how heavy duty they are for winter weather though.
For the winter coat, I should be good with my old ones because I lost a significant amount of weight over the last year and even with a full term bump I don’t see how I could fill them out this year. Very grateful for that!!
For kids during delivery we relied on daycare until they closed. I was in labor all day but didn’t go to the hospital until 4pm. My coworker was on call to pick up at 5:30, but luckily baby arrived by 5, so dh picked her up, brought her to meet ds, then took her to the sitter for the night. He also took care of the dogs since the hospital is only a mile from home. (He left when I was napping). This time my in laws said they would try to come to watch both kids, if that doesn’t work out we will call the sitter again. Dh will take care of the dogs as well. If he can’t (it we end up at a NICU or have to travel to a bigger hospital) we have a hs girl who dog sits for us to come exercise and feed them.
@sapphires-and-diamonds totally took advantage of that sale today. Got a coat that looks pretty promising for $40 - the reviews make it seem like it's quite warm so here's hoping!

Awesome! I have one sitting in my cart. I have a dressier coat that was my sister-in-law's, but I'd like a casual one.
@kmalls that's the one I got - the frost free parka (maternity obviously). Glad to hear you're a fan. Was so hard not to buy all their other stuff but trying to keep my spending in check. I just wish their maternity was in stores, I have such a hard time with sizing in Old Navy pants/jeans.
Just want to add that my FAVORITE of all time maternity jeans, for price, comfort, fit, working pockets, etc are ON jeans. LOVE LOVE them. Snatch up a couple pairs!

@peppersmith22 it makes me crazy. When not pregnant I know that I’m usually like 2 sizes bigger in ON than other brands, so I’ll bring a few sizes into the fitting room with me - I swear I’m like 4 sizes bigger than my normal size in those Rockstar jeans (which I want to fit me so bad!) just to get my legs/butt/hips into them and then the waist is huge and I have major crack when I sit down. I don’t get it! With no maternity in stores to try on I don’t know if I should even bother ordering their pants online.
we must be the same body shop @frenchiekinplusone! I have the same problem. ON did carry maternity my first pregnancy and I found that the thighs are really tight but the belly area is huge. Granted I gained most of my weight in my thighs but still. I ended up with one ill fitting ON pair and no other maternity pants. Survived on maxis and maternity leggings.
@peppersmith22 glad I’m not the only one! And I’ve also been living in leggings. I still fit into my regular jeans with the fly all the way down and a belly band over it, but that combo drives me nuts and I’m always pulling my pants up.
For legging lovers, I just bought a pair of Blanqi maternity leggings (they are having a 50% off Black Friday pre-sale right now which is key since they are normally way more money than I’d spend on leggings) and they are AH-MAZING. Like best thing I’ve ever put on my body. Highly recommend.
