Re: Monday Ticker Change 11/6
17 weeks! Pomegranate
2. How are you feeling?
Good but I notice my body is just more tired. Not so much fatigue just... harder to get myself up and going.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Anatomy scan at the end of the month.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I finally started feeling little missy this past week! I think my H is a little jealous that I can feel her and he can't which is kind of cute. I'll be honest though, I don't love the way the movement feels at this stage. It's kind of creepy. In other news I'm also excited because I bought my flight to go back to Michigan in January for the baby shower. Some of you may remember I previously mentioned my friends/family and I were planning to do a dutch luncheon but as it turns out my Dad stepped up and offered to pay for a shower. We have a complicated relationship so I wasn't expecting that at all but I'm really relieved he offered to do that so it's not taboo or awkward anymore asking people to pay for their own food.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
I tend to go for fruit flavored candy like starburst and skittles which is what I bought to pass out to trick or treaters and now I have SO MUCH left over because it rained like cats and dogs on Halloween.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 19!
2. How are you feeling? Pretty good. I think the headaches are not as bad but I usually wake up with one. I think I'll have to start drinking more water at night.
3. Any appointments coming up? I have my anatomy scan this Friday!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? By the time 2/3 in the afternoon hits I'm trying everything to stay up. I'm just so exhausted at that point it makes concentrating on anything really hard. Anyone have hints or tricks to handle the afternoon exhaustion? I don't remember feeling this way with DD.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite? Give me all the KitKats!!
19 weeks! Baby is the size of a mango or a adipose
2. How are you feeling?
Ok just tired and sort of just uncomfortable. I don't feel like I get to relax as much as the first time. Finally starting to feel like I can eat again without feeling sick but still NOTHING ever sounds good to eat.
3. Any appointments coming up?
not until the 16th when we have our anatomy scan. Since we are having a party on the 18th to reveal the sex my mom says I can't tell anybody before she finds out. She even told me to call in sick the next to work so my co-workers won't harass me to find out.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
DD asked to wear big girl underwear this weekend. She did really good on Saturday, even with all the running around we did. She ended up falling asleep and peed while asleep, which was quite upset about because she was afraid I would throw out her Troll underwear (didn't since it was just pee). Sunday she ended up pooping and had a breakdown when I threw them out because it wasn't a little mess and I was not washing that. SO hopefully she continues to improve.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
Twix, Milkyway, Starburst, and Gobstoppers. Although we went to the store over the weekend and they still had a lot of the good candy there and it was a dollar a bag so we stocked up even more. Plus it will come in handy tomorrow when I call in sick to go see Thor: Ragnarok.
@mispanda maybe eating a small snack might help with that. I know I usually hit the wall around the time and sometimes a granola bar or other small snack helps.
19wks, mango!
2. How are you feeling?
The exhaustion is real! I don't remember being this tired this early on with my last pregnancy.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Check up tomorrow. Anatomy scan next week!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I was able to get a prenatal massage yesterday...it was wonderful!
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
I love all chocolate but if I have to pick one, it's gotta be butterfinger!
@JJMNO1616 I love cherry fruity candy and felt no shame eating DD's laffy taffy. The movements this early are kinda creepy and definitely reassuring!
@mispanda I fall victim to an afternoon nap just about everyday. I feel kinda guilty leaving DD at daycare until 530-6 when I'm done work at 230 but I just can't help it!

1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
17; a pomegranate
2. How are you feeling?
Pretty good. Still getting headaches though. Also starting to feel "heavy". Need to really really stop giving myself excuses and start exercising. I enjoyed exercise before being pg, but I relied heavily on energy stimulants to get me going. Obviously out of the question now, so its mind over matter.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Wednesday! Another cervix checkup.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Rave! We got our crib the other day and its all set up! Found a good deal through offer-up. I knew I wanted to get a convertible so that DD can use it for a long time. When I picked it up, the lady said her daughter (now 3) outgrew it. I was about to tell her its a convertible and goes all the way to a full size bed, but shut my mouth. Her loss lol, but I triple checked that bed and it is!
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
Butterfingers, almond snicker, almond joys, reeses and kitkats...in that order
I with everyone else on all the early movement! I've never felt my kids this early but I've felt the first little flutters already!
@stephiemk oh my gosh I'm so jealous of the massage! How wonderful!
@Scuba_chic congrats on the crib score!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 17 weeks today and SHE'S the size of a pear!
2. How are you feeling? I feel pretty good. I really need to take this positive energy and get outside and start moving...
3. Any appointments coming up? I have one next week. It's just an U/S to measure my cervix length.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? I think we settled on a name for DD2! My brain was so convinced she was a boy I'm having a hard time adjusting my thoughts... and every time I remember she's a girl my mind gets blown again lol. Part of me still doubts it so we're not officially announcing until after my appointment next week where they will confirm the sex.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite? Hmm so my faves this year have been Almond Joys, Butterfingers (only 1 :'(), and Peanut Butter M&Ms. I could eat my weight in those damn M&Ms...

@mispanda ugh I wish I had a trick to get through the afternoon. I just have to put one foot in front of the other
@Dumbgurl04 that's great your DD asked to wear underwear. My DS still says NOPE when I bring it up, so I'm not gonna push it. He reallllly needs to hurry up, though.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
19 weeks! Size of a mango.
2. How are you feeling?
So awful. I came down with something viral last Friday and it's been brutal. I'm ready to feel normal again.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Anatomy scan on Friday!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I'm a little disappointed I'm not feeling more movement at this point. It's the first pregnancy I haven't had an anterior placenta, but I'm only feeling tiny little flutters here and there. I know once things get going I'll feel kicks like crazy, but I was thinking I'd feel more by now.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
Snickers. Give me allllll the Snickers. After that I'll take 3 Musketeers, Kit Kats and Almond Joy. I also won't turn down M&M's or Twix
@Dumbgurl04 I hope the transition to undies goes smoother from now on!
@ladythrice I'm having a hard time adjusting my thoughts too! When I was pregnant with DS, the ultrasound tech at our 12 week NT scan said we were definitely having a girl, but at our 20 week ultrasound we found out DS was a boy. Our NIPT results say we're having a girl, but my brain is still not convinced even though I know the NIPT is very unlikely to be wrong. I think/hope the anatomy scan will set my brain right.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
15 Weeks, orange
2. How are you feeling?
Great, I even cleaned around the house last weekend.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until next Friday
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Time change blues, I hate it when it's already dark when I leave work.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
I had Skittles, and I don't know why, but OMG they were amazing. I might actually have to eat Skittles once in a while.
18 weeks! Artichoke!
2. How are you feeling?
Meh. Physically I'm fine but definitely very emotional. Not sure if I'm feeling baby yet , so envious of those who have! Definitely more tired too, which is a mix of baby and new blood pressure meds I think!
3. Any appointments coming up?
Thursdat check up / meeting with new OB! She's closer to us so we won't be in crazy traffic trying to get to or from (freaking San Diego traffic!)
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
My emotions were out of control yesterday which is so unlike me. I've been kinda bummed that my friends have kinda fallen off the face of the earth since I've been pregnant (how do you guys deal with that ?) And feeling pretty lonely. Long story short boyfriend went fishing all day on my only day off and didn't invite me when he normally does so that turned into a fun rollercoaster of craziness. We just moved in together a month or so ago and I know we need our own time but it still sucked to have to be by myself on the only day I didn't have to do AnYTHING and he just doesn't understand why which is also making me feel a little isolated (yay rants). Totally find doing things independently but itd be nice to not have to for once.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
Moms house had so much extra candy I've been digging almond joys. At work the candy box has HUNDRED GRAND BARS which are my absolute favorite and I can't stay away.
@irenejean I hate how dark it is at the end of the day as well. I would much rather drive to work in the dark.
@kmalls I'm so sorry to hear you got sick! I felt really weird yesterday for about an hour (sweaty and shaky) but then it seemed to go away.
18 weeks, artichoke/slingshot
2. How are you feeling?
Pretty good! Finally have more energy, and I convinced my boss to let me get an exercise ball chair for the office which is doing WONDERS for my back pain. My limping stopped the day I got it!
3. Any appointments coming up?
Anatomy scan on 11/17, which feels so far away right now
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Echo others on feeling movement! Confession time: I actually have been thinking I felt movement for the past 3 weeks, but since it was so early I wrote it off as gas or whatever for awhile. It's really ramped up the past week and feels like I what I thought was movement before, only stronger. So now I'm pretty confident that is what I was feling. Either way, it's exciting to feel so much so early! With DS I had an anterior placenta and I didn't feel anything at all until much later.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
3 Musketeers
@scuba_chic Anything peanut and chocolate is great! We can't eat too much of it now that it's been discovered that DD has a peanut allergy. Poor kid!

15 - orange
2. How are you feeling?
Having some pretty awful hip pain that I aggravates yesterday when trying to pull the stroller up the stairs backwards, ouch. Anyone happen have tips for alleviating hip pain? I alternated ice & heat all day yesterday and it's slightly better today.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Anatomy scan on 11/16
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
This poor child - With DD I was taking weekly pictures tarting at 10 weeks and writing in her baby book weekly. Not one picture taken yet with this one and I haven't even bought a book. I need to get on that!
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
Oh my goodness - the Reese's PB cups with the Reese's Pieces inside!! Can't get enough. I seriously need to rein it in though! I think I'm using this pregnancy as an excuse to eat all the candy which I normally never do.
@irenejean - I despise the time change too! I get seasonal depression on occasion and am not looking forward to that + pregnancy. I've also been trying to walk in the neighborhood every day after work but there goes that possibility now. Grr.
15 weeks, baby is the size of a navel orange
2. How are you feeling?
Good! I have no complaints this week
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until my anatomy scan on Dec 8th.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
It's parent/teacher conference week at my school...they make for some very long days and I already can't wait to sleep all weekend (oh, wait, I have a two year old)
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
I'm trying my hardest to avoid the candy, but I can't resist the kit kats!
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
I think the friendship change is felt more prominently by younger people or by people who are at different stages of life. Like, if you're in a steady relationship, homeowner, career oriented, but your friends are still fresh out of school, not sure what they want to do with their lives and on the hunt for their next love, its so drastic of a difference its hard to bridge the gap when you start having kids (just based on my observation of others) and it makes the changes to a friendship more noticeable.

@StephieMK what's funny is early last week they told me at daycare that DD does so great with going potty. She usually tells them she has to go and stays dry the whole day. They actually brought up bringing underwear in the next couple of weeks to try that. I was shocked when her daycare told me because she is so hit or miss at home but after they told me and I asked her why she can't potty like that at home she has gotten way better.
@priestess619 from my experience I have a really good friend at work who has fertility issues, which we sometimes talk about because I ask her how things are going. I found I was pregnant right around the time she was having a miscarriage and some other issues with her recent treatment (I had no idea at the time) and she kind of stopped talking to me as much and because short when we tried to gossip about normal work things. I just gave her some space then about a month or so later she started talking normally again and that is when I found out about the things in July (which I told her I felt like such an ass, even though I didn't talk much about my pregnancy) She was ok and just said she needed some space which is perfectly understandable. Also another example I have a friend who likes to go out and drink on weekends which sometimes after my kid goes to bed I'll met up with here but it doesn't happen a lot. She got married 2 1/2 months before me and she is going through a divorce right now and I'm going to have my second kid. So we are just going through different stages in life but we are still friends even if we don't talk and see each other a whole lot. It will happen when you have kids sometimes you just have to give people space.
priestess619 I am so sorry to hear about your friends, you will make new ones that understand your situation in life, I know its a hard transition though, just try to do things for YOU when you get lonely, like a pedicure or something. I'm in my mid-twenties and having my second child and some people my age are in the same stage, some are still partying. Like the above poster said, you just have to find people that understand your situation. I also have a couple friends that are going thru fertility treatments, both my best friends (but not with each other) and I just have to go thru not going on about my pregnancy with them because I know its painful.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
17 weeks! Size of a Turnip.
2. How are you feeling?
I am feeling pretty good energy wise, which is awesome. However, just when i got my energy back i've been slammed with headaches recently
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not till Nov 28th; my anatomy scan. Can't wait to find out the sex
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Rants...Work has been insane the last couple days, just getting a little time to breath today thank goodness and the stupid headaches! Rave.. I felt baby move for the first time last night, for sure!! And then again today, so I love that.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
I would say I normally lean toward the fruit ones like sweet tarts and laffy taffys but I also enjoy a twix
17 - pomegranate
2. How are you feeling?
Good. Yesterday I ran 3 miles with DD in the B.O.B then raked leaves for 2 hours and felt really good! It's been nice to have more energy to workout and stuff.
3. Any appointments coming up?
MW checkup next week, anatomy scan at the end of the month
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I also resent the time change, it gets dark now SO early. But I am excited for the upcoming holidays.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
Snickers, skittles, or licorice. I ate a few pieces each day leading up to Halloween but then brought our leftovers and DD's haul to work the next day. My sweet tooth has been intense this pregnancy.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
16 weeks
2. How are you feeling?
Pretty good! Today is the first day in 3 weeks without horrendous back pain. Annoyed that the physical therapy has me out of work so often and costs $30 every time, but clearly it's working.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until next week, routine check up.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
Eh, for anyone tracking my rant in the weekly randoms thread - SIL still hasn't had baby. They'll let her go until Thursday and then induce (we arrive Friday, ugh). The worst part for her is she planned to deliver at a birthing center but if they induce she'll have to go to the hospital which does a mandatory 3 day stay after delivery. Does 3 days seem super long to anyone else?? With DS they would let us leave after 24 hours but recommended 48, which was fine with us.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
Pb cups and peppermint patties, yum!!
Thanks for the input and words of advice/listening to me vent . I half feel SUPER bratty and egocentric about expecting everyone to have time for me , half kind of expected my friends to be there for me for this surprise (a good one!) I'm definitely independent usually so I'm struggling with these needy feelings but definitely need to get back into the things I love. I'm definitely someone who loved going out prepregnancy (moreso than I should have, at least it's saving me money haha) so the transition has been a little hare, but healthy ! I think I need to find me some other mom's to be in the area !
@kaessi So sorry to hear about your hip pain! I've been having hip pain the last few days. I took an epsom salt bath and feel somewhat better. Maybe that would help you? Good idea about icing & heat. I hope yours gets better soon!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 16 weeks today. Baby is the size of an avocado (my favorite)!
2. How are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty well! I feel fairly normal besides increased hip pain, which is making it hard to walk throughout the day. I tried working out this evening and ended up limping out of the gym.. I was not doing a hard workout by any means! Hip pain is something that I've dealt with for 4-5 years, but I am nervous now that I'm pregnant and don't ever feel like I know what I can and cannot do.
3. Any appointments coming up? I have an appointment coming up the first week of December for my 20-week ultrasound. Hoping baby looks good.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? Sometimes I think I feel baby moving but I'm never quite sure.. I cannot wait until it's obvious!
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite? I love Skittles and any type of gummies at the moment!
@kmalls, I hope you feel better soon! I also am super eager to feel baby moving. FTM here and still waiting.
@growingournest, I've got conferences coming up in a week and a half. I feel like I'm drowning in report card stuff. Sending good vibes for your week to go quickly!
@Dumbgurl04, I'm glad to hear that things got back to normal between you and your friend with fertility issues. One of my closest friend's IVF failed right around the time I found out I was pregnant. Things are still weird between us. I'm really trying to give her space and I'm hoping we can figure it out.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
17 weeks; pomegranate
2. How are you feeling?
I've been having headaches for the past week - pretty much non-stop. I've been trying to hydrate better and limit the Tylenol I'm taking.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Tomorrow! I finally get to visit the midwife practice we'll be delivering with. Had to switch things up due to my work switching insurance on us.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
No big complaints. I'm still waiting to look more pregnant and feel the baby move. I'm sure I'll regret saying this in a few months when I'm feeling huge and uncomfortable.
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
Pregnancy is the first time in my life I've had a sweet tooth! I've always been a cheese for dessert kind of girl. NOT ANYMORE! I'm really enjoying Reese's PB cups and Twix. Still not big on Skittles and Starbursts though.
Edited for spelling
Also, to your comment about the sweet tooth, before getting pregnant with DS, I was a savory/salty fiend. I could easily turn down all sweets for a salty snack instead. I still LOVE salty/savory goodies but now I'm also obsessed with sweets... and its WAY worse whenever I'm pregnant. My DH is a sweet lover and I can't help but wonder if his sperm infected me...

@StephieMK jealous of that massage! That sounds amazing!
@scuba_chic a lot of my friends haven't converted their cribs because the cost of the additional parts sometimes is more than a cheap bed frame for their kids.
@ladythrice I keep feeling like we are having a boy. We haven't decided if we will find out this Friday but if we do and it's a girl (I"ll be just as happy) I think it will be hard for my brain. I keep saying 'he' all the time.
@kmalls I have an anterior placenta this time (I might of last time too) and I just feel flutters down low. Nothing can be felt from the outside.
@keeksie84 I was having a lot of headaches too. My OB told me that you can be well hydrated and still get headaches because sometimes it's just a pregnancy thing. He told me that by 20 weeks there should be some kind of relief. Now I'm sure everyone is different but thought I would share.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
18 - a pair of artichokes!
2. How are you feeling?
I accept that my increased mucous production is all going to my sinuses - bleh. Have more energy, but stamina is LOW after being a lazy bum since IVF.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Thursday morning! Standard OB visit, but I think we will schedule anatomy scan!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I spent a few hours installing our new gas cooktop! It's so pretty lol
5. As we are all working ourselves through our children's (or left over) Halloween candy.... which one is your favorite?
I don't really have a favorite... I am a horrible sugar junkie, and love chocolate, sour, and fruity candy. The only candy I don't like is gummy worms. They make me gag, and when I was in high school, I actually ate some to get sick on a date that I wanted to end
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
@mispanda, my midwife said the same thing today. She said a tiny bit of caffeine might help. Also, it could be vision change related. I'm hoping to see some relief by week 20!
