How far along are you? 9+2 (edited to reflect actual numbers lol)
How are you feeling? Starting to finally get over this flu. I don't feel like I have any pregnancy symptoms. No sore boobs. No nausea. I'm not even that tired given that I have the flu. The closest I get is that I really need to eat as soon as I wake up or I feel like I'm going to die of starvation, but I assume some non-pregnant people also crave breakfast (eye roll). Sigh.
What're your plans for Halloween? Nothing. We thought about signing up to give out candy (we live in a giant apt building in NYC), but decided against it because probably DH would end up working late, and I didn't want to give out candy by myself. If I feel better tomorrow I might do a makeup look for fun, but I won't leave the apartment, so.... lol
@doxiemoxie212 Aren't you 9+2? I only ask because I'm 9+3 and I thought we were the same week.
How far along are you? 9+3
How are you feeling? Crappy, still. Tired. Nauseated. Bloated. Tired. Sore boobs. Nausea. The B6+unisom isn't doing the trick. If things aren't on the upswing at my appointment on 11/15, or before even, I might see if I can get zofran.
What're your plans for Halloween? We are taking DS trick or treating downtown and then will probably go to 2-4 houses on our street. He's only 2, so he won't last long.
How are you feeling? I'm still just having issues eating. I know it could be worse with nonstop nausea. but I just want to eat like a somewhat normal person. I'm struggling.
What're your plans for Halloween? taking DS out trick or treating. he only lasts about an hour before he's over it. then comes home, looks at the candy.. and never looks at it again lol. so 1 hour is plenty. I might let him pass out candy for the rest of the time if he wants.

How are you feeling? good sadly. I haven't had much nausea or much for symptoms at all. I was reading Expecting Better last night and she got into a whole discussion about how nausea = healthy pregnancy and now I'm sad.
What're your plans for Halloween? Nothing really. We will hand out candy which I still need to buy.
@doxiemoxie212 what kind of make up look? I love watching the Halloween tutorials for the amazing looks that I would never be able to recreate.

@doxiemoxie212 Oh! That really sucks. @krashke I'm a firm believer that feeling nauseoud while pregnant doesn't mean a thing and I wouldn't read too much into what that book is saying. How are you feeling? Decent. I have a feeling this week will crawl by because I have nothing planned other than Halloween. Next week I will be super busy, I will hear back about a job I interviewed for, I have my first ultrasound, and my cousin is going to move in with us for a little bit.
What're your plans for Halloween? Just trick or treating with DD. But it looks like it's going to rain/snow tomorrow, so we might just drive to the grandparents for candy. She's only two, so it's not that big of a deal if we skip.
How far along are you? 5+6 eta -bump just notified me how far I am - I'm a mess
How are you feeling? I feel great. I have a class my Dr office wants me to go to tomorrow with other moms. I can't remember if it's just for FTM or a general class. We have to give a blood and urine sample so I'm hoping if anything is wrong I'll find out before my 11/20 appointment. The lack of symptoms makes me worry. I keep telling myself "maybe I'm having a boy??" by what old wives tales say. I really need to stay off the internet but the control freak in me can't step away.
What're your plans for Halloween? I have that class, and then DH and I have no idea. Our two doxies bark so much when a anyone comes to the door and our living room has been emptied from trying to sell our house (no where to hang out right now) we're thinking about just turning off the light and watching stranger things. Passing out candy seems like zero fun this year.
@krashke I also think that book is full of it. Everyone's pregnancy is different, and even each pregnancy with the same individual can be polar opposites! @ChloandCoco Enjoy the calm week before the storm
How far along are you? 6 Weeks + 6 Days
How are you feeling? Pretty good, on the upswing of fighting off this cold. I've had it for about 7 or 8 days now. I'm hoping this is it for the winter season, but I usually catch a few each year no matter how hard I try not to! Yesterday my neausea was in full swing. Today it's not as bad. Thurs I have my progesterone check follow up blood draw.
What're your plans for Halloween? DH and I are taking DS trick or treating in town. It's a huge thing where we live, with a parade that ends on this street where all the kids trick or treat. I feel bad for the people who live in this neighborhood...I've heard them say they spends HUNDREDS of dollars each year on candy to keep up with the crowds of kids they get.
Fx for those getting blood work and ultrasounds this week!

How are you feeling? Bleagh. Same old same old. Waiting for a call from the doctor on my beta results this afternoon. First appointment next Wednesday.
What're your plans for Halloween? Taking DSS trick or treating. Definitely plan to buy candy from the post Halloween sales. It's my favourite thing every year after holidays!
@izza2 FX results are what you're hoping for this afternoon and GL with your appointment on Wednesday.
@TravelingCouple Glad to hear you're getting over your cold. Your ToTing neighborhood sounds epic!! Are you dressing up too?
@galactickates If you're 5+7, wouldn't you just be 6 weeks? Maybe I'm missing something??
@ChloandCoco GL with your job interview! I just interviewed last week too. So much anticipation happening right now!
@krashke I read the same thing and I'm having the exact same reaction! Ugh - it was one of the few things in that book that really irritated me.
@catlady1215 Are you dressing up with YS? Or just taking him door to door?
@marcus7676 I'm sorry you aren't feeling well! But, I'm also crazy and somewhat jealous of your symptoms.
@doxiemoxie212 Glad to hear you're getting over your flu. So nice your building does trick or treating. Our building doesn't do anything, but we also only have a few kids in the building.
AFM...
How far along are you? 6+2
How are you feeling? Normal - nothing really to see here!
What're your plans for Halloween? I'm the worst this year. I sort of forgot it was almost Halloween. We carved pumpkins with my dear friend's daughter a few weeks ago, but other than that have not done much. We'll probably just stay home and avoid the drunkeness that is sure to be happening outside our building - we live next door to a very popular hotel/club and I'm sure they'll be having a party.
@LaceyBee522 when we first moved in in 2010, our building was like 99% wall street frat guys. We moved to DC for three years, and when we got back it was like holy wow, suddenly it's like at least 90% families. There are at least 500 apts in our building, so it's a lot of kids. And like elementary kids, not just tiny babies. It's so weird to me to see them roaming the lobby and the elevators by themselves with their scooters. DH is all, yeah totally normal for city kids to go to the bodega nextdoor by themselves at age 7. I'm like, wut, scuze me, does not seem safe.
@LaceyBee522 - My ovia app for whatever reason sent me a notification that I was 5+7. I thought that was really weird too. That's why I changed it to match. My ticker doesn't change until tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll be 6 weeks. Lol I'll just go with that answer.
Edited I can't remember what app. I thought it was the bump but now I think it was Ovia
Omg ok yes its 5+6. I feel bad for DH. He's been dealing with pregnancy brain. He asked me if I'm going to be like this the whole time. I said yes. He just quietly nodded and said ok
@doxiemoxie212 We live in an old, historic building so most of the units are studio/one bedrooms. We're one of the lucky ones with two bathrooms, but we'll probably still need to move before or soon after I give birth to have enough room. I'm going to be so sad to leave our building. To your point about kids going to the bodega - the independence of city kids in general freaks me out. The fact that they just take the subway to school has always boggled my mind.
@LaceyBee522 yes! DH's youngest brother is 10 years younger than us, so when we were first dating at 19, he was 9. And it blew my effing MIND that this tiny human took the subway 200 blocks by himself every day.
In a somewhat related topic, you guys are familiar with carpool lines, right? RIGHT??
@doxiemoxie212 We took the school bus growing up, so didn't have carpool lines. But, that scene from Mr. Mom where he doesn't know how the carpool lane works has always stuck with me. It might be time to re-watch that movie, speaking of...
@LaceyBee522 I am, I have this warrior princess costume. I'm the odd one out in my family as DS is Thomas the Train and DH homemade this train costume to match! It was too late for me to get a matching one but at least I have something. I wasn't allowed to Trick or Treat as a kid so I'm making up for through DS! Your night in sounds good too. Candy binge and watch a scary movie!
@doxiemoxie212 I'm not sure what kind of carpool lines you mean but we have HOV (high occupancy vehicle i.e. carpool) lanes on the highway. Or you can pay for a pass to use them even if you're solo.
What really grinds my gears is when I see people presumably on their way to drop off their kid using the carpool lane. Like you're kind of missing the point here! Those lanes are intended to encourage people to carpool, thus having fewer cars on the road. You and your toddler are not reducing traffic or the environmental impact.
Truth be told I will probably be that lady when I have a kid to drop off too.

Lol ugh! okay so I grew up in Marin county, outside San Francisco, and there are no school busses in the county. So, parents are encouraged to carpool so there are fewer cars, but there are still a ton of cars, and it's a county that was built mostly for horse and buggies, so the streets are not built to accommodate so many cars. So schools are really strict about carpool to try to make it more efficient. In the morning you have to get out of your car as quickly as you can (and only in a specific zone), and in the afternoon, everyone has to sit very quietly (VERY QUIETLY) and wait for the teacher with the bullhorn to call their name so you can get into your car. It takes a very long time and causes traffic for everyone in the county regardless of if they have children or not, lol. My mom and I were joking about this with DH, and he was like huh? Wut? Because he grew up in Manhattan.
So then when his parents came to visit us the other week in CA too, my mom and I were like haha DH doesn't know what a carpool line is. And his parents were like, uhhh we don't either? (Duh, they also grew up in Manhattan and Brooklyn.)
I was just completely shocked that people don't know about carpool lines and the madness involved. It was just so normal for me I figured it existed, in some form, everywhere. Nope!
DH really wants us to move back to Marin, but I'm already laughing about how many things are going to drive him completely insane.
@doxiemoxie212 So glad you are
finally getting over the flu. That carpool line thing sounds terrible.
@marcus7676 Sorry you are feeling so rough. Ask for the Zofran
if you feel you need it, even if before your appt. You can just take it as
needed.
@catlady1215 I’m sorry nothing sounds appetizing right
now. I was reading that’s a survival mechanism - meats and veggies are more
likely to be hazardous than bland foods so some pregnant women can only eat
bland foods.
@krashke Idk how accurate that part of Expecting Better
is. I have definitely known women who have very healthy pregnancies and babies
who had zero ms. Weirdly the ones I can think of all had boys… Which, I know
that’s kind of a wives’ tale but it’s interesting.
@chloandcoco Trick or treating in the cold and wet is
definitely no fun. Fx for your busy week next week. Maybe you can find a good
plan for this weekend to keep you distracted.
@galactickates Ha! I just typed that thing above about how
the women I’ve known who had no ms had boys. My sister had terrible ms (had to
go to the ER because she vomited 20 times in one day) and she has a girl. Maybe
there is truth to the rumor.
@travelingcouple Fx for your progesterone check. Idk about
those people in the neighborhood near you, but I love trick or treaters. I don’t
spend hundreds but usually at least $80 on candy. I’m actually really frustrated
right now because I ordered 80 ring pops and they weren’t delivered as of
earlier today…
@laxeybee522 I feel like for adults without kids pumpkin
carving is a good amount of Halloween spirit.
How far along are you? 5w5d
How are you feeling? Like a lot of you I have had symptoms come and go and it is freaking me out. I posted about it in last week's TTGP thread without realizing it was time to start a new one, but PGAL brain has been stirred up again. I even worried DH about it. Woops. We have our first u/s this Friday and I did a blood draw at the dr's this morning and won't know the results until tomorrow.
What're your plans for Halloween? We will be at home giving out candy, which I love to do. We have a big inflatable dragon we bought and will put it at the front of our driveway (we live on a little side street off a busier street and our house can be seen from the intersection so I try to make it "an attraction").
@laceybee522 I don't normally dress up. Got my Lularoe Halloween leggings tho lol. But it's going to be so cold, the unicorn onesie I had doesn't sound half bad lol. DH has 2 onesies, Mario and a minion, he usually wears one.
@zamora_spin that's an interesting concept! I got to keep reminding myself that! Although... not sure what to make the crap I am eating. I've eaten more hot dogs in the past 3 wks, then I've eaten in 3 yrs. and these processed frozen mexican rolled things. Normal me would be so grossed out by pregnant me lol. I will say I'm still eating my bigger bowl of spinach salad for lunch... which has slowly turned into all spinach and cheese cause everything I used is now gross lol.
@krashke I know others have said it, but don't worry about what that book said. I didn't get nauseous with my son till 9/10 wks. And even then it was small waves and that's it. And my mom loves to tell us she didn't know she was pregnant with either of us till 3 months cause she wasn't sick at all. Everyone just handles it differently!

Okay, so Friday's hcg was 9900, and this morning's hcg was 15,500. So a doubling time of 4 days, but at this point it's supposed to be a slower rate, so I'm trying not to be worried. First appt is next Wednesday, and first ultrasound should be 1 to 2 weeks after that.
@izza2 Those sound like nice numbers for where you’re at, they do expect hCG will double more slowly, especially over 6k. Fx for you. Sorry you have to keep waiting for u/s.
Guys, my OBGYN uploaded my urine analysis to the portal (but none of the bloodwork yet) from my first appointment, and guess what....? I'M PREGNANT! Yes, you heard that right. They were able to turn a positive HPT with my urine. (eye roll)
I just want the results from all the blood tests, mostly so I can find out why they needed 8 vials lol.
@doxiemoxie212 Congratulations on your pregnancy! I think a lot of states have guidelines on testing pregnant women for things like STDs. So my guess is you can look for forward to more “duh” type results soon. Eta because words.
@doxiemoxie212 - I'm laughing way too hard, because the sad thing is that at my OB office, they get a urine sample every time you're there. They do a pregnancy test, and also do a protein panel or whatever. Every. Time. I mean, I get the protein panel, but I feel like they're really just wasting a lot of pregnancy tests every day.
@doxiemoxie212 my doctor did blood type, CBC, pregnancy test. I don't know if I got the syphillis and HIV tests this time around (I did last time). Also FTMs get the cystic fibrosis test (but that might not be the first appointment).
@marcus7676 I am actually not getting any of the basic genetic tests done because I’m opting to do NIPT and I have had 23andme done (Doctors recommendation). So she was like we’re doing fewer blood vials than we normally would!
TW Y’all it’s been really nice being here with you. I thought the third time was the charm for me. Unfortunately my beta from yesterday was 1,290, down from 1,560 last Monday. Have been waiting all day for the RE’s office to call me back and tell me what they want me to do next but it doesn’t look good. End TW
I hope you all have the happiest and healthiest pregnancies and babies.

@izza2 fingers crossed for your bloodwork!
@travelingcouple good luck with your progesterone check!

So a doubling time of 4 days, but at this point it's supposed to be a slower rate, so I'm trying not to be worried.
First appt is next Wednesday, and first ultrasound should be 1 to 2 weeks after that.

I just want the results from all the blood tests, mostly so I can find out why they needed 8 vials lol.
I think a lot of states have guidelines on testing pregnant women for things like STDs. So my guess is you can look for forward to more “duh” type results soon. Eta because words.
I mean, I get the protein panel, but I feel like they're really just wasting a lot of pregnancy tests every day.
