  • @marcus7676 you are correct. I am losing my effing mind.
  • @doxiemoxie212 Pregnancy brain is real.

  • @krashke I still have the purple hair, so I was thinking maybe a mermaid look? But I'd need to go by some fishnet stockings... #lazy

so might do a popart wonder woman thing.
  • @doxiemoxie212 both of those sound fun! Is it weird that I have fishnet stockings just lying around my house? They are from old dance costumes so its not like I just wear them for fun...

  • @izza2 FX for great results!
  • @izza2 FX results are what you're hoping for this afternoon and GL with your appointment on Wednesday.

@TravelingCouple Glad to hear you're getting over your cold. Your ToTing neighborhood sounds epic!! Are you dressing up too?

    @galactickates If you're 5+7, wouldn't you just be 6 weeks? Maybe I'm missing something??

@ChloandCoco GL with your job interview! I just interviewed last week too. So much anticipation happening right now! :)

@krashke I read the same thing and I'm having the exact same reaction! Ugh - it was one of the few things in that book that really irritated me.

@catlady1215 Are you dressing up with YS? Or just taking him door to door?

@marcus7676 I'm sorry you aren't feeling well! But, I'm also crazy and somewhat jealous of your symptoms.

@doxiemoxie212 Glad to hear you're getting over your flu. So nice your building does trick or treating. Our building doesn't do anything, but we also only have a few kids in the building.

    AFM...

How far along are you? 6+2

How are you feeling? Normal - nothing really to see here!

What're your plans for Halloween? I'm the worst this year. I sort of forgot it was almost Halloween. We carved pumpkins with my dear friend's daughter a few weeks ago, but other than that have not done much. We'll probably just stay home and avoid the drunkeness that is sure to be happening outside our building - we live next door to a very popular hotel/club and I'm sure they'll be having a party.

  • @LaceyBee522 when we first moved in in 2010, our building was like 99% wall street frat guys. We moved to DC for three years, and when we got back it was like holy wow, suddenly it's like at least 90% families. There are at least 500 apts in our building, so it's a lot of kids. And like elementary kids, not just tiny babies. It's so weird to me to see them roaming the lobby and the elevators by themselves with their scooters. DH is all, yeah totally normal for city kids to go to the bodega nextdoor by themselves at age 7. I'm like, wut, scuze me, does not seem safe.  :#:D

@LaceyBee522 - My ovia app for whatever reason sent me a notification that I was 5+7. I thought that was really weird too. That's why I changed it to match.  My ticker doesn't change until tomorrow.  Tomorrow I'll be 6 weeks.  Lol I'll just go with that answer.

Edited I can't remember what app. I thought it was the bump but now I think it was Ovia

Omg ok yes its 5+6. I feel bad for DH. He's been dealing with pregnancy brain.  He asked me if I'm going to be like this the whole time.  I said yes.  He just quietly nodded and said ok
  • @doxiemoxie212 We live in an old, historic building so most of the units are studio/one bedrooms. We're one of the lucky ones with two bathrooms, but we'll probably still need to move before or soon after I give birth to have enough room. I'm going to be so sad to leave our building. To your point about kids going to the bodega - the independence of city kids in general freaks me out. The fact that they just take the subway to school has always boggled my mind.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @galactickates I could totally be wrong! I'm still figuring all this out. I, too, just go by whatever Ovia/The Bump tells me! The apps know all! :)
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @LaceyBee522 yes! DH's youngest brother is 10 years younger than us, so when we were first dating at 19, he was 9. And it blew my effing MIND that this tiny human took the subway 200 blocks by himself every day.

In a somewhat related topic, you guys are familiar with carpool lines, right? RIGHT??
  • @LaceyBee522 - Ovia shows 5+6 which is what I was going off of originally.  I got that notification that confused me.  I'm going to stick with Ovia.
  • @doxiemoxie212 We took the school bus growing up, so didn't have carpool lines. But, that scene from Mr. Mom where he doesn't know how the carpool lane works has always stuck with me. It might be time to re-watch that movie, speaking of...

  • @izza2 thinking of you for your results!

@LaceyBee522 I am, I have this warrior princess costume. I'm the odd one out in my family as DS is Thomas the Train and DH homemade this train costume to match! It was too late for me to get a matching one but at least I have something. I wasn't allowed to Trick or Treat as a kid so I'm making up for through DS!
Your night in sounds good too. Candy binge and watch a scary movie!
  • @doxiemoxie212 I'm not sure what kind of carpool lines you mean but we have HOV (high occupancy vehicle i.e. carpool) lanes on the highway. Or you can pay for a pass to use them even if you're solo.

What really grinds my gears is when I see people presumably on their way to drop off their kid using the carpool lane. Like you're kind of missing the point here! Those lanes are intended to encourage people to carpool, thus having fewer cars on the road. You and your toddler are not reducing traffic or the environmental impact.

Truth be told I will probably be that lady when I have a kid to drop off too.

  • Lol ugh! okay so I grew up in Marin county, outside San Francisco, and there are no school busses in the county. So, parents are encouraged to carpool so there are fewer cars, but there are still a ton of cars, and it's a county that was built mostly for horse and buggies, so the streets are not built to accommodate so many cars. So schools are really strict about carpool to try to make it more efficient. In the morning you have to get out of your car as quickly as you can (and only in a specific zone), and in the afternoon, everyone has to sit very quietly (VERY QUIETLY) and wait for the teacher with the bullhorn to call their name so you can get into your car. It takes a very long time and causes traffic for everyone in the county regardless of if they have children or not, lol. My mom and I were joking about this with DH, and he was like huh? Wut? Because he grew up in Manhattan.

So then when his parents came to visit us the other week in CA too, my mom and I were like haha DH doesn't know what a carpool line is. And his parents were like, uhhh we don't either? (Duh, they also grew up in Manhattan and Brooklyn.)

I was just completely shocked that people don't know about carpool lines and the madness involved. It was just so normal for me I figured it existed, in some form, everywhere. Nope!

DH really wants us to move back to Marin, but I'm already laughing about how many things are going to drive him completely insane.
  • @laceybee522 I don't normally dress up. Got my Lularoe Halloween leggings tho lol. But it's going to be so cold, the unicorn onesie I had doesn't sound half bad lol. DH has 2 onesies, Mario and a minion, he usually wears one.

@zamora_spin that's an interesting concept! I got to keep reminding myself that! Although... not sure what to make the crap I am eating. I've eaten more hot dogs in the past 3 wks, then I've eaten in 3 yrs. and these processed frozen mexican rolled things. Normal me would be so grossed out by pregnant me lol.
I will say I'm still eating my bigger bowl of spinach salad for lunch... which has slowly turned into all spinach and cheese cause everything I used is now gross lol.

@izza2 fingers crossed for your bloodwork!

@travelingcouple good luck with your progesterone check!

@krashke I know others have said it, but don't worry about what that book said. I didn't get nauseous with my son till 9/10 wks. And even then it was small waves and that's it. And my mom loves to tell us she didn't know she was pregnant with either of us till 3 months cause she wasn't sick at all. Everyone just handles it differently!

  • @izza2 Those sound like nice numbers for where you’re at, they do expect hCG will double more slowly, especially over 6k. Fx for you. Sorry you have to keep waiting for u/s.

    @doxiemoxie212 Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I think a lot of states have guidelines on testing pregnant women for things like STDs. So my guess is you can look for forward to more “duh” type results soon. Eta because words.
  • @doxiemoxie212 - I'm laughing way too hard, because the sad thing is that at my OB office, they get a urine sample every time you're there. They do a pregnancy test, and also do a protein panel or whatever. Every. Time.
I mean, I get the protein panel, but I feel like they're really just wasting a lot of pregnancy tests every day.

  • @doxiemoxie212 my doctor did blood type, CBC, pregnancy test.  I don't know if I got the syphillis and HIV tests this time around (I did last time).  Also FTMs get the cystic fibrosis test (but that might not be the first appointment).

  • @marcus7676 I am actually not getting any of the basic genetic tests done because I’m opting to do NIPT and I have had 23andme done (Doctors recommendation). So she was like we’re doing fewer blood vials than we normally would!
  • TW Y’all it’s been really nice being here with you. I thought the third time was the charm for me. Unfortunately my beta from yesterday was 1,290, down from 1,560 last Monday. Have been waiting all day for the RE’s office to call me back and tell me what they want me to do next but it doesn’t look good. End TW

I hope you all have the happiest and healthiest pregnancies and babies.
  • Oh no, @zamora_spin I am so sorry for your loss. I'm so sad to see you go. Take care of yourself.

  • @zamora_spin nooo this makes me so sad! I’m so sorry, girl. I don’t know what to say. Ugh. So many creepy internet hugs to you.
  • Noooo @zamora_spin I'm so sorry.

This week has been so heart breaking.   :'(
