@paigew123 I haven't had this pregnancy-related, but in the past, I've gotten charlie horses in my legs that were so bad they gave me black and blues.  Have you been having any leg cramping?  Maybe it's related?

@fatstagnation Yes definitely check with your GP. Also depending on your state you could have several sessions without a referral. (I’m in Georgia and we’re a self referral state.) Then perhaps the PT could talk with your OB and get a referral that way? Just a thought!

@fatstagnation, thanks! I should probably make a chiro appointment too. I went to one regularly in third trimester with DS. Maybe I need to start going already. My pelvis was so out of whack with him. Maybe early intervention will help this time. I should look for a pregnancy specialist physio. I'd feel more comfortable with that.

@fatstagnation @ashtuesday doc didn't seem to think it was pregnancy related. He said it sometimes happens if platelets are low, but mine were normal 4 weeks ago. He drew more blood to check it again, but after seeing the black and blue marks suggested I go see a hemotoligist to be on the safe side.
now that you mention getting black and blue marks from Charlie horse, maybe that's the case....I noticed them on my vacation where we were doing a ton of walking up and down hills which I'm not used to living in the city.
Ill go see the hemotoligist regardless, but they didn't have anything before 4 weeks from now.
    thanks for your concern though!

Ugh.. this constipation. Whole grains, fruit juice, nothing is helping. I just took a stool softener today. Pray for me, ladies.

@justkeeptrying I know it's a few days late but better late than never? I have a massager that's been a lifesaver these past few weeks. I've had it for years and I always feel immensely better after only a few minutes of using it. It kind of looks like ET. I don't know the name of it, but me and my husband call it "Thumper". Anyways, it works like a charm.

@sarahhedger7 I'm not sure what kind of fruit juice or whole grains, but the fruit juice may be a loss altogether and the whole grains need to have a pretty decent amount of fiber to fight constipation alone. Have you tried eating prunes? Like a handful of prunes? Eat a serving, drink some water, and tomorrow morning should feel better. If it doesn't, just repeat in the morning. Wishing you the best! Constipation sucks :frowning:

@justkeeptrying do you have a belly support band? If not, you can buy them at motherhood or on ebay. They are supposed to help with back pain. I used one the first time for constant cramping and it definitely was very supportive!

@sarahhedger7, I should ask my mom if she still has her massager. It's not exactly like ET (perfect description by the way) but similar.

@scoogy19, I don't have one. But my sister suggested that to me yesterday. She used one during her third pregnancy and found it really helpful. I am going to check this out and see what I can find.

@sarahhedger7 Maybe you could try probiotics? I have IBS-D and so constipation is usually not my issue, but it's been a problem the last few weeks. I started taking probiotics again (this brand specifically: https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Prenatal-Probiotic-Women/dp/B01LW2DZ5A) and it resolved itself almost immediately. I'm kicking myself now that I was lazy and didn't make the effort to remember to order more.

@sarahhedger7 I found that just upping whole grains without drinking more water actually made things worse. As I added even more water, then the whole grains helped get things moving.

@sarahhedger7 Struggling with the same issue over here and I’m honestly at a loss. I deal with this when NOT pregnant, but tenfold (because I can’t take anything) while pregnant. With DD I went 13 days without going at all once. At this point I’m lucky to go once a week— and not efficiently. I’ve tried prune smoothies (I can’t stomach prunes any other way) but they made me so sick, I’ve tried extra fiber + tons of water, fruit all day, walking, apple juice, etc. Going to try warm water + lemon and see if that does anything.. beyond that I’m SOL. Could try Colace, but it doesn’t do a thing for me when I’m not pregnant so I’m not convinced it’ll do a whole lot now. And the reason I’m not taking my usual Miralax is because it’s not great during pregnancy, but from what I’ve read Colace isn’t exactly “safe” either?? Just preferred over anything else.. So.... ahhh!!
