@sunshineandwhiskey I think pregnancy anxiety is legit. I'm in a similar boat. I've never spent a night away from DS and he half co sleeps (starts in his bed, comes into ours between 12-3am). We are trying to figure out where we can go for someone to stay with him overnight. (Or if we are ok with him sleeping at someone's house)
Seriously. It is crazy. I have anxiety when i'm not KU, but it is definitely amplified right now. Do you have family around that can help out? It is so stressful, all the unknowns
Me: 28 | Husband: 39 Married March 2016 DD: born 7.22.16 DS EDD: 6.23.18
I'm popping back in to add dizziness to my list! Almost fell over walking into the kitchen last night.
@Ash9614 and @sabby2 and all of you with the chicken food aversion: First, I'm sorry - it sounds so difficult, given how much chicken I know we eat in our household. And, second, I told MH about it, so he "forced" (read: kindly and insistently) requested that I make chicken cutlets for dinner last night before that effects me. So, a special thank you from him for the heads up.
@zamora_spin I've been having terrible muscle spasms in my back since last week. It was so bad Friday night I barely slept. I've never had them before, so default blaming it on pregnancy. They seem to have laid off so far yesterday and today, though.
I'm afraid reading all of these will give me placebo symptoms...
Sore boobs and fatigue beginning at week 5 and continuing to now (week 7 week 6, I'm an airhead), tiny bladder syndrome, occasional angry mood swings. Today is the first day when the thought of a specific food (what I brought for lunch, unfortunately) has caused my stomach to turn. I think I have slight metal-mouth. The thought of salt and pepper is making me sick.
@doxiemoxie212@meagster13@LaceyBee522 Thanks for the commiseration on the muscle spasms. I'm sorry you've had them too but it's making me feel better that it's "normal". TW loss - around week 5 of my first pregnancy I started to get constant spasms mostly in my calves. We learned later that was around when my pregnancy stopped developing. I was at my RE's office the same day I got a positive test this time for our follow-up and asked her about it and she indicated she thought it was likely to be sodium/potassium/ magnesium related and that if it happens in this pregnancy to call and get my bw done. end TW I did drink Pedialyte on Saturday and a little yesterday and that does seem to have calmed them down so for now I'm going to wait to see if how it goes before I ask them to check my levels. Again, thank you guys for reassuring me this is "normal". eta words
@llamamama212 - The remedy I have seen is B6 (one pill broken up throughout the day) and then take Unisom at night (might knock you on your butt). However, I would suggest if you are taking B6 you might also take extra B12 because they work together. I am taking B6 and B12, not for ms, but because I'm a vegetarian and I'm a bit paranoid about my levels. Good luck!
@Llamamama I took one of the B vitamins while pregnant with my DD. I think it helped a bit. I had thrown up a few times then my doctor prescribed that and I don't think I threw up after I started it. GL!

I am going to be a FTM and have been having horrible nausea and exhaustion. I have not vomitted but definitely feels like I could. It's usuallybdont when I wake up in the morning until about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I've tried sipping water, Gatorade, ginger ale, eating small meals and 3ven caving into my cravings. Nothing helps for more than 10 minutes or so. It's driving me crazy. I'm a nanny of a 2 and 6 year old and can't afford to miss work. I feel so run down and sick. Thanks for letting me vent.
@PatientlyWaiting10 and @zamora_spin thanks. The MS hasn't hit me yet (only 4 wks) but in my previous pregnancies I have it from 6-17 weeks. Trying to prepare for what's coming.
Nausea throughout the day, hot then cold then hot again, sore breasts, insomnia. Over the weekend I had excruciating nipple pain. I felt like I was being stabbed. A heating pad helped but at certain points it hurt so bad I lost my breath. Today, I have a migraine that won't quit. I was a pesco-vegetarian but lately I have not been able to eat fish at all because smells are starting to get to me. I will be looking into adding b6 and b12 to my daily routine.
Noooo fish. I find eggs are a good protein that I can manage @missylaneous419. Eggs in the a.m. keep me full which helps. MS is exacerbated by an empty stomach.
I guess I can add "weepy" to my list today. I was just scrolling through Etsy looking for announcement ideas for or parents and totally started crying. So embarrassing.
@sunshineandwhiskeyI definitely experience elevated levels of anxiety while pregnant. i have a diagnosed anxiety and panic disorder that is always harder to manage when pregnant.
@chocomom2, I'm also team pissed off left nipple. Except mine is because I gouged it this morning with my fingernail while in the shower because I'm not used to them being this big.
And this cramping can go away now. I've had to go check that I'm not bleeding multiple times today, and it's really not helping these anxiety levels. A little nausea set in today, but undermined if that's just because I was chopping up mouse tumor tissue or not. I hate that smell normally.
Me: 30 | DH: 31 Met: August 2006 Married: July 2012 TTC #1 since June 2016
Fuck the left nipples apparently. @icecubeinthedesert Sorry about the cramping. I know exactly what you mean about checking for blood & the anxiety in anticipation. I was out one day and drove all the way home instead of going to a public bathroom. I knew I couldn't handle it happening somewhere else again.
@chocomom2 and @bkrahn ... I almost peed myself about your nipples.. Lol
I'm right there with pretty much everyone... Let's see my list for this week so far and it's only Monday! Nauseated in the evenings? Check. Wanted to bash my DH face in for trying to take my ducks away? Check. Super weepy at pretty much everything I read (including and not limited to the menu at the restaurant at which I ordered lunch and dinner for the family) ? Yep. Sharp stabbing pains that feel like someone just electrocuted my inner hips/going area every time I cough, sneeze and sometimes fart? You got it! Oh and let's not forget the noxious( and I literally think these things could be bottled and sold in place of war time death gas) fumes emitting from my butt ALL. NIGHT. LONG. that are so loud and foul smelling they wake me up from my otherwise totally peaceful sleep? Yep. Peaceful sleep?? Who the eff am I lying too... Let's try oh I'm going to go to bed early in hopes of making up the sleep I lost because I A. Can't sleep for some weird reason (hmm pregnant much?) and B. My DD2 decided to wake up at 2am and sing to herself while rolling around until 4am.. But not instead I lay down get comfortable and oh! I need to pee. Repeat like 4 times over the next hour.. Finally fall asleep around midnight and suddenly... BRRRRRUMP.. WHAT. THE. EFF? Oh that's just my bum... Yep.. I'm definitely pregnant today. #pregnantlife lmao felt like it needed a hastag label today. That's how crazy I'm feeling.

Lol! Glad to help! We eat a lot of chicken around here as well, I just opt out when pregnant and eat the sides for those meals. I also try to eat more fish or beef dishes. Last time, I couldn't stand baked chicken the entire time, but fried chicken was fine in second and third trimesters - I think it is a texture thing…

Oh my gosh! I totally forgot about the chicken thing... What is it with the smell of cooking chicken when pg?? I haven't made any since a few days ago... But had to stand outside while everyone ate it... Except me. Thank the lord for crock pots or my family would be doomed to a chicken less next 7 months.
Seriously, chicken. Last night all it took was an Olive Garden commercial and I was gagging like crazy. Of course at work today, chicken strips. By lunchtime, chicken strips were okay but I couldn't even stand the thought of choosing BBQ pork.
@sabby - Do we work at the same place? My lunch at work yesterday was BBQ pork or chicken strips! I went with the pork because it smelled absolutely divine. It tasted absolutely horrible, and I was in tears about how unfair that is. #firstworldpregnancyproblems
So constipation is always one of the first symptoms for me. This time around is freaking awful. My stomach just sits like a rock after I eat and I almost always puke if I ate some form of protein. It’s like the food will just not digest. So I’ve been avoiding meat, because it just is not pleasant to bring back up. I have puked more in the last two weeks than I did with either of my other kids in total.
The only thing I’ve been able stomach well so far has been potatoes, rice and my old lady fiber cereal. Oh, and mint chocolate chip ice cream. I just have to eat about a quarter of what I usually do of everything. Started peppermint tea yesterday and that has been making me feel a little better after eat.
I’m taking fiber supplements as well and barely able to keep things moving. There’s not a ton of nausea that is not connected to my body not processing food. I know I need to switch to a fiber rich diet. We just went grocery shopping so I’m trying to make do with what we have until we go after our next payday.
Also been having heart palpitations and sore breasts. That’s pretty consistent with my other kids, but it still feels weird. I swear my 2 1/2 year-old is really ramping up the nursing right now and for now it’s not awful. But I hope it doesn’t last all nine months.
Oh, and my chocolate chip muffin from Costco I shared with my sister-in-law tasted like blood. Mostly iron, but it made me think of blood which made me gag which meant I couldn’t eat it. We split one of the 12 packs with my SIL, so my husband has won the muffin lottery this week for breakfast. They never last this long at our house.
@katie121209 oh my gosh - chicken pot pie sounds amazing! Right now, anyways
Looks like this pregnancy is following in my first pregnancy's footsteps. 20 minutes after I finish my breakfast, I'm in the bathroom throwing it back up. Poor DD stands beside me traumatized, not knowing what's happening to her mama. Then the nausea goes away until evening.
Also these hormones are turning me into a crazy lady. I can cry on cue, at absolutely anything.
@morristhecatmom I've been dealing with awful constipation for the past week. My mom (who doesn't know I'm pregnant) suggested Magnesium Citrate. I googled and it comes back as safe for pregnant women, so I've been taking it. It seems to help a lot. Definitely check with your doc, but it might really help. Either way, I hope it gets better for you soon.
ETA: @emjeve The weepiness continues! I definitely cried at the Today Show and commercials this morning. I am currently on the verge of tears over an issue at work, but holding it together....we'll see how long it lasts.
I'm also on the weepiness train. Almost started crying watching the news last night because they mentioned something that was made in the state I currently live in helping someone (I honestly can't remember the details because it was stupid). And I didn't grow up here and don't feel a strong attachment to this state, so WTF.
So these cramps are seriously killing me. Anyone else find that they get them really bad when they need to poop or are gassy? It's like they instantly go away once I go to the bathroom.
Me: 30 | DH: 31 Met: August 2006 Married: July 2012 TTC #1 since June 2016
@icecubeinthedesert I've had cramping constantly since last night. It is so irritating. I don't know if it is normal or if I should be concerned. I've tried calling my CC and no freakin' answer...
Morning sickness has been in full swing the past few days. Ive had toast for most of my meals and it still takes 30 minutes to get through it without throwing it back up. Other than that I've been really achy all over. I am missing my hot baths right about now!
Some nausea kicked in last night and then again this morning. Nothing crazy but enough to make me want to sit around doing nothing.
With my daughter my only craving was meat, liie I ate SO much steak during my last pregnancy. I'm starting to feel like it's coming back. Chicken and steak, that's all I want.
@icecubeinthedesert +1 to the cramps! Esp in the morning before I poop. And when i've been standing for a long time (teacher life). Its so nerve wracking
Me: 28 | Husband: 39 Married March 2016 DD: born 7.22.16 DS EDD: 6.23.18
@bkrahn@emjeve and anyone else who said that they’re having round ligaments pain...with my 2nd pregnancy I remember feeling it ridiculously early (and am again at times) and I said to my OB, “I know it can’t be this yet because it’s sooo early..” and she said it definitely is and you experience everything earlier with each subsequent pregnancy. Still so insane!!!!
So I am waking up in the middle of the night nauseous and feel fine during the day. I actually feel really hot and undress from PJs and throw the blanket off, turn on the fan and open the windows meanwhile DH is shivering under goosedawn blanket. I am not just hot but thirsty - so I grab water in the middle of the night and then can't sleep from 2-4. I am not even feeling tired, just awake like I should be during the day and actually find this time to use bathroom to do #2... that BM cycle is totally off as I have never been a night pooper. I also have mild headaches in the morning but they go away. During the day nausea is not too bad and I eat ok but some smells definitely bother me and I nearly puked as I was in close proximity to a homeless person (but then again many people are bothered by that smell even when not pregnant)
@cupcakeforme I've been going through the same! Wake up hot and parched and cannot fall back asleep. I toss and turn and cannot get myself to feel tired even though I feel exhausted all day. My BM's are ninjas, though. They creep up unexpectedly after being elusive for too long.
@RatParade I was team hot flashes for the first few weeks, but now I'm team can't-temperature-regulate-for-my-life. If it gets slightly colder I'm freeeeezing, if it gets slightly hotter I'm buuuuurning. It's annoying.
