If we start tomorrow I think it'll be 8,9,10,11, and 12 weeks roughly. And of course people are free to flow about. I don't think we'll be all "you can't sit here" lol
Ok so people will have to decide where the best fit if they fall in between weeks. What are we calling these posts "Weekly Check In - # weeks" ?
Yeah, that sounds good to me
10 week check in 10/16 - Maybe something like that so that it's not confusing for the next week
@mileswithmyles@silverhope@ivyvines6. No technically the start of this whole poll was the discussion of doing away with ticker changes. If we have that plus weeks check ins I suspect that will get insanely cluttered. Of course I'm just one person but not many people voted to keep ticker changes and I think at this point we should go majority rules. Again, just one person so I can't dictate the threads people start so in the end do what you want but this poll was to do away with ticker changes in place of the weeks check in if enough people wanted that.
While I agree with @charlestonchew about the week changes replacing the day of the week ticker changes, I'm a little sad to not have a daily check in. So, I say let's try all of it for a week or two and see what happens. Maybe let's do the week changes on Mondays, a daily check in every other day, and people can keep the day of the week ticker changes, too. You obviously don't have to participate in the ones you don't want, so I say let's just give it try and we can figure it out from there. Does that sound okay with everyone?

@sandbar517 do you not think that will have the board in complete disarray? I'm about to get ready for work so I won't be able to come back much until the evening but like, what was the point of the poll then? Just my parting comment and food for thought.
@charlestonchew, Yeah it might get a little overwhelming, but it seems like having more of these types of threads will help eliminate a lot of the others, no? And if you look at the numbers, almost the same amount of people (27 total) want daily check ins, the only difference being whether they want them along with day of the week ticker changes, weekly check ins, or daily check ins only. Only 5 people voted to keep it as is, and it seems like everyone else is split almost completely down the middle. I just think it can't hurt to try, and if it turns into a dumpster fire and everyone hates it, we can always change it later and get rid of the threads that don't get as much traffic. If the day of the week ticker changes start to die out, we can drop them, or if the daily check in only has three people participating, we can get rid of it. Thoughts from anyone else?

It, honestly, doesn't matter to me what we decide to keep and do away with. One thought I have is that some people were talking about how slow the board is. Would it help pick things up with we did both the ticker changes and the week check-ins? No big deal either way to me. Just a thought.
I’m of the mindset that if anyone wants to start a thread that’s applicable to the community, that’s fine. Dailies and ticker changes fall under that category. TBH I wasn’t totally clear that these were replacing ticker changes. I thought these were additional ways to make the larger community smaller/more manageable.
As far as cluttering the board, I don’t think it will be an issue. I thought the idea was that we wanted the board to be more active, which would mean potentially more threads or activity on threads.
So, I just did the Week Check ins, hope everyone is okay with that. I put on the 8 weeks one since it was the first one, that I'm not entirely sure my weeks are correct, so let me know if they aren't. Also, please give input on the questions. Do you like them, want different ones?

I'm so confused haha. I tend to like the weekly check in (e.g., Thursday ticker change). I struggle with randoms because I can't be on at work a ton and then it's so hard to catch up. My first pregnancy we did the ticker changes, some of the other big threads (eating, STM, PGAL, etc.) and then people posted their random questions as threads. It's more stuff but also easier to weigh in on things you care about or know something about.
But, I'm cool with whatever! I'm trying to be a regular as much as I can but darn work.
Also, other people are definitely going to have to take over on starting "their" week change, there is no way I can think of 5 GTKYs in a row every Monday!

Thank you! People won't be posting in multiple threads, so it can probably be the same GTKY for all of them, but you still shouldn't have to start them each week!
People seem confused as to which one to post in. I was under the impression that it was the number of weeks you were "turning" that week. So, if you are turning 12 weeks in the next 6 days, post in the 12 weeks thread. I guess it doesn't really matter and people can post wherever they feel like though.
I think it was intended to be people who are anywhere from 10 weeks to 10 weeks 6 days on that Monday post in that week. But yeah, there obviously are no hard and fast rules, and people can post wherever. We're all just trying to figure this out together LOL

By that definition, no one due in May would be 12 weeks yet, so I'd feel bad for the couple of people due April 30 who are part of this board. I'll stick in 12 weeks to keep them company since I'm due May 1!
Oh, geez, I didn't even count to find out which weeks to include, I just went with what @charlestonchew said she thought the weeks were supposed to be. So I guess next week we'll just do 9, 10, 11, and 12 weeks? I don't want to leave anyone out, though, either!

Nah, I think it works fine as is and people can choose where they feel more comfortable. I'm so excited to finally be 12 weeks tomorrow that I don't want to post in 11 weeks! Haha.
@sandbar517, I posted in the 8 weeks one. I'm 7 weeks 6 days today, so I went to that one since I'll be 8 tomorrow. I don't want to be 7 weeks when some of you are 12 weeks!! It makes me fee SO far away from everyone!
I also didn't completely get that this was instead of ticker changes, but I can see the logic. I guess the only advantage of a ticker change is you can find people who actually are your due date twin, but maybe that's something that can be included in the weekly ones.
I am also a little sad that people didn't want the daily thread, I thought it was a good idea! We have randoms, but they are only weekly not daily.
Like I pointed out, there were almost the exact same number of people who wanted a daily check in as there were that didn't. So I say go ahead and start one. The people who want to post can, and other people can just ignore it. Not sure if we need one on Monday, though, since there are so many other posts that get started on Mondays.

Also, I don't know how the questions are determined but I'd like to suggest that the weekly check in posts have what your due date is as one of the questions for those.
As far as the weeks go, I tried to calculate how far along the last date and the first date of the month were and I just saw that was about 5 weeks difference. If I screwed it up and didn't include someone, I apologize. In reality though you can join whatever group you want. Whatever people are comfortable with.
Not to give June credit for doing something good other than stirring up drama or anything, but maybe their "Due Date Check-in: First Week of June (6/1 - 6/7)" format would be less confusing than our "8 Weeks," "9 Weeks," etc system?
Due Date Check-in: First Week of May (5/1-5/7) Due Date Check-in: Second Week of May (5/8-5/14) Due Date Check-in: Third Week of May (5/15-5/21) Due Date Check-in: Fourth Week of May (5/22-5/28) Due Date Check-in: Fifth Week of May (5/29-5/31)
(Maybe combine the last two?) End of April people would obviously fit in the first group.
abhphilly Actual weeks. Then those of us who are April 29th,30th can be included. A bunch of us had our due dates adjusted for measuring ahead. Thanks for doing this.
Due Dates for May: First Week of May 4/29-5/5 Second Week of May 5/6-5/12 Third Week of May 5/13-5/19 Fourth Week of May 5/20-5/26 Fifth Week of May 5/27-6/2
Morning ladies. Any feedback on how the Daily threads are going? I must say I was very excited about them as I thought it would be a place for everyone to just breathe and really get to know each other. I didn't think it would be so structured in terms of the questions, which in my opinion limits free flowing conversation. It also makes it feel like work having to keep up with so many similarly structured threads. Is there no way the daily thread could just be a 'how is everyone doing today' thread? It doesn't have to be restarted every day as that interrupts the flow of conversation? Or it that just a copy of the weekly randoms thread? Or symptoms and appointments thread?

I don't see the need with a weekly randoms thread... This format is too stressful, and if I'm being honest, I end up skimming over most things while I'm trying to catch up because it's not an organic conversation.
