Hubs is out of town. I am excited for him because this is a once in a lifetime type trip but also... I bought a huge obnoxious inflatable Halloween decoration for our front yard. He is going to hate it. So... yup. Sorry, not sorry.
@spottedginger Where did YH go? Also, post a pic of your annoying Halloween inflatable!
My random: We went to Baltimore tonight and I saw a rat! I always get excited when I see rats in the city. Is that weird? I think it's the small town Montana girl in me coming out to to say "Yasss! I'm in a real city!" Also, I have to read a book or play on my phone while DH drives otherwise I hyperventilate at the city driving.
@jrm_14 We did! I was supposed to go to the UK for a work conference last month but it was cancelled. Ever since I've been craving fish and chips. So tonight DH took me to an Irish pub and I got a hard cider to go along with my fish and chips. yum!
@offtoneverland@jrm_14 I haven’t set it up yet but am going to try to carve out time. It is a mickey dressed up as a vampire. I realize now as I look at the box that is it only 3.5 feet tall. Maybe I should go back and get the Minnie too.
@offtoneverland. We went out for dinner this evening, too! We went with another couple. The wife got drunk (4pm dinner) and told a secret about the husband in front of him. It was awwwwk-ward, lol. I kind of suspected what she said, but I think he was pretty upset she said it out loud in front of Mh and me.
@spottedginger. It wasn’t too juicy of a secret. We were talking about my cat and her getting high in catnip. The wife goes, “My husband gets high....but not on catnip!”
ETA: My kitten high on catnip. (Left picture is her on the nip. Right is for pupil size comparison)
@spottedginger. No judgement from me towards him. I think it is pretty important to his career to keep that under wraps, though. I guess one could argue, then, he shouldn’t do it if it’s that important. Meh, his choice.
@spottedginger, I love those inflatable decorations! Just promise you won’t let it sit half-deflated on your lawn looking all dejected, because it makes me sad when I see ones like that.
@offtoneverland, I love fish and chips! DH and I actually both got pretty sick of fish and chips on our honeymoon in the UK, but since we got home I order them at pretty much every opportunity out of nostalgia...
My cat is a weirdo- he's just not interested in catnip. I bought him and the dog new toys while I was shopping, and my dog loves his toy. The cat is totally disinterested in his. He's also kind of an asshole.
I did major retail therapy today. I got a jacket, a sweater, shirts for DH, and undies at the Gap. A sweater and a blouse at Banana Republic. Foundation, fancy concealer, a moisturizer, and a primer at Sephora. A new blowdryer and one of those silicone makeup applicators at Harmon's. And a new pan for making a tarte tatin tomorrow night.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@jsnakehole. Whoa! That sounds like some serious retail therapy! I was thinking to myself this evening that I wish I could shop my worries away like I did when I was single. Off to google tarte tatin.
@jrm_14 thanks! I try to be respectful and sensitive because there have been a couple discussions about when people belong in BOTB vs here and I don’t want to rub people the wrong way or disrespect established board culture. I just love the ladies here.
@jsnakehole. I read somewhere that the many cats are not actually impacted by catnip. My sister had a cat that was a total asshole. He even peed in her wedding dress in true asshat fashion.
@jrm_14 Did he pee on the dress before or after the wedding? That's awful! Glad you had a nice dinner tonight, apart from the awkward moment... @Augusta108@spottedginger A house near us has like 30 inflatables and I get so sad seeing them during the day. I think one or two deflated ones during the day is fine, but tons of them is just depressing. Like a little cemetery for broken lawn toys. @spottedginger I agree with @jrm_14...get the Minnie mouse inflatable too!
@offtoneverland. After, thank goodness. That cat would attack you out of nowhere. He was a jerk face. And um glad you agree that when doubt, but another inflatable
@jrm_14 We don’t get nearly as many! Maybe 100. The market was good! We got everything we went for and only went over budget a wee bit and finally found bar stools for ourselves.
@spottedginger I want one of those inflatables too but I don’t think DH is into. Maybe next year I’ll convince him...
@jsnakehole I also had a cat that was oddly not interested in catnip, or really anything for that matter. He was fairly large and lazy. Also, I am so jealous of your retail therapy! I just bought a few things from this really great online boutique called One Loved Babe. Highly recommend that site ladies!
@jrm_14 I can’t believe you had that many trick-or-treaters! I love giving out candy but it seems like each year we get less and less kids coming around. And we’re in a nice residential area so I don’t get it. I think I went through one bag of candy last year.
@SkilledSailor total dog person here too! We had a cat years ago when we were in an apartment and it just destroyed so much stuff!
Bahaha, latest terrible "horror" movie watched the Babysitter, another Netflix original. It is so bad it's hilarious. I just about pee'd myself laughing. Super bloody/gory over the top ridiculous.

People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

MH and I have started binge watching the new netflix show Mindhunter, and it's great! Highly recommend. It's about the start of the psychological profiling program at the FBI and gets into motivations of criminals and serial killers.
I set up Mickey and Minnie. I had envisioned them as being a bit bigger but that’s ok. I got them all ready to go just as it started to rain so no pics.
@darkstar42 My H was just asking me about watching that! I'm partly fascinated by the concept and partly terrified. It's still likely to be our next binge so I'm glad to hear you're liking it.
