@doxiemoxie212@emjeve I guess I should have prefaced my post with I am acne prone (obvi), oily and not sensitive. I use the deep pore cleansing or acne brush heads and I have never had an issue with it. I do clean it with antibacterial soap after I use it and replace the brush head every 4-5 months.
I love Drunk Elephant too but only in the winter. Normally I use the Ole Henricksen Sheer Transformation.

@krashke yea, for me it caused it within like a week, and I read online at the time I should see if my skin acclimates to it. I tried switching to a gentler brush, nada. Just got worse. Finally went to a dermatologist and she was like nope, don't use it, your skin does not like it! Lol. Moral of the story: just stop using stuff if your skin doesn't like it. I hope it works for you @emjeve; I'm still sad I can't use it.
@sunshineandwhiskey have you been to a derm? Cystic acne is nearly impossible to treat with OTC treatments, from my experience. I went to the derm though and it was fixed, no joke, within a week. I wish I'd gone sooner!
@doxiemoxie212 I haven’t! I’ve been trying everything and anything else I could. You’ve just motivated me to go. When I was in HS my mom always refused to take me because she believed “they never did any good.” And so that was always just stuck in my head

Be careful with any acne washes. Most are not safe in pregnancy. I just switched mine.
I use an oil cleanser first and am now following up with cetaphil. I use a pH balancing toner and a good moisturizer I buy from the spa at my hospital. I like to throw in a sheet mask or clay mask a few times a weeks and a gentle exfoliater a couple times a week too.
I have very acne prone and reactive skin and this is working well for me so far.
I also use an oil cleanser! I use the Sunday Riley CEO one.
And the Pharmacy sheet masks are my fav that I've tried - many have too much fragrance for me. Even Pharmacy is close to too much fragrance. Anyone found any good fragrance free sheet masks?
I have never dealt with acne (other than the occasional pimple before AF) but I am curious as to the cause of it? Is it allergy? food related (like a change in diet may resolve it? hormonal? I'm just interested in what you ladies might know from your journey to resolving it!
Again, totally a personal choice. Just wanted to share for anyone who might be considering swapping face products! My OB has always been cool with my 2% salicylic acid, but I know all docs are different.

@MoonOverGoldsboro oh I have dry skin so those types never helped me. What worked for me was Rx sulfacetamide (sp?) which I'm not sure is safe for pregnancy but luckily solved my acne so I no longer needed to use it.
4. This one is a more personal issue regarding announcing the pregnancy (albeit this won't happen for another 6 weeks): I'm the only married friend, the first to get engaged, the first to get pregnant, the first to get a house, everyday I listen to my close (and even best friend) complain about their long term boy friends not proposing and not being ready to make moves in the relationship. I am also the youngest friend by more than 2 years. Literally, I told my friends my cousin (whose 5 years younger than me) was pregnant (she's also married already) and 2 them got upset and said that they feel like they are never going to have a family. I'm afraid telling my friends, while they will be happy for me, will just be another thing for them to be upset about with their relationships. I even asked DH if one bf was planning on proposing soon because I want my friends to have some good news and be satisfied with the progress in their relationship. DH seems to think I'm worrying to much about how other people would feel. Am I?
Care less. You have some shi*Ty friends. Seriously, got upset and then made it about them to have a pity party for "never going to get a family" ? how about "congratulations!" ? F'em
Question: today I am 6weeks + 5days pregnant. Do the "+5" belongs to week 6 or to week 7?? Technically, week 6 has been completed so should be 5 days of the 7th week? When I read things online I'm not sure if I should be reading 6 weeks or 7 weeks posts. Does anyone know?
knottie1d8638fb3fce9f73 This confused me as well my entire pregnancy with DD. When I asked friends about it, they looked at me like I had 6 heads. When I am 6 weeks + 5 days, I read things related to 6 weeks. I am 4 weeks 6 days, and both the apps I use automatically give me information about week 4.
@ knotie + a whole bunch of numbers and letters: The way you said it first is correct. 6 weeks and 5 days. You are not 7 weeks yet. Stick with the information that coincides with your first number: 6. And change over to the next stage when the first part starts with 7.
@cupcakeforme Do you have any idea what empathy is? What do you mean "f-em"? OP was considering how others feel before sharing her good news. I think that is considerate. Based on this comment and the crap you spouted in FFFC, it is certainly clear the only person you ever consider is yourself.
I have combination sensitive skin and had bad acne growing up. I was on Accutane as a teen, which cleared it up for a few years. Then when I moved to the states it was coming back pretty bad. I was able to clear it up with a line of skincare products called Skin by Pom (looks like they are re-branding and becoming The Skincare Company). I used the green tea cleanser twice daily and alternated the retinol and salicyclic acid lotions every night. Within a couple of months I was blemish-free. Now I just use Paula's Choice Skin Recovery cleanser twice a day and I moisturize with jojoba with tea tree oil mixed in. I've been clear ever since.
ETA: No idea if these products are safe during pregnancy so I would check with your OB/GYN if you're interested in them.
Just to go off of something @silvergreen said - do be careful with skin care products (especially acne treatments) during pregnancy.
Excessive vitamin A causes birth defects. Although small amounts of Vitamin A (sometimes it might be listed as Retinol or Retinyl Palmitate) on the skin is probably not a big deal (like if it's way far down a big list of ingredients), a lot of skincare products rely heavily on vitamin A - especially anti-aging and acne products. Just be careful mammas!
