Take it with a grain of salt because ya know it's Google and I'm not a doctor but I found chamomile is iffy, hibiscus is a no go, and chicory root is also no good.
@sabby2 Those are interesting! I wonder why? I am not a tea drinker, but it's always interesting to hear about those things.

Major TW - loss, especially for twin moms: In the February BMB, one twin mom just lost a twin due to complications of TTTS. Another mom is struggling with another scary condition (info in this week's Randoms thread). They're all hurting. They mentioned how terrible of a time it would be for a drive by so I made a love shower for them. Would you mind swinging by with a love/support themed gif?

@doxiemoxie212 and @sunshineandwhiskey... I did some extensive Google research last night because I too was doubtful of my doppler hearing thing... And I now think it must have been one of my arteries or something. Anyway it was wishful thinking. Oh well.
DH has now told 2 people IRL that he works with that I am pregnant. I'm glad he's feeling like it's real enough to talk about with others but am jealous because I want to tell someone IRL!

Speaking of telling people I was going to ask this today. It's kind a specific personal situation so if anyone has suggestions I will take them but I mostly just need to vent.
A good friend of ours knows we were TTGP and I saw her last Sunday, just after my first VFP but did not tell her because I hadn't even told MH yet. So I told her that I didn't know yet and was waiting to miss AF this week. Well we are going to see her tomorrow and I know she will ask about it and I'm not ready to tell her but I don't want to straight up lie to her.
I also feel like it's important for our parents to know first and we are going to tell them in person at Thanksgiving.
So like I said if you have a suggestion, maybe a line you've used in a similar situation that would be great.

@krashke you could always say something like, “I am going to take a test this week to see what it says!” Then just pee on a stick at some point this week and you technically did not lie - you just didn’t mention that you have already taken one
@krashke DH has lied if straight up asked. I have told if straight up asked. I'm sorry I'm not more help lol.
Thankfully I was only straight up asked by my BFF. DH was asked by some coworkers.
My rule for any people I tell early is don't tell anyone, and if you do tell anyone and I miscarry, they better feel the weight of that jinx shame and be responsible for un-telling. Saying this explicitly freaks people out an appropriate amount, IMO.
@krashke ~ I had a similar situation last week with my BFF. And I just used subtle language that implied we were still trying and hoping for next month. “Only time will tell. We will see what happens next month”. She didn’t straight up ask me though.
My random is that my MIL is coming into town tonight and she will be staying with us until Sunday evening. And we aren’t telling her yet. But I am exhausted and starting to battle moments of nausea. Oh and my boobs are ginormous. I hope she doesn’t catch on. We are not ready for anyone to know. ESPECIALLY not her. She is literally the reason we aren’t telling anyone early this time.
@doxiemoxie212 Is this the weekend you see your mom and will tell her?! SO exciting!!

I have two more surprises, keep your breathing under control. Do you need a face mask?" Sigh. Not exaaaactly the best circumstances to tell her under but I think she'll be excited right up until it clicks and then she'll be like, "are you stupid? You're pregnant?? Why did you come here! There's an apocalypse nearby!"

@doxiemoxie212 ~ Yes we are fine. The winds keep shifting which either sends us smoke or clears it out. It’s so crazy to be watching all of it. DH grew up in the bay area (I’m from the central coast). It’s hitting very close to home watching all the deviation.
Tw- I had a loss after Dd, before Ds, around 5 weeks. I'm 5 week this week and I can't enjoy this pregnancy yet because I'm worried that as soon as I start to enjoy it I'll lose the baby. Ugh. It doesn't help that I have no symptoms, and I usually get terrible morning sickness. But I can't remember when it started last time, so maybe it's just too early. Also, as a weird coping mechanism, I'm telling myself that if something does happen and I have a mc, I will be able to have a rum and coke. It's a terrible consolation prize, but it is the only silver lining I can think of. Anyone else driving themselves crazy?
@May14th2011 TW yes I have been working myself up in a panic multiple times now. So bad that I had convinced myself I had a mmc and the progesterone I am on was just delaying the inevitable. My anxiety is out of control. So far this whole pregnancy is way different than any other and I try to take that as a good sign. I’m hoping the u/s helps me relax a little.
Glad to hear that as I am on a hunt right now. My company just did massive layoffs and had to adhere to WARN act and give us 60 day notice. So yeah, I have until December 4th and starting to do interviews. At least I am not showing.
@May14th2011 Yes! The two symptoms I've had (sore breasts and nasal congestion) have dissipated in the past couple days and I'm only 4 weeks so I'm driving myself crazy. I hardly had any symptoms with DD so I'm trying to tell myself all is ok and this will just be an easy pregnancy like my first one. Seriously cannot wait until my 8 week appointment. Fingers crossed for all of us!
@oneblessedmess same! My symptoms have come and gone so much in the past week ish that I've known and it's driving me crazy. Today I've had a hear ache and vague queasiness off and on. Last week I was super nauseous and gaggy. My boobs remain slightly sore and I have bloat from hell so I remain hopeful yet anxious.
I want to be excited about my pregnancy but my partner is still pressuring me to abort. I got pregnant on bcp and spermicide films so I understand this is a surprise. I was really scared at first, but i did my first pregnancy alone and know i can totally do this.
@notaknottie912 I am so sorry that you’re being pressured by your partner to do something you don’t want to do. You’re right, you can totally do this! Do you have any family that was supportive during your last pregnancy that you can turn to?
@notaknottie912 I am so sorry you are dealing with a surprise pregnancy effectively alone. I hope you have a support network outside of your partner but we are here for you too.
