  • @curleemama32 MH texted me once to see how I was doing and I said terrible.  He said sorry, I said I would say it's not your fault, but it kinda is.  He said, Yeah I guess so.  I said, You guess?  If it's not your fault, I'm in big trouble! LOL

  • @curleemama32 you are so right! I swear as soon as the pee stick dries, my husband starts actively trying to be a jerk. He's normally pretty good about most things but when I'm pregnant, I think he forgets how to clean up after himself and not say dumb stuff.
  • @sarahjean177 ugh yes it absolutely sucks. I totally dread brushing my teeth every morning because I can't stand the inevitable fit of gagging. And yes it's only every morning right now because I can't stand going through that twice a day. Judge away world.

So my boobs have definitely been getting bigger, but I noticed this weekend that my right boob has gotten WAY bigger than my left!! Right now my bra and shirt feel weirdly too tight on that side only. I am not pleased. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yesterday, I told my friends I wanted to find a cave and hibernate for the rest of first tri.  Just remember, today you are pregnant.  Hugs to you.
That sounds lovely. Sign me up.  :p
  • I just want to drink water!!!! Sorry. Had to let that out. But seriously every time I drink more than a sip or two I start puking it and everything I eat up. It's so frustrating!!
  • I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and have really had very mild nausea if intense food aversions but I felt hungry for the first time today in weeks. Like actual hunger even though I'd eaten a few hours before. And no nausea. Just had an U/S Friday so pretty sure everything's okay but do symptoms disappear this early? I didn't believe you vanishing symptoms people Til it happened!

  • Ugh I don’t think my body is liking the progesterone supplement this pregnancy. I took one (suppository) for the first time last night and woke up an hour or so later with terrible cramps. Gas maybe? Tonight woke up after about an hour or so again and felt so so so nauseous. Am still trying to get rid of the feeling so I can go back to bed.

I took it last pregnancy with no problems. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
  • @arteduc8 I've heard of avoiding salicylic acid, but never benzoyl peroxide.  I've actually heard that it should be the "safe" alternative, and that's what I'm using now.  Do you know why we should avoid it?

  • @MrT723 This is my 3rd time taking progesterone, though I've always been on the prometrium orally. With DS and the m/c after I took tiny liqui-gel type capsules that looked like spheres of vitamin E (they were the same clear yellow color and approximately the same size) and had no issues at all.

now, prometrium is the same capsule for oral and vaginal suppository use. it's huge and sticky is there is any humidity. It's taken me 3 weeks to get it to the point where I've figured out how to swallow them without them sticking in my throat and leading to coughing an gagging for 20 minutes the next morning to clear the "congestion" in my throat from it... boo. I'm also waaaaaay more nauseous from it this time (missed 2 days because I fell asleep before taking them and the morning after the second skipped pill I felt about 300% better, started taking them again and back to the nausea)

I know each pregnancy is different, and this is my first time taking it in 6 years so who knows how my body and the drugs have changed. Oh well, I've only got 2-3 weeks left. Sorry, I can't remember how far along you are right now, but fx you find some way to... deal? overcome? survive? lol I'm not sure which one applies, but I feel like it's survive... and that you don't have too much longer left

  • QUESTION:  Lately after I have any kind of processed carb or fruit juice I get a wave of extreme fatigue, nausea, and heart palpitations.   So, I have cut out most processed carbs, juices, and limited the fruit intake.  Is this something that warrants a call to my OB?  (I'm 11 weeks)  I just figured I should stop eating those things because they are not agreeing with me. Has this happened to anyone else?
  • My nausea and palpitations definitely come in waves (I haven't noticed a ton of fatigue, thankfully), but I haven't tied it to any specific cause.  It makes sense that something that is high in sugar or carbs would have that affect on you, and as long as it's stopped since you have cut those things out of your diet, I personally wouldn't be too worried. But if it makes you feel better, definitely mention it to your OB.

  • @ladystinson I will be 7 weeks tomorrow and will most likely be on it until 14 weeks. I think it just made me so mad because it has been interrupting my precious sleep! My OB is supposed to call today to go over my test results so I’ll ask her for advice. I had a feeling I will have to “just power through” but was praying there was some miracle cure I didn’t know about  ;)
  • @MrT723 oh I understand that! with my son it would be soooooo nauseous in the morning if I took it without eating something. One night I happened to eat a piece of toast with peanut butter shortly before bed and I wasn't nauseous in the morning so I tried it again the next night, same thing! it's worth a shot, maybe it'll help with the nausea (though as I'm typing this I'm remembering you're on suppositories...... maybe see about oral depending on your results? I'm clueless too lol)

    Good luck!

I have found varying information. If I remember correctly, during my last pregnancy, my Dr said it was ok in the lowest dose only as needed. That concerned me so err on the side of caution. This pretty much sums it up:

    OTC Benzoyl Peroxide

The safety of using benzoyl peroxide during pregnancy remains a concern. BP works by killing acne bacteria deep within the skin and is found in concentrations of 2.5%, 5%, and 10% in topical creams and gels. There are also prescription forms of BP or combinations of BP with other active agents that you can get from your doctor.

Here are the two sides of the debate for benzoyl peroxide and pregnancy safety:

Benzoyl peroxide is commonly used: Currently, there are no case reports about benzoyl peroxide and birth defects in research studies. So far it appears there is a low risk to the unborn child.

    However…

Benzoyl peroxide is a category C drug: So far, there have been no studies on humans or animals that show risk correlations between benzoyl peroxide and pregnancy. This means the risk is still unknown. About 5% of each topical dose is absorbed systemically. It is unknown if BP passes into breast milk.

Make sure you consult with your doctor about taking BP safely.

  • @arteduc8 Thanks for the info!

  • So much gas. Like why?

also experienced heart burn last night- I had THE WORST heartburn last time, but it didn't start this early. Praying to god this was just regular ol heartburn rather than pregnancy related bc I do not want to go through that again.
  • @sharkmama39 my has faded now, but my heartburn the first few weeks this time was insanity. I couldn't eat, but if I didn't it was worse, I had a hard time sleeping, even water burned my throat. I don't know why, or if it would work for anyone else, but orange sherbet killed it instantly! just a spoonful or two (or a bowl because it's delicious!) and I would actually be able to eat and sleep again!

  • First time nausea hit me at work and I'm a school teacher, meaning I can't leave my classroom for the bathroom...spent the whole afternoon trying not to throw up... bring on the crackers and ginger ale...thank god my free period is the last period of the day...I just sit and stare, no work ever ends up getting done.

    I don't understand why I'm stuck in a box...

@justsuzie Can't say I can recall anything exactly like this happening to me, but I pretty much live in the fatigue zone 92.5% of the time. I would definitely suggest asking for an early glucose test if you can link it back to items with sugars in them. But as @sandbar517 said, probably ok for now if you can control with diet

  • I have occasional palpitations and I still have the weirdest, messed up dreams almost every night. Hoping these bad dreams do not last the rest of the pregnancy.
  • AFM, I just burped and tasted stomach acid. You know what that means, long road ahead for indigestion in the 2nd and 3rd tri

  • New low for me: I just bought ensure shakes so I can eat something. I haven't gained any weight so far, which I'm sure is fine from a medical standpoint, but I'm starving while puking it all up, or I'll start eating then I'll be too nauseous to take more than a few bites. I've got to get nutrition somehow outside of vitamins...

The last few days my acne (which I have struggled with for a long time...I have pcos) is beginning to act up. Anyone else dealing with this?!
So far my skin hasn't gone crazy this pregnancy. Just a few blemishes but mostly on my chest. However, my skin was worse than the teenagers' that I teach during my last pregnancy and I've always had good skin. And you aren't supposed to use salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide products. If you find a treatment that is safe and works, please share!
Thanks for the reply! It's so frustrating, it makes me feel really down. I am keeping fingers and toes crossed it may ease up once the first trimester ends (I am 8 weeks 4 days).
  • @ivyvines6 I drank ensure when I was pregnant with my girls because I worked in the ER and there were a lot of times when I couldn't just sit down and eat a full meal, and they worked wonders.  Made me feel not hungry, but not overly full either.  Bought some with this pregnancy because the nausea was so bad a few weeks ago, and they taste terrible to me this time around!  Really metallic-y but super sweet at the same time, and made my nausea worse.
