I just wanted to do a general check in see how everyone is feeling?!
Are you still working?
How do you feel about preparations for baby? All done? Still a lot left?
What about if you have others kiddos and adding another?(something im personally stressing about)
First time moms, how are you feeling about everything?
What about your DH/SO how are they doing?

Re: How are you feeling?!

  • I'm doing okay. Exhausted, rls, less sleep, ribs hurting, baby's descending so I'm peeing a lot. We have a little bit left to do to get ready for him but we have to clean the house and that worries me that we won't get it done. I think DH believes we have time left. 6 weeks to go definitely isn't enough time left when he's had 34 weeks to prepare and hasn't. He just keeps putting things off or not really worrying. I can't tell if he's nervous and doesn't know how to react. He still hasn't told HR that I'm pregnant. His supervisor just found out recently. He's not an open person but I swear if I don't hold his hand things don't get done

Feeling ok . Really tired and not sleeping well at all the last week maybe 2 . Very uncomfortable baby is breech and its stressing me out but im trying to stay posiive and active and trying to get them to turn. Im finishing up work at the dance studio this week. Have a performance on Friday then I think Im done. If baby has turned by next appointment then I'm. Finished for contortion too as I'm using inverts to encourage turning but if it's worked we don't want them turning back ..

Getting a bit anxious about not being ready and only 4 weeks to go . We still don't have the baby room finished I'm still washing things to get them ready . But there's sooooooo much to do to move and sooo much to finish ready for baby all piling on top of us at once .

    @kaitlinliz
My hubby is a bit like that. Sometimes a bit too patient and relaxed.  But there's been some big things like buying a car and getting our medicare and centerlink paperwork all sorted and booking things to be done like painting and house stuff. He has just go onto it .
Other things like when I'm working he doesn't think to use the time to fold and put away thing or sort things and pack for the move
Or helping pick the things we still need to get
I think he is relying on the due date and doesn't srem to comprehend the idea that 4 weeks could easily be 1 and that would be fine as far as bub is concerned but he is defiantly expecting a November baby .. they just process the situation differently I think .

  • I haven't been feeling great the last couple of days. I think I've been hailing BH - stomach is very tight and painful at times. Also feeling nauseous, tired and a bit of a headache.
We don't haven the nursery done but it's not stressing me out, for some reason. He will sleep in our room to start so I guess that's why.
DH is good. I asked him to collect all our baby stuff from our various storage places (attic, garage, etc) which he did.
I'm just starting to get sad / nervous for my DD who will no longer be an only child. I know she's excited for her baby brother but she has no idea how her world is about to change!
  • I still have 7 weeks to go and I feel a lot more uncomfortable than the first time around.  I can only get a couple hours of sleep each night and my back pain is starting to kick in.

My plan is to work until delivery.  I’m lucky that my boss is very accommodating and has already offered to let me work from home.

We are working on DS1’s new room this week/weekend. Once that’s done I can start on the nursery.  I’m very anxious to get everything organized, but I think I’m the only one who’s feeling the pressure.

  • @mymulligan I am starting to feel bad for my 1st born too.  I think in the end it will be for the best, but I can’t help but feel bad for him not being the center of attention anymore.

  • Woke up in pain at 4 am and took my pill to stop contractions. Couldn't sleep, so I finished packing my hospital bag and cleaned the house before work. I know I have a L&D visit in my future. This feels different than the last few times, so we shall see.

  • Eek @NYTino24 good luck! Keep us posted!!
  • @NYTino24 hope he stays put a while longer

yesterday I was just super uncomfortable with uncontrollable heartburn, restless legs and just felt crummy in general. I cringe when i think about having 7 weeks to go and it will get a lot worse from here. I also felt like someone inflated my stomach with bloating. I felt like my skin was stretching and it was not so fun. Especially because he loves to stick his foot out my left side nonstop and it's actually very painful when he does. I ended up going to bed at 8 just in the hopes of sleep to escape from discomfort for an hour or two

hoping for a few better days

  • I'm feeling beyond done. When standing up after sitting for some time, my pelvis is SO painful that I can hardly walk. It feels like my pelvis is shattered. It takes a good 20-30 steps before I can walk like a normal person. The acid reflux is out of control as is the RLS. Sleep is nonexistent. I have just over 6 weeks which is right around the time I raise the white flag. The nursery is not completed yet but everything was on hold until we knew if we were moving across the country. I've decided to rescind my application for the job promotion so we are staying on the East coast. I'm not overly worried about the nursery. Baby won't be sleeping in there until 3-4 months anyway. But clothes are all washed and put away.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • A little anxious, I want more time. I'm 35 weeks and usually get to 37, this time I've been harder on my body. I swear they are trying to have me walk this baby out at work. Swelling wise my body seems to be holding up but not for much longer, I can tell I'm retaining fluid when I wake up and have deep creases in my side. Contraction wise, some REALLY hurt and sometimes it's this burning tearing feeling in my lower abdomen. My saving grace may be that his head is on my hip not in my pelvis.
DH was suppose to finish painting the room Monday and didn't do it, Friday is the latest I can let him go, I have things to put up and need to get in for clothes and diapers.
Feeling bad about DD, she's been emotional and I don't want her feeling left out or overlooked. I also don't want to drop the ball on Halloween or her birthday.
  • I'm feeling pretty good. I definitely have my pains (mostly pelvic), but am trying really hard to stay positive about how I'm feeling physically, and stay as active as I can. I am still working, but I work from home *and* work is abnormally slow right now which I'm really appreciating. Mentally/emotionally, I'm anxious about a couple specific things but very excited about having our first child, while my husband is more generally anxious about the big life change of having a child but is not worried about details. In terms of preparations, the nursery is just about all set, there are a couple things I still want to do in there, but nothing really important. Due date is 6 weeks out. I've been working on birthing prep every day (relaxation and pain management techniques, hypnosis, long squats...) and that's the main thing I really need to keep working on to be ready for baby's arrival.
  • I'm feeling okay, ready to meet this little one.  I'm 36 weeks 5 days so just over 3 weeks until the due date so baby could really come anytime.  I was having contractions last night, every 10 minutes for about 3 hours and I thought it would continue... then at midnight I woke up with menstrual like cramps and that kept me up for 3 hours.  At my appointment on Monday I wasn't dilated at all.  Still working, but it's getting hard with having a cold and not sleeping at night.  DH is excited and can't wait for baby to be here... I have a feeling I'm going to go late, but am hoping baby comes a little bit early.  Hope you all have a great rest of your pregnancy!
  • @NYTino24 hoping all turns out well!
@YesOuiCan that sounds like my DH too. He’s focused on paying off cc and that sort of thing and isn’t the least bit concerned about the details.

  • @littlemissc17 Funny that you mention paying off the cc specifically: one of the books I was reading earlier in pregnancy mentioned that men often prepare for pregnancy by focusing on financial preparations. I was glad I read that, because it made me more aware of the things my husband was doing to get ready for the baby in his way—so different from the nesting type things I thought of as baby preparation!
  • I hurt lol. BH seem more crampy and painful this time around.
This pregnancy has been complicated, so I’m now meeting with 4 different docs to manage everything so it’s getting hectic. I’m still working full time, but I think I’m going to start working from home really soon.
I haven't done much, but since I still have some things from DD2, I’m not in full out panic mode yet.
I am definitely nervous about how DD2 is going to react to baby, but I’m staying optimistic! She is starting to really enjoy being a big girl now and not a baby so I’m just going to keep riding that train lol
DH is very focused on working and paying off cc debt. He’s not at all concerned about what we still need to do, but he did mention how not having to do a nursery this time around makes him feel like he doesn’t have much to do. I was just like, here, take a look at this list and pick out whatever you want to do lol
  • @cwalker042 your experience sounds similar to mine.  Lots of pelvic pain.  I am struggling to think I still have 6 wks to go.   Definitely trying to enjoy these last weeks but it has been hard.
The nursery is not done yet but getting there.  I think my husband is more stressed about that than I am.  I am waiting for my baby shower yet to see what we will still need.
So excited for all of us to meet our little ones and looking forward to sharing in  that excitement as well.   Hang in there ladies we are almost there.   :)
  • I feel like this week all the symptoms came crashing to a head.  After getting over my cold I hit major insomnia and RLS.  Kid is way, way down in my pelvis, which probably explains everything else: major lower pelvic pressure, increased vaginal discharge, constant need to pee.  Major increase in headaches, which has till now indicated a blood sugar drop and need to eat - but I'm not hungry.  Lots of baby movement.  I swear my breasts grew, again.
  • Went to OB and urine, BP, cervix are normal. She sent me to L&D to get a baseline HR because he is dropping as low as 110.

  • I feel like life would be so much better if I could get a good night sleep. I feel like I am up all night having to pee or with heartburn or my hips hurting from sleeping on my sides. Over all during the day I feel good other than being tired and a little pelvic pain if I have been sitting for a while. Learning little girl doesn’t like when I am writing notes during meetings because I always get kicked in the ribs while writing notes and have to change positions.
  • @NYTino24 I hope everything is ok. Keep us posted

  • At 33 weeks I'm in constant back pain and my feet are permanently swollen. I only work part time, but I'm in grad school part time as well, so im exhausted. A couple weeks ago my amniotic fluid was borderline low, but I increased it by 10 cm.

I've had the crib since July or August, but it's still not up yet. We nees to finish cleaning out the nursery, but it's hard to find the time because my hours have increased recently at work.

@NYTino24 I'm sending positive vibes your way.
  • They aren't concerned. Contractions aren't leading to labor so visit #4 = no baby. I'd like to make it to November!!! The pain may be due to his position and not contractions? His back and butt are touching my belly button apparently.

  • @YesOuiCan That definitely makes sense! It seems to fall in line with the provider mentality a lot of men appear to have.
  • @NYTino24 Eek, that sounds stressful! FX he stays put until well into November!

Today is the first day I have started to truly "feel" huge and uncomfortable. I am not sure what has changed, but I feel like my stomach doesn't have room to keep growing relative to my torso...and I am starting to waddle a bit (super attractive).

It's also a long week because it's parent teacher conferences. So two days of working 7:00am-7:30pm....which is always fun.

I have a pretty bad cold and it sucks that the only medicine my OB recommended was Benadryl to help with congestion...it isn't doing anything. So I have been blowing my nose non-stop for the past three days. Add that to the non-stop bad taste in my mouth...and I am so over it.

We are about 90% done with the nursery, so that is good and I just need to buy a few final things off our registry. I need to pack the hospital bag at some point, but have been to lazy to. DH's mom offered to do a deep clean of our house in early November, so that is a relief. I can't barely bend or move around to do laundry and clean...so it is much appreciated.

We have a birth class this weekend and then a newborn care class the following weekend. We took an Infant CPR this past weekend which was great because it covered choking and other first aid oriented things as well. I seriously recommend everyone take it if they haven't. Choking is a real potential danger that happens more often than people think and learning the right technique can save your child's life.

  • @NYTino24 hoping things settle and you make it to November
    Not long now

    @littlemissc17 @YesOuiCan
Funny isn't it I suppose they feel like it's things that help and get organised that they can do on their own and take off our plate. There's so much they can't actually help with other than be supportive I know my husband has been that way with big purchases  like getting a new car. All the bookings and run around for the house and getting deliveries and all the paper work stuff he just gets on it I think he wants things all sorted before baby arrives so he can just be present while he Is off too and enjoy them as much as he can before going back to work without having to worry about all that stuff
  • So it was contractions, but they think the pain was his back and butt pressing against my belly button. Back to normal today, but my legs and feet are super swollen. It's so hard to put them up at work and even the legging seams are leaving marks on my legs. I tried to put on something other than flip flops and it didn't work. Yesterday was the first time temps dropped below 80 and today they should be below 70, so I need to figure out a new shoe solution. I might be wearing DH's sneakers soon...

  • @NYTino24 ugh, I feel for you! I did a google search to see if there were any alternatives to flip flops, but you’d end up paying quite a bit of money for something comfortable that wasn’t hideous. Probably not what you want to do right now.  Wish I could help!
  • @littlemissc17 They are foam flops, so they have more of a cushion. Some people recommended yoga slides, but I have foot problems to begin with and the soles aren't thick enough. I also have a size 9-10 foot to begin with and that's tough seeing how I'm only 5'4".

  • @NYTino24 one of my friends said she wore toe socks with flip flops when she was 9 months pregnant in December. It’s not super attractive, but it’ll keep your feet warm!
  • I also am struggling with shoes as well.   Thankfully it is nice here again today so I can wear sandals.  Praying we don't have snow again for a little while because I have some shoes that work but definitely not when it snows.
  • @NYTino24 look at crocs website. They have tons of styles and they are stretchy. I have been exclusively wearing crocs flats (they almost look like regular flats) for the past three months because of swollen feet. They have come a long way since their original shoe with the holes in them.
  • Speaking of comfy shoes, I just got these Adidas "cloudfoam" slides at DSW the other day and they are GLORIOUS. They are so ugly, but the comfort level is out of this world. If anyone's feeling wild and wants to get them, fyi, they run really big. I am a solid 8 and had to get a 7, would have tried 6.5 if they had half sizes. https://www.finishline.com/store/product/womens-adidas-adilette-cloudfoam-plus-slide-sandals/prod1850029
  • I'm OK actually. Getting sorer in the hips/legs/back and more tired more quickly, plus occasionally I have spells where I have go to the bathroom every 10 minutes (baby moves and sits on my bladder) but otherwise I'm good.

REALLY looking forward to my prenatal massage, my anniversary (12 year!) gift from DH.

@YesOuiCan Everyone had the Adidas slides when I played soccer. I tried sandals with a top and I couldn't get my foot all the way in. Maybe the ones with Velcro tops will work.

  • @NYTino24 I'm sorry you're having such a tough time getting comfortable! Adidas slides were all the rage when I played soccer too... Everyone had the massaging ones with the bumps on bottom then. Those ones feel like a torture device to me now!

  • I'm trying to hang in there and be a good sport,  but I'm starting to run low on energy,  patience and everything aches.  I'm so incredibly blessed to be pregnant after a long road of trying to conceive. My sciatic nerve is back at it,  and is so miserable.  I assume that because DD is gaining weight and dropping. Still managing to work full-time,  but some days are from home.  Nursery is done,  we are just working to organize the rest of the house.  I'm breaking down and called a cleaning service to help around the house.  I just can't bend and clean,  it drives me a bit batty.
  • I'm feeling overall pretty good but my body aches at end of the day. Nursery is not finished; need to put up curtains, install fan and organize the closet. My 16 month old son has been very clingy this week and it's killing my back. He has no clue his life is going to change. DH seems more calm and prepared for baby this time. My C Section is scheduled for Nov 16th and I really hope to make to 39 weeks. DS was born 2 weeks early and baby #2 feels alot bigger DS.
  • I'm feeling pretty good, but definitely starting to slow down. I need to take breaks while cleaning and I get pains when I stand up after sitting or if I bend down to get something and then stand up again. I feel so lucky to have had such a great pregnancy so far. The nursery is done, I just have a few more things to pick up. I am hoping DH will install the carseat at the end of the month. I am secretly hoping to go around 38 weeks, but wouldn't be surprised if baby makes her debut 2 weeks late haha! We have had a lot of changes and lived apart for 6 months while DH was away for training. It has been hard on our marriage and I am worried that things are going to get worse once the extra stress of having a newborn and being exhausted sets in. I am hoping that things turn around for us soon.
  • Ladies, has anyone else recently started snoring at night?

Ugh...I feel really bad. In the past two weeks, I apparently started snoring really loudly while sleeping. I have never snored before, but it's so bad that DH gets up in the early morning hours to sleep on the couch. Fortunately he has been very gracious about it and says it's not my fault/he isn't mad, but I just feel so bad. I have tried breath right strips, attempting to close my mouth when falling asleep and elevating my head. None of it seems to help :(
