@peachy13 I don't mean to alarm you but would recommend that you ask your doctor about the combo of the swelling + splitting headache (if you haven't already). Swelling is definitely normal but the combo of those two symptoms could be something more serious. Hope you are feeling better today!
It looks like I passed my 1-hour, but my white blood cell count is high and I had an instantaneous panic attack because I associate blood cell counts with scary things like cancer. Anyway, it's 12.4 and the normal range listed goes up to 10, and I Googled and now don't feel like I'm dying lol. But I was freaked for a minute!
@Marley629 sounds like symphysis pubis dysfunction and @alysapuggles probably your SI joint.
Can you guess what I am going to suggest ?
Go see a pelvic floor physical therapist! Yay! ( @anewadventure I really do need a meme haha) In all seriousness though, they can totally help with that!
@peachy13 epsom salt baths have really been helping with the puffiness for me lately, the other night I lost 2.5lbs of water weight from one bath! They seriously make me feel so much better.
@blueskies17 thanks! I was thinking the headache came on because of the exercise (plus, I could have been better that day with my water intake). No headaches since but I will certainly let my doc know if that happens again.
Thank you @failuretofly I'll be taking your advice! (FFTC: before this group, I had never heard of a pelvic floor PT). I have an OB appt tomorrow so I'm going to ask for a referral. I've been in bed all morning minus trips to bathroom. This is awful!
@MJDsquared I saw the same elevated results from my blood test with the glucose test. I googled and it looks like white blood cell count is typically elevated during pregnancy. My Dr. had already e-mailed me in the portal saying everything was normal, so I think this is just us having access to more information and being anxious about a high result of any kind.
@abcola I didn't even include 'pregnancy' in my search terms, which would've been smart! I have a love/hate relationship with being able to see my results online before getting a phone call... Hahaha.
@MJDsquared The same thing happened to me. I got a message saying my test results were ready on the portal before hearing from my doctor about my GD test results. My white blood cell counts were flagged, so I emailed my OB. She basically said it's typical for pregnancy and not to pay attention to the lab test results. I wish they would arrange it so the doctor calls you before your lab results pop-up online!
@MJDsquared it is completely normal and expected to have an elevated wbc count on your cbc during pregnancy. my doctor made sure to talk about this since they get a lot of calls when results come in.
@Marley629, yeah me too, but it started earlier as well. I am also doing a bunch of stretches- standing lunges while sort of engaging my core muscles and dropping my tail bone a bit... and other yoga stuff.
I am also seeing a prenatal chiropractor who has helped with this a lot- I have an old hip injury from when I played roller derby, in addition to the round ligament pain or other hip/groin stuff going on. She is super gentle, and has given me good stretching and alignment exercises.
I hope you feel better soon! Mine has gotten much better.

@failuretofly Do you have any recommendations for finding a PF PT? The ones at my institution look like they're geared more toward rehabilitative work and treating specific disorders/pain. ETA they mention pre/post-pregnancy issues but nothing more specific. Maybe what I'm looking for right now is just pelvic floor exercises to prepare for birth, since I'm not having any specific pains/problems?
@peachy13 I've had 3 completely separate episodes of swelling so far and I seriously have no idea what sets them off. Maybe the heat? Maybe letting myself get dehydrated/over salted? Sitting incorrectly all day and not walking enough? They're still a mystery to me. I just do whatever they suggest - lots of water, banana, legs up with sporadic walking, etc - and wait for it to go away. Hope you get some relief soon!

Team Puff over here. My feet, ankles, wrists, hands, and face. I am drinking lots of water, I am peeing a lot, I am eating potassium, I am trying as best as possible to cut back on sodium (this is the hardest one). I walked a few miles the other night after work but that didn't really help much -- I was puffier when I was done and had a splitting headache all night and slept terribly. I haven't exactly been constipated, but when I go, it's these (TMI) little floating balls of poop which I know is not normal.
My OB said not to worry about the puffiness and that it's normal with all the extra fluid at this stage in pregnancy. Ugh but it's just so uncomfortable and unattractive. At least the real hot weather is over.
So I had my monthly MFM appointment and everything looked pretty good. Baby is huge though, we will see how that goes as I progress. My next appointment is on Halloween.
I can relate to you ladies in so many ways. Constipation/diarrhea - lovely.
Low back pain, it's the worst when i want to get up from sitting or laying down. I'm so slow. I found a soft version of a lacrosse like ball at a fitness store and I lay on that in the morning to work out the tight muscles. I say "lacrosse-like" bc it's the same size and colour but it has some squish to it. I just feel like the top part of my hip needs to crack or something...
I also get the worst leg cramps at night. I've been wearing compression stockings.. not sure if they're designed for that application but it feels like it's been helpful.
I also feel huge and the baby kicks, not so adorable at times.. I've had a few wake me up.. lovely child... lovely... I feel like I'm going to be huge forever!!
I'm with a lot of you ladies. deep pelvic pain. pain when going from sitting to standing in both my pelvis and back. Pain rolling over at night. yay pregnancy! I'm not necessarily ready for LO to make his appearance, but I'm super over being pregnant. I'm sick of being hot and uncomfortable all. the. damn. time! And barely being able to walk up a flight of stairs without huffing and puffing like I've never worked out in my life.
I second epsom baths! I take 2-3/week, mainly because I LOVE baths, but they help swollen bits. Also, I take a power Magnesium Citrate supplement called, Natural Calm. Combine the two, and boom, puffiness gone! And if you're constipated it helps with that issue.
My main discomfort this week is rib pain.. it's like I can feel my rib cage expanding! It doesn't help that baby is practicing his soccer moves on my ribs as well.
@blueskies17 Same here. Plus, I've just started to get Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction today. Nan, does this pain suck! Needless to say, I won't be doing much of anything today besides maybe a few exercises I've found online.

but if your asymptomatic and just looking for prep for birth, I would also recommend Prepare to Push by Kim Vopni (book)

It has exercise and labour/birth information as well as help for recovery after birth. It is an excellent, thorough resource.
