Re: Anyone starting September FET?

  • @HottLemonade2886 they don’t and I don’t think I’ll tell them... I’m just going to tell them I tested already. I wouldn’t have done a beta before this but they were on order still from all my IUIs from before. Sounds like it’s good it’s your last appt. some people!

@Holls214 @HottLemonade2886 @ALM30324 loving the wonderful news on this board... positive vibes!! So happy for you ladies

@HottLemonade2886 are you planning to go to another acupuncturist ? I did acupuncture prior to ivf & during. I plan to continue 1x week now that I am pregnant.

AFM: Nausea in full effect, certain foods I cant eat now. Though I am avoiding certain foods my jeans are tight & uncomfortable. Oh well beautiful price to pay
  • Yes definitely a beautiful price to pay. I’m just thirsty all the time. So excited for all you ladies. I’m still in shock I think...  <3

  • @hopefulmom next u/s is tuesday to hear the heartbeat. I am feeling nausea & getting a bit bloated. Other than that just great   How are you? When is your u/s?

  • Magallyta I find myself hella nervous no matter how much I try to distract myself.  Some times I think I'm nauseous but then I think its too soon.  (TW preg with twins week 6 on the nose I was as sick as can be) Lets see if the same happens.  I keep stressing when my boobs dont feel sore...its because an acupuncturist said that when they are sore you have nothing to worry about so when they dont feel sore I worry and I hate it.  Technically my first US is for 10/16 but I feel like its so far away so I emailed my RE to see if they could see me next week.  Maybe help put my mind at ease....I guess we shall see!
My acupuncture is pretty pricey so I try to go every week and a half for now.

You said this is your second right?  Probably why your jeans are feeling tighter.  Mine jeans starting feeling tighter around IVF cycle 5, so I"m way a head of the game in that dept and just wear dresses  :D

  • @hopefulmom I will have to agree with you. Is there a reason why u/s is that far out? I had 2 betas a week apart & same now with u/s. When was your fet?

yes, this is my 2nd & my jeans are tight my lower belly looks bloated. During ivf I wasn't as bloated. I am back to acupuncture took a 2week break. My RE said "well acupuncture isn't going to get you more pregnant " lol this is the response I got when I asked if I should continue.

  • Magallyta Haha my RE told me the same thing!! There are a lot of pressure points so just make sure you trust who u go to see as now it's all about the blood flow.

Im surprised ur betas were so far apart but at least that helped some time pass! Transfer was sept 18.  I think they like to do US around 6wks.  It also falls out around a Jewish holiday so the RE probably isn't in the office and I wouldn't want anyone else at this point.  It's interesting during a transfer they use the US on the belly but after they have to use the wand and that makes me nervous too!

  • Thanks, everyone for the congrats on my digital BFP!  My first Beta is today (10dpt).  Should hear results after lunch.  I had very low Beta’s with my first two pregnancies (and the babies were/are completely healthy), so I’m preparing myself to hear a low number today and not freak out.  With my first pregnancy, the doctors essentially prepared me on what to do if I miscarried when my first and second Beta’s were so low, so I kept waiting to miscarry but didn’t!  I’m prepared for anything this time.  I will say that I’m having symptoms earlier this time than in times past though.  I got extremely nauseous at 6 weeks with my prior pregnancies, and stayed that way until almost 20 weeks.  This time I felt nauseous just days after my transfer, before the official 4-week mark.  Not sure what to make of that.

@Hott – congrats on your positive digital HPT too!  I assume you had your Beta this morning like me.  Looking forward to hearing your results!

@Hollis – I can commiserate with the mixed feelings on the acupuncturist.  Mine is very nice, but there are times that I feel like he stresses me out more, by telling me how I need to do more to decrease my stress.  Ha.  I’m essentially still going at this point just because I think it will help me cope better if something does happen and I miscarry.  I’m trying to be positive, but I also want to be prepared if this doesn’t stick.  Then again, I love @hopeful and @Magallyta’s perspective that you can’t get “more” pregnant.  I’m tired too.  But that may very well be from the other kids and not the pregnancy.  Ha.

@Hopeful – how are your nerves?  Did you take a digital yet?  For what it’s worth, my boobs have been sore off and on from almost the day of transfer.  It was that way with my prior pregnancies too.  My nausea has started much earlier this time around.  I’m pretty concerned about that since I was sick for so long before (weeks 6-20).  With it starting two weeks earlier this time, I’m really nervous.

@Fuzzy – US today, right?  Very exciting!  Let us know how it goes!

@Magallyta – how are you doing?  I’m already nervous about my nausea based on past experience.  It was debilitating last time.  At least I haven’t thrown up yet.  But I know it’s coming. Hope you’re feeling okay.

I went to visit some family this past weekend and gave my parents the good news.  My mother was in complete shock.  And not in a good way.  First, she asked if we were adopting because she thought she misunderstood.  Then she asked if this was planned (not even funny since she knows our prior struggles), how I would “ever manage” with another (I assume in reference to the fact that I work outside the home), and what all of these drugs are doing to my body “at my age.”  I know I’m not a spring chicken.  And if you knew my history with my mom, you’d probably not even be surprised by this, but it was disappointing.  I told a few close girlfriends and they were very happy for me.  We’re not making this public for a few more weeks for obvious reasons, but now I’m nervous to share the news because I will now be wondering who is thinking and saying all of these same things to themselves that my mother was rude enough to verbalize to my face.  It shouldn’t matter, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bother me.

ALM30324 yay can't wait to see your beta!!  And I"m so sorry mom wasn't more receptive I cant even imagine.  May I ask if you're an only child?  3 kids is not an outrageous number by any means, I wish to have 3-4 myself...now I pray to first have one healthy one BUT thats besides the point.  I get reactions to the meds and age as my mother has been quite worried about that stuff along with the allergic reactions I've been having so shes really hoping that this part of all the meds is over....so mom gets the pass on that one.
You work out of the home great so does 75% it would be 100 if there were enough jobs to go around but whatever on that.  You're managing and thats what counts!!
Moms are sometimes funny like that and try not to let it bother you.  This will be such a great miracle and addition to complete your family!!
Forgive me if I don't remember have you had previous MC that you're so concerned?  I know going through IVF we all worry about that even more and are on high alert!!  I hate that I'm like that right now BUT you have had success now 2x through this process and I think thats huge!!  The great thing is you might be older but the eggs you're transferring are younger so you really do have a lot going for you here!!
How low were your first betas?  Mine was 75 and I was scared hell I still am but I'm trying to relax.  Technically my US is a week from today which makes me feel better.  My RE did say he could get another RE to see me but I have to say I really dont want another one poking around down there.  However my big concern now is my vag is still bother me and I dont understand WHY so I'm more in a rush for him to see me for that.  Its just unreal!!!  I'm waiting to hear back from him.

edited to add that I did get all day sickness when 6wks hit and I can't decide if its starting earlier as in the last couple of days or that my head playing tricks on me....

@fuzzydust can't wait to hear about your US yay!!!

  • @Magallyta No I'm not going to keep doing acupuncture. Can't justify the $70 a session cost and since my acupuncturist annoys me I think its better to just stop. Haha!

@ALM30324 Good Luck today! I'm with you on the nausea. I have had that and feeling hungry all the time since two days after transfer. Sorry your mom wasn't excited. I know my family will be over the moon when I finally tell them. Just waiting for that first ultrasound to make sure everything is looking good.

@FuzzyDust Good luck with your ultrasound!

AFM - 1st Beta is in at 236! So excited but a little freaked since I had my husband guess what the number will be last night and the one number that kept sticking in my head was 236 so when she said it I thought I heard her wrong. Haha! They do betas every 3 days so i go back thursday to see where the number is. They now want me to increase my PIO to 2ml. They said they always have people increase to 2ml after first beta so I'm sure my butt will love that.

  • Thanks for all the support girls.  Beta today (10dpt) is 63.  Not as low as my first Betas with my last two pregnancies, so I'm happy about that.  It's not a high number, but my numbers have never been high so maybe there's just something about my body that doesn't produce a lot of HCG early on.  As long as the baby keeps growing healthy and strong I guess I don't care.  Next Beta is Wednesday.  I wasn't told to increase my PIO injections but I don't think they even test my Estrogen and Progesterone levels until Beta #2.  At least that's what they did last time.

@Hopeful - I have an older brother, so I'm not an only child.  My mother and I have had a strained relationship for several years now though.  I think it's tough for her that I've gone out and made my own life away from her.  I live out of state and she sees so many of her own friends who have made lives for themselves closer to home, and they see their grandchildren on a daily or weekly basis, that she's jealous of that and a little resentful of me.  Hard to explain, but there are some issues there that are complicated I guess.  I think she deals with a lot of depression and other issues too.  There's always something.  Anyway, I love her and my children love her, so I still visit and take them to see her - but I have to consciously work not to get pulled into her drama.  I shouldn't be surprised at the reaction.  It just made some of my own insecurities about this decision really come to the surface.  She seemed to be more concerned about my age than the number of children we'll be having.  I suspect she'll be happy after the baby arrives.  I'll just have to ignore her comments until then (and try to forget them).  I have not had miscarriages after IVF transfers in the past, but my doc warned me my risk was higher for that with this specific embryo simply because he's been thawed and frozen so many times.  The biggest hurdle was getting pregnant with him in the first place, so hopefully that risk factor will continue to go down.  Just trying to be realistic.  I sure hope your allergic reactions are a thing of the past.  That sounds very scary.  And hopefully my first Beta number will make you feel better about your own!

@Hott - That first Beta looks beautiful!  Congrats!  And I agree that you should go straight out and buy a lottery ticket!  I also think y'all are getting your acupuncture for a steal.  I pay $145 for each session.  Ouch.
  • Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! So excited to see everyone's awesome first Betas!!!! September FET here started on the high, then had a very sad dive in the middle, and picked right back up at the end with all these BFPs! Congrats, Ladies!

@Hopeful_mom - about the sore boobs. To my knowledge, this is mostly from progesterone. If you had suppressed fully medicated FET, then the only progesterone you have in your body in the fist 6-10 weeks is the one you inject. So I wouldn't worry too much about this specific part.

AFM, we finally moved the furniture to out new house this weekend, and connected the internet! Yay! This also helps me to stay distracted from obsessing over my pregnancy. Every morning I wake up and try to feel something - is nausea still there? Does lower belly act in any way? Is my lower back still sore? It's so scary to have zero control over how the pregnancy go, and the wait from my second Beta to the u/s felt like forever.
But, this morning I saw one little dark circle that is the gestational sack! it looks the way it should, and is located where it needs to be. That was a big relief!
Next step is another u/s in a bit over 2 weeks (Oct 25th), where they should be able to actually see the baby, and hear the heartbeat!!! I made sure that they scheduled it as late in the day as possible, so that hopefully DH could be there too.
Also, I asked them about why they never checked my progesterone again after switching me from suppositories to PIO (the last blood check for P was before the switch, on the transfer day). They checked my records and said that yes, that is incorrect, and I definitely need to check the levels after the switch to make sure all is good!  :s
I did the blood work right after, so we'll see what the results show. I'm currently on 1ml PIO daily, and it sounds low for FET from what I hear from others. However, I didn't get any signs that it's insufficient, so maybe it's still ok.

  • @FuzzyDust woohoo one perfect lil nugget in the right spot is all you could've asked for today how exciting!  What's good is my appt is next week and then U'll just have one week to obsess over  :D I'm on 2ml and will probably be that way for a while. It also sounds like you got a lot done on ur house already, that's awesome, congrats!!!  Just remember to take it easy!!

@ALM30324 Ah got it with mom! You can let her know I'm 41 still trying for my first  ;). I have high hopes for you!! I did not know about what your RE mentioned about the embryo stats with being thawed, glad I didn't know that prior BUT probably why I'm panicked to see and hear that heartbeat!!! Looking forward to hearing some doubling numbers on wed!!!  More good news to get us all through the week!!!

AFM:  Sent an an email to my RE to follow up.  My US is next Monday which still feels like forever away!!
However im more concerned that my vag is bothering me more on the outside now.  I'm just boggled.  I've never talked about my vag so much! It's like the vagina monologues it's crazy!  But I think when ur in such pain u don't care who knows.  So I'm actually concerned with that.

His schedule is also packed for him to see me this week so I might have to wait next week for the US.
He offered his colleague up for me to see but I rather wait for him.  AND I don't want my US days be the same as I did last time.  I know it sounds wacky but I just need this one to go differently!! I'm also hoping going at 6wks +4 days I think I should be able to hear a heartbeat, I hope!!!

@ALM30324 so sorry to hear about your weekend. Hope things will get better for you and your fam... I get family stuff. My brother is no longer talking to my family for some absurd reason and it really sucks in times like these. He doesn't even know what is going on in our lives... and congrats on the beta! yay!
@HottLemonade2886 yay so happy for you! I can't believe you guys guessed the number. That is crazy!
Lots of great stuff going on ladies!!
@FuzzyDust congrats!! I was wondering what a good progesterone level would be. Mine was about 35 and they didn't say if that was good or bad.
@Hopeful_mom hope you are doing well. Can't wait to hear your ultrasound update. I am thinking mine will be around the 23rd or so they said. Still waiting on scheduling with my clinic. We are leaving our RE to get the rest of everything done I think since we have no coverage there and my insurance is amazing.
AFM- *TW* Got my "2nd" beta back today at 13dpt is was 652. I seriously am still in shock and can't believe that this is real. I am exhausted and hoping to get some pep back in my step soon also waking up with nausea. Going to try some peppermint tea tomorrow morning.
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.
  • Holls214  whoah great 2/3rd beta :)  so whats next, another beta or will they schedule an US??  Sorry the nausea is hitting you already I can't decide what my body wants to do.  Peppermint candies was my go to in helps of getting me through a train ride, let me know how the tea goes!  Yea it still hasn't suck in...hoping when I see the lil pnut looking great it will!!!

  • Hopeful_mom, I can't wait for your u/s! Sometimes I feel like having milestones for people on this forum serves me as smaller stepping stones while waiting for my next check - it makes the time go easier. Sorry to hear your vagina isn't getting much better and still bothers you a lot, this sucks. I hope your RE can find some permanent solution to this.

Holls214, Yay for an awesome beta!!!!! Ginger and lemon work really well for nausea. You can slice some fresh ginger root + a slice of lemon + some honey if you like sweeter things + hot water = pure bliss :)
As for Progesterone, on my test result there are ranges for "normal", and apparently 1st trimester is 10-40 :)

AFM, I'm starting to feel even more nauseous, which is scary. I heard the worst usually begins around week 6, and I'm 5w4d today. Although maybe since mine started much earlier, it won't get worse? Fingers crossed. But still, I've never been happier about feeling pukey  :D Whatever it takes to keep the bean nice and cozy and growing strong.

  • @FuzzyDust we are still counting down to next week but I did get a sneak peak ;)

AFM:  Since I'm still having issues my RE decided to see me.  Getting more cream for my vag yay me!!!
So when he got into the room I already put my name in the machine and he's like we're not doing a scan today....and I was like maybe we could get a sneak peak, make sure everything in the right spot!! So on the DL he did a scan
Pnut thank g-d is in the right spot poo poo!!! Saw a quick flicker for the heartbeat too!
U really could barely see anything.  And the pic he gave me looks blank.
Talk about a Lil chocolate chip!!! Thrilled next week is the appt to do this and I will get another peak and the actual due date with all
that good stuff.  Even though my APP tells me June 6th is DDay :)

My u/s looked like just a black ball inside the uterus, with maybe a bit grayer portion where the yolk sack should be. My RE said - "and the baby can be any of these weird other fuzzies floating around" :D
How come you didn't get your due date right away? I thought they simply count from based on the transfer day? I already got mine - June 8th :) so since your transfer was 2 days earlier, June 6th makes sense!

  • @FuzzyDust you're absolutely right once I hit 6 weeks major nausea &!food aversions. We are a week apart my due date is June 1st.

@hopefulmom yay you got a sneak peak. So exciting!! Your vag needs relief hope the cream will help. If this a reaction to the meds? I feel like you've had it for awhile.

@Holls214 my boss (yes she knows) gave me ginger chews from Trader Joe's which has helped with nausea. Hang in there! Great 2nd beta.

AFM today I got to hear the heartbeat 129bpm & next appt will be my last with RE. after that will start with my reg obgyn.

  • @Magallyta woohoo!!! So exciting!!! How many weeks and days are you now?  Sounds like ur 5days ahead of me if I'm June 6th....so hoping I can hear something on Monday too.  I need to look for a new OB but scared to do it!!  Sorry you're hurting!!!   Being Nauseous morning noon and night kicked in exactly 6wks but I was carrying twins so I'm hoping this time around I'll be able to function better.  And yes this vag issue has lasted WAY TOO LONG!!!!  The crinone is what started it and not sure how long my body will continue to need to recoop from this!  It's so frustrating!!

@FuzzyDust today was a quickie with the RE if u will  :D no sit down in his office literally in and out, I'm assuming next visit will be my paperwork...I at least hope :) you know I forget June is still considered spring! Yay spring babies :)

  • Hi girls!

@Fuzzy – glad you’re making progress with the new house.  A new house sounds like the perfect distraction!  Awesome that you got a peak at your little one too!  I’m on 1ml PIO as well, and was with my prior pregnancies.  Sounds like your numbers are perfect!  I can commiserate on the nausea.  Hang in there.

@Hopeful – thanks for the encouragement.  I love knowing this all does still work for us over 40, and I have high hopes for you as well!  My doc’s warning re: my embryo was specific to my situation, so I wouldn’t waste any time thinking about that with yours.  We’re all in slightly different boats on things like that.  Hope your other pain complaints are better now with the recent visit and new meds?  Crazy that you’ve had to wait so long with it bothering you so much.  Love that you got a sneak peak!  But are June babies still Spring babies?  Husband and I had this debate last night about whether or not a June birth is a Summer birth.  I think technically the Summer months are considered to be June, July and August, right?  Not that it matters, but since I am a Summer baby, I had hoped my kids would NOT be Summer babies (youngest in their classes, etc.).  Oh well.  Nothing to be done about it now, regardless.  All the priming meds took longer than I had expected which pushed my transfer date out a couple of months later than I thought it would be when we started this most recent journey.

@Holls – Thanks for commiserating on the family drama.  I hate that things have to be the way they are sometimes.  Your Beta numbers sound terrific!  Congrats!

@Magallyta – Awesome that you heard the heartbeat already!  You must be the furthest along of us.  How exciting!

AFM - Had my 2nd Beta today.  They are checking Estrogen, Progesterone and several other levels too, so I’ll hear back from that this afternoon.  I came down with a Migraine Monday afternoon which sent me straight to bed.  I stayed there all day yesterday too.  Couldn’t take my usual meds because of the pregnancy.  My head still hurts today, but it’s what I call a hangover headache – just a constant, dull pain following the migraine.  Usually lasts a few days after the worst is over.  I don’t get them that frequently (maybe 1 or 2 a year), but this was a bad one.  Hoping I’ve had my quota now until after the baby is born.

  • I call June summer babies :) I'm a June baby myself, and b-day is pretty darn close to my due date :D My mom, dad, and brother are all born within 4 days (in April), so I wouldn't mind continuing the tradition with having my future family all around my birthday :)

  • @FuzzyDust My mom's birthday is Sept 8th and my sister is Sept 12th. In my family we have a lot of 8th birthdays. My MIL is Jan 8th. My cousin and I are Feb. 8th. My Aunt is March 8th and then my nephew was almost born on July 8th but missed it by one day. I have always wanted an 8th baby but since I think my due date will be Father's Day (6/17/18) I don't think this baby will be an 8th.

  • @Hott - Our due date will be the same, but I expect to have another C-section (both of my prior babies were breech thanks to my very tall husband who gave me very "tall" babies - ha).  They scheduled my C-sections one week ahead of time before, so I think that will be June 10th.  In other words, if you're a c-section mama, you might be closer to the 8th than you think!  By the way, I'm a July 8th baby.  Ha!

Got my 2nd Beta results this afternoon.  HCG more than doubled to 181.  Still a low number for 12dpt with a 6-day embryo, but those numbers are still higher than I had with previous pregnancies, so I'm pretty happy about it.  My other numbers are good too, so I'll go back for a 3rd Beta on Monday.
  • @ALM30324 - congrats on growing Beta!
My DH is 6'5", now I'm a little worried :D

As for the beta I would go tomorrow or Friday then.  I believe I was 9, 11 and then they made me wait through the weekend which was the 14spt

@HottLemonade2886 you know ur lil pumpkin could be late and come on the 18th which would still have an 8 in it :)

  • @ALM30324 yay way to go doubling numbers!! I don't think ur numbers r that low I think ur Lil man was finding just the right spot like mine :). Now we're both excited for Monday!!

AFM: Ever since my US I have Lil cramping here in there and I hate writing that word but trying not to panic too much about it.  Easier said then done.

Anyone else bending over and ur tummy doesn't like it? Like if ur bending in half like tying shoes, pettting ur animal on the floor.  Sounds silly but I feel like I can't stay in that position too long without getting a pain!

  • @Holls214 How crazy that we have the same birthday! I had my 1st Beta on 10dp and will have my 2nd tomorrow at 13dp and the 3rd on Monday which would be 17dp.

@ALM30324 Congrats on your beta! More than doubling is a great thing. Now it's funny you mention tall babies because I was a breech baby and my mom said my legs were so long they were like frog legs and it took them a while to come down after I was born. Part of me is worried my kids might be breech if they are like me so we shall see.

@Hopeful_mom 6/18/18 would be a cool birthday too!

@HottLemonade2886 great numbers, yay! I am awaiting my last beta results from this morning.
@Hopeful_mom hubby is excited, but still isn't celebrating yet since it's so early... I would say hopelessly optimistic since we never had a positive before... What about you? I have also had some cramping argh. Strange feeling, but I know its normal I suppose.
