Thanks so much for asking! I'm doing alright. As I had mentioned she's been dealing with the diagnosis for a few years now, so it's not "new" but the news that they're advancing to radiation also coupled with my nephew's (her son) adoption being finalized recently really hit home that this could be fatal. When she was first diagnosed radiation was mentioned, but at the time it was brought up almost as a "last ditch effort". Honestly I haven't been ballsy enough to ask quite how bad it is. It could be that they're taking an aggressive approach, or it could be that after three "episodes" chemo has proven ineffective and it really is a final approach. A co-worker of mine mentioned an old boss of hers who went through radiation after doing chemo and the radiation was way more effective and they're now in remission which was a little more reassuring to hear. Her simulation CT went well, and they discovered that where her back has been bothering her lately (past 3 weeks or so) is right next to one of her enlarged lymphnodes so they believe the muscles in her back have been spasming in an attempt to protect themselves. I dunno what that means, but I would imagine the fact that her body is still very actively defending itself is a good thing. I didn't get the chance to see her this past weekend, but I spoke to her on Friday, and we sent each other snap chats throughout the weekend (it's usually our main mode of conversation lol). She had a really fun "pre-radiation" weekend. Saturday morning her son had a soccer game and then she and her husband (who are are avid bikers, as in bicycles) did a 16mi round trip bike ride to get fancy caramel apples and stopped for dinner. I believe she starts radiation tomorrow. Dunno much beyond that, she really doesn't quite know what to expect so I know she's nervous about it. Aside from that apparently my brother did in fact get married lol. I've seen a few photos on FB, but I've been trying my best to avoid it. On the fun side of things my sister and BIL are planning a party at the end of this month to celebrate my nephew's adoption. FX we'll be able to convince DH's ex to let DSD skip a day of school so we can pick her up early and she can attend

she lives about an hour from me. We don't see each other super often cause of our schedules but we snapchat each other pretty much daily and see each other every few months or so

@SkilledSailor yes thank god. Otherwise I'd probably rage quit lmao. Still, come on... we switched to 4-10's willingly because we'd get Friday off. Making Friday OT kinda defeats the purpose

Besides work, I literally have nothing planned this week, which never happens, and it is great. I feel like I can concentrate on making healthier meals and actually have time to relax.

@lurvleybunchococonuts Definitely defeats the purpose. At least it's extra pay and you'll still have half day?

@holly321 I love weeks like that!! You get to actually do things like cook good meals and work on your hobbies. What are you doing with your free time?

AFM, I am having a week more akin to @lurvleybunchococonuts only I don't pay myself OT, haha. Next week I hope to get my hair done, though. AND my parents gifted me a massage so I'm getting that done next week too. Can't wait to relax.

@SkilledSailor, not much, I have been having asthma issues since last Sunday, so I feel crappy. I have been watching a lot of TV. I ordered a new treadmill and it came yesterday, so it is disappointing to not be able to run.

@lurvleybunchococonuts and @SkilledSailor sorry about your crappy work week. Hopefully the week goes quickly.

Has anyone else been lurking June?

*TW: loss*
There are at least two people on the BMB who claim to have had losses because they had "all the symptoms" but no BFP. The first one just did not understand why she was so wrong (her egg "fertilized but didn't implant" so her OB told her it was a MC....), and the second one had all symptoms of pregnancy last cycle and then got her period, so it must've been a CP....
I literally can't even stalk that board any more. Holy crap.

@skilledsailor ehh... yes the extra pay will be nice, but it's only sort of a 1/2 day. I have to be here from 5am to noon. So... 3/4 of a day? Most Friday's I've been working only ~6 hours cause as it was I was staying late most days earlier in the week. It's still better than 5am to 3pm which is what I'm doing Mon-Thurs. But not as nice as not having to wake up early and having the full day off. I suppose my hours could be way worse because even working 10 I'm still done relatively early, the downside is that I've been exhausted and falling asleep by about 8:00pm

Our production manager is firmly at the top of my ish list. I told him yesterday that we need to reevaluate the possibility of doing a paintball outing for this year's Holiday party and that if he wants to get back into my good graces he should bring in breakfast Friday morning. Your plans for next week sound divine! Also, you should totally start paying yourself for OT. Maybe pay yourself in wine

@holly321 thanks, it's been going relatively quickly, thankfully we're busy (hence the ot obviously) lol. FX next week we don't work Friday? I'm not holding my breath... but a girl can dream right? I'm totally jealous of your relaxing week

TW: Spoilers and grossness

I totally spazzed when the dog started to eat Gerald and then again when she was getting her hand out of the cuffs. Ugh... just thinking about it makes me wanna hurl. So graphic and gross. And so much mind f*ckery. I totally talk to/yell at my TV during movies/shows, I think MH 1/2 enjoys watching my reaction more than the movie itself. I kept on saying "no. no. no. no-no. Girl you turn around and kick him in the balls" during the eclipse scene. Blegh! It was well done and "good" in a "it ruins your night" kind of way lmao. *fist shake* curse you Stephen King!

I saw that, and it sent me into a Google frenzy. Apparently there's a hormone called Early Pregnancy Factor that is released immediately after fertilization that is an immune suppressant. I imagine (only a guess here) this hormone is the cause of so many people reporting getting a cold in very early pregnancy, but it would have nothing to pregnancy/pms symptoms. Those are due to progesterone. So, while it's possible that this happened in her scenario, there is absolutely no way that any logic can prove it. The study I found says in mice, 78% of the time, the egg wound up not implanting. (Which makes pretty good sense since we are told that a person with good timing has only about 20% chance of being successful.)
I wish I had saved the link. It was an interesting read at the very least.

@lurvleybunchococonuts That sucks about your work schedule! Way to ruin your 4-day work week.

ETA tag: @thisnthat314 The same thing happened to me at work recently too. Except all the senior people were replaced by newbies so I'm stuck training them all with the same amount of work. It's soooo frustrating! I totally feel you.

Do you remember several months ago when we had like 3 drive-bys in a row saying they had CPs with no +HPT? What is wrong with people? Why would you want that?

@adirat - Ugh, I remember that. I felt that it had to be another site/board trolling TTGP, because come on... That was just off the charts ridiculous.
I'll never understand why people go out of their way to try and come up with some situation in which they "had to" have had a loss. *sigh*

@izza2 @adirat I wonder it's hard for some people to think that even with perfect timing, they didn't get KU, so maybe they'd rather assume they were capable of getting KU than that it just didn't work out at all? *Shrug* But that's something we've all had to come to terms with here! I think it's pretty well evidenced by the "you're not pregnant" thread that we're all pretty certain we're KU every month with all the PMS symptoms! *TW* And the one cycle I had a CP I had no symptoms at all, so who knows. *End TW*

@izza2 I saw the first one. I've just been skimming for TTGPers since then. I don't understand why she wants to keep going to that doctor. I also feel like she must be manipulating Google to tell her what she wants to hear/read. Or she blindly listens to her OB and doesn't google any of the things she says.

@lurvleybunchococonuts yes! Hubs loves my reactions to scary movies. He only watches them bc I love them. I definitely made crazy faces and yelled “no!” at the tv. Let me know if you find any other gems and I will do the same!

Yeah... I definitely need to stop lurking BMB's. I'm pretty solidly in the "bitter b*tch" stage of TTGP. Smdh... but guuuuyyys I totes felt KU, duh! I'm just THAT intune with my body. I almost TP'd my HR lady about a month ago when she told me she knew the exact moment when she got pregnant with her son cause she felt it happen and so she ran to the store to get an HPT and it was positive. Yup... sure you did lady, cause that's exactly how it works *facepalm*

But really, what's with that "types of pregnancy" thread? There wasn't some huge discussion about it in the intros, it was literally knowledgeable people telling others why they were being offensive and wrong. *eye roll*

@izza2 I think crickets is the better way to go with that. Honestly that thread is just begging for every TTGP and other BMB member to jump in a add the science and facts, which will clearly not be received well. They seem to be sensitive to that sort of conversation.

@darkstar42 I did see that. Which does answer some questions. Without seeming overly judgey, as I also lived on a Caribbean island for years.

I literally cannot wrap my head around why you would want to have a whole discussion about different types of pregnancy (i.e. losses) when you are pregnant especially that early. I would already be so worried I would not want to discuss "types of pregnancy."

Now her and Doxie are going back and fourth between that asinine thread and the intros because apparently there is a problem with the snark and she's just trying to keep things organized. I hate to sound judge-y and exclusionary but you just got here. You were not on TTGP. Take some time to just hang out before you start new threads and try to "organize" things.

early FFTC: as excited as I am to ttgp and (god willing) join a BMB, there are some members I am glad to not have to share a BMB with. Of course I would rather be in the BMB and be annoyed with them than not be in a BMB, but geez. I don’t mean just that one either. There is someone on May who grates my nerves, too.

OP wanted a thread to organize the information that Kiki shared re: CP in the intros (Kiki was basically calling out an intro for saying she had a CP because she had all the PG symptoms and then got AF but no +HPT)
Doxie was like "I don't even know what to say in this. It sounds like you're asking about different types of losses"
OP said she just trying to organize the information from the Intro so it was in one place and that if someone was searching for information re CP or ectopic then it would be in one place.
Doxie said "I can't tell if you're trying to be passive aggressive. Misinformation needs to be addressed with the person when it happens so if someone finds that thread and just reads that comment they don't take it as fact"
OP said she was not being passive aggressive or snarky but would delete it.
