@Hopeful_mom I am so sorry you are going through the burning vag crisis. Is your doctor switching you to just PIO any time soon? @loverin LOL to the mental block and 22 gauge needle. I am so happy I don't have to do PIO, inserts are messy but at least they are painless.
AFM, no more spotting today YEY! I am still dying to test but at this point I am so afraid of negative I can't make myself do it! And DH has been so happy lately, he is 100% convinced that it worked and I am so afraid to burst his bubble. On the bright side, we had a good laugh yesterday when I exclaimed that after all these vaginal inserts I can totally smuggle stuff in there if needed! I swear as much is IF is tough- it brings your marriage to a whole new level,I know at this point that I married the right guy. So kudos to all of you ladies and to your men who are there every step of the way!
Me 30, DH 39 TTC since Aug 2015, BFP Apr 2017 - late diagnosed EP, right tube removed, left tube scarred. Dx: tubal IF IVF Sept 2017, 7 R, 6M, 6F- 4 blasts, 1 transferred fresh - CP FET #1 Dec 2017- BFN FET #2 Jan 2018- CP FET #3 BFP!!! EDD 12/15/2018!
@decemberdoll27 haaaaaa thrilled you can hide things well in there I'm also thrilled the crinone isn't killing you...it was smooth sailing during my fresh transfer, this pain is unreal!!! Its wonderful your DH is feeling confident and is supportive that very important!! I"m not as lucky but I try not to concentrate on that too much!
AFM: I'm kind of annoyed with myself for not testing sooner now to see whats going on with me. I do an ovulation test and an hpt as thats what i did the last time and it worked...not so much for me today I have a friend that made it black and white or whatever that trick is and she swears she sees something...for 7tpt I think it should be there BUT I'm taking my own advice and will try to still have some hope...
I keep wondering if all my vag issues did not help the situation!!
@emmasemm very sweet for you to include me but I want sept. to start off with BFP!!! hope you're feeling well!!

Hi Ladies, quick question. My clinic told me that they do not provide any reports on the embryo on DAY3. It is their policy that they do not disturb embryos anymore than they have to. While I totally get that, what’s interesting is that they’re doing assisted hatching on all of my embryos. So they have the information - they’re just not willing to share with me per their policy which makes No sense. Also my next update will be on the 28th which is day six. I don’t understand why am not getting anything on D3 and D5 like most other people on this blog. If anyone can please comment and let me know if this is normal if not I’m going to have to push people at my clinic. I go to RMA in NJ if that helps.
@rainbows2018 my clinic did not give us any info on the embryos at all except for if we are doing a day 3 or day 5 transfer. ( that was communicated to me on day 2) And actually thinking about it now it saved me from extra stress. You have to believe that they do everything in the best interest of you and your little ones. Also the day of your ER counts as day 0, not day 1, so that creates some confusion too. I also believe that assisted hatching is done later on day 4 or 5, but don't quote me on that. And I got my freeze report on day 6, one of my frosties was frozen on day 5 and they had to let other two grow a little bit longer and froze them on day 6. Therefore on day 6 you get the most complete report. Hope it helps

Hi Ladies, Sorry for the delay. I tried to distract myself this weekend by going to my niece and nephews birthday party and get out of town. All was great until I got the results for my leftover embryos. The 7 cell grew to about day 4 and compacted but hadn't grown since. We also had a 2 cell (on d3) which I thought was lost, but ended up growing to a day 3 cell and then stopped. Again we were left with no blasts on D6 so the lab disposed of the embryos. I'm doing my best not to completely lose hope but this is the second time we've gone through this with slow growing embryos and no blastocysts. I'm devastated. I'm trying not to completely break down and keep a glimmer of hope for the 2 guys in me, but this is feeling identical to last time so I'm having trouble staying positive.
@krenee124 It makes sense that you're on BC so you haven't got your estrogen level checked yet, but they should do baseline bloodwork and ultrasound after BC when you go in this week where they should test your estrogen level. Usually for me it's day one or two of my cycle for baseline. This is the one that should be under 100 which means the cyst isn't producing hormones. If your levels are over 100 I would definitely ask your list of questions and feel comfortable with the answers before proceeding this cycle. As an FYI, my cyst went away the next cycle but it did mess up my period and AF came super early. I believe part of this was due to me stiming the cyst like crazy until it was 40mm+
Hopeful_mom Thanks for the tips on supplements. I didn't realize DHEA was difficult to get lol. I guess I'm clueless when it comes to these things but I'll ask my doctor for CT laws.
@emmasemm Thanks so much for putting together that list. My pregnancy blood test is Tuesday 10/3. I'm not sure if i'm going to test early. How are you holding up? I'm sorry people were shitty and made clueless comments to you over the weekend. It sounds like you handled it with perfection.
@loverin PIO IM shots are my jam lol. Are you self administering? Regardless this is what I do: First, even though I always did stims at night, I do PIO in the morning ~7am. My morning routine is much more easy to manage then at night. I use the mixing needle to fill the syringe first, then I tuck the syringe (with the needle cap on) between my leg and crotch to warm it up so the liquid flows faster and your not warming and cooling the larger vial of PIO. My trick for injection is to lie on the bed and twist. I am right handed so regardless of which side I always shoot with my right hand because I feel like I have more control and can strike quickly "dart like". I use my left hand to stretch the skin. Then I take a deep breath in, and on the exhale I do it quick without counting. The liquid is slow to inject so I sing a little chorus of a song to pass the time and distract myself or sometimes DH tells a joke. My doctor also told me that even though you see online videos telling you to "aspirate" to check for blood, that's an old notion and you don't have to do it anymore, which for me makes it quicker. Lots of pressure and rubbing after ~3min to prevent bruising! PIO shots are terrifying and big but 100% mental. They NEVER hurt, it's just intimidating. So you can do it, just remind yourself they won't hurt and you will be great!
@rainbows2018 My clinic doesn't look on D3 either (I actually went to RMA for my second opinion and they told me they don't). I go to Greenwich IVF. Anyway, their reason was because they don't want to "disturb the embryo" and have a protocol that works for them. How many fertilized embryos do you have? Is this your first cycle? The reason I ask is that my situation is rare, but I didn't have any blasts on D5 (now 2x in a row). Because of this, my clinic broke protocol and allowed at the minimum for me to look on D3 to see how they were growing because we're learning more about my issue as we go and its helpful to see their growth/speed. Would that have changed my approach and had me look on D3 last cycle? Maybe, but probably not because I had enough embryos that should have made it to blast when we started and I didn't know my outcome. Obviously now in hindsight, I wish I looked and did a D3 transfer last cycle at a minimum to understand the speed at which my embryos grow and max, to have a chance to transfer a viable embryo or two. So I guess I don't have great advice for you, but know you're not alone with that directive, but if you do have minimal fertilized embryos don't be afraid to push them to consider allowing you to look on D3. Exceptions can be made.
Thinking of you all

@cxsimo08 this is my first cycle. We went into it thinking that we only had eight eggs to retrieve but then ended up with 15 at retrieval. Of those 10 were mature and eight fertilized. So that was the last update I had I guess I’m getting a little anxious at this point because I’m so new to this but I’ll just have to wait-and-see.
Sorry to hear about your other 2 embryos. Glad you were able to transfer to on day three so you still have a chance. Don’t give up hope - Fx for a sticky bean for you.
cxsimo08 its strange with DHEA, I was able to get it over the counter without a problem but everyplace doesn't carry it. I was saying you don't need to take all the extra supplements after transfer...DHEA and Coqu10 and Vitamin D are to help egg quality...right now you just focus on the meds for you and your pnuts!! I'm sorry your report didn't go as planned but lets hope you dont need it!!
rainbows2018 each place is different and I have to say I'm not even sure of my clinics protocol as I just call the lab myself and they are lovely and check the computer and gives me the report. It is frustrating for sure and i've done so many cycles that I did like knowing everything up front BUT there was one cycle my embabies were slow growers and I was STRESSED through out!! SO sometimes not knowing is better too! I'm sure if you called on day 5 they would have info. I'm sure they just want to cut down on the amount of calls they have to make and thats why they want to say day 6.

@BusinessWife yes so close yet so far. Good thing is bc I took a few days off of work for ER, I’m buried in a million emails. Will make my days go faster.
@emmasemmTY for putting the list together. I’m doing FET - hoping for end of Oct but it all depends on how long PGD takes. They did say that right now they’re running at a little over a week so that doesn’t sound too bad.
@cxsimo08 I wanted to self inject but I just can't get there yet! I've cried both nights so far, not because it hurts but because it just freaks me out so much! I did 3 weeks of shots to myself but this is where I die on a hill? SMH.
AFM it feels like an eternity since the transfer and yet it's only been 2dp3dt. I am so afraid that I'm going to cough and that'll be that, it messes with your mind! PIO also sucks as much as they say it does, I am so sore in both my hips now. So far though I've kept up the charade of my beta being next Thursday when it's really next Wednesday (i'm so sneaky...). I am a little concerned about if it was negative (please no!), that'd be a hard thing to spring on him when he's still thinking we have a day before we know. It's not something I'd be able to or want to hide so I'm just trying to figure out if it's a good idea But I'm mostly thinking only positive thoughts! Hope you ladies are feeling good today!

@loverin Keep thinking positive! If it were I, I would not want to have to go through that day of a negative alone, either.
Today's update: ER will be Friday! Right ovary has 6 follicles ready to go. Left ovary has 3 follicles. One more day of stims, another ultrasound tomorrow morning, then trigger Weds night for Friday retrieval.
I am so super bloated, and my ovaries are so tender/sore...I don't know how people with 20+ follicles deal. Actual footage of me waddling around:
@adirat, love the image! That was totally me with my 70 follies

@loverin Aw lady, I totally get it. It's weird because last cycle I was PIO queen but this cycle I'm psyching myself out more. I think I'm just sick of it- stupid huge a** needles. I'm sorry you are so sore. Does it help when you have DH rub the injection site hard for a while after or not really? I always joke it makes me feel like I did a really good workout on my love-handles but with no results! haha
@Hopeful_mom Yay, thinking of you and your faint line!!! Grow baby, grow!
@rainbows2018 8 fertilized is a great number!! The wait is so hard but the 28th will come soon! Is it too late to take up a hobby so we can all have a distraction? I hear painting is therapeutic although it would make me miss wine and paint night ;-) BTW I totally agree about the clinics not doing a good job explaining things part. I thought RMA and Greenwich were supposed to be the best, but it's like pulling teeth to understand things- frustrating!
AFM, my sadness in not having any embryos to freeze has turned to anger against my clinic (see above lol). 5 stages of grief for me are sadness, anger, eating cheese, problem solving, and drinking wine on an endless loop! (Wine replaced with more cheese during IVF!)

@adirat Congrats on almost being done with stims! And sorry for the mega bloat! 9 follicles sound promising. Hang in there friend, it is almost over! @loverin ohh sneaky you! I hope you get a bfp and it will be an awesome surprise for your DH! @Hopeful_mom yey for the squinter! I am not sure if I will be testing or not, see my whole story below.
AFM, I cheated and peed on an OPK.... Twice... Once on Sunday afternoon and once yesterday after work. I am kicking myself for doing that because now I am completely down. So I don't know what result I was expecting when I did it. On Sunday my OPK had 2 lines, control darker than the second line. Second line was easily visible but not positive by all means. Yesterday my OPK was lighter than Sunday and it was weird all together because even control line was lighter. I never compared them side by side though ( kicking myself). So now I am convinced that I am having a CP ( even though It might be irrational). Boobs hurt less and less every day, cramping stopped completely. So now I think I will not be testing till the beta to keep hope alive. I am prepared for a negative though. All I want to do is stay in bed and sob all day till Friday afternoon. Anybody has any insight on how OPK looks like if somebody is early prego? Also do I have any LH in the system during TWW? I am so confused and mad at myself. Another straw ofhope I have is that when I had my EP I did not have any prego symptoms even though my HCG was 10K +. Any impact will be appreciated. Thanks

@DecemberDoll27 I'm sorry for what you're going through. So stressful. What I have read abouy opks as hpts is that if they are blazing positive, it can mean you're pregnant, but everything else is just "inconclusive" including that it's too early to tell. I truly hope it's just too early for you! When I was pregnant before I didn't have any symptoms this early so it really could be too soon. Holding out hope for you friend
@DecemberDoll27 I know nothing about IVF fresh transfers and using OPKs as pregnancy test however, *TW I have been pregnant before * end TW and zero symptoms until week 8. You still have 3 days until your beta - I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions. Trust me I know it’s hard but the best thing to do is try and relax. I totally second @cxsimo08 on taking up a hobby however painting would stress me out even more. Lol. I’ve been baking - I think DH is getting sick and tired of the homemade breads now. My nighttime activity is watching Big Little lies.
@hopefulmom Yay for the faint line!! When is beta - this sure is a good sign.
@DecemberDoll27 Welp, I decided to take a pregnancy test too. I thought, hey, I've never seen a positive line on there, and it's early so there is still HCG likely from my trigger, so it might be fun to at least see a little something. Nope. No line at all. Whoops. Why are we torturing ourselves again lol?
@Hopeful_mom Yay for your squinter - may it continue to get darker!
@adirat I’m glad more of your follies decided to join the party. You’re almost there!
I don’t envy those of you in the TWW. I’ve yet to transfer anything, but whenever we do I’m sure I’ll be a complete mess.
AFM, I’m also slated for a Friday or maybe Thursday retrieval - TBD based on this morning’s blood work. Honestly, I wasn’t really keeping track of numbers at this morning’s ultrasound, other than for the size of my largest (I think that was 21) and if others sounded sort of like they were in range. I guess I figure there’s not a whole lot I can do about it. So far I’m a fan of the short protocol - but the results will be the real test.

@hopeful_mom OMG I have everything crossed for you! Wishing you all the luck in the world for beta tomorrow Oh and I nearly spat out my drink at your "burning vag" comment. It made me think of the song "this girl is on fire". Hope it's eased off now you've reduced the crinone.
@decemberdoll27@cxsimo08 - I am totally with you on freaking out. It's the second reason I haven't been posting so much as struggling to keep my brain under control... with all the fake symptoms from the progesterone I have no clue what's real or not. And I'm still very early (4dp2dt). I'm still doing hpts every morning even though they were negative since Saturday and at 6 days after fert nobody gets any lines! But it's become a kind of habit...
@loverin coughing and sneezing are truly terrifying!
AFM how the hell am I supposed to last another 10 days before beta???

@DecemberDoll27 try to relax!! Yesterday I too used an opk first and then an hpt, there really was nothing...I thought maybe but is it the crease of the opk...I doubt kno. My friend did the effect thing to it and swore she saw a line and kept me sane and not hysterical all day. I did the same thing today and got the SQUINTER on both. Did you test with FMU? darker lighter can be tricky depending on how much water you drank etc. Try not to concentrate on that. Right now you are PUPO so lets hope that bean is a super sticky one!! TW and I was pregnant with twins and dont have the same symptoms at all so try not to read to much into that either!! I"m trying to remind myself of that!!!
cxsimo08 i'm sorry you're feeling sad but try to hang in there!! you're still PUPO!!! but I do enjoy your stages!! Who doesn't love cheese
FuzzyDust i'm always in awe over how many follies you had its amazing!!! I was hurting with like 10...I can't even!!! You're a warrior!!!
loverin i love that you're planning ahead! Hoping you have a great surprise for hubby!

Speaking of relentless Googling... Ladies I have a question for you. Do you know what Estrogen Levels and Progesterone Levels should be after a fresh transfer? My doctor had me do blood work today (one week exactly after ER ~CD22) to test my levels and they were higher than I expected so I was wondering if anyone knew what a normal range would be at this time.

@DecemberDoll27 I get why you're down and upset but like everyone has said, it's still early!! I don't really get how OPKs work as pregnancy tests so I'm not much help there but keep your chin up and give yourself a few days to just believe and be positive! (Easier said than done, right?) I'll be eating my words in a week.
I think today is the first day I've felt the side effects of the progesterone. Yesterday my injection site wasn't super sore and I was feeling pretty good about life. Today I feel like someone repeatedly punched me in the butt on both sides and like if I just laid my head down for 5 seconds I'd be out like a light. Never had fatigue like this! Too early for it to be from my little peanuts so I'm scowling in my mind at the evil oil sitting on my counter.
And now that you all have recommended it, I am about to start watching Big little lies to keep my mind busy! Hopefully I can stay awake
Me & DH: 28 | TTC since May 2016 | DH: Morphology 0% | 2 IUI's with Clomid - BFN | IVF ICSI Sept. 2017
Thank you so much, guys! I think I am just getting into the final stretch and I can't help myself! Google is evil! @Hopeful_mom I did not test with FMU on purpose so I can talk myself out of bad results. And I will not test today! ( I will not, I will not , I will not.... Maybe...) Hope is still alive!!!!! Ohh and I am keeping everything crossed for your beta tomorrow! ( when will you know the results?) @loverin I am sorry you are feeling bad from the PIO, but hopefully little peanuts are enjoying their new home! Also hormones are such a mindf**k in TWW, you really don't know what's a symptom and what's a side effect. @emmasemm I am glad you found time to say hi to us! @adirat and @artemis618 Lets finish September IVF cycle strong with awesome ER results! We are all cheering for you here.
Sorry I did not answer to all of you guys, have to run!

And I just got the call that I’m triggering in ~3 and a half hours for a Thursday AM retrieval. Apparently my estrogen is 5700-something. Only 7 days of stims seems really quick, but it is what it is.
I forgot to add that I was THRILLED to learn this morning that my HCG trigger doesn’t have to be intramuscular and will just use the same needles as for Menopur to mix and inject.
DH and I are also big fans of Big Little Lies - highly recommend if you haven’t watched!

@artemis618 that's great news!!!! Good luck with the trigger shot. Do you know what your expected number of eggs is? ( sorry if I missed it in your earlier posts) Also 7 days does seem kind of fast, but hey if your ovaries can cook them quickly it is even better! I was the same way about needles and IM vs sub-q injections. I was told to do it sub-q but the HCG vial said for IM injections ONLY. I totally freaked out and had to call my clinic to confirm. Hopefully for you everything will go smooth! Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks @DecemberDoll27! I actually found the low number of days stimming slightly concerning, but it’s not like I can do anything about it. And no, I actually don’t know how many eggs they’re expecting. That’s mostly what I meant when I said I stopped paying attention (aside from anything cycle-threatening) during monitoring visits. . I figure there’s not much I can do other than what the professionals tell me to do (although I did request Cabergoline just in case...).
Edit: Just triggered - this cycle really was super fast. Also, re the # of eggs expected, I just anticipate >6 because I mentioned that as a threshold to do half ICSI/half IVF and the Dr. indicated that he thought we’d get more than 6.

AFM Found out our other little embie didn't make it to blast So we have literally all of our eggs in my basket now In my head I was kind of expecting this (my RE said it was quite a bit behind at transfer day) but it's still hard to take in. @BusinessWife you said you and your husband had a hard time with the lost ones and I didn't get it until now. It's not even the htought that we'd have to do IVF again to get any more embryos, it's more just that I feel like we lost these little guys that were ours. I know this one wasn't viable to make it or it would have but it felt like ours already.
I think the PIO is making me a bit emotional because I've cried super easily this morning before i even knew that information. This journey is just really hard and going through it listening to my coworker complain about his teething child and sitting next to an 8 month pregnant girl, I had to take a moment to gather myself. Some days I do better and I just don't think today is one of them.
I just keep praying that one or both of these little guys stick. Glad to have this place where there are women who just get these sucky feelings sometimes!

@artemis618 My retrieval is set for tomorrow morning as well! Good luck!! I've been on this board for awhile but am a little overwhelmed trying to keep tracking of everyone so mostly just read without commenting.
Trying to just go with the flow and not overthink things for the morning. Mostly what I'm thinking about is having to get up before 5:00 AM to get there on time, haha!

@loverin . I'm so sorry your other little embie didn't make it. It does feel like a little piece of you was lost, no matter how I try to rationalize it with my brain, my heart won't hear it... (((Hugs))) and fx for your little sticky bun ;)
@loverin Sorry to hear it I hope your current embryo is settled in for the long haul!
@latvaughanash I wondered what was going on -- GL with retrieval!!
AFM -- retrieval has been confirmed for Friday. My trigger is tonight at 1 AM. I almost laughed in his face when he said 1 AM, like I am capable of staying awake that late on stims...my husband is setting some alarms
@loverin I’m sorry your remaining embie didn’t make it . My first cycle this year we had no blasts from 12 eggs retrieved (7 mature), and it did feel a little bit like 7 *TW* miscarriages. Keeping my fingers crossed for the ones you transferred!
@Hopeful_mom We’re all anxiously awaiting the good word from you!
@latvaughanash Yay for a surprise ER day buddy! Good luck to you too . I get totally overwhelmed on these monthly boards too and find the >35 board much more manageable (and much less active). This is my 4th retrieval this year, so while I am optimistic, I’ve sadly learned to dread that day after phone call (and am even taking Friday off just so I can receive it at home instead of at work). New RE’s facility is about 40 miles away (old one was 4), So we’ll be getting up early as well. Just have to make sure to pack my bag in advance the night before

@artemis618 This is my first time ever, so I'm trying to just take one day at a time, but I know I'll be a nervous wreck waiting for that phone call. I'm still undecided on working Friday because it's only until noon. We will see... On Monday I just had 6-7 to retrieve (hopefully a few more will be ready tomorrow), but I'll be very anxious to find out what sort of quality we're dealing with. Out of my hands now so trying not to stress. I've been following the recommendations in It Starts with The Egg since April, so feel like I'm really putting her to the test.
@adirat 1:00 am?! That is insane! My appointment is my doctor's first of the day, so my shot was at 8:00 pm... I didn't even think about how that would work if you weren't going in until later in the day!

Re: September IVF

ETA nmnd, I see the 28th; mine is the 30th! So close!
rainbows2018 each place is different and I have to say I'm not even sure of my clinics protocol as I just call the lab myself and they are lovely and check the computer and gives me the report.
DecemberDoll27 are you planning on POAS?

My story in signature spoiler. Children mentioned.
I don't produce FSH, so no natural menstrual cycle. DH has reduced morphology.
Summer 2014 IUI (with first husband): cancelled after almost a month of stims due to too many follicles
Time off to divorce, get back on my feet, find a new hubby and get married again 💑

Diagnosis: Unexplained
2 IVFs, 8 IUIs (2 Clomid, 6 Injectables)
Thanks

Oh and I nearly spat out my drink at your "burning vag" comment. It made me think of the song "this girl is on fire". Hope it's eased off now you've reduced the crinone.
@decemberdoll27 @cxsimo08 - I am totally with you on freaking out.

@Hopeful_mom I did not test with FMU on purpose so I can talk myself out of bad results. And I will not test today! ( I will not, I will not , I will not.... Maybe...)
Hope is still alive!!!!! Ohh and I am keeping everything crossed for your beta tomorrow! ( when will you know the results?)
@loverin I am sorry you are feeling bad from the PIO, but hopefully little peanuts are enjoying their new home! Also hormones are such a mindf**k in TWW, you really don't know what's a symptom and what's a side effect.
@emmasemm I am glad you found time to say hi to us!

@artemis618 yay for triggering! ER will be here before you know it
AFM Found out our other little embie didn't make it to blast So we have literally all of our eggs in my basket now In my head I was kind of expecting this (my RE said it was quite a bit behind at transfer day) but it's still hard to take in.
Trying to just go with the flow and not overthink things for the morning. Mostly what I'm thinking about is having to get up before 5:00 AM to get there on time, haha!

@adirat 1:00 am?! That is insane! My appointment is my doctor's first of the day, so my shot was at 8:00 pm... I didn't even think about how that would work if you weren't going in until later in the day!
