@afineskyline love Arden! It's on our list. @justsuzie Wynona does make me think of rider. Do you like Leona? Maybe not quite the same style but sound similar imo... Ireally like Darby!
I am stacking my list with a couple of duds so the others look better in comparison.
Wynona does make me think of those celebrities, but that'll happen with a ton of names. And those 2 don't seem like they'll be too relevant when lo goes to school so people probably wouldn't ask "like Judd?"
My DH hates all my names too. He said since we had names left over from last time we're just going to use those. Uhhh that's not how it works.
DH said this same thing. I was like uummmmm nope. Not how it works. That being said we do have a few of our names from last time on our lists this time but overall the lists are not the same.
If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it?Sally after my grandmother. DH hates it because it's the nickname of the town he grew up in and doesn't care for. Cornelius after my grandfather but DH had a professor that he didn't care for named Neil.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? Last year we decided on Illiam (Liam) Russell and Madelyn (Maddie) Therease *tw* unfortunately we had a mc at 11 weeks and didn't get to use them *tw* this year a cousin of mine got pregnant and her name choices are Madeline or Liam. DH says oh well we like our names but I won't be able to do that so we wait until December to find out what she names her kid. DH would like to name the baby Lukas after our 13 year old dog but we'll see about that.
What style of names do you like? Old names, as a teacher many names of boys are ruined for me and I don't think we will be able to settle on a boys name.
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? Ftm
My girl name was the runner up for my first pregnancy so we are(??) going to us that but then I saw it’s in the top 50 and now I’m having a whole existential crisis about it.
I wouldn't mind being able to keep Ryan or Eric on the list, but Ryan is an ex and Eric is my fiance's bro. I really love Oliver and Myla right now I can't say that I like a certain style name My daughter's name is Ria
I personally don't like Griselda or Zelda. I think it's kind of awful but it's a real name. So it could be a lot worse. If you really love it you should use it but I think she will grow up hating it.
I teach in a diverse school system with a 20 percent Indian population. The names are very different from American names and the other kids don't think the names are weird. I feel like it's more the grown-ups who make kids think their names are weird.
@Pearlvirus sooo Griselda and Zelda are not at all my style.... I also wouldn't personally go with top ten, but those are not bad names. Names that are completely made up, misspelled etc- bad names... but there are plenty of wonderful names outside the top 10 that are much, much better, imo....
@hollieleen I 100% agree "uneek" names are waaaaaaay worse than common names... and honestly I do like several of the top 10 names, but I'd never use one. I'm sure this is influenced by the fact that I have a fairly common name and one of my sisters has a very uncommon name and I always like her name better.... plus I was feeling bitchy ☹️
We really wanted non popular, classic names for our twins. Both of their names ended up skyrocketing right around the time they were born. We know/ know of a handful of girls with the same name as DD and one or 2 boys with the same name as DS, oh well. Their names fit them really well so even if I could go back in time and change their names knowing their popularity now, I wouldn't. I cannot imagine them with another name. They'll probably have kids in school with the same name, but they'll survive.
@Pearlvirus with DS we tried not to pick a name that was too popular, but in his class of 16 he has another Myles and it's spelled the same way. They were also in our baby sign class we took. It doesn't bother him to be Myles (last initial) at school, but I probably won't pick a top 10 name this time around either even though I like some of them.
@SLC1102 seriously. I dont love that Mia is so popular now, but i have loved that name and been set on it for over ten years (well before it was in the top list of names), and if i have a girl I am using it. Because who cares if its popular, if i enjoy it and it is sentimental to me? Popular doesnt mean "bad," it just may not be the preferred choice for some and thats ok.
I'd rather have a popular name than a weirdly spelled, made-up name, just for the sake of uniqueness.
I still stand by my statement. Sorry, but I think there are way better names out there.
I wont use anything from the top 10 but they're not bad names at all. I just have like the most common name ever and I don't want to do that to my kid.
my husband is dead set on Thomas or Nolan and told me it's not negotiable. So if I end up in jail...he deserved it.
1. For girls: Maya, Liana, Isabel, Rafaella. They're either too close to other names in the family, not Hebrew (I want Hebrew), or start with L ( DH's family doesn't name after living relatives and MIL vetoed the whole letter. Not sure we'll abide by that this time.) For boys: Asaf, Boaz, ... I can't remember the others.
2. Girls: not sure. I want an R name for my dad ( my family names after living relatives), but so far not over the moon about anything. Maybe Rina. Boys: first name Rafael. Middle name not sure. Jesse?
3. I like Hebrew and Spanish names. And j names for boys. I like choosing names with a lot of meaning.
4. Don't want to share other names, but they both end in -na. Wasn't intended. Still like this names. I'm not into matchy names But I might have to suck it up.
If everyone liked the name then it would be common, ha ha
I respectfully disagree. There are a lot of names that I like, but very few I like for my own children. I like my nieces and nephews' names, I think they suit them all fairly well. That being said, I have never had any of those names on my mental list of possible names from the future. And when we heard their names, I never felt a twinge of envy that they already used those names.
I was growing fond of Hadley for a girl, I think it's really pretty but just found out a friend named her boy Hadley and now I'm questioning if its even a girls name in the first place.
@CraftyG girls name! It was my girls name forever but my ex and his wife used it knowing it was my girls name because theyre psycho. So yeah. Won't be using that.

@suchaglencoco that's literally just the cherry on top of all of the things they've copied. I caught her stalking me in one of my mama groups on Facebook this week. I've been divorced for 4 years. We didn't have kids. Leave me the hell alone.
If you were to have any name your heart desired for your baby what would it be? And why won't you use it? Henny. It was my grandma's name. DH hates it.
Now give the realistic choices you might actually end up with? A girl name will start with an S and a boy name will start with a J (to match the other 4 kids)
What style of names do you like? Shorter names that are classic
If you're comfortable sharing your other children's names what are they? Do you have a sibset in mind? Jon, Joel, Susanna, Scarlett (in order of age). The naming wasn't intentional. one boy and one girl are bio, the other two came to us named (foster care).
Update: We have picked names that we actually agree on. We're team green.... For a girl, Samantha Rose For a boy, Jake Edward
If it's twins and two of the same sex, we're going to have to file for divorce.
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!

Like dude. You don't have a middle name. You're stupid.
I really love Oliver and Myla right now
I can't say that I like a certain style name
My daughter's name is Ria
I lost my angels 07/2010, 04/2017, 10/2017
Meimsx no more
