  • @charlestonchew thank you. I needed that. I was feeling very selfish.
  • My son was just diagnosed with strep throat. Because I don't already have enough to do.

This is the fourth or fifth time (I've lost count) he's been sick in two months!  In the summer!  Everyone insists it's "normal" for him to be sick this many times since he's in daycare, but to me it feels like a LOT. Does anyone else's kid(s) get sick often?
That does seem like a lot. Has it been strep every time? Please tell me no.

  • @sparkymcgeee no first time for strep. The other times I was just told "common virus/bacteria going around"

  • I should also mention he's allergic to penicillin, cefdinir, and sulfamethox (just found out about that one) so sometimes it makes it hard to get rid of some things on the first try.

  • @heelsidehero it's totally normal. Kids in school and daycare get sick all the time. One winter my kids got strep, norovirus, RSV and pneumonia within a few months. It was crazy town!!
  •  My three year old has hfm.  He screams all night long, so I'm not sleeping.  I bet his brother will get in in two or three days. Jury is out on whether I get it or not. Who wants to make a bet?

  • @heelsidehero did you recently start at the daycare?  My kiddos got a ton of stuff when they started. They also get sick a lot every August when they go back (they stay home with me in the summer bc I'm a teacher).

  • Yes, I'm ready to eat again too @kpc914. I have still been cooking dinner and more often than not choose not to eat it because, yuck.
  • @kpc914 I feel like a whiner for the opposite reason. I keep complaining that I don't have symptoms. A precious loss makes me so crazy looking for symptoms. Doesn't help that I had a ton with both of my successful pregnancies. Typing about it makes me want to send dh for a test so I can double check (or x100 check!).

I had strep throat eleven times in one year, and our insurance wouldn't pay to have my tonsils removed.
  • @ivyvines6 omg!  That sounds terrible!

@roomsu my son has been consistently in daycare for 18 mo. Second year in a row getting sick at this time of year though. Sucks having him sick in the summer.  I've been told he'll have a great immune system by the time school starts haha.

  • @heelsidehero I used to teach kindergarten and the daycare kids definitely got sick less often!  I guess it sucks now, but pats off later???

  • I keep almonds by my bed.  I don't like them too much, so I have to be super desperate to break into them.

I drink RRL tea in third tri.  I love herbal teas but it's too hot here in the mojave to drink tea on the reg.
I am a believer of the benefits of RRL tea. I took mine in capsule fromlast time and had the quickest labor- it was my first labor and I was in active labor for about 5 hrs and only pushed through 4 contractions. It may be genetics or luck, or the RRL, who knows, but I'll be taking them again this time.
  • @sharkmama39 When did you start taking it?

I didn't do RRL my first time and did my second.  My first was 32+ hours labor, my second was 9.  Of course, #1 was also sunny side up, but I still think the RRL helps.

  • @momo214 I drink a lot of tea, I have the Earth Mama Baby Angel morning wellness plus their peaceful mama. My best got them for me waiting for me to get PG.
I also have a bunch of no-tea herbal blends I've been collecting from T2.com
My bestie also said she only drank peppermint while PG for nausea and now she has a nausea-association to it, so I'm trying to switch things up. I also do a combo of any of these: fresh lemon, fresh ginger, honey, mint
There's nothing like the dutch mint tea, a handful of fresh mint right into boiling water..

What are you making? How are you combining knitting and using fabric for the same quilt?

I knitted a pair of booties earlier in the year for baby, and am very keen to start all the projects I've had lined up for baby... SO excited. It was just too hard to do them through IF. Maybe we should have a crafty thread?

  • @bumpemma a craft thread sounds fun, I need some ideas!
  • count me in for a craft thread!

  • Did you all see that Kylie Jenner is pregnant?  :o
  • I'm grossed out by the amount of pizza I just ate...
  • It's 10:30 here. My toddler is still up. Why? Because I'm too tired to get up and put her to bed. And by "put" I mean fight for 45 minutes to get her asleep. I feel like the worst mom ever this week.
  • We went to the chili cook off last night and usually that's fun for me but between exhaustion, need to pee, nausea and indigestion it was a recipe for disaster.
  • DS wanted pickles and toast for lunch... who's pregnant?
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @sparkymcgeee Do gingersnaps help?!  Because if YES, game changer.
  • I work as a manager for a university dining services account. It's my weekend at the dining hall which means I'm surrounded by food and 2 billion different food smells. It's making me so nauseous. Kitchen checks with all the steaks being marinated and cooked isn't helping.

Anyone else work in kitchens who knows the struggle?
  • Has anyone heard from @ccvslp lately?  I'm on mobile so I can't see her recent discussions by looking up her profile.

I don't have many symptoms. It's making me worry, but I keep telling myself everyone is different. Trying to enjoy feeling good, because who knows when that may change.
